This Petco is where I most frequently shop for pet supplies (2 dogs and fish). The store is always clean and we'll stocked. Parking is sufficient that I nearly always get a close spot and can get in and out quickly. Today I had probably the best service experience I've ever had at this store when I came in looking to buy a few fish. Normally when I am looking to buy fish I have learned to expect to go looking for help and to wait for service. When I walked in there was another shopper already in the fish section so I prepared myself to wait. That is not what happened. With in seconds one of the staff members swung by and asked the customer in front of me if she needed help...this was in spite of the fact it was clear he was on a mission with his hands full of stock he was taking to the back of the store. The other customer asked a question and this Petco employee escorted her to the section of the store she needed. I expected that the employee would then go on his way with his original plan...taking the goods he was carrying to the back of the store. But that isn't what happened either. He remembered me and came back to ask if I needed help. I said I was looking to buy fish. He promptly found a counter and laid his stock down and then took my order. He kindly asked whether I had an established tank ready before collecting the fish. When he was done and handed me the fish, he finished by telling me his name and suggesting I should feel free to call him if I had any questions later on. He then went on back to stocking, singing to himself. I was in and out within 5 minutes. I was wowed by one employee who was quick and effective, who paid attention to what was going on in the store, who showed he cared about his customers and his store, and delivered a great customer experience. Very very disappointed in this Petco location. I scheduled a grooming appointment for 4:15 on a Sunday and chose this location due to it being the only location that had availability. Our normal 2 locations were booked out. Upon arriving I checked in with the desk and was greeted by 2 ladies, they immediately started asking questions about my dogs leg… I have a 4 year old Pug that was born with a leg deformation. I told them it was something he was born with and he doesn’t know any different, he’s 4 it’s been that way his whole life. They asked if he had to take medicine for it, I said no. He’s the happiest healthy pug, he’s fine. They went in the back and upon coming out I was told they could not take my dog and fill my appointment. Very shocked and upset I asked why and they said it was against Petcos policy because of his leg. Mind you he’s been going to petco for grooming for years with no issues. I questioned this and was given rude snarky responses and was kept being told this is petcos policy and sorry they won’t take him. I have never felt more hurt the discrimination the employees at this location made me feel by denying my fur baby service. Petco has seen my dog for many years so it was an excuse to end their shift as I’m sure my appointment was the last one. I called my normal location after this experience and he is booked to see them Tuesday no questions, hesitations, and happy to see him. Studio city location needs to hire people who are professional, that don’t discriminate, and are kind. I will NEVER go back to this location and thank god I didn’t leave my dog with such unprofessional inhumane people. Emily and Adam should be ashamed of themselves.

Go to any other Petco! I was coming here for years. Within the last year something changed. In the past three trips I have been denied services twice, and witness another customer be driven away. Latest trip: we were turned away from buying a replacement neon tetra. Because the employee thought our bio-load was too much and walked away from us. We didn't get a chance to explain that we do very frequent tank changes to prevent this and are very active fish parents. She walked away, as we were responding to her. We left the store. Previous trip: our dog was turned away from grooming because he recently had had stitches. The vet had cleared him weeks before, the stitches were removed at this point but his hair hadn't grown back. But the groomer did not feel comfortable doing the bath, so we were turned away day of. Even though we had mentioned this before making the appointment. Another instance: a very excited family walked into the store with small children. The parent asked where they should go to get a bird. The employee laughed and said "another store" (They do not carry birds at this location') I feel he could have told them which store locally did, or maybe sorry sir we do not carry birds. His sarcastic remark and disregard for customers feelings was appalling. For these reason I recommend going to literally any other store.

I will continue to shop at Petco because of the location and convenience, but I was not at all happy with my purchase on May 22. I need a gate for my dog and I'm looking for a tall one because he's a climber. The problem is that most tall gates are built for large dogs and the rails are far enough apart that a small dog like mine can get his head stuck between them. I explained this to a rep on the online chat and he made a recommendation. I went to the store to purchase the gate and a salesperson confirmed that the rails were safe for my dog. I had my dog with me, so the salesperson could see how little he is. I spent way more for a gate than I wanted to, but I had the recommendation of two people who said it would work for what I need. I got home and set it up and sure enough, it look less than a minute for my dog to get his head wedged between the rails. What makes this even more frustrating is that I can't take the gate back and exchange it for another option. I'm stuck with an $80 gate that I can't use because the salespeople online and in the store were more concerned with making a sale than with giving me correct information, and I still don't have a gate for my dog.

