Do you want to go to a bar where everybody knows your name? Do you wanna leave with a case of wine or your favorite cocktail mixers? Well then look no further.. Not only can you enjoy local local offerings of tapas, but get to know David and Victor and you are sure to find yourself the recipient of a healthy pour, an interesting story, and a bottle of something to take home to remember them by. This location receives some of the best allocations of whiskey in northeast Florida. They also select their own single barrel bottling to offer parrons from some of the best distilleries in the United States. If they don't have it ask. If they've never heard of it I'll be surprised. The Saturday before Thanksgiving every year they are host to The Riverside Wine Fest. This charity event is an you can taste Mingle with Meaning event that draws out those from the neighborhood and beyond every year for a good cause. With over 300 wines to taste, dont stop until the casks run dry! It's always a bit of an Easter egg hunt for the best bottles that no one expects to actually have poured at AN open event. Tickets go on sale at the end of Oct or first week in November, Be sure to save your commemorative glass from the event. They have become something of a something of a collectors item in the city. If you know you know.

This is a nice spot to grab dinner and socialize. I have only been here once and this was my experience. The french dip was very good. Although I feel it's a little overpriced for the size, I would probably get it again. Another person in my party had one carnitas and one shrimp taco. The carnitas were very dry and although we were both hungry we couldn't even finish it. The shrimp tacos were much better but the shrimp did not taste fresh. The pretzel knots were the most disappointing item of the evening. $10+ for 3 bite size knots is crazy. For the price and cost of making these I really expected 6-8 of this size or at least 2 or 3 pretzel sticks (similar to what you would get at Hoptinger). Although the bread was good, the cheese had an aftertaste like that of a cheez whiz spray can. I'm looking at other photos people have posted and they have 5 sticks. Ours was 3 pretzel balls. They have a lot of good options on the menu, so I plan on returning.

This place is real love. They have been around forever and started in the heart of 5 points. Every Friday from 5-8 pm they have a complimentary wine tasting and if you haven't been make a point to go to this event. There are people of all ages and they really draw a crowd. Debate long and hard, buy a bottle and they will uncork it for free while you enjoy one of their many delicious apps. I am in love with their bacon wrapped dates. (In case you are scared to wander around a place, the bar is way way in the back.) Not interested in wine, then walk around and check out their stellar liquor assortment. Engage one of the employees and they will find something that will make your heart sing. Seriously these guys are great. There is a reason people go every Friday night and it isn't the free wine, its the whole package.

First time here and unfortunately as we were wrapping up dinner and drinks a huge rat ran above us in the exposed ceiling rafters. Our poor waitress saw it as well and screamed in disbelief. She called a gentleman over who I believe is the manager and pointed it out scurrying across the metal beams towards the kitchen. This man said it has been here “several days” and they are working on catching it. Appalling. Worst is that they then brought out full bills and had the audacity to say “we’ll take care of… it… before your next visit” nah, there’s probably no next for me. Food was fair - for example bacon dates were delicious while the tacos were lacking in seasoning. Prices are moderate, I think a round of drinks and about 7 small plates was around $200 for 4 people. Drinks are delicious. Go at your own discretion.

This is the best restaurant in Riverside, but it feels like a well-kept secret! Like a reverse-speakeasy, you go past rows of liquor and wine to an area in the back with some tables. Past that and to the right, you find a hidden bar! This whole place is cute and low-key, but the food is the best I’ve had since moving to Jacksonville 1 year ago! My fiancé and I love coming here as a special treat. The menu is pricier, but definitely not as expensive as far less delicious places in the area! I don’t really want anyone to go here because it feels like being in a quaint old place that’s only for locals, but also this restaurant deserves all of the stars.

My siblings and I took my mom here for Mother's Day. It was amazing! We enjoyed the food and drinks. The wine didn't tasted rich and smooth. This was nothing like Winn dixie or publix wines. The waitress Michelle was nice and timid. Dan was very helpful at picking the right wines for us to try. Anything we asked he took care of it.This is our first time and will not be our last. Also, covid friendly. There was enough space between other tables and social distance was apparent. Beautiful restaurant! We will go again. Please check out the delicious food we tried. There is more wine selections. I was sitting next to this one.

