Review I received a phone call from Reading Cinemas Rouse Hill to address my complaint. I wasn't satisfied with the person who called because she told me that it is the parents' responsibility for the safety and care of my children. Yet it was a 'sleepy' staff member who misdirected my children to the wrong cinema room. Anyway, I let this go and later I received an email from their management who provided me in writing that the staff member was spoken to and hopefully that young man is trained to do the right thing and be more responsible toward paying customers. I raise from 1 Star to 3 Star upon being 'pacified' that management did respond. I'll give them one more shot. ********************************************************* [Original Review] Complaint sent to Head Office, I wonder if they'll reply? Good day! I purchased 2 tickets for RHTC being session 12/07/2023 at 9:45am for my two kids (15yrs and 12yrs) I watched them show their online ticket to the guy (blonde hair parted in the middle) at the check-in. He specifically told them that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is showing in Cinema 3, so my kids went inside said cinema room and were concerned that no one else was in the cinema room. After a while they got very worried and let me know. I then approached the same guy, asking which cinema is Spider-Verse showing and he told me cinema FIVE... 5!!! Not 3. I then told him why did you tell my kids it's in 3? He apologised and admitted his mistake. It didn't feel authentic. Had he wanted to be customer experience to be somewhat 'okay' to say the least, he could have followed up my kids and guided them to the right cinema. Wouldn't you do this for your children? Isn't this the way you wanted to be treated? Mind you the time was 9:45am and not many customer around, he could have done the right thing. Instead he just sat there, not a care in the world for two children. Please... can you please employ someone with a heart and a brain to direct your customers and at least care a tiny little bit for their wellfare. I give RHTC Reading Cinema a 1 out of 5. I'll also mention this same on Google Map to which I have a good viewship. People need to know what goes on in your cinema. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and not a reflection on the staff as a whole. There wasn't a sign at all to any cinema room for goodsake! Just HOPELESS!!! Let's see if they'll respond and 'do the right thing'

I would like to express my extreme disappointment with my last visit to the gold class cinema at Rouse Hill for the 6:45pm session to see Avatar last night ( 17th Dec). The line to order food was long and slow as one of the checkouts was apparently not working. We ordered popcorn and a drink to take in and hot food to be delivered at half time. We were told the popcorn would be delivered to our seat in a few minutes. It didn’t arrive. When a staff member later entered the cinema we asked for the popcorn and was told they would go and get it. It still didn’t arrive. We then had to leave the movie to go and find someone and was abruptly told they were busy, with no apology. It was eventually brought in about 20 minutes before the hot food. This would have been over an hour after it was ordered. We were interrupted shortly after to be told that all the pizza was sold out, which I find hard to believe. If this was the case we should have been told when we ordered it. We had to try and view the menu in the dark using our phone light ( staff offered no assistance) to try and order something else, which we did, however, our second choice was about $8 cheaper. I went to the counter after the movie to ask for a refund only to find no staff in attendance. What was supposed to be a “Gold class” experience was extremely disappointing, especially when the price of the ticket is supposed to reflect a higher level of service.

Been a fan of Readings Cinema ever since 2009. Then I was a regular of their Gold Lounge for late night movies whilst home was in Rhodes. Loved the service of Readings then, and love the service now … 12 years!!! Never had an issue!! When home came near Rouse Hill , remember rouse hill shopping centre, RHSC, opening in 2008(remember first visit with my elders) so been coming to Readings in Rouse Hill for more than 8 years now. Mostly watch movies in the Gold Lounge as it’s less people and greater comfort. The sound quality, service and meals/ drinks have always been good . Staff has always been super friendly. The bathrooms in Gold Lounge has always been clean. Needs an upgrade now though. Haven’t been to normal cinema in years but when I did go 2 or 3 times they were as clean . Cleanliness and good service has been maintained although I personally think that entire cinema needs an upgrade. However, me being old school I’ll stick to my Readings Cinema for now. ; unless my squad forcefully takes me elsewhere. Took my boy there today to watch Jurassic World Dominion. He is a fan of Dinos and has no issue with loud sound. He definitely had a great time. Movie was nice. Overall good experience like always .