Petco is great. Period. That having been said, it is a retail store. It costs millions of dollars to operate, yet provides products and services at remarkably low prices. My pup ran herself into a wall, and immediately I'm thinking about how much a vet visit is going to be; she has just bruised herself somewhere, and if it were me, I'd just take an aspirin. Solution? Petco. I went in and found some doggy aspirin (already inside a liver-tasting drop). $12 later and she's swallowed one, no problem at all. Today she's just fine, attacking me, biting me, and running all over like the little monster Chihuahua she is. True story. Thank you, Petco. How they make a profit from 100 liver-flavored doggy aspirins for $12 is beyond me. Next time, maybe I'll take one myself. I'm not kidding.

Came here just a few days ago to get flea medicine 4 my dog, I had some1 help me to pick out a certain type. I got to the cashier and I was told that it's an empty box... Are they all empty boxes on the shelf? I Asked.. & the cashier said yes... Talk about switch & bait with price & all under the boxes, the stupidest thing I've ever seen... Not to mention low on product in lower price range, but, no problem with real expensive stuff! $50+... I kept telling the cashier, "you need to take them off the shelf" I was ignored... I walked out w/out the product & I won't be back, I'm tired of this place... Parking is a nightmare! Super tight quarters.. Can hardly get in & out of parking spots. People here get super nasty, if I take a second longer to be careful...

This store shows every sign of poor management and lazy, unmotivated staff. Went in to get Vet's Best Ear Relief Wash & Dry for Dogs, which the website was in stock. Not only was it not in stock, the entire shelf section looked as if it had been emptied by smash-and-grab thieves whose dogs had severe ear problems. Elsewhere in the store, the same undisciplined approach to stocking and display aesthetic was evident. Even the refrigerators had jumbled merchandise and looked like the last time fingerprints were cleaned from the glass doors was months ago. But I will say, the employees looked happy, which must be attributed to extreme oblivousness that keeps them from using up the energy needed to do their jobs.

Edit: Stood on line for over 20 minutes (not hyperbole) while 2 separate clerks explained apps to 2 different boomer ladies!!!! Three of us walked out and went to Petsmart. To staff: You don't need to be tech support, if a smartphone is too hard for them, you can't help that or gracefully have them step aside so you can clear the line of 5 people with melting doggie ice cream and get back to it. I write apps for a living. Your app was written by skilled people that made it easy to use for the dumbest people they could possibly conceive, and these two women were dumber than that! My dog loves going here she freaks out when she knows we're going. She needs to smell and investigate everything.

Store and staff are nice enough, but do not, under any circumstances, join their Vital Care program. It’s a scam. The app is poorly designed, the coupons are tedious to use, and halfway through the year, the system “accidentally” duplicated my pet, and charged me an extra $20 a month for a few months until I noticed. Customer Service claims that they can’t refund me because I used the reward coupons for it. The receipt is so long and convoluted that it’s impossible to see if you actually saved anything. I honestly never noticed any true savings compared to other stores like PetSmart, who offer a free membership that’s much friendlier to use. That’s where I’ll shop in the future

Arrived early to grooming appointment to give vaccine records. Store was not officially open. I waited outside with another employee because she did not have keys to the store. The manager arrived, unlocked the door and let the other employee in, asked about my grooming appointment time, and re-locked the door behind her. After waiting until about 15 mins after my appointment time, the manager unlocked the door again to say "No groomers here yet, why don't you go wait in your car?". I said no thank you, we'll just go home. Really awful experience, won't come back. Attached image of appointment time confirmation and location- The groomer literally just didn't show up.

I am new to the pet world, and I was always skeptical of big chain stores. But! Petco turned out to be quite good, offering discounts and good prices, variety of quality products and their availability, online shopping with in-store pick up, rewards program and so on. I am quite impressed. This store is clean and the customer service is very nice! MAKE SURE TO PRICE CHECK ONLINE! They will much that price in store for you. I am yet to check their vet services, so cannot say anything about that yet, except that the pricing seems cheaper on some services than some "budget" vet clinics out there! - Good selection of products - Parking - Great customer service

Preparing for a new puppy wasn’t as nerve wrecking after my experience at this Petco. Upon entering, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The store was neat and organized so i was able to see everything I forgot to add to the list. One of the employees on the floor noticed we weren’t too familiar with this stuff so Colin happily approached us to assist. He was very informative and also gave us coupons. He answered all of our questions with great knowledge. The gentleman who rung up our items was also super helpful and patient with a Great attitude. We left Petco a bit more relieved and comfortable about our new addition.

