1 star is given because there is no options for 0 or minus... TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE that ended with a rob. I rent a car from them in Rome (Italy) back in September 2022. I rent an Audi A4 station wagon to have enough space for my luggage. They gave us a DS 7 Crossback. Even for that car we were waiting for more than an hour and at the end we had to do it because they said "this is it. Either you take it or we have no other to give you..." We kept the car for 3 days. Unfortunately we got a traffic ticket from Italian police camera. We never saw that ticket on our windscreen. I got it in my email a month later (October 2022) and I paid it immediately. 8 months later (June 17th, 2023) I received an email from eCollect AG (debt collector) stating that I owed them 103.09 Euros. That debt came up from a SiXT invoice of 30.50 Euros for handling the traffic violation I had paid myself back in October 2022. I immediately contact both SiXT and their debt collector and tell them that I never received an invoice from SiXT in first place. They said they issued that invoice in April, 2023 (!) and they sent to me 2 emails in May, 2023. I replied that I never received any of them and I asked them to send it to me again in order to pay it. They didn't send it and they kept harassing me. Finally they send to me the initial invoice but when I tried to pay it, the given link was sending me to eCollect AG page and the only given option was to pay the 103.09 Euros (invoice of 30.50 Euros = penalties). I wrote back to them and I stated that I am refusing to get robed. I also asked them for proofs that they had initially sent me those emails at first place. They never replied to me nothing else but a threat. "If you don't pay by June 17th, 2023 we will add more expenses on your debt and we will take legal actions against you. I proved myself as a good faith citizen by paying Italian's authority fine immediately, back in October 2022. I also act immediately when I received their email by stating that I never received anything from SiXT. I informed both of them. Since then they were trying to prove me wrong but without any proofs. Only threats. SiXT claims that they sent me an invoice 7 MONTHS after the incident. And a month later they passed it to their debt collector. Although THEY HAD MY CRECIT CARD NUMBER to charge me at first place, they forced the initial 30.50 Euros to became 103.09 Euros. Although I directly wrote to them and always had them on the loop of all communications, they replied to me only once and asked me to follow what their debt collector says... Today I found out that probably eCollect AG does all the job for Sixt. Their services page at their website explains everything. They offer the whole package to their clients. They do the invoicing, the handling for payments and if necessary the debt collection. So they are the ones who should have sent me the reminders... Great job! And very efficient...

NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR RENTALS. I should have listened to the comments I read but my flight got cancelled and I was in a desperate situation and no other rental had availability. I had to do a one way rental from NY to FL after my flight got cancelled and I needed to be on a cruise for a planned vacation. Sixt was the one rental I found that was able to do it. The reservation had a total of 500 dollars for the 1 night rental. While driving the rented vehicle we got a flat tire at 1 in the morning in the middle of nowhere in Virginia. The rental did not have a spare tire. We called Sixt for them to send AAA or any company they use to change the tire so we can continue our way to Florida. When we called them they literally told us they couldn't do anything because their locations near by where all closed so for us (2 females and 2 kids) to stay put or to try to drive to a safe location until 8am in the morning that the nearest location (4 hours away) would open for them to send another car to swap the one we had. Granted: we needed to be in Port Canaveral Florida by 12PM. After spending about an hour and a half fighting with them over the phone they hung up on my and didn't pick up again. I called from my partner's phone and there they answered but this time they said the only solution was to sent a tow truck to tow the car and we would need to go with the tow truck to wherever the truck would take the car would go. I asked how long would it be since again it was 1AM in the morning, a completely secluded part of Virginia where there wasn't even pole lights and no traffic passing by and they said they had no idea how long it would take. We waited an hour and 45 minutes before i had to take the reins and drive with a flat tire for over 6 hours to get to a place where they could change our tire. We had to pay 300 dollars for the tire replacement. We got to Orlando at 3PM in the afternoon and because we contacted the cruise line and explained our situation we were able to get to the cruise. Since we were already late I asked a cousin of mine to take the rental to the airport and when I got the bill I got charged over 1K for the rental. Not only i was told the price was 500 dollars but I also had to pay out of pocket 300 dollars to fix a flat tire from THEIR RENTAL THAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE HELP ME IN A VERY DANGEROUS AND DISTRESSED SITUATION WITH ONLY 2 WOMEN AND 2 KIDS IN THE VEHICLE. again: NEVER EVER EVER RENT WITH THIS COMPANY. I have my lawyer getting all the paperwork so we take legal actions towards them.