Stopped in with my husband to get his favorite scotch. He hasn't really branched out much from his go-to of Glenlivet. An employee named Devin showed him where the scotches were and not only offered suggestions on recommended scotches, but also poured a sample of his personal favorite for both myself and my husband. We went with his recommendation of the Glendronach. Devin came back to bring the bottle we were holding up to the counter for us while we browsed the store, as we were enjoying browsing their impressive collection! Highly impressed with the selection and the helpfulness of the employees!

Really wished this place was better. Had the burrata for an appetizer. The cheese itself was barely melted like they had microwaved it for 10 seconds. It was swimming in a bath of watery tomatoes, which had good flavor, but was not a good consistency to accompany the hard ball of cheese. For the main course the sliders were not worth it. They were too small, my rolls were stale, and the two burgers tasted nearly identical. The saving grace for this place was their wine menu which had great prices for good quality wine and the atmosphere was nice.

Don't let their name fool you! Yes, Riverside Liquors is an upscale liquor store, but in the back of the store you will find the most unique, cozy restaurant with a rotating menu of small plates and bar service. My friend and I frequent here at least once a month and have never been disappointed. The rotating menu of small plates (including flat bread style pizza) are vegetarian friendly and delicious. The prices are mid-range, and well worth it for the quality, quantity and great service.

This place has a wonderful ambiance, great bartenders, and delicious tapas. It's a great place to meet for a drink and after work snack before you go home or before you get to the real partying of a weekend night. Bartender Dan was on the night I went and he was attentive insightful, patient with my questions about the cocktails and we even had a convo about Guillermo Del Toro. The food arrives in a timely manner and is so delicious. I can't wait to come back.

  • Jonathan Branch

Wait. A restaurant with a great chef and changing plates AND I can get the wine or liquor paring before I leave theough the package store? Take my money! Also, excellent service on both sides of the bar, and in the store. Looking for something specific, just ask. If they don't have the brand, these folks know what is just like it. Give it a shot, and try the cheese plate. Dan and James are the best!!! Gabriella is the newest addition... much love to her, too!!

My favorite bottle shop! My husband and I moved away a couple of months ago after living in Jax (and regularly going to Riverside Liquors) for about 6 years. RSL is one of the few businesses I genuinely miss. It has a fantastic wine selection with a knowledgeable and helpful staff (Fletcher, we miss you!) that does not ever try to talk you into spending more money for the sake of spending more money. I would recommend this place to anyone!

  • stretch stretches

Brussels sprouts are awesome but portion size got smaller & price increased. House wine glass increased too. I am local so I want to buy local & support small business having said that, I decided to buy all of my wine here but there price point is way off. There imported Italia wines start around for $15 for low end unknown brand that should be $5 or $6. I am back at traders joes. SEE ATTACHED......8 bottles for $71 including tax.

  • David P

I love coming here when I'm in town. There's always someone on staff willing to help you out with a recommendation and steer you to a personal favorite instead of pushing a distributor's moneymaker. I've never done the bar in the back, but it always seems lively and has a good crowd. While the liquor selection is top notch, the beer choices can be a little slim. What the have is great, but this is a place for spirits and wine.

  • Ibrahim Robinson

I went into the shop to try to pick up a bottle of Glenfiddich but was advised that the Redbreast might suit my pallet better. I was not disappointed but I still want to try that bottle of Glenfiddich to compare the two. The employees were well knowledgeable and quite friendly. If my treatment here is repeated when I come back on payday then this shop will have a customer for as long they keep supplying me with great service.

  • John Trainer

Long established local business. They know their craft well. I was especially grateful for their assistance as I was buying a gift for someone else. They appear to offer simple but complimentary gift wrap. If you give them some parameters, region, varietal, etc, they seem happy to walk you to a range of good suggestions. You are likely to pay a little more here than some big chain competitors, but the service is worth it.

  • Laura Morrison

Free wine tastings every Friday are appreciated. You get ideas for affordable whites and reds. The restaurant has good food while offering something more than what you get at common moderately priced restaurants. Great variety of wines, liquors and champagnes that range in price from just under $10 and up. In fact, check out the sale rack at the front of the store. I always find choices that I end up enjoying.

  • Ingrid Marie Vigus

The selection for liquor and wine is pretty decent, along with the prices. Employees are friendly, helpful, and know about the products. There aren't many mixers to choose from, but that is not most important. A friends mom frequents the bar in the back and enjoys it very much! These are people who take care of their customers and aim to build relationships with them so when you walk in they know you.