I gave this place 5 stars because they have a huge variety of goods... but don't think that because a pet food is expensive it must be good. If you're ever feeling low and have some time to kill, go to Petco and read the labels on the cat food. HAha! Braised, flaked, minced, pate, sautéd,. holistic, in creamy gravy, in a light gravy. This is food that should be served by candlelight. There's lots of clothes, too. (pa-leeze). Occasionally there are rescue cats available for afoption. There's a grooming dept., fish and fish supplies too. Everything you need and everything you think you need is here.

Your employee, Emma, was very rude and did not really listen to our request, as we wanted african dwarf frogs. She asked us questions regarding our care at home for the frogs, which is very understandable, but as we told her over and over that we infact do have the proper care for the frogs, she kept shutting us down and not helping us with the frogs. All i saw from this woman was a teenager stereotype and a rude behavior. We left petco frogless, even though we have the proper equipment at home. Who is she to assume that we aren’t equipped to take care of frogs? Get better employees!

Just hung up with someone at Petco in Studio City. It is the second time the can`t finished a 25 Lb maltipoo because they claim that the dog is a little " too jumpy" to finish its cut. Last time I dropped the pup at 11 AM and only at 3PM I was told that they were unavailable to finish so I HAD to bring it back the day after like: I have nothing to do or I am hanging around the area to finish. This is not regarding the staff, this is the management that unfortunately if out of knowledge what going on the store.

Petco has improved their website and it is now very easy to use. I ordered with curbside delivery and the order was immediately ready for pick up. When I arrived at the store I only had to wait a couple of minutes for the sales associate to come to my car with my order. For security they ask for identification. I strongly encourage everyone to support companies that offer this quality of service and further, whenever possible shop at their local store. If we don't they won't survive and we will miss them.

This is my first try at petco. I'm really a regular customer at a competing store. I ordered over $50 worth of items for curbside so I can have the promo discount. When I get there my orders were reduced below $50 losing my minimum curbside discount. I really needed the stuff so I purchased again but I might just cancel all my subscriptions and go back to the original store I go to because I feel scammed. If I knew this would happen I would have never opened an account and ordered curbside pickup.

Had my pets groomed with Channa. She was amazing and accommodated me and my two dogs by helping me reschedule both pets in the next day (Saturday). She was attentive, helpful, gracious when talking to me about my pets. She made me feel welcome and like I was important. I will be taking my dogs to be groomed by her from now on. I wasn't sure about taking my pets to a Petco Grooming until now. I had a bad experience with a prior pet and swore not to come back to Petco.

Normally 5 stars. Today before 4pm I asked for assistance from a female groomer (I as told by another employee), she wore the big apple AirPod Max headphones as she was doing stuff in the aisles. Not a professional look. She looked at me like I was bothering her. I was a bit uncomfortable. I asked if she was busy, she said “what do you need.” Very dry and rude. I later asked a guy for help instead. He was excellent! Professional and very helpful. I saw no name tags.

Came in today looking for some aquatic plants, small fish, and a snail to liven up our turtles' lives. Jack (?) Was really helpful and patiently dealt with my various and seemingly endless needs. I had lots of questions and he was happy to answer all of them! It was clear that he is familiar with several local aquarium hobbyists as I saw him greet a couple people by name and talk with them about their setups. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff overall.

Rewards is the way to go when shopping at Petco. Staff is always friendly & helpful, esp. Lisa (who wears the cat ears headband). If I had a business, I would love having her work with me. She enjoys her job and it shows, which is rare now days. This week, Jack helped me unload my 28 lb. cat litters to my car. Mucho gracias!! Prices were noticeably higher this last visit for cat food. Get online, select your major items as add'l discounts are offered!

Emily was extremely helpful and listened to what I needed for my dog to be functional for her daily life, older dogs sure do love to sleep, and she took in the problem areas but still was able to keep the same shape for my golden! She knows her dogs and was able to take quality time with my dog but also patience since it takes a lot longer to groom the older folks! Thank you again Emily, Shyan is looking and feeling amazing!

Today we went in to get dog food to help out our dog's very sensitive stomach. Roger and Taniyah helped us pick out a number of options. Roger knew everything about each brand and even had the percentages of each kind memorized. They were so friendly and made what would've been an overwhelming experience, easy. Our experiences have always been good here, but today these two really went above and beyond.

