Good experience spoiled by nickel and diming. Premier Inns are usually my default choice when visiting the UK. They offer good value in basic comfort. But I am increasingly annoyed by their nickel and diming. I checked in an couple of hours early. The receptionist went to check if a room was ready for me, found there was, and then charged me £10 for an "early check in fee". What was I being charged for? The room was sitting empty and ready for me without any extra work. I could understand if a member of staff had to prioritize making up a room for me, but that wasn't what happened. Why alienate customers with penny pinching fees that pay for nothing the customer is actually receiving? They advertise "free internet" but the service is too slow for anything other than downloading and sending text emails. There's an additional charge of £5/day for Internet of a speed that most people need. Why not just up their daily room rate by £2 and offer adequate Internet speeds as standard?

When we arrived at this hotel it was late and got greeted by a member of staff to check in. In this hotel it took slightly longer than most others due to the questions asked which I felt were not needed. When we got to our room it was colder than I expected but soon brought up the tep with the room heater, the room was clean and up to the usual standard and all usual amenities topped up. The bee was very disappointing (a brick wall). The strangest thing was the breakfast which is provided in the hotel for the size of the hotel the restaurant is tiny approx 6×5m however it was well equipped and we were seated promptly , the food was all so good. Checkout was as easy as All ways. Overall a good night with a good price.

One of the worst premier inns we've stayed in. Usually you know what you are getting and can rely on a premier inn being clean, but this one was not up to the usual standard. Mouldy ceiling, dirty teaspoon and dead daddy longlegs on the floor... There were also spare duvets under the bed that said for housekeeping, which we thought was a little odd - surely these should be kept out of sight and away from guests? (Especially in the current situation!) Checked in very late and exhausted, so couldn't be bothered to complain as it was just a convenient bed for the night. Two stars as we slept okay and, as mentioned, the location was convenient.

A clean hotel with modern rooms and great staff. I cannot emphasise how lovely and approachable all of the staff were - They really added to the experience. Rooms were quiet and the quality of the breakfast was significantly higher than other Premier Inn hotels which I've stayed at recently. Parking is a little limited, which is worth considering in advance. A colleague who lives close by recommended that we try somewhere to eat other than the affiliate 'Brown Cow' and we opted for the 'Black Olive' down the road, which was excellent.

Standard expected Premier Inn quality. Showers are good and warm. Large carpark situated at rear and good convince to local shops. Was disappointed to discover on arrival that they only serve breakfast on site and could not upgrade to their meal deal option as the pub next door is not affiliated with Premier Inn. In other sites I have stayed they normally have a pub next door and are able to have a meal deal and breakfast the next morning for a price of £25. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and even have a box of Yorkshire tea on the counter offering you a proper brew.

  • Geoff Edge

Location for our needs perfect. Not told about breakfast when booking in found out from the Pub next door. Rear car park entrance is a good ldea, except on night when those who smoke talk loudly and pee up the wall underneath our bedroom window ruins what should be a restful night. Window had to be open because the room was so hot, with an ineffectual fan. Continental breakfast a waste of money as most of the fruit had gone for workers lunches, and was not replenished

Four of us stayed in 2 rooms which were very clean and comfortable and they have plenty of parking available. Excellent value for the money. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. They only have a small breakfast area but the food was also prepared in relatively small amounts which meant that it was always freshly cooked instead of being cooked two hours previously and just left to keep warm. The Premier Inn is also directly next to the Brown Cow pub which offers pub grub and a wide range of beers. Would definitely visit again.

It was a very spacious, comfortable and lovely room with a soft bed. Contactless key card upon entrance to the hotel and room makes you feel very safe and secure. I had a really good rest. I would definitely come back again if I'm in Leeds.

Nice, quiet, comfortable and clean hotel room (which surprisingly included a fan, shows how warm it was). Situated adjacent to the Brown Cow pub, where we enjoyed an evening meal. The breakfast was delicious and very well organised, with time-slots allocated to reduce congestion in the breakfast room. So much better and more organised than allowing everyone to turn up and queue - should keep this process post-covid, much better. Good location, easy to find off the M1. Would definitely come here again.

First time I have stopped at a Premier Inn. Based on this experience it will not be the last. Got a great price on a two night stay. Room was good. Bed really comfy and black out curtains really work. The staff I had dealings with were friendly and efficient. Shower was powerful and water hot. Just wish they would put a grab rail to make it easier to step in and out of the bath to take a shower. Will definitely look at using Premier Inn again if I fancy a few nights away.

Typical premier inn, rooms are clean and modern. Wifi is available and plug sockets beside the beds. Rooms where quiet too. Car parking is available but the spaces are quite small, so good reverse parking is required. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming, but we're always away when I visited reception in the evening and early morning. Brown cow next door provides food and drinks. Coop local supermarket across the road if you need something else.

  • Daniel Graham

The premier Inn that time forgot. Not one of their flagship venues. Great for tradesman, not so great for anyone else. Mine was the only car in a car park full of transit vans. The rooms only come with a heater (although it looks like aircon) so although it's red hot in the rooms already you can only make it hotter. Basic and average.