!!! Please note - Aya’s and SIXT’s response. I’m been communicating with this team and email address she gave and they have none nothing but restate the same thing - not actually heeding my words or taking the necessary action actual get to the bottom of my problem!!! I rented from them a week ago and had an absolutely terrible experience and am still having one. I have been charged an extra day with no resolution and worse experience with trying to get help. I returned my car within 24 hours and dropped my keys in the return box as instructed. I was charged additional day and tried to go through customer service as they claimed I returned that afternoon at 2 pm when actually I returns it at 9:30 am. They claimed I had to provided proof like an airport ticket. I had no proof - I am local to NYC and used this rental as a birthday gift to myself to do a day trip. Rather than do any work themselves like checking the internal GPS and the security footage they have kept arguing with me. I have paid twice as much , which as a young adult I can’t afford. I am paying for their mistake and customer service have been incredibly slow in communication and have also never read my emails, but keep repeating a message. They aren’t understanding, they are slow, and obviously they are also neglectful of return times which I am paying dearly for. It feels like they’re happy to make a bit more money on me.

I would give a negative 5 if I could: They let me rent a car from NYC with a tire that was not inflated enough. It had a warning message from the staff on the key chain about it!! I warned the staff on site before leaving saying I needed another car. They said I could inflate it on my way on the highway. The whole drive to Boston was nerve racking as the car was warning of one tire not inflated enough even after stopping at the gas station to inflate it. The next day I had a flat tire and had to wait 3h for someone to come help me change the tire. The customer service said the Sixt Ariport team would have a replacement car for me. So I had to drive the car to the Boston airport (another 2hour wait and welcomed with an attitude from the gentleman at the desk because they actually did not have a car for me and had not been warned I would come). Now they are invoicing me $3,000 for “damages” without detailing what these damages are. To sum up: They scheduled the rental of a damaged car that would ultimately need repairs during the rental period for the customer to be reliable of its repair and maintenance. I call this a scam and that is fraud. Google community, please, stay away from these clowns. Once I get more info from my lawyers, I’ll post a link for other customers to file combine complaints and get this business closed ASAP.

My experience is not good in the very recent days. They charge extra after returning, for super cleanings though we left the car as clean as possible. I booked for Rav4 at battery park branch, my flight got delayed for 2 hours and I have been given nissan kick. Nissan kick can never to similar to Rav4. Later after 7 days, my vehicle was altered with Rav4, which made me happy though. Surprisingly after check out they charged usd 120 for little sands in the car mattresses. Rather than giving compensation for driving nissan kick (1.6L) basic Suv, they charged extra. Oh ! I forgot to mention that fuel was not full in the tank when i picked up in Morris st, but I returned with full tank. Anyways we were very cautious that time with RAv4 and kept it has clean as possible. Once we returned the car after two weeks in Battery park, I have been charged again usd 120 for cleaning purposes. Total i paid usd 240 for cleaning in the total rental period, though i kept the car as clean as possible. I used sixt before in newark airport, zurich airport those time i have never been charged for cleaning, but recent days guess they changed the policy they ought to charge atleast usd 120 for cleaning, which is very funny. I drove alamo and budget many times, they never charged for cleaning, though i kept the car cleaned always.

Very nice staff. I've always had good experiences with Sixt in Germany and I can only confirm that here in the USA. The operator at the counter was super friendly and helpful and adjusted our rental to our wishes and our tour. Greetings go out to Naty✌ thank you thank you thank you for your help. We got a great upgrade for little money (in relation to the rent). We rented the car for 36 days to do a road trip across the USA and learned from local regulations that you can only stay along one coast with the rental car and not drive to the other coast (please take this information with you , if such a trip is planned) or you have to pay extra fees for a round trip and we had not booked any flights etc. either. Luckily they helped us with that too. Again, a big thank you to Naty and the supervisor (we didn't get to know him, but he took care of our case from the office) We are more than satisfied thanks to everyone! I recommend this SIXT branch to anyone who appreciates friendly and helpful staff and wants a great car. Please note that you always have your passport, driver's license and credit card with you, in the USA there are strict regulations for rentals.

Two reservations completed in the past week, and another one to make for next week. I can’t stress enough how smooth this process was, but most importantly, the guys behind the counter that were so COOL. My first time, wasn’t sure what to expect. Never heard of SIXT, had to take a train to the location as I live in Brooklyn, etc. I get to counter and felt like I was talking to a PERSON and not a sales robot. Hello, how are you, did you find our location easily? Traveling anywhere special? Etc. My second time, they remembered me and were glad I returned. They provided an upgrade to a SUV when they heard I was taking family to Six Flags. I was trying to save some money by getting a compact car, but they made it an incredible experience with the car they provided. Aside from the great workers, the return after hours is my FAVORITE thing. I can avoid having to wake up next day to return vehicle, all by simply dropping off at the garage. I receive a returned receipt the very next morning. I’ve rented with other companies over the past 10 years, this will be my new preference and specific location I come to. Can’t wait for my third reservation this week.