I was very disappointed last night to not receive my drinks at the allocated time. I left the movie twice to find out where it was. I spoke to a manager and then she palmed me off to someone else because “she had to deal with another issue” her words not mine, very unprofessional. I spoke to someone else and they wrote down my order but that person didn’t even come up and apologize later on. Again, unprofessional. After waiting an hour, the food arrived along with our middle session food. Just ridiculous and disappointing. Didn’t even have time to enjoy all of it because common sense didn’t prevail and everything was served at once. It is really sad that this happened because it just detracts from the movie experience overall. I even double checked and spoke to the person putting it through what I wanted done and still this happened. I understand why I go further to Event Cinemas Gold Class because I have never had an issue from them.

We went to the cinema on the 5/09/2022 to watch orphan first kill. We wanted to watch the 9:15pm session but we arrived at 9:30 which is obviously late. That being said when we went up to the counter we were served by two people one male one female, and the male worker gave us the biggest attitude whilst he was serving us. He was visibly sighing, rolling his eyes and shaking his head in frustration at us. I wanted to say something to him but we had made a plan with a group of people to watch this movie so we didn’t want to ruin the night. But he was EXTREMELY rude towards us. If you don’t want us to watch the movie, then I would prefer him to tell us that it’s too late to purchase tickets rather than upset us with that poor attitude. That being said, the girl who was also serving us was super nice and friendly towards us after he practically stormed off into the back room. He needs desperate customer service training

So today at the 4:30 session of Avatar which I was attending with my daughter (I go often on my own) 11 youths came in an hour or so into the movie. I thought it strange that they would sit behind us and a mother with two children further back. Well of course they were there to harass us by screaming and calling out things. My daughter went to report them as soon as she left they all took off. My daughter luckily found a cleaner and she called security. Not sure if there was any security. When the movie finished at 7:30 there was not a staff member insight. You should feel safe going to the movies. There should be staff around monitoring who is going in at all times. Not good enough Reading. I know business is slow but you still have a duty of care.

We loved the experience. Went to see a movie on Monday night. Enjoyed there as it was quiet, clean and full of fun. The guys behind the counter were amazing and very helpful, polite and informative. The theatre screening the movie was also well presented and clean. We had a great experience probably because we went on a weekday night show. Accessibility wise also it is located well as it is right next to Rouse hill metro station and bus station. Buses and trains run till late and that's an advantage. But if you want to eat something after a late night show then mostly everything is closed there bit in the day time there are a lot of options as it's located in the mall itself.

I really used to love this cinema, however I watch ‘ticket to paradise’ in the gold lounge cinema 1 today and was vastly disappointed. I thought I’d treat my grandmother for her birthday but the recliner seats were disgusting. They were very badly ripped and dirty to the point they had no ‘leather’ left and you can see all the thread and damage to the seats, also they had barely any padding. The door to the cinema would bang back and forth the entire movie. I really should’ve left and asked for my money back because the entire situation really made me upset, especially it being a present to my grandmother. I really hope the owner of this cinema considers refurbishing.

This place used to be my favourite, but every time I have gone this year I seem to regret making the trip out or wish I would have gone elsewhere. When volume of customers outweighs the experience you may as well stay home and watch Netflix. Cinema screens are not even projected on properly, there has been issues with sound, last time we went everyone was boiling because the heat was on and it takes 30mins to change temperature, movie lights have been forgotten and it seems there are never any staff around. I don’t even know why people buy the tickets when no one checks. Anyway, it used to be the best, I hope they get it together because I lived going here.

  • Angel Brown

Attended on Sunday evening & was greeted with rude customer service by Kayla. She was snappy towards the customers infront of me, and when it was my turn I was met with eye rolls & huffs & puffs. Asked a simple question of whether or not I can add a popcorn onto a combo I had purchased (as that is what was advertised) to be told no & when pointing out the advert she rudely walked away to speak to someone behind the wall. The cinema & movie room hallways both had a gross smell (not the usual popcorn smell) & everyone was kept waiting outside from the allocated session time due to only one member cleaning the cinema.

  • Jor-El “Jor-El”

Always loved going here as it’s my local cinema. But recently they’ve been lacking. 1. The aircon is apparently set to 26C at all times, as instructed by their head office. But when you have a packed theatre, the body heat builds up, even in the middle of winter. 2. The place is filthy. Seats and floor are sticky and there’s a funky smell now. Pretty sure the casting couch is 10-fold cleaner. 3. Some of the recliner seats no longer work. They really need to do a regular maintenance check to see that they’re all working. I hope they consider the above points and look into bringing the place back to standard.