  • Maggie

The liquor store has an amazing selection. The staff cares about finding you exactly the right item. I have never left disappointed. The restaurant in back has a “friend’s basement bar” vibe with very high quality drinks and tapas. Again, the staff is so friendly and devoted to making sure you have a great experience. Stop by for an after work drink and leave with a bottle for later.

  • Asphalt Testing Solutions & Engineering

Riverside Liquors & The Restaurant provided amazing food and exclusive bottles for our event, hosting over 100 people from around the country. We would recommend this team to anyone planning an event. Elijah was fantastic to work with; he is extremely knowledgeable and was very proactive helping us prepare. Having one source for food and beverage makes planning so much easier!

  • Damien Miller

Hands down my favorite place to buy my liquors. Excellent choosing of whiskeys, gins, vodka, tequila, rum, you name it. Good selection of local and popular beers. Tons and tons of wines. Staff is very helpful and will help you find a flavor profile in your budget or usage case (neat or mixed, etc.) They also do wine tastings and have a restaurant which I'm told is fantastic.

  • Jenna Gosden

Great wine selection, and I love the Gin Blossom cocktail served at the bar! I had the pleasure of hosting a birthday party in the restaurant, and the staff members were so wonderfully friendly and helpful, I can't say enough kind things! The food was excellent, and the biggest hits seemed to be the mac and cheese and the bacon wrapped olives!

  • Andy der Katze

We bought A BUNCH of liquor for our wedding and Fletcher was able to help us pick out a bunch of different liquors to fulfill what we needed, since we aren't big liquor people. We were able to get great selections at great prices, and the delivered it to our venue. We didn't have to worry about a thing that day! Highly recommend for events!

  • Cole

This is easily the best liquor store in Jacksonville. The selection is unparalleled, the staff is beyond knowledgeable, and the service is first class. I visit here weekly just to browse and to learn from the staff. Do yourself a favor and visit. You will not only get a great product, but expand your knowledge and support a local business.

  • Shay G

My friend and I visited this place on a whim. We absolutely loved it. The staff was really nice the food tasted great and was reasonably priced. Our waiter Robby recommended a Moscato to drink with dinner and it tasted so good, my friend and I both bought a bottle to take home. Will come back again for the Friday night wine tasting!

  • Sabrina Frenier

First time buying a bottle of wine here and we have lived here since 2015. We walked in, met Liz immediately upon arrival, I said Chianti, she pointed out a couple bottles, we exchanged kind words and my partner and I were in and out in literally 2 minutes. The staff is so nice, helpful and welcoming. Will be back :)

  • Syi Palmer

Oh my goodness! What can I say...other than AMAZING! Our server was Christina and she was phenomenal! Great customer services and very understanding since we had a large party. Our food came out hot and the flavors were simply wonderful! I will definitely return and grab some food. Oh and the drinks were made RIGHT!

  • Brandon Hillard

My Rotary group meets here once a quarter. We meet on a Wednesday. They have a special on Wednesday no corkage on anything purchased in the store. They have good food. Our group always order several large appetizers and the food never disappoints. Thank you for being a part of the community.

  • Hadji Lloyd

This place is definitely a hidden gem. I've passed this place so many times not knowing how amazing this place was. It's truly is a great spot to get with friends or go on a date. I really like their menu options and drink menu. I do suggest to try their Side car. Definitely worth going in!

  • Bea Rosales

Drinks are great worth the buck, dinner entree not so much the flavor there but the portion could be a little bigger. The cheese and charcuterie board could be on board instead of a plate the presentation would look better and look worth 20 dollars . A place for cocktail and appetizers.

  • Cameron Jenkins

Hidden gem. Incredible value for the quality of food and drinks served here. We always make a stop here when someone is visiting from out of town. Not cheap (if thats what you're looking for) but certainly cheaper than anywhere else I've been that serves as high of quality food/drinks.

  • Patrick Cruz

I had a 5-star experience at Riverside Liquors! Todd and Chase welcomed me and shared great information on their bourbons and wines. They were very patient and treated me as if I were a long-time customer, even though I am rarely on this side of town. I look forward to returning often!

  • Ray Donelly

Amazing atmosphere, great staff, great selection. The manager, Greg, was super knowledgeable about whiskey and showed us a really good time. Each of the Tapas and drinks we ordered were delicious. We live at the beaches but plan on making this a regular commute. Don't think twice!

