Of the 3 Public Storage units I've had, this facility is up to par with the best of them. But the most notable part is the customer service and genuinely great energy shared by the staff. I ended up speaking on the phone with both Gisel & Alesha before arriving and both of them were extremely helpful and polite! Gisel called to confirm my rental and I could hear the smile on the other end of the phone! Alesha was able to resolve the technical errors that I was having with the online check-in system and made sure everything was set up and ready for me to just show up. After they both went above and beyond to make sure my experience was great, I absolutely had to stop in the front office just to say hello! The facilities were clean, secure, and more spacious than I expected. Metal doors and highly tamper-proof locks are on every unit I saw and my 5ft x 5ft space was easily 10ft tall. 25sq feet is so much more useful when you can make sure all of your tall items can be upright without hitting the top! Every step is pictured, including my 5x5 unit before I moved everything in. I also love the APP for getting in and out of all the public storage facilities I have rented. You can either punch in your access code every time, or have your phone ready when close by to each code lock, which includes entrance to the parking lot, entrance to the buildings, use of the elevator, and exiting the facility. The fact that this location is in downtown makes it a great value! I am not worried for a minute about the security of my stuff in this location. If you can get a size and price that works for you, don't hesitate on reserving it! Thank you Gisel and Alesha so much for being so amazing and making it a good time just moving into a storage unit!

Accidentally paid my bill twice in one month, noticed it the second after I did it and called to have the payment cancelled. They told me they couldn't stop the payment and would have to wait until it processed and then provide a refund. Once it went through I called again for a refund and was told they couldn't process a refund and needed to escalate my case to corporate so THEY could process a refund. Left messages, was given the run around and then apparently corporate also couldn't figure out how to process a refund so they just gave up and stretched it out until my next payment was due ‍♂️. You mean to tell me no one in the entire company knows how to process a refund? Luckily I'm not super pressed for money but what if I needed that cash? TERRIBLE customer service UPDATE: Just finished chatting with a rep and was told that Public Storage policy is not to refund electronic check payments and that I should have been told to contact my bank to stop the payment, but if I did that they would treat it like a check bouncing and charge me an insufficient funds penalty of $25....for an OVERPAYMENT in the same month where I have a $0 balance ‍♂️

Check my stats, i do few reviews, and never for average service. Ive been using this location for around 3 years now, and have for the majority, been content if not pleased with service, forgiving the rare subpare employees, since they dont seem to last long anyways. Kudos to ownership or management. Only 1 other time was i handled as well, where it was eother an owner, or a high level magement, as she admitted as much. Today, someone I hadntd seen before took care of an issue that typically causes a bit of run around and delay with previous employees. I was shocked how quickly she came with a more efficient solution that respected my time, and her business equally. Thats a hard balance for most to find. She effortlessly moved me from my irritable expectation of having to wait on phone calls and emails, and had me in and out in less then 5 minutes. Dulce a queen. Ive been considering moving locations recently as markets no longer the most efficient for me, and i rarely need assistance, but have let go of the idea, mostly cause if I do need help, i trust she will get it done. To be clear, all the staff are effective, she just stood out.

I was helping a good friend of mine move her things into a storage this past saturday and at first she was really uneasy with the homeless in the area but it turned out to be a great experience the staff were very helpful and informative. Latoya did an awesome job assuring my friend the property was a safe and professional location. The other girls were very polite and helpful with our move. I had to write a review due to such a sweet group of women.. You hardly find great customer service like that anymore. Especially being done in a decent amount of time was a plus!!! I would definitely refer others here.

The Downtown staff are great; very knowledgeable and friendly. Both Emily and Raquel assisted me in choosing the unit size that would be best for me. They actually took the time to help me get everything figured out and all squared away. Definitely felt like more than just another number and they answered every question I had. Moving into the unit was a smooth process, which was a nice change of pace from my hectic home move. The unit was a great size and easily accessible. The building and property are very secure; gives me piece of mind. I appreciate the great service and thanks for a good experience!

