Great staff, really helpfull and friendly even though they were under extreme pressure being Easter Sunday and fully booked. However I ordered the steak rare to medium with garlic butter, which came with chips and salad. I have no doubt the kitchen staff were also under pressure, under staffed or inexperienced. The only part of the meal that was to temperature was the salad. The steak which arrived last to our table of 14 was well done, stone cold and the garlic butter clearly frozen, sat proudly on the steak, refusing to melt or soften throughout the dining process. The accompanying chips although a chunky pub style were also stone cold. The chips had either been recycled from other diners leftovers or tortured repeatedly in the fryer until succumbing to giving up their potatoey centers to become dark brown husks of their former selves exploding into shards of shrapnel all over the table. In fairness and under the circumstances everyone at the RSL was under pressure. I raised no issue with the quality of the meal aware of this at the time or to prompt an avalanche of complaints from my fellow diners who also had cold meals whilst waiting for my meal to arrive so we could all eat together. I will attempt a visit again in the future but not on a busy service.

There was a performance on the night we went so the general eating area was unavailable. Our party consisted of 5 people and a toddler. We were told there was plenty of room in the function room and we were told by a waitress to find a table. All the tables were either full or reserved. After finding a waitress, we were told there were tables outside. This was not very convenient as it was a very hot day and there was little shade out side. Once we sat down we realised that we had not been given any menus. We then had to go inside to find a waitress who then gave us one menu that she found on a bench. Once we looked at the menu we realised that it was different from the one advertised online. We had to look at the description of every dish to see if was a vegetarian meal as they did not have a vegetarian section or a "V" next to the name of the dish. We eventually found two vegetarian meals but our vegetarian did not like either of the dishes so we left. I would not recommend dining here when events are on or if you are a vegetarian.

Walked in and was asked for my licence. I advised I was not comfortable having a copy of my licence taken. The woman behind the counter explained this was a condition of the RSL Victoria and I could leave if did not give over the licence. I offered other forms of identifacation like a Qld yellow card which is police checked this was not good enough. I would like to know how long the RSL keeps a copy of licence and how secure the keeping of the licence is. My next question is what if I did not have any IID with a photo on me. Does that mean I would have been turned away I did have guests waiting for me in the dining room, one my mum who is over a 100 therefore I complied with this request from this very unpleasant woman behind the counter. RSL. Wake up to yourselves you are in a great spot for tourists but with staff with attitudes like I saw will not be back. Plenty of places on the peninsula that would welcome my patronage with a smile.

Hello, Last night 25/06 my wife and I came down for tea. I am a member of Watsonia RSL and when leaving I asked for a six pack of Carlton Draught stubbies. Members price was $24 which I found outrageous. I questioned the price as Watsonia is a lot less than that and your staff member told me if I didn’t like the price I could always go to BWS. Then very cheeky like with a giggle he said he would drive me there if I would like. I thought his attitude was absolutely rude. I am 60 years old and do not appreciate having young rude staff taking me for a fool. This is an RSL where the place is built on respect. Your staff member had none. Very poor as I have every right to make sure the price charged was correct. I neglected to get his name as I was gobsmacked at his attitude. I will not be back.

Came here for Mother’s Day lunch yesterday with the family (8 of us) at the Bistro. My Aunty and I both ordered the grilled salmon which was a special on that day, and my mum had tried a piece of the salmon too (but had ordered the wok tossed pork). Don’t get me wrong, the food was lovely, but the 3 of us that tried the salmon have ended up with food poisoning. I had diarrhoea a few hours after going home, and had been vomiting every hour last night from 11pm to 6:30am this morning. Still not feeling well, and neither is my mum or my Aunty. We have come to the RSL many times and have never experienced anything like this. This was just quite disappointing and I doubt we will be coming here again.

Love the food in the bistro. The beef brisket is divine! Service is always quick. Would really love to come here every Saturday night too but kids night is a bit loud. Maybe they can have kids night on a different night or once a fortnight. Gaming room is excellent. The younger gaming staff in there are always so helpful and willing to assist. Overall I have seen major improvement at this venue over the last year or two. Well done to management, your changes haven't gone unnoticed. I would not go anywhere else in Rosebud to eat and enjoy the pokies besides this place.

We all know its not a cheap exercise to go out for dinner with the economic climate we are all living in. Dinner out tonight with our grand daughter, waiting for our meals, after hubby received his steak first. To be told told by a staff member Chelsea "did we understand"! We know how it works, but some staff need more training on good manners & customer service skills. Very disappointing evening for us. As hubby is a service member and myself a member also. It certainly can't be put down to it been a different generation?