  • Cheryl Brown

We went to the Rouse Hill Cinema last night. We went to Gold Class, as a bit of a treat. What a mistake. We were in Cinema 1, My seat was D8 and I was appalled at the state it was in. The armrest between the seats was all scratched with the leather missing, it felt dirty and very unhygienic to the touch. My footrest was also all torn, with the leather missing in the centre and the edges all curled up. As we were leaving I noticed that most of the seats are in the same woeful condition. If you are paying top dollar to see a movie then you would expect a top dollar seat, which unfortunately we didn't get.

  • Michelle Nickols

I went to see Elvis by myself and the cinema was so clean and comfortable. I had a gentleman who I didn't know sit next to me and we both had so much room that we didn't encroach into each other's space. I usually go to Event Cinema at Castle Hill but I think that Reading cinemas is a lot better seating and you've got more room. I went to Gold Class and I didn't get my order during the movie and the manager gave me a refund and I was also given a free ticket to watch another Gold Class before the end of the year. The manager was so nice and she was very apologetic. Lovely lady.

Always a lovely experience at Reading Cinema Rouse Hill. Plenty of parking in the Rouse Hill Town Center Parking. park in the purple parking lot for easy access to the cinema as they have a lift that goes directly into the cinema. Always clean on walking into the the cinema and very friendly staff that always happy to help. We usually go to gold class and the ticket prices are the best around and the cinemas are clean, well spaced out. Love the new app that Reading have launched to buy tickets and check times for movies. One of the best overall cinema locations and experience.

  • Ishan Somasiri

Arrived for the 9pm show. Ordered chips at 8.45pm, was told that chips will be delivered in 10 mins and the buzzer will go off when it’s ready. Chips wasn’t ready by 9.10pm. Talked to the lady at Gold lounge cash register, her tone was very rude and said she couldn’t do anything given they are running low on staff. Was asked to take the buzzer inside the cinema, and come back when it buzzes!. Had to do that given no other choice. Buzzer never went off. When the movie was over, all the counters were shut. No one was there to speak. So I just lost my money.

  • concepcion galing

We’ve enjoyed avatar , the seats were very comfy , the movie took over 3 hours and it took us over 5 min to get out of the cinema .I was charged $5 for staying 5 min in the carpark !!! Walking back to my car took us over 5 min as we were seated in the back of the cinema , going down the dimly lit steps took us awhile to get out considering the people going out as well. I think the staff should consider or give at least 10 min extra of parking , not charge $1 a min .

  • Janssen C

Only cinema in the area i think. It's not always clean, you dont see a lot of cleaners so even the hallways to the cinema have popcorns etc. What's good about Reading is you can purchase tickets and choose seating online. Tip: pre order food when you buy tickets online so you dont have to line up. Just pick it up in the counter. Most cinema has spacious, reclining chairs and has a good view of the screen. Out favorite is Titan Luxe and of course Gold.

  • Daithí Kilcourse

Reading cinemas in Rouse Hill is our preferred cinema. We go gold class most times as it is a lot cheaper, almost half the price of other gold class cinemas prices. It is a clean cinema with very friendly staff. There is a car park with a lot of spaces underneath the shopping complex 5 mins walk from the cinema. It has 3 hours free parking and the cinema offer 1 additional hour with your ticket. Recommend for everyone for a great movie experience.

  • Mark Abella

We watched in a luxury cinema. The seat was fine. The sound quality was below average. Toilets were filthy. Someone I know watched in the Gold Class but they've mentioned that they'll never go back there again cause it's run down and filthy. I did watched few years back I thought the same. Reading cinemas has a competitive pricing for their tickets. But soon people will rather pay a bit more for a better and clean experience.

  • Muhammad Usama

We received some excellent service at Reading Cinemas Rouse Hill today. We had accidently booked an extra ticket online, but the manager helped us with getting that fixed up and also rescheduled us for the next movie slot as we had missed the beginning of the one we had bought. She was excellent in understanding our problem and really went out of her way to fix the issue for us. Exceptional service!