We had a family room booked for just the 1 night (booked well in advance so able to make the most of the cheapest rate available). Room was big and the second bed had been made up for our daughter as requested. The breakfast room is very small, but the staff were absolutely fantastic (especially Sophie!), food was freshly made and served with a smile.

Stayed for 7 days on the lower floor. Constant noise from rooms above. No sound proofing or insulation. Changed rooms half way through saty to no avail. If you do decide to stay here make sure you are on the upper floor otherwise you won't get any sleep. Breakfast is nice and staff are friendly. Small breakfast room which isn't ideal in Covid times

My parents report:- stayed here overnight to break up the journey from North to South. Its within easy reach of the A1 with free parking. Cannot fault the place, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff and Covid control measures all in place - felt safe. Breakfast was served with a smile. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely clean rooms with tea coffee in room, also in the room TV, desk, ensuite toilet bath and shower. Towels provided. USB charging points, hair dryer. Big car park and a nice pub the brown cow next door with hot food and hot and cold drinks. Breakfast in the morning was in the hotel serving cereals, yoghurts, full English fryup meat and vegi options.

Thank you Claire and team. We had a fantastic stay! Nice comfy bed, clean room and bathroom. Claire the manager went out of her way for us on several occasions. Handy having a shop across the road. Pub next door quite expensive but Crossgates shopping centre and food outlets only a 10 min walk. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and clean room, accessible and uniformly presented decor. Staff could develop on their standard of customer-facing service and level of responsiveness as there was delay due to unattended front desk when trying to check-in. Good parking, and overall pleasant stay, that was thankfully quiet despite the time of year. Industry appropriate pricing and services, always solid choice.

  • David Taggart

Room clean and very functional however the staff both at reception and breakfast room were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, would definitely use again.

The hotel was fine. Can't say the same for the neighbouring pub, the Brown Cow and Dragon, whose building appears in the photo for this site. In there, I was amazed to find no attempt at social distancing and no masks bring worn. Had fish and chips. The fish was tiny, dried up, overcooked and buried in a huge batter coating which made it appear a decent portion. Very disappointing.

  • Mike Rouse-Deane

A really nice Premier Inn. Having been to a few around the UK, it was alright. It wasn't fantastic by any means. The staff were friendly but suggested some places for food which were fully booked upon arriving. The woman who manned the breakfast area was fantastic. Very friendly and charming. The room was alright, but definitely didn't feel up to par with others unfortunately

  • John Burns

We went to this Premier Inn because it was my wife's brother's birthday and she wanted to surprise him. Ok so why did we book Premier simply because of their advertising. The place was expensive, tired, dated, definitely not like what we expected.

Stayed 2 nights with my disabled wife and the only real complaints were the bed was a little too high for my wife to get into and the shower over the bath was a struggle. Other than that it was a very nice room in a nice part of Leeds with easy access to the motorway and loads of shops around the area. All in all an enjoyable visit.

  • Matthewt1202

Average premier inn, was clean and had everything you needed. Cons: Hotter than the 7th circle of hell to the point the room was near enough uninhabitable, no AC just a heater and a rotating fan. Breakfast is way over priced for what you are actually offered, better off just getting breakfast bits from the Sainsburys/co-op nearby.

  • Lyn Southern

Lovely room but expensive for what it was. No fridge, safe or bottled water in the room. Extra tea/coffee supplies have to be collected by guests from a cabinet in reception. However, it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Great stop over in Leeds, good location with plenty of parking. Large double room, quiet, excellent bed & facilities, lovely helpful staff. This Premier Inn has its own breakfast room, seating about 45, meaning you don't have to trek next door. Pub serving food next door or 15 min walk to curry house or fish & chips

  • Chris H

Friendly staff, good breakfast and free parking. Well placed for access to the M1. Our family room was fine, though smaller than in some other Premier Inns. The towels were getting a bit thin and the corridors smelled of paint, although the website had warned me that renovation work was in progress.

A better standard of the room(beds/mattress) was expected for £50/night. TV remote wasn't working! Breakfast was £9.50 for each adult but this meant that the children ate for free. It was a full continental breakfast on offer too, which was far better than we thought it would be.

  • Giuseppe Ferri

The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was less so: although the cook made a good effort, she has a lot to learn about presentation. Work on the philosophical principle that "Less is more" and "Looks are important" (At least when it comes to food presentation).

Unbearable heat. No air conditioning in my room. Steady +28 over the night kept me awake - as windows were to small to ventilate the room, and road behind it was quite busy from 4AM on. Staff friendly and helpful, but it can't compensate for another sleepless night.

We arrived Tuesday, asked for an extra sheet but never arrived. Managed to get one last night. The wifi is incredibly poor unless your prepared to pay for it. Thank goodness for 4G. Other than that it's nice, clean, fairly quiet, easy walking distance from shops.

Very convenient Premier Inn, plenty of parking and friendly helpful staff. This one has a breakfast room on the ground floor, usual good breakfast. It’s easy to confuse the car park entrance with the pub next door, Google maps sent us there.