my worst Sixt Experience, ever. At the pickup the agent refused to put on her glasses to read what I intended to show her on my phone (my Sixt Platinum Status). At return, another agent told me to drive around the building to enter the garage. However around the building meant that I was directed to a tunnel and lost almost one hour to get back to the station. At return, of course also gas was consumed at what was full in first place, was 7/8 full when I finally made it there. The third agent told me that signage to the rental return was clearly visible (see photo attached, can you find the signage???) but she understands my situation (I showed her the gas receipt as proof) and she would not charge the gas. Well, of course I got charged the gas ($ 39!!). Instead of acting professionally, she bragged about Sixt being not "just a normal rental car company" but something better than the others. Stations like this should not operate under the otherwise very reliable Sixt brand. UPDATE: Sixt responded instantly, reviewed the case and acted. That is why I love Sixt. However, I will still avoid this station in the future.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the excellent service I recieved from Romario. After waiting in the queue for about 20 min, I was helped by this lovely gentleman. Unfortunately I did not bring the right documentation. Romario held my luggage while I went to get the correct documentation. He helped me rebook to take advantage of my Airline miles, was super patient, courteous and friendly throughout. When my Internet started giving me trouble during the rebooking process, he offered me his own WiFi to help set up my booking. He assisted with everything he could, and was as professional as he could possibly be. He also upgraded me due to the inconvenience (despite the inconvenience being a result of my own doing). The car was very clean, well maintained and drove like a dream. I was able to drive 6 hours with not a single worry. Returning the car after hours was a breeze. The instructions given were easy to follow. I would highly recommend them, and would definitely use them again on my next trip to the US. The pictures were taken after my trip, the car was spotless clean when I picked it up.

I made a reservation for a standard SUV, but because of extra luggage I was afraid it wouldn't be large enough so I showed the service rep a picture of everything that needed to be fit. He first told me he'd recommend a BMW X7 and since there were some cancellations he had one available. He said originally it was $1500+ but that I could upgrade for $800+. I said it was too much so he then recommended a GMC for $600+. I said it was still too much, and later he offered the Cadillac XT6 for $280 making it sound like a good deal. Later when I looked up car rentals on the SIXT website, I could've just made a new reservation for a BMW X7 at a cheaper price than I was charged. I imagine the upgrade for the Cadillac shouldn't have been so much either. Next, I asked about the EZ pass, and he told me I wouldn't really need it because there would only be a couple tolls...there must have been at least 5+ tolls...haven't received the actual invoice but if there's a $5 administrative fee for every single toll, that's absurd. Left feedback from a survey email they sent with no response either.

I always had an amazing experience with my cars rental From Sixt. From the moment I picked up the vehicle, it was clear that this company prioritizes customer satisfaction. The car was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described in the rental listing. ( you can always upgrade if they have cars available, just ask them they are super nice ) The customer service was exceptional S always. Deborah and Kay are wonderful The staff is friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a smooth rental experience. They provided all the necessary information and made the pick-up and drop-off process effortless. The vehicle itself performed flawlessly during my rental period. It was reliable, comfortable, and fuel- efficient. ( just don’t smoke in their cars ) I highly recommend this car rental company to anyone in need of a vehicle. Their top-notch service, well-maintained cars, and commitment to customer satisfaction make them the go-to choice for all your rental needs. I'll definitely keep renting from them in the future Thanks a lot.

We had an awesome experience with Sixt in NYC. Sixt was our 2nd option, as we had a reservation with Hertz as well. Hertz decided to charge us double and give us a worse car, so we went with Sixt instead. The contrast between both companies couldn't be any bigger! The Sixt employee (Jared) welcomed us and made the pickup of our vehicle a breeze. The price of the rental was exactly the same as on the website, and the additional fees were transparent. Jared explained how the tolls would be billed and didn't try to forcefully upsell us on any insurance or anything. He even gave us recommendations for our trip, which was a nice gesture. The car itself was great too, a brand-new 2023 Nissan Rogue. Dropping off wasn't an issue either. We were 20 minutes late due to traffic, which was not a problem at all. Jeremie quickly checked the car for us and we were on our way again within 5 minutes. All in all, Sixt was incredibly easy and convenient to work with, I would 100% rent from them again.

This Sixt location is garbage. It is understaffed, and wrought with problems. I've experienced enough of the world to have had the foresight to document my rental car prior to leaving with it. I emailed their, "customer service" proof of damage that was present on the car before I took possession of it. I'm using quotes to emphasize that their use of the phrase is ridiculous. Sure, someone will respond to this review acting extremely helpful, but don't fall for the ruse. If I hadn't documented and made sure of a paper trail, I would've been framed for damage to the vehicle I was not responsible for causing. After returning the car, they quickly sent me, "proof" of damages that I had supposedly caused. Appalled, I sent screenshots of the email and photos I had previously sent them. Crickets. They made no apology. They gave no explanation. Had just casually tried to exploit the possibility that I likely wouldn't have proof absolving myself of their fraudulent claim.