  • Rob Cann

This was very far from a gold class experience, the movie was great, the cinema was very comfortable, but worn. It was very cold. We could not enjoy the lounge before the movie as it was too cold, also it was very cold in the cinema. I understand everyone is trying to make money, but in the middle of winter you expect warmth in the cinema. Do better Reading Cinemas.

  • Ashruti Joshi

Have been there many times. Always got awesome experience. But yesterday in gold class, Seats were full with popcorns. We ordered main course in first half of the movie, but got it with entree. Even movie was not started yet and we got our order. So we had to eat our food while watching trailers. When I tried to mention this to one of the staffs, she didn’t care.

  • Bryc33

I called this afternoon at around 4 o clock to see when the last showing of barbie was and this lovely young man named Dylan came on the phone and said no worries let me find that for you. He then engaged in serious discussion with his manager which i heard over the phone and from there he told me its last showing. Thank you Dylan you sweet young boy.

  • Danny Lai

Great Cinema, has underground carpark from Rouse Hill Town Center. Carpark near Coles Supermarket side. Also Reading Cinema is near Timezone so u get a fair idea of location. If u r driving use carpark if not u can take the bus or the Metro tram so location n transport is convenient. Also town center has 2 food courts Maccas n KFC is available

  • Tim

Great to be able to get back into the Cinemas. Gold class is one of the best we have been too, service and food where spot on. Only down side is the spacing of the seats. Person in front put their chair all the way back, and with my feet on the leg rest, their chair hit my feet. But I am 6,6 so can't really take any rating off for that.

  • Varuschka Sangster

The cinema itself is fantastic. We were on time for our movie last night to watch the much awaited “where the crawdads sing” It was the ladies night premier and they only had one person serving Woking with a massive queue. We missed the first 15 min of our movie because of the slow service. This is unacceptable. So disappointed!!!!

  • Kieran Vella

Titan Luxe is ALMOST the most perfect cinema experience you can get in Sydney. Amazing Atmos sound, comfy seats, friendly staff. Unfortunately the experience is marred by the over bright stair lighting that casts a red wash all over the screen. If they could fix that (and keep it fixed) it would be THE ultimate cinema experience.

  • Stephen Cole

I saw Avatar 2 here just recently. We got the leather seats that recline. The cinema was good, the sound was on point as well. The toilets were a disgrace. However, I don't blame the staff but the people who completely ruin the space by intentionally making things filthy. It was so bad I had to hold it!! Three hours later....

  • joanna paradesi

There is a very good sound system in the cinema hall, the snacks are very tasty, and the first few rows like A-F are in good condition, however the rest of the rows are all ripped, and the seats are not working. Even if it is functioning, it is unclean. There are no staff members available to inform them of the situation.

  • Peter Agamalis

Been of course many times and frequent the Gold class section. All is well though they may need to fix the few broken chairs...and the counter service in the middle day is lacking staff despite pressing the buzzer 8 times for service, but not complaining, we just went to the main section and got served in normal fashion.

  • Lisa Xerri

Went to a “Gold Class” movie, seats are ripped and worn, toilets are filthy, looked like the floors hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. First thing I noticed upon coming up the escalator was how dirty it was and it didn’t get much better after that. Used to be a nice cinema, not anymore.

  • Casey Maree

The cinema is in terrible state, seats are damaged and scuffed, it is always dirty, the bins are not big enough for the amount of people attending. Additionally, the movie sessions are only currently uploaded to this Wednesday (today is Monday). Poor planning and management.

  • Brendan Millett

A nice find. We have been very impressed with facilities and they have been Much cleaner than event cinemas. Bigger seats even in the standard seats. Gold class is great and offers a positive experience. Good car parking available and a huge range of restaurants outside.

  • Jake Rivers

Overall, it is going to be a good cinema experience. Its location near restaurants and Rouse Hill metro station is convenient but does lead to it becoming rather busy on Thursday nights + weekends, but that's to be expected. Popcorn sometimes tastes but cardboard lol

  • Joshua Sacca

Had a great time and a great experience almost every time I have been. The lady at the gold class lounge was a little temperamental at best, thus lost star. The prices are great! Location is awesome. Screening times frequent. Staff helpful. Gold is worth its money.