I was greeted with a smile and treated professionally. After describing the promotion of $1.00 for the first month and explaining in detail how the system works, it's hours etc. Jared showed me the unit I would be renting. I was extremely impressed with Jared, he was very knowledgeable, professional yet friendly. He did not rush me along the signing process, but instead made sure I understood everything. Even after all was done, he could see I needed help on getting to a specific freeway, he came out of the office and showed me exactly where to go. First time using Public Storage and I'm impressed.

Positive review first to the district manager and Ms. Evelyn who helped me after an incredibly frustrating interaction with Emily. Emily had a difficult time acknowledging the fact that she lacked communicating with me about their lock cutting policy when I experienced a family emergency out of town. Due to this interaction and her lack of empathy, I'll be leaving public storage this month after a 2 years of loyalty. I'm appreciative of the district manager for listening to my concerns after the fact, I however feel the damage is done. Thank you Evelyn for treating me with kindness and respect.

I underestimated the amount of stuff I needed to store so I went online to reserve the next bigger size. I didn't want to be charged the next month's rent on the smaller unit so I visited the office to see if i could move into the reserved unit. Chris was very courteous and helpful with the process. He found a unit in the same building as my existing unit so I was able to transfer my stuff that same day. I also had the Public Storage App so as soon as i finished moving into the bigger unit, i scheduled the "move out" for the smaller one and settled that account! Very convenient and easy!

I want to thank Public Storage for letting me store my stuff in there storage units for 3 months, i had no problems with none my stuff. Ive seen comments where customers complain with all the homeless but they are literally no problem there very harmless and there just doing there thing. Special Thanks to Jazmin for an amazing customer service and making my move in as easy as possible as she said it through the phone when i first made my reservation and also a special thanks to Chris and Raquel for helping me out as well. Terrible customer service and policies. I rented a unit and never used it. That’s fine that I was charged for those months because I had it reserved. Then when I cancelled online they charged me for the entire month starting the day after I cancelled. When I called and asked for a refund April the manager refused when I told her I’d be disputing the charge w AMEX she threatened to send me to collections. I will be filing a formal complaint with the better business bureau and the California department of consumer affairs. If you have a similar experience I’d recommend the same.

The lady employee who assisted me has got to be one of the worst human beings I have met in my entire life. When I went there the second time, she even accused me of loitering even when I just went back to my storage to check if it's properly locked. I felt really small with the way I was treated in this branch. I vacated the storage unit one day before my first month was about to expire, and to my shock and horror, they even have the gall to say now that I owed them storage fees when I've paid the one month storage rental fee on the day that I rented it.

I rented a storage unit this past weekend and worked with Mike. He was very professional, courteous and provided the best customer service I have received in many years. My move from LA was a nightmare due to a Budget Truck rental breaking down which had to be towed to the storage facility. Mike worked with the tow truck drivers to gain access to additional parking spaces, checked on my moving team as we were unloading, and continued to offer as much support as possible. I highly recommend Public Storage but Mike is one of my new heroes!

Gisel and Makayla make a great team and have excellent customer service skills. Both were very helpful, from something as small as helping me figure out a tricky lock (Gisel), to answering random questions (Makayla), as well as identifying the correct size for my storage needs (Gisel). They both made the entire process enjoyable and their friendly and helpful demeanor were very much appreciated!!! In fact, they were both a major factor in renting at this location, rather than find something closer to my residence!

Since I’ve been using this storage location I’ve had nothing but positive experiences! The location is very convenient, storage is extremely affordable, and the site is always clean!! Whenever I come in I am met by either Gisel or April who are always extremely helpful! If I ever have any questions I am met with positive attitudes and great customer service! They always exceed my expectations and go above in beyond in anyway they can! I highly recommend this site and would give more stars if I could!

The team here always goes above and beyond. I've been dealing with a 'friend' who I let store a few items in my unit, and then he promptly took the only key and left the state... Locking me out of my own unit and sticking me with the bill. April has been helping me with it since day one and is always kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. She's kept me sane during the three months of trying to resolve this and I'm so thankful for that!