They were a bit pushy but backed off after insisting I follow medical criteria of wearing a mask. I declined. They didn't escalate the situation and sold me the products I was buying. I would give them more stars honestly if they cared less about a few things like Leash and my face.. Merry Christmas. Well behaved humans. I'd give them a treat but my dogs wouldn't allow it.... Hahah

I was very impressed with the service here. I got two puppies and had no idea what to do to train them. I got a very knowledgeable associate who loved animals. He said do not put them in the same crate. Use two different ones. He showed me the best food. Even treats that would keep them the busiest! Everything he said worked. I would highly recommend Petco for your animals.

The first time I took my dog here, it wasn't great. Our groomer was late. And, when they did show up, they rushed me through checking my dog in. Felt almost like I was keeping them from something. We went back because my schedule was limited and my dog was stinky. And, I'll say this, it was great. Groomer was friendly. No issues. I'm gonna give it another shot soon.

The staff here is super nice and very helpful. We are building our first salt water tank and the team here gave us great info on starting out. Also, their aquariums were on sale for a great price. It's a bit understaffed since we had to wait a few minutes for help. There is a pet grooming service which we did not use. Plenty of parking in the back as well.

Most recently we were at our neighborhood PETCO in Studio City for Skye’s bath, extras, including a haircut. Whichever Groomer cares for my pet, she has a good experience & greets me as if she enjoyed the TLC & knows she looks great. The entire staff is friendly, capable, professional, and caring. Although a lot of products are usually out or not found here - the associates who work here are phenomenal! They listen, are so patient and kind. They always go above and beyond to help. Some staff members are amazing. A majority here literally seem genuinely bothered you're there or ask any questions. Only petco I've experienced this deep lack of customer care. I've asked for the manager before and she was the worst one of the group. It's definitely a culture thing here. Go try another pet shop or nearby location.

I love this Petco. The staff and service are great! There is a Petsmart closer to my house but the staff are not engaging, knowledgeable or helpful. The staff look you in the eye, greets you, asks if you need assistance, and knows what their talking about. This store should be recognized. Thanks!

Be careful when going to this Petco location... the employees here not only they are rude but they also tend to increase the prices only because they are located in Studio City. If you go to the Van Nuys location on Sepulveda, you’ll find much friendlier staff and better prices.

I'm not a super fan of the Vetco here but the costume service rep named Jack is PHENOMENAL! He should be the store manager (no offense current store manager). He is beyond sweet, attentive, helpful, & impeccable memory. He truly cares about animals and reptiles. He's the best!

If you need anything for your four-legged or four-finned friend, visit this store. The staff is well educated and friendly, the prices are great for high-quality items. It is clean, and things are easy to find. A clerk is always nearby to answer your questions. Three paws up.

This was Emi's first trip to the Studio City store for grooming and the experience was really really good, she was happy, they took good care of her, they appeared to be very caring and considerate and I was overall very happy with the service.

I only went in for a pickup but yesterday, I bought aquarium plants and snails. I had to return one of the plants as I did not realize the cost until I checked my receipt. The service rep was very pleasant and assisted quickly with the return.

Now that Petco is doing mailings twice daily or more to emails -- I am thinking of switching to Petsmart. It is really annoying that Petco thinks I want to get emails from them all day every day. I know other customers that are fed up as well.

I have a petco a few blocks away from my house(Burbank) but I make the 20 min drive to go to Petco in Studio City. Staff is very knowledgeable & friendly . Ian is the best! He helped us select the food, plants and fish for our aquarium.

Kitty litter refill scoops are all broken. Had to improvise using the funnels and my hands which made them very dusty and dirty afterwards. Also, their selection is a little smaller than most other locations because they are so small.

The Studio City store maintains a stocked treat bar with a nice selection of non-grainfree as well as grain free treats. My older dogs won't eat the hard grainfree treats so this store allows me to give them their favorites

Have to give a huge shout out to Danny in the grooming department. We don’t go to anyone else for our 70 pound labradoodle for haircuts. He is so good with her and an overall super nice guy! Highly recommend grooming here.

Newer foods, replaced Fancy feast with other types of food which my cats do not like to eat. Doggy likes Fresh Pet but Petco took out the fresh toppers that my doggy Just Loved...now she picks at her food.

It is in and out quickly if lot in back is full there is underground parking and some street parking as well. They are friendly. Store is neat and organized. They are happy to answer questions as well.