Food is very good and I haven’t had a bad one in years. The desserts are especially delicious. I only gave 3 stars because lately I have either been squashed flat by excess noise. Or unable to hear the speaker. The system that is in use at the venue should be able to handle both conditions easily. There is no point in having a guest speaker or a band if the output is not satisfactory. However the staff and management are to be congratulated on their efforts in all other respects. 1 male staff running a plate of food (steak) dropped the steak knife on the carpet. He picked up the knife then put it back on the plate and continued walking as if nothing happened, and then serving that food to the customer yuck and yuck! THIS HAPPENED BETWEEN 6:45PM -7PM OF LAST NIGHT. AND I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO SAW IT. SOME OF YOUR OTHER STAFF AND CUSTOMER SAW IT TOO. BUT THEY DID NOTHING. SAID NOTHING. IT HAPPENED RIGHT IN FRONT WHERE THE COFFEE MAKING AREA WAS.

We had a wonderful time with our family and friends for my mother's 93rd birthday , The food is great and very delicious, the staff are very friendly and attentive, all loved a good laugh and they are very happy to help with any needs you may have. I would highly recommend this RSL and other RSL SERVICES for your functions in or outside for a great day or night out to have a wonderful time with your family and friends or enjoy just a lovely lunch or dinner and a great time out

We often come along to have a meal with friends and usually have a terrific meal. But Tonight I was really disappointed. myself and a friend had the lamb pizza with tzatziki. We were so disappointed…hardly any lamb on the base at all, it had alot of caramelised onion and a lot of tzatziki I left half of mine as it I wasn’t enjoyable at all. I was hoping it was going to have lots of strips of lamb..not tiny little squares. The positive to the night were the staff very friendly and helpful

2 weeks ago we had lunch here. My partner ordered bangers and mash and I had the seniors penne carbonara. Both were bad choices. My pasta was dry and greasy. No nice creamy sauce at all. My partners meal looked as though it had been cooked and cooked again then reheated. It was bland and not tasty at all. Very disappointed as I hadn't been here for years. Won't be back. We did complain but the waitress just said sorry about that. Not how can we make it better for you...

Fabulous menu of old favourites and a wide variety of interesting, tasty dishes. The service was excellent with friendly and helpful staff from the front door to the bistro. We had a selection of starters that were restaurant quality, delicious and very filling. From the look of other diner’s meals on other tables, they were all generous portion sizes. Combined with a recent refurbishment and a relaxing outdoor area, I’m so happy to have this as my local.

We love our local RSL and went back last night for the first time in about 12 months. My meal, Nasi Goreng was great, as I remembered! Sadly, my husband ordered Crispy skin duck with pumpkin risotto - first bad meal we have had there. One small leg of duck floating in a sea of tasteless, soupy risotto. Just awful. Told the staff & the manager did the right thing & offered us a free glass of wine each. Will we go back? Of course!

We have eaten here several times and have always found the meals great. Today however was a different story. We had to send both meals back for being undercooked. We received the same order a second time and these meals were marginally better. At least we know it wasn't just us. The table next to us was on her third attempt of fish being cooked properly. Definitely try elsewhere before here. Pretty disappointing.

Great place Great facilities Ordered the seafood risotto…. That was a mistake. Of course I was the only one of our party to order it. It did not end well. Lost three days from it. But let’s be honest… unless you guys can tell me otherwise I’ll put it down to bad luck and surely it was just an isolated event. Which .. to be fair… is the risk we take when we order a seafood dish.

Got delivery.. great way to stay open during lockdown. Kids meals were fantastic, wife's meal was great. My $32 steak was ordered medium and came raw.. like it was on a hot pan for 2 mins each side and sent out straight away. Disgusting! Tried to call and organise a replacement or some kind of apology and didnt get answered. A real shame. It was my last chance for the RSL.

Clean, & friendly helpful staff.lovely experience, food was fresh, hot, and a good size serve, very very pleased, will definitely come again! Food was sooo good & fresh came back next day! Inclement weather meant changed plans and the need for a late booking for a 50th birthday lunch. We were so thrilled with how the lunch went and in particular really want to acknowledge the bistro staff for being so patient, helpful and friendly. None of our requests was too much trouble. The lunch really couldn't have gone any better.

Two of us came to Rosebud RSL Club on a Saturday night for dinner. It was a very popular place and this was evident by the busy nature of the club. Between the two of us, we ordered the spaghetti bolognese and a chicken parmigiana. The food was served promptly and the flavours were delicious. Thank you to the friendly staff and chefs.

Your duty manager Daniel was really rude and a nasty young man. When trying to get the curtesy bus it refused to take us back to our accommodation. We called and checked prior to going there and checked the week prior. They pick and choose to what locations they went to on the night. So check before you rely on getting a lift home.

