After finding my pet on deaths door on Thursday and getting no help off many vets that I contacted . I rang this vets for help I explained my situation and was told to come down ASAP. On arriving my partner was struggling to carry our cross mastiff . No help off staff just quizzing if we had rang and asked to explain our situation all over again even though I had explained everything half an hour before we arrived . Meanwhile my partner is out of breathe and still struggling to keep hold of our baby now balancing on his knee . Asked to carry him further to a room and put him on the floor !!! To be told were going to give him an overdose and his body will probably react badly to it . A caring vets would of had some support ready knowing we were on our way with a big breed who was ready for passing . We had our baby 14 years and was upset and struggling. We got told the crematorium would be in contact on the Friday. We didn't hear anything and my baby was left in limbo all weekend . . After contacting the crematorium myself i was told under no circumstances would they have rang me ! It was for me to contact them and couldnt understand why i had been told that .After speaking to a few ppl all I've heard is bad reviews from this vets .

Used to be ok and my cats have always had the best treatment however, they are now and have been for a while incredibly short staffed which means you're often seen at least half an hour later than your initial appointment. My cats, and I assume all other animals are extremely anxious of the vets so having to wait longer is a traumatic experience for them. By the time they get seen they are more than often too stressed for a thourough check up. After my consultation I had to wait another forty minutes for the medication as this had to be signed off by a vet who had moved onto the next appointment. Receptionists seemed overworked and last night there was one girl manning the desk and answering calls. I felt sorry for her. Hopefully will get more staff soon as I have been happy with them in the past however due to the cost of living crisis I have no choice but to take my cat to a more cost effective vets.

Our beautiful 10 year old german shepherd passed away Monday night. She had been under the care of here since being a puppy. In 2018 we found out she had a condition that would be life long. We were supported the whole way through this. She was an anxious dog that had nervous aggression and the vets were always accommodating, they went out of their way to make sure we could do what was best for our dog. Special mention to Dermot for all his help over the years and to Chelsea who was involved in the last months of tess’s life. You treated her with such compassion and always put her well being first. We received a card this afternoon from Chelsea and the team who sent their condolences. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. This is really hard for us. She meant everything to us but I can say I know she got the best care and her well being was always top priority. Love Becky and lee faulkner

Disgusted with this vets, rang them as my dog was having a funny turn, she couldn't stand up and was disorientated. Phoned them on the way up to them, in the car and they said that they were closing in 20 minutes and she would be better off going to the emergency out of hours as she may need to stay overnight. The receptionist was helpful and polite, she was only listening to the vet........They didn't know she would have to stay overnight but didn't have the decency to see her even though I told them I was outside, what kind of a vet wouldn't treat a sick animal, regardless of the inconvenience caused to the vet!!!!! 11 years I have been with them, never again will I use them, I am fuming with them and that vet should be ashamed of themselves!!! I couldn't post this without giving them a star but they do not deserve 1 star!!!

Max is my dog. I take him there since he was 8 weeks old he's now almost 9 years old. Anyway I take him to get his nails clipped. Because he has a condition that makes his nail break and bleed. And the pain he suffers is heartbreaking to my family. Two weeks ago we went for the nail trim. And the lady vet. Couldn't even hold his leg let alone clip his nails. Her excuse was ! They are looking not so bad so I'll leave those. Me thinking they know better. Hmmmm yeah u would but now Max is inn more pain because the nail the vet found difficult to clip. Has resulted in my pet in pain. If the vet done her job correctly then THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.im outraged because I told them if I don't get them all trimmed they SNAP and BLEED. They will get a ear full off me when I go back to avenue vet. Next to roundabout up vici ave

I cannot praise this Vets highly enough, from reception staff, nurses and Veterinary Surgeon Dermot, 1st class care, the surgery itself was very clean, tidy and comfortable, full explanations were given regarding my cat getting neutered, staff very pleasant and polite, I felt very happy and reassured leaving my cat Oreo in their care, we were kept informed after his surgery and when we picked him up a full explanation given and all instructions given for his aftercare, all questions answered, I then received a phone call the following day asking how he was, superb service, I wish to thank all staff involved and would highly recommend The Avenue Veterinary Clinic to all pet owners x Many Thanks Teresa & John Ostasz & Oreo

