I relayed the ideas of the style and type of engagement ring I wanted, as well as the band I wanted to accompany it, and the budget we were working with. Tim punched some numbers and got back to me with the specs within a day or two of what he and his team could create to fit within said budget (which included both the custom 3ct round bezel set Charles & Colvard certified moissanite stone in 14kt yellow gold engagement ring, and a custom matching 2mm chevron wedding band.) I handed the info over to my boyfriend and he and Tim did the rest over the last few months. My fiancé asked me to marry him on our one year dating anniversary, in the exact spot he had asked me to be his girlfriend a year before. When he knelt down and pulled out the ring, I was floored and absolutely taken aback! It’s STUNNING, and my first words in response were, “YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! SHUT UP! YES! Of course I will marry you!” At dinner, my fiancé told me how easy and simple the process had been, and how having Tim be able to explain things and to answer any questions he had eased a lot of the worries pertaining to the ring buying process. I bought a pair of unique 18k gold earrings in Ghana this past January that I adore...big hoops with a 3D loop...such a different design. I happily wore them home from Ghana and every day in the month of January until I broke one of the hoops. I didn't realize how fragile the earrings were due to being hollow. I sulked about it for a few months and then decided to see if maybe a jeweler could repair them. I went to a local jeweler and showed them my dilemma. I described the sentimental value of these earrings as well as the financial investment I'd made...they understood how important the earrings were to me. I returned after the first attempt, and the broken earring was disfigured and not close to its original beauty. Tim explained how unhappy he was with the attempted repair and asked if they could try again. He explained the intricacies of my hollow looped earring and asked for my patience. I’ve gone to Queen City’s Custom Jewelers for ring sizing before and today I finally broke down and brought a tangled necklace I’d been agonizing over for weeks to no avail. I really wasn’t hopeful it could be fixed but I wanted to at least try to ask a professional before giving up and breaking the chain myself to at least remove the charm. Let me tell you, Amanda was amazing!!! She had it half untangled before I left the shop and said she’d have it done by EOD tomorrow. But just two hours later and she called and had it fixed (at no cost)! I can’t explain how grateful I was as that necklace had been stressing me out in the back of my mind for quite a while. Honestly I can’t recommend them enough for all jewelry repair/sizing needs. The customer service is unmatched and all the staff are extremely knowledgeable without exuding any salesman looking down their nose at you vibes, like you often run into at other jewelers. I got engaged a few weeks ago and had to get my ring resized after losing a significant amount of weight. My ring size went down a whole size from the time my fiancé started the ring buying process to when he proposed. My ring came from a moissanite-specialty jeweler in Charleston, so living in Charlotte made it tricky to get back easily to get resized. My friend recommended Queen City Custom Jewelers for a fast turn around on ring resizing. I have some travel coming up this month, so I didn’t want to drop it off, leave town, and have it ready before I got home. I walked in on Wednesday to get it resized, agreed to the expedite fee, and came back on Thursday to pick it up and it fit perfectly! They also cleaned it very well before I picked it up. If you want something resized quickly, I highly recommend their service! The first picture is how it fit after the resizing and the second picture is from my proposal day.

Can’t recommend this place (and the owner Tim) enough! I brought by a custom necklace hoping they could fix a dislodged chain + charm. Not only did Tim talk me through the entire process, providing multiple flexible options of my choosing, but he offered to fix my beloved necklace free of charge! I was *blown away* by my experience - not just by his exquisite knowledge and craftsmanship, but also by Tim and his staff. Was recommended this place by a local who said this was a great jewelers. As a jeweler myself looked online and saw they had some really interesting pieces. Went in and was greeted by a young guy and asked about their collection and engraving services. Was told in no uncertain terms that I should have come in with prepared questions as to not waste time and that I would not be provided with “free knowledge” when I tried to ask questions. He briefly touched on the fact he didn’t know much somewhere between those two statements and when I asked to speak to the jewelers instead was quickly shut down. Hoping this was just a bad day for this guy as all other reviews seem really positive but definitely disappointing as I had come up from Atlanta all the way to charlotte.

My fiance and I had a custom engagement ring created using the center stone from a family ring and we couldn't be happier with it! We were able to make a one of a kind ring in about 6 weeks for a reasonable price with someone we felt confident was dedicated to bringing our vision to life. From the beginning Artem was very helpful without being pushy. We showed him photos of rings to model it after and he estimated the price range based on that. He created a couple of CAD options for us to visualize what it would look like and made many little tweaks to the computer models until it was perfect. Next he made a wax version and set the center stone in it to try on and make sure it was perfect before creating it out of metal. The end product was just what we asked for.

Tim and his staff turned my grandfather’s vintage Shrine ring, my grandmother’s solitaire and some diamonds from service pins my grandfather received while working for Liberty Life Insurance, into this beautiful ring. My son and Tim went to college together so Queen City Custom jewelers was a logical choice. This ring was actually 50 years in the making . The rings were lost, held hostage, pawned and finally my children purchased them and gave them to me for Mother’s Day. My grandfather’s desire for me to have a ring made has be fulfilled. Excellent jeweler. Tim, the owner, has helped me twice with repairs. Two years ago I brought in a relatives ring right before Christmas that needed a stone replaced. Everything was handled professionally. They even had the ring ready the day before Christmas Eve. Second time was recently, which I brought in my Hamilton watch for repair. This watch had been to Sumter's here in Charlotte for a crystal replacement. Apparently their watchmaker did not put the rotating bezel on correctly and it was out of spec. I didn't want to go back to Sumter's so decided to bring it to Queen City Custom. They were quickly able to correct the issue. Highly recommend this place.

I couldn't have asked for a better jeweler to help me prepare for my wedding. I am not the most organized person in the world, but Tim made sure everything was ready in time and provided some much needed guidance. I was able to design my own custom wedding band, which I love, and Tim hooked me up with a new leather strap for my dad's vintage Omega watch that was really important to my outfit. He and Amanda also cleaned my fiancee's rings, which were acquired elsewhere, at no cost right before the wedding. Everything worked out beautifully and I can't say enough about how great this shop is.

I took a diamond tennis bracelet here to be reset into a new bracelet. A very small diamond fell out of my wedding band that I had purchased online. I didn’t want to send it to another country for repair so I brought it here. Awesome customer service, my ring looks better than ever and it only took about a week for the repair. I have also had watch links taken out here very quickly and my husband has had a bracelet repaired here. Great customer service every time, would recommend this place! Initial encounter with dropping off my jewelry for repair was pleasant. Owner (Tnu) was engaged professional & informative. Pick up encounter was complete opposite. Same owner sat out front & did not speak to me or anything. Was like night & day difference. My jewelry was not repaired to state agreed upon when I dropped it off few day’s previously. I brought my ring in needing the diamond lowered quite significantly. It was set up way too high for my preferences! A friend referred me to QCCJ, and I am delighted I followed his suggestion. I was not making a purchase but needed several pieces repaired. Amanda was so so sweet helping my boyfriend and I as soon as we came in. We walked in just to see if they could clean his chain he’s had for awhile and it looks completely brand new!! They had such a beautiful display of jewelry and definitely gained two new customers!

Tim (the owner) was incredibly helpful in creating a custom wedding band for my fiancé! He helped us melt down gold from both sides of our families to create a one-of- a-kind band. He was very responsive and I would strongly recommend Queen City's Custom Jewelers!
