Now see most people don't like to tell the truth...you shall get it from me...I've been going to Read Seafood back almost and maybe 20 years ago...now I don't know if it's the same people from then but the food is most definitely NOT the same...it's still good but NOT as good...come on now I love seafood and I used to hit Read Blvd. up at least twice a week or more and chill on the Lakefront and I'm from Picayune...to make a long story short...there poboys aren't as good and neither is the shrimp...hold up now it's still hittin...they need to juuust NOT cook there food so long and they'll be back to normal. Still down with Read.

The people that work the register is always having side conversations in their native language. Very rude and inattentive to customers. The food is good but their seafood is also extremely overpriced.

This place was nice but my only problem was that the kitchen crew don’t know what extra heavy mayonnaise means on a poboy. My second issue was the French bread was not like the old school French bread that everyone in New Orleans came up on. Could be a sign of the times. They were one of many seafood shops that had all the boiled seafood available but it was not kept warm. Nevertheless I will return and give them another try in the future.

I went to order a 1/2 Shrimp and 1/2 oyster poboy, and when I got In my car I noticed that the sandwich didn't smell right. All the way home and had this pungent smell. When IOpen it up and I got home I notice that it must it was fried with old grease. I called them they told me to bring it back so I did and got a refund. How are you gonna cook with old grease. They used to be much better I don't know what happened lately.

HALF SHRIMP AND HALF OYSTER, 15 DOLLARS OR MORE 3 Oysters ON ONE HALF AND 3 OYSTERS ON THE 12 INCH FRENCH..THEY WERE MADE INSTANTLY NOW I KNOW WHY OLD STINK GREASE!! WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY DO TO YOUR FOOD!! GO TO CASTNET FROM NOW ON!! I told my.friend he will never pick the restaurant again lol

Terrible customer service. The workers have bad attitudes and don’t know how to speak to people nicely. I ordered pork fried rice over the phone and was given shrimp fried rice. The only thing good about this place is the egg rolls. I prefer Red Apple and Cajun Seafood over this place. They treat African American people horribly, yet they are quick to take our money. They are cancelled.

I live in Mississippi when I got home I ordered 12 crabs but when I got to the house I only had six crabs and I wanted to cry because I am a crab addict but however when I called back to the store they said the next time I'm in Louisiana that I can get my six crabs or either the money so they were very helpful and I look forward to going back to them.

I would never spend my money here again. I ordered a chicken wing plate and to my surprise when I opened it there was hair on the chicken. I called to tell them about the issue and was told there was nothing that could be done about it. I immediately took the food back and asked for a refund.

Selling swai for catfish. No flavor on super hard fried oysters or shrimp fries over done. Don't know if it was getting off time or what. But not good for $23

My experience was excellent ,Seafood was off the Chang from the crawfish,turkey necks,corn,and potatoes not to mention the crabs to ,I went back and got another round of 20lbs of crawfish ,was so good and flavor and seasoning just how I like it..the bests in the city ⚜️

My daughter is a fan of this place, I jumped aboard admittedly, I’m a special order person. So when I ordered yakamein with extra noodles I expect there to be extra noodles in the yakamein. Made a second trip to make it right, didn’t feel my business was appreciated.

Seafood isn't seasoned. Even though the crab legs are precooked, they're cold on the counter in an open pan or in the refrigerated case. So they reheat them in a chafing pan after you pay. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Cajun Seafood.

The turkey neck was alright. The hot sausage poboy was not good at all, though the bread fresh and easy to chew. The location is clean, less the bugs that were flying about and got inside. I would try something different on the menu once more.

Only a picnic table in this convenient store to eat at,,,more like a grab n go to enjoy the seafood. Shrimp didn’t peel good but we’re delicious, potatoes good n spicy from the boil.....corn was blah? Not boiled in the spicy pot.....

The cooked food just isn't the same. The grease is always old and you can taste that in the fried fish, oysters, shrimp. Once upon a time this was my spot! Now ppl still love their BOILED seafood... Always a line for that.

Good food..love the crabs..you can get them dipped in a butter spicey sauce..the platters are reasonable and good..lots of variety..boiled or fried..different types of ooey goey..one of my go to places for fast and good..

This place is so good and cheap. I ate so much I made myself sick. Very good seafood though. A bag of corn $2 a pound of crawfish $7.99 per lbs, $2 for potatoes, and $3 for sausage. OMG now y'all see why I got sick. Lol

Read has updated their look. The food is still consistent and the customer service is getting better. They still need to reorganize the front of the store and freshens the windows.

Recently went to Read Seafood and got a shrimp on french, it was really good. That was my third time going there, I got boiled seafood the first two times and that was also good.

Boiled Seafood used to be to good now it is the worst. No type of flavor just salt. Crawfish too expensive to be bland. Very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend to anyone anymore.

Boiled Crawfish had an amazing flavor, but it wasn’t spicy enough for me. Corn and Sausage was on point though! Definitely suggest giving this place a try.

Order 6 in shrimp poboy, and they each had about six shrimp. The tast of the shrimp were not good. It's one of the worst poboys I've ever had.

My mom loves this place so on my way to see her grabbed a plate for her. Opened it up and it was HUGE. You get lots of food for a great price.

The pie boys were outstanding along with the red beans and gumbo. My wife also go six of the steamed crabs which she said were great.

Crawfish were very small & expensive. Potatoes & corn was a few days old. Shrimp was edible but more expensive than crawfish.

Always cooked when ordered. Chicken is really good. Pepper not bad. Little shrimp on top they can keep. Salad was delicious.