I like the location but I feel like it should be a 24hr access location.. by the time the average person gets off from work, the place will be closed, 530pm is not good at all. For the money you pay, and don't have access to your unit.. not cool.. even the dumpsters are lock up, makes it hard to throw garbage. Personally I don't have time to look for garbage cans. Please unlock the dumpsters, at least during the business hours..

This public storage location is fantastic. Great location downtown and even better employees. Don’t be dismayed about the unfortunate folks living outside across the street. There is a homeless population nearby by the security and quality of the building are great. Emily and Raquel will help you with the check in process, show you around the property personally and answer nay questions you have.

Fantastic location! Easy to access, and a variety of spaces to fit anybody's needs! I moved into a smaller unit from my former apartment, and needed somewhere to store all my excess junk. Kareem and David really helped me find a space that suited my needs (5x10), and were simply the kindest and most attentive employees to deal with! It helps that the storage space is incredibly affordable, too!

Wow. The units are absolutely terrifying and the staff is dishonest. Avoid at all costs. They made a bunch of mistakes and tried charging me for it. It's a crime how gross their units are and it's really weird that they are trying to act like a publicly traded company. I'll be filing a police report. They tried to steal from me every chance they could and there were homeless people everywhere.

Such great customer service! Audrey and David were so helpful helping me pick out my storage unit. I was indecisive at which unit I should get and they were very knowledgeable and patient as well. This public storage has the most amazing customer service. Ana and Raquel has set up my storage and has made it so easy for me. The staff has left the doors open just a little longer to while I have been late. Every other storage location has been angry and aggressive if I come 30 minutes before close of business. Had a slight miscalculation on a Mil move, and Gisel not only helped me out with the initial unit, but the secondary one as well while getting me a unit with a deal that saved me tons of money. Jerome gave me superb service and assistance the very next day. Y'all are pretty awesome. Keep up the good work.

The other day my friends and I were moving in and the staff was extremely helpful. I called in the morning before coming to check out the place and Raquel was great with answering our questions. Once we arrived Evelyn stoped cleaning to show us around and give us more info! It was nice & well staffed, we highly recommend this location.

Awesome Experience at this location. Amanda was prompt to initiate the 1st call, and was super nice, helping me get a unit on a last minute request. Upon arrival, she was friendly, smiley, and professional. Within 30 minutes i was in and out. Plus they give you 30 days free when u sign up online! So overall she gets 5 stars from me!

Mike was the best. The best to do it! I would never write a review for a storage facility unless it was bad... this is an exception. Mike was the most personable, service focused, and all around authentically caring person I've ever dealt with in leasing a storage unit. If I were the boss, he would go all the way to the top.

Both elevators down, Stairs locked and no employee in the office for the past hour now. Absolutely no way to access your unit Update: employees were on lunch. I reserved a storage spot online before my move. The day before I went into fill out all the paperwork and what not. Mike was who helped me with everything. He was very sweet and professional and even was able to give the storage unit cheaper than what it was online. I highly recommend this place.

This is the best place to rent in downtown San Diego. Secured and there is parking. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Victoria was awesome, if you rent from here you will be lucky to have her assist you. I'm always thankful when a business is run well by a quality staff.

I had the worst experience of my life at this facility. not only was I treated terribly by the rude staff in the office but my unit was burglarized by the staff while I had no access to my unit the last month I was there ! I would avoid this location like the plague !!!

The staff was very nice and helped make the process easy. They even gave useful advice like taking pics of your stuff in case you have to make a claim. The facility was clean and easy access. Parking is a little tight so bigger trucks will probably take up two spaces.

I'm giving it 4 stars because the facility itself is around a 3 -- but the assistance and customer service from the staff is top-rated. They were very helpful in all aspects of both move in and move out. I was quite impressed with the care they give their customers.

DO NOT STORE YOUR THINGS HERE!!! Unless you’re ok with roach infestation and water damage. I lost my entire wardrobe and had a massive cockroach infestation and the management at this place could care less. I could not give this a lower review. Be careful here!!!!

For a downtown resident it doesn't get more convenient. The location is perfect and the staff is tremendous! Jazmin is a shinning star, always greats me with a smile and more than willing to go out of her way to accommodate customers! Couldn't be more pleased.