The only thing they do it's stealing your money like they did to me when I had my puppie.. I pay £300 when I had a free month insurance for my pet and they only give oxygen to my puppie. Then I had to get a taxi and pay another £40 to go to the pets hospital.. the only thing they told me it was they gonna transfer that money to the hospital I try to claim my money back because they didn't do anything to my dog! The vet it was a female and she was very rude and she's only thing about money!!!!! When i get to that hospital i pay another £17. Something and they told me that my insurance cover the rest of the treaments my puppie stay there over 3 nigths.. Never go to that vet they only want money that's all!!!!!

  • Ray Greenall

Caring for your pets but not your pocket. We buy our medication for our pet online because it is MASSIVELY cheaper than buying it from here. Recently we asked for a repeat prescription for our meds and were charged £27.58 just for a three month prescription (no meds included) we also needed five tablets to see us over till our meds came from our online retailer which the vet supplied at a cost of £3.03 per tablet!!! we pay £0.78 per tablet for the EXACT same tablets online. So needless to say we won't be going back here again (we've been cash paying customers for 15 years with this pet) . I understand that they have to make a profit but this is ridiculous. We will be parting ways soon.

after taking my 6 week old pup to be seen as he wasn’t weaning and I was extremely worried as he had become bloated I was given some milk replacer shown how to use it and sent away. I rang again the next morning after finding my puppy floppy and barely responsive for them to tell me they weren’t concerned and to feed him as usual. I told them he was crying and in the most pain I’d seen him and they said the vet would call me after he had finished operating. I never recieved a call and my puppy died a few hours later. DISGUSTED with this vet as clearly they hadn’t found the problem and just gave the easiest thought fix. Will never take any of my dogs here again

  • Sharon White

Our dog Harry has been registered with this vets for all his life. He's 12 now. Unfortunately he's got diabetes and tummy problems. Ursula Lanigan is his vet and she is superb. She always treats him gently and talks to him to calm him. We're currently having loads of problems with his tummy condition and Ursula has been so helpful in trying to find a solution and we've been keeping her up to date by email. I don't think Harry's got long in this world now as he is quite poorly but the professionalism of this vets is outstanding from the reception staff to the nurses to the vets themselves. I would definitely recommend them.

  • Darryl Conner

We had a dogue de bordeaux with hip issues and the vets strung us along paying for treatments saying refferral to specialist would be needed once treatment was complete, we had to threaten to report the vet to get the refferral in the end after becoming fed up with no action and regular payouts for pain medication. The specialist vet from near Liverpool said that the refferral should have been made straight away and that the vet was clearly trying to extort as much money as possible before then having the treatment needed. Clearly do t care about your pets and only care for your money in my opinion

  • Cameron

Took my Cat to the Avenue as he had a problem with his eye, I signed up for the healthy pet club while I was there, they gave me 2 types of antibiotics for it, the price of everything came to near enough £99.75, at the time I assumed most of the cost was for his medicine which I didn’t mind paying as it was for my best friend. When I got home I looked at the receipt, the medicine and healthy pet club all together came to £56.74 which had me scratching my head about what the rest was for. The consultation was £43.01, £10 of that was for an eye drop they gave him which is extortionate.

  • Ionut Truta

Awful treatment what i receive from them. After we have been for 4 years with them paid more than £2200 on some treatments without any results. And 3 to 4 weeks delays on emails and phone calls regarding our issue still they dont want to answer. Awful experience with them. Bad comunication regarding our issue Dont bother if we have an emergency. And wrong treatment when was needed. They didnt provide us with flea and worm treatment as we agreed when we paid direct debit each month. So please if you really keep to your pet healthy and safe avoid them.