  • Anthony York

Saw Oppenheimer on Monday 7 Aug 23, 1:45pm session. The sound was too loud, the background music drowned out the dialogue making it hard to follow the story. Suggest Reading get their act together and adjust their atomic sound system to compliment the movie.

  • Naomi Gostner

First time visiting this cinema, we were in cinema 5, and it smelt badly of Urine throughout the whole room. Lots of rubbish left behind on seats and not cleaned up by staff from previous movie sessions. Seats were new and very comfortable, that is all.

  • Rhunita Khalde

Never liked the entrance of this place. The entrance area can be nicely done by putting various nice movie posters but it lacks that at Rouse Hill reading cinemas. The food bar is good. Movie ticket kiosks are available for advance booking and printing.

  • Johnny Davey

They have been very competitive of late. Revamped seating, cut ticket costs, amazing service & super helpful/ friendly staff. Have definitely been convinced that cinema isn't dead because of reading cinemas. Will be frequenting there often. Good stuff.

  • Timothy Glasheen

Movie was good , seats comfortable. Only issue I had was staff didn't know how to make a flat white coffee. As I was drinking it I realised it had chocolate on-top like a cappacino. Was in movie so I couldn't really complain or ask for a replacement.

  • Shayne Tuckwell

Such a shame to see this theatre deteriorate. Gold class seats ripped and torn. Food trapped down the side of seat. Toilets needed a good clean. If you want people to come back to the cinema, you have to make it a real GOLD CLASS experience.

  • Keith Jenkin

Close to the Rouse Hill Metro station, it is easy to find, automated ticketing machine making tickets easy to procure, Staffed snack bar, nice comfy theatre seats with plenty of leg room. The Book Club 2, we nearly cacked ourselves laughing.

  • Jade Keefe

Went to line up to get drinks DURING my movie and there were 2 servers and everyone was lining behind the one server, so I stood behind the server with no line and was refused to be served. I’m sorry but it was rude we paid $60 for a ‘gold

  • Nicole M

Given how much I'm paying for my frozen pizza and for the tickets it would be nice to sit on a chair that isn't filthy or ripped apart... This place is run down and needs a refurb. We pay enough at the movies. Come on guys. It's disgusting

  • Natalie Johnston

Normally I don't have an issue with this cinema (Rouse Hill) and I don't often go out to see a movie in cinema, but when I went to go see Smile on 15/10/2022 @ 6PM I was appalled by how the audience behaved. The constant loud chatter and

  • Krystyna Krawczyk

Stay away from Gold Lounge 3 at Rouse Hill Reading Cinemas. Our reclining seats were falling apart, and had popcorn scattered over seats, the leather was dirty, frayed and coming apart all over, plus no lights were on before or after the

  • Evgama

Pros: way better than event cinemas in every way. Leather reclining seats, cleaner and better value (usually) Cons: was charged $5.50 for a bottle of water last night…. Are you joking? Talk about daylight robbery

  • Antonio Logronio

The lady that served us was awesome n friendly, the cinema itself and it's facilities including its toilets were very clean! Perfect cinema house in my opinion 5 st⭐r rating from me! (I'm) a very happy/satisfied customer!!!

  • Manx

Excellant location with parming. Prices ok. They have good day time ticket prices. Good for a day out with shopping and restaurants. Only bad point is the front of house public areas are not clean. Other wise good cinema.

  • David Fenderson

This would be my 2nd time at the movies this year. The cleanliness of the place was mediocre at best, and every single rubbish bin was overflowing with heaps of additional rubbish piled on the floor next to the bins.

  • Kaarthika Nizham

Was disappointed at the sound quality at the Titan Luxe cinema when we went to see recent spider-verse movie. Could literally hear chewing, wrapper sounds in the audience. That’s how poor quality audio it was..

  • Kazi Ahsan

Be aware that some spoiled young boys + girls go in late night shows. They do pretty much anything and everything! Their ongoing activities become clear destruction for other people who go there to enjoy movie.

  • Alex M

Love a good movie night, but this cinema is run down, The gold class seat didn't recline, one of the screens has black marks on it. It's still a good cinema just not the premium experience you might expect.