This place is a cut above the rest. Accommodating for all. Quality facilities and the food is outstanding. I love the outdoors area with the Fox sports channels. WoW this place has improved! As far as modern day Bistros go fantastic place to take your kids for a dinner out. My only criticism would be the pricing could be a little lower on the menu. In the same breath they do have cheap eat deals throughout the week. Which are exceptional value for money.

Delicious pub style meals, exceptional customer service, suitable for veterans, pensioners and families with live music, small play area for toddlers only, pokies, and large outdoor space perfect for evenings and run around area for kids. I would highly recommend for families gatherings.

Venue was neat and clean, staff were kind (we were there for a funeral wake and the bar staff offered condolences), food was fine, service was quick and food came out fast after we arrived. Bathrooms were even neat and clean. Also, beautiful view of the nearby hills from the dining room.

Meals lovely waiting staff very little experience.Chef telling staff off in front of customers is very poor.Train your staff then you will not need to yell at your staff. I thi nk staff would struggle when at full capacity. Chef needs some training how to relate to staff members

I got the chicken Parma when I was there with a few family members, the chicken being ontop of the chips and salad made them soggy and it made the salad warm. The chicken itself was soggy and a little cold on the inside. Service took forever and it wasn't worth the money.

So yes typical RSL with good food, well prepared and served. The kitchen needs to communicate better with servers and guests through their offers - (charged $25 for a meal that was meant to be $19). Front of house team fantastic and deserving of high praise.

Had a good afternoon at the RSL the staff were friendly the service for meals was quite quite prompt. Meals were huge and very tasty I had the seafood special it was the best seafood meal I have had for years everyone's meals looked great as well.well done.

Scotch fillet and porterhouse steak juicy, tender, cooked to perfection. Best steak we have had in a long time. I can't say our meals were cheap, but happy with the quality. Pensioners are looked after with great value meals compared to anywhere in Rosebud.

Great place for a parma on a Tuesday with the a $19 special with around 10 different one's too choose from. They have a great seniors menu also. Sports bar pokies and a huge outdoor entertainment area that on a nice day will serve beverages outside.

Food is terrible everytime we go there. I dont know why we torture ourselves going back. Fish claimed to be Whiting clearly wasn't. Chicken barely cooked. Waitress needed deodorant. Sorry for the bad rating but it was our night. Disappointing.

Venue and food is great but.... No instructions on how to use EV Charging station. Downloaded ABB app but still unable to charge my Kona Electric. ICE vehicle's frequently park in the EV car park, blocking EVs from recharging.

Rosebud RSL is Great Venue is recently refurbished. Food and drinks were good and reasonably priced. Staff were excellent - welcoming, knowledgable and very pleasantly accommodating. Congratulations on a quality experience.

We came here for the first time last Sunday for lunch. What a beautiful place it is. The meals were to die for. Honestly hands done the best steak I’ve ever had. We are now members and are back here today for lunch.

Paid $27 for a Parma very disappointed with the size of the Parma I have paid less then $27 at a high end restaurant that the Parma was almost twice as big better value at Rye RSL if you like dining at these places

Very average food. I had grilled whiting,nice flavour but quite tough,Fry's were horrible,very hard,couldn't use a fork for most of them. Husband had chick snitz,also very basic and small. Would not eat here again.

Friendly staff in a spacious venue with good food at a reasnable price. Plenty of parking and a kids play room. No need to fill out old fashioned RSL visitor's book - just scan your drivers license. Quick and easy.

So disappointed in my Roast of the day, food came out barely warm and was cold half way through and just couldn’t eat it. Definitely not worth $29. I won’t be coming back here. Staff also have terrible manners too

Great for a nice meal. But make sure what you order is what they enter into their POS system because they regularly get it wrong. And so far every steak ordered medium rare has been served fully cremated.

Well worth dropping in to for a meal when your vitiating Rosebud. Food is good, large RSL with lots of space, kid freindly, nice staff. For locals have regular shows and entertainment to cone visit.

Menu is quite boring, not a large variety, Gets very very busy so booking is a MUST especially on weekends and members night, good yard for kids to stretch there legs after dinner or lunch

The senior meal was not great I had pork belly and salad.. The pork belly was tender but the salad was plain cabbage with a sprinkle of carrot .. Not my idea of a salad sude dish at all

The dhal wasn’t nice. It more tasted like butter chicken… the Napoleon sauce gnocchi Was to acidic, tasted like store bought sauce. couldn’t eat it.

Friendly staff and nice little museum section in the front hallway. Not open for lunch on Saturday due to bingo being played all day so didn't stay.