  • kevin worrall

I have been using this practice for nearly 8 years and usually they are helpful ,however yesterday I telephoned because my dog is in pain when she eats, I think she has toothache ( we all know how painful this can be) however I explained due to financial difficulties I couldn't pay till nextweek, but because my dog is in pain now would they please treat her and bill me and I would pay nextweek, they refused. I thought they help as my dog is in pain but money first with these it seems and not the pet's I was disgusted and will never use them again.

  • Paul E

Have had mixed experiences with this vets after a poor experience late last year with one of their locums. However the most recent visit which sadly ended with the putting to sleep of a beloved pet of 14 years was a caring and supportive process throughout. Wassim Gafsi was our vet on this occasion and his concern care and compassion not only for our dog but myself and my mum going through this process is very much appreciated. The practise itself is also clean with helpful and friendly staff on reception also.

  • Adeline Bibby

This vet was recommended to us, and I would definitely recommend them too. The staff on the reception and the vets are always friendly, welcoming and professional. The vets will work with you to provide a solution that you're happy with. They also provide a free service and advice for overweight cats. Dermot in particular has been brilliant. We've been coming here with our 3 cats and one dog for about 5 years now. There are closer vets but I wouldn't switch. You're in safe hands here.

  • Anthony Taylor

Told us our pet needed xrays at £270 and likely surgery over £1300 without telling us anaesthetic would likely kill our pet. Gave it 2 shots at £15 each, without telling us the cost first. Animal trust gave us the full information and some anti inflammatory medication for £16. Our pet is completely fine now without expensive procedures. Only good thing was they gave us the number to the animal trust. Who were a lot more friendly and cared about the animals and not just your money.

  • Rebecca

All 3 of my cats are registered here, we had the unfortunate event of our youngest one Rio catching a viral infection, it was touch and go at one point but luckily he made a good recovery and the vets kept us informed all day whilst he was left with them on a drip for 6 hours, he came home that night. the Australian vet nurse (forgot her name) is so lovely! She’s a credit to your vets nothing is too much trouble and she has made my whole experience at this vets a pleasant one

  • Rachel Wall

I have been a customer here for the best part of 20 years and I have therefore, been through every process -literally from puppy check to checking out 16 years later…. To be picked back up again with a new puppy. Then we added a second. Then a third. Whichever vet or nurse sees our pups they always act entirely in the interests of the animal in front then. I always feel confident they are receiving the best care and as their human always feel cared for too.

  • Carol Woodward

Waited 30 minutes for them to answer phone. Give up in the end and will be moving vets to a more reliable one. So after your response 12 months ago I have phoned again waited 30 minutes in your queue and give up. So try again after 4pm. Currently waiting in queue again another 31 mins how long do I wait “ your currently next in queue “. Obviously, no change to your service. I give up. Don’t use these vets if you want to get your dog seen

  • Angela O'connor

I was told by the vet that my dog had soft tissue sarcoma and would cost me £1600 to have them removed without anymore treatment (x-rays and blood tests) would be needed after, which would cost me more money, I couldn't afford that so I took her the the animals trust in Failsworth and I got everything done for £600 and they we're brilliant and when the biopsy came back she didn't have cancer I was worried to death about her.

  • Heather Gallacher

I can only say good things about Regan's. Like everywhere else Covid hasn't been easy and the practice has had to work within restrictions and sometimes lesser staff. Nevertheless we always feel we get good common sense advice from the vets and great service. Amy and Dermot in particular have always looked after our pets very well and the ladies on Reception are lovely too. Thank you for all you do xx

  • Alien

Unfriendly, they said they were fully booked but when I waited half an hour and hour they were empty. They didnt look at my pet properly only just loomed at him. This is outrageous! Staff very Unfriendly. They said I had to pay £270 just for groomimg my pet. All they want is the money they want to steal! I would never ever recommend this vetinary. Dont take your pets very utterly Unfriendly! !