  • Valeria Pashkova

Great experience. Well maintained cinema. Golden Class is conformable. Friendly staff. Good coffee. Tip: weekend morning sessions are affordable and not very crowded. Cinema ticket comes with free parking

  • Glen Soans

While the cinema itself is good I have not given 5 stars due to cleanliness. Was at the Dolby atmos screen last week and the seats had left over pop corn . All visible but not cleaned by the attendants.

  • Damien Penza

Absolutely disappointed in the so called gold class the quality of the seats are appalling and not to mention inbetween the seats was filthy and full of maggots and chocolate and lollies …

  • Saihej Bhangu

Easily the best cinema in the Hills District in terms of screen size, seating and audio - and the titan lux experience with Dolby atmos is great. Good value for money compared to Event’s VMAX

  • Sarah B

(Gold class) Lack of staff. Food was underwhelming. Popcorn was good! Margarita was not made well. Recliner was great apart from its material is falling apart. Not worth it unfortunately.

  • Giuseppe B

Love coming home been coming here for years Love bringing the family here The quality of the service the cleaning this is always top of the range I highly recommend this movie theatre

  • Toni Smith

Inside theatre is great but first appearance on entering complex is dark and dingy. The carpet on the way in is so dirty. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned for years.

  • Miguel Reyes

The AC for the facilities hasn’t worked for my last two visits in 2 weeks leading to a sweat bath for 2 long films (Blue Beetle and The Creator).

  • Cameron Zimmehl

Nice and cheap compared to Hoyts but seats could be able to lean back a little. Your back is so straight from the seats it hurts your back little

  • Buzznut

Nice standard cinema, enjoyed the audio and visuals, easy online booking and decent prices for popcorns but soft drinks were kind of overpriced.

  • Matthew Woolley

first time going to the movies since the pandemic. The movie experience was ok, the cinema itself has seen better days as it's a bit run down.

  • Benjamin Freckelton

Good facilities, good do with some managerial supervision at the time that I was there, seemed a little unorganised with cleaning of our cinema

  • Theresa Lane

Love coming here because it is soo much cheaper than all the other cinemas but the screen is bigger !!! And recliner seats are soo comfy.

  • Kh Islam

This place needs proper cleaning and maintenance! The carpets to the entrance are stinky while Rhodes cinema is pretty well looked after

  • Margaret Sheil

Had a movie night with my bestie. Had place great service. Cinema nice and clean and rest rooms so well cleaned. Will come here again.

  • Amitesh Naidu

Ticketing and food service needs to be more efficient especially ones bought online. Otherwise nice clean cinema

  • Aussie Kattans

Wonderfully surprised by how clean this place is. A good spot to watch some favourite movies with your family.

  • Mark Ng

Seats are big and comfy, but please turn on the air con. It’s too hot… cinema 1 at 7.45pm session today…

  • Vijay Chidambaram

Worth the money you spend. On par with bigger brands but at a much cheaper cost. Highly recommended

  • Lucy Loo RBLX

We always enjoy watching movies here. Great atmosphere, price's, clean, nice and friendly staff

  • Santosh Reddy

Carpet is smelly. Theatres are small. And didn't feel like the greatest experience for sound.

  • Peter Howie (Surveyor)

Ok. The Indiana Jones movie was predictable and a bit boring. Gold class is awesome though!

  • Anthony James

Great staff. Cinemas a very comfortable. Better prices in food compared to other venues.

  • Shey G

I love fresh popcorn and they always make fresh ones. Prices are climbing now though.

  • Adam Braden

Massive lines to get tickets but cinema was clean modern and seating was great.

  • Love M

Its a great venue, the staff is very friendly and kind. The cinemas are comfy.

  • Syed m Yaqoub

Staff at the cinemas are always friendly and for ticket price it's good

  • Lynn Pasi HerStory Circle Chairperson Syd Australia

Slightly above average theatre, could be a bit more tidier …

  • Manthan Shah

Local cinemas. Variety of different class & great for kids too.

  • Charlotte Henry

Pleasant experience however the decor is in need if a refresh.

  • Glenn Besso

We had a great gold class experience with excellent service.

  • R D

Titan luxe is absolutely amazing, very reasonable prices.

  • Shikha Rao

Paid 14$ for the movie ticket. Great price and location

  • Vincent Maiava

Love this place. I recommend. Cheap $12 standard movies

  • Hema shankar

It would be more comfortable if it was recliner seats.