  • David Hucks

Wow. What a fantastic place. The wine selection should be envied by any store in the world. The staff is amazing. I came here for several years before discovering the restaurant in the back. The deviled egg flight is a must order! Thank you for being in our neighborhood!!

  • jason jones

We've been twice and the food was great. The service both times was not awesome. Not terrible by any means but uniquely awkward both times? Either way we'd go back. A great place to have a cocktail or glass of wine and do some progressive eating around Riverside

  • Kristen Partyka

I had the grilled cheese special, the Greek goddess salad and the chefs cut ribeye and everything came out perfectly. Natalie was my bartender and she made the best Manhattan I’ve ever had. You have to come check out this local gem. Don’t sleep on this place!

  • Jay Stockton

Drinks are well made, and the food is stellar. Bartenders are great at their jobs, friendly and knowledgeable. The whole place a has a welcoming feeling, with the bar in the back being a hidden gem that goes from quite and cozy, to bustling and full of life.

  • Lauren Powell

Love the more private/intimate environment here. The Empress was fabulous. The menu had couple great bites. I think the charcuterie is supplied by Grater Goods, a Murray Hill favorite of mine! Easy enough to order gluten free, harder to order veggie/vegan.

  • Ellen Holbert

My go-to for wine & liquor and delicious food. The only thing that's missing IMO is live music. I would love to hear a jazz band playing here, and maybe an open mic night for local vocalists and musicians. But regardless, it's always a good time here!

  • Anitha

Ah-mazing and a true hidden gem! I forgot to photograph everything we ate...we sampled several fancy bourbons and ate it all! Fabulous date night! Buy it, drink it, eat here! Photographed here is the blackened halibut and chorizo stuffed dates …

  • Clayton Lamont

The liquor store has a good solid selection at reasonable prices. They typically have bottles at the counters that you can sample before you buy. Also, the restaurant/bar is a hidden gem. Good food. Good drinks. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended.

  • January Collier

I love this place and the food is amazing!!!! I am always greeted with happy faces and Excellent conversations. They are very knowledgeable about food and wine pairings and always have this that arebhard to find elsewhere. You have got to stop in.

  • Jeanne C.

Great selection of wines. Good prices, friendly staff. There is a small restaurant in the back with about 10 tables. The food was very good. Specials for the week, nice desserts and new options every week, definitely worth a stop or two or three.

  • Zoe Wilson

Great atmosphere! Excellent service! Drinks are also excellent! We got the steak and shrimp pasta dish, both amazing! We ordered charcuterie board, date dish and baratta dish for appetizer and ALL 3 were amazing! Will definitely be coming back:)

  • DeeJay Nicholson

OMG!!!! The fact that I am just now running into this place is a travesty.. When I say that this place is truly a hidden gem I really mean it.. My husband made a random stop and told me to go in and try not to buy anything.. At first glance

  • ArturN Nistra

Super cool little gem annexed to the actual liquor store. The food is gourmet and tasty but don't go there very hungry for the portions are modest in size. But, great variety of wines and beers, friendly staff and great ambience. A must go.

  • Rhianna Lindsey

The liquor store has a great selection and staff is so knowledgeable! And the restaurant is a hidden gem! The food is delicious, chef is amazing and there are always creative food and dessert specials! I’ve been in a few times and food and

Went for a group dinner and it was handled terribly. Reservations were made weeks in advance and they still gave us 1 server. People got both app and entree before others even ordered. Then finally more food came out but they were making

5/5 The combination of the steak, sides, wine and dessert! Was amazing! For the price i paid with the experience, it should defiantly be a lot more money. But i love that it was affordable for me and my date and delicious as well!

  • Naomi Grant

These guys are awesome! They go out of their way to get what you want, in when not on the shelf! Nice tapas selections! Full bar to compliment your meal. Tonight's favorite was chorizo stuffed dates wrapped with bacon. Yum!

  • Easton Smith

Had just a great evening here on Monday. Had a variety of the appetizers and overall really pleasant. Higher end food than you would expect from the area, being a bit more bar centric. Staff is attentive and beer was cold.

Great locally owned liquor store with knowledgeable staff. The pub in the back of the store also has great food options and a huge selection of spirits.

  • Matthew Barker

Great ambiance and cool spot for a date or just a place to hang. Service was great and beer selection was a good variety. Will come back again for sure.

I would not recommend shopping or dining there. The retail employees and servers are rude and unprofessional. I have had multiple poor experiences.