  • Yvonne Ryan

Just had to put our baby girl to sleep due to liver cancer at 8 years old. I cannot thank Dr Joaquim enough for the care and compassion shown to our baby girl during her short illness. He is an absolute credit to his profession. I hope he stays at this practice so If our other baby girl needs treatment I know she would receive 1st class care. Once again our sincere thanks to a fabulous vet

  • Julie Quinn

I had to take my cat Cam to the surgery as she was very unwell. Bare in mind this is when Codiv 19 is rampant. From phoning the surgery to getting Cam to be seen was excellent. The staff were very professional and caring, as always. Unfortunately, Cam had to go to sleep. Even then the care and thoughtfulness of the staff was beyond anything I could wish for. Thank you. Stay safe

  • Charleigh jade

Terrible vets took my dog is after being off for few days told he had ear infection & upset stomach given meds Then told had heart merma ( already knew about ) didn’t affect him was more interested in selling meds for that rather than my dogs health 3 days after being told it’s just a upset stomach my dog died only thing they cared about was selling more meds to make more ££

  • Mike Lomax

My wife had to take the dog as I was at work in sure it was just a sprain something simple, 36 pound consulation then 71 pound for 2 lots of 10 day tablets for athertis apparently, these tablets are 40p on amazon well 1 of them was, the dog is fine now back to her self, athertis never goes, like I said it was a sprain, I will be visiting the shop to confront the man

  • Daniel wilson

Friendly enough staff, But our appointment was at 5:45 and eventually got seen at 6:42, not a great experience, weather this was a one off, or usual, not sure as it was our first visit and this vet Updated... I tried calling today, I was kept on hold for 16 minutes, then finally someone answered the phone to the only hang up instantly...waste of time

  • Trisha Mason

Had to my cat SIMBA put to sleep due to being hit by car, all staff were so helpful, caring and kept us informed as to what was happening. Then the staff had sent a lovely condolence card and also took paw prints and clippings of his fur. Can not thank this fabulous Veterinary Clinic enough, SIMBA was well cared for till the end. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • Col Kimber

We recently lost our little dog Lucy and would like to thank everybody at the practice for their kind professional help over the years. We have nothing bad to say about this practice and would highly recommend them Colin Neilson owner of Lucy My sincere apologies I posted this review by mistake. I meant to post on Park vets

  • Clo Mo

Not registered here but can I say a quick thank you to the staff here and the vet. Our dog sadly passed away and we rang this vet to see if we could bring him to save him as it was the closest vets and it wasn't a problem, the vet checked for any signs of life and sadly wasn't to be. Thank you for that we appreciate it.

  • Isabel Dean

Our Manchester Terrier, Ellie, wasn't registered here but when she was having trouble jumping onto the sofa and as l it was a Saturday afternoon our own vets were closed. These vets were willing to see her and treated her with great compassion and reassured me that she was going to be alright. Thanks to all concerned

  • Jake Alexander

Always really attentive to my dog Ruby. Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff. Personal touch and plenty of compassion. They're all genuine animal lovers. I've had an emergency situation twice and both times they've always seen her immediately. Great vets. Thanks everyone.

  • Laura Gilbert

Refused to treat an injured cat as it did not belong to the person that rang the clinic. Another local serviced offered their help and scanned the cat's microchip, she was reunited with her owners and may have otherwise died as she was injured & left in the cold and rain.

  • Jamie Chadwick

Very good vets, very honest and treat your pets like their own. It's very clean the staff are very friendly and the Vets are very thorough with your pets making sure that everything your pet needs is checked over and always keep you upto date at all times.

  • Peter Royle

Very expensive, they have been treating my dog for the same symptoms for ages, each time charging me hundreds of pounds, after advising to buy Hypoallergenic dog food, which cost over a hundred pounds. He is no better after all that expense and treatment.

  • Corrie MacDonald

Great pet friendly veterinary clinic with staff that care about your furry little friends as opposed to simply making money. The only concern is how much more expensive it is compared to similar places - though it may just be because of the great staff.

  • Rachel Spencer waghorn