This is an addendum to my previous review. After posting my review, SixT and Kay addressed the issue immediately and corrected the overcharged amount. I am satisfied and would like to give them a second chance purely because Kay was very pleasant and sweet when I met her the first time. I hope this was a blip and that’s not who she is. ————————————————————— Great service when I took the car from Kay and then it was all Downhill. When I reached (Morris Street) to return the car at 4:00 pm on Friday I asked where I could fill up gas nearby. Kay have me the address and said I have a grace period of 45 minutes. Which means I could return the car by 5:45 pm. I returned the car by 5:15. When I was going to drop the keys in the box Kay told me to give the key to her. I cannot Believe that she put the time at 7 pm when is already returns the car before 5:30 pm. For an extra day’s rent you’ve broken a customer’s Trust. I will Never deal with SixT again. Ever.

This is not a reputable place to rent a car. Waited about 20 minutes to get to the counter where Kay told me the car I reserved was not available but I could get a "free upgrade" if I purchased supplementary insurance. I informed them I was not interested in purchasing any upgrades and eventually was told I could wait for a car in the class I reserved to be clean. However after some time I was then told my only options were to pay to upgrade to an SUV or have my reservation be canceled. After 2 miserable hours being spent at the office I was finally given a car without purchasing an upgrade. This car had a broken mirror, smelled horrible when the AC was turned on and only had half a tank of gas. Overall worse rental car experience than I could have imagined, I would not risk coming here even if cheapest option. Also pretty sure it is illegal in New York not to honor the price for which I reserved a car.

I’ve never had a worse car rental experience in my life. First: they give you a car that has a big scratch, a dent and several other damages. “Don’t worry”, the agent says, “I am making a full report.” Of course I don’t trust him so I make picture myself as well (just as I made a picture of the 3/8 gasoline tank). Upon return of the car it suddenly appears the scratch is not part of the checkout report, so Sixt tries to charge me for it by filing a damage report, even after I show them irrefutable evidence on the spot (even to the manager). After this issue is settled via customer service they add insult to injury by charging $65 for fuel a week later, even though the agent agreed with me upon returning the car that I returned it with the appropriate amount after showing her the pictures. SO STAY AWAY, THERE ARE FAR BETTER, MOST RELIABLE AND TRUSTWORTHY CAR RENTAL AGENCIES OUT THERE. Back to Hertz I go.

Had a terrible experience with Sixt when renting a car from their location in Genoa, Italy. They rented us a hybrid Lynk & Co. but were unresponsive when the car broke down. It took more than a dozen calls and nearly four hours to reach a customer service representative willing to send out a mechanic to look at the car. In the meantime, my family was stranded in a parking lot far from our destination. Worse than the amount of time it took to resolve the problem was the lack of interest their customer service operators had in helping solve our problem. Roadside assistance is a basic service for a car company. I'll also note that, although we used the car for only a few hours, Sixt charged us for the full reservation (3 days). They have been likewise unresponsive as we try to resolve this problem. There are so many other rental car agencies we could have chosen. Avoid this company; it's a lemon.

I've often rented from Sixt, overlooking negative reviews. Up until now, my experiences were generally acceptable. However, my latest encounter with them has drastically changed my perspective. Following my rental, they added a $150 special cleaning fee to my bill. When I questioned them about this, the only "proof" they provided was a photo showcasing a few hairs on a floor mat – an insane basis for such a steep charge. What shocked me: - They fraudulently charged my card without my consent. - Their 'evidence' didn't indicate misuse, a requirement by New York State Business Law SECTION 396-Z. - $150 for perhaps a simple vacuuming? No clear justification. - This potential fee wasn't outlined in my rental agreement, another violation of NYS law. After researching, I found Sixt's history of similar complaints and even lawsuits worldwide. I would urge others to stay away.

Very disappointed. Prebooked suv car not available, had to pay extra for suv (bigger). Car was not checked (first one had to be changed due to mechanical issue i discovered while driving away, 1h minimun wasted). Both cars were very dirty and the second one was delivered to me with fuel gauge @1/4 roughly. I was surprised and asked but i was told no issue, normal procédure, car to be returned with same level, what i did and despite i got confirmation before leaving by employee that gas level was ok and i will not bé charged for fuel, I found 40usd on my final invoice for refueling. It is a rip off and totally unfair practise. I have Never Seen a car rental company delivering car with fuel tank partially filled-in. How do you make sure about what has to be put back when you return thé véhicle. Maybe i paid for full refueling Never again those mickeys

This location has luxury cars at great prices. The service is courteous at the counter and very professional. My second time renting a car there I noticed that the vehicle had dog hair in the trunk, left over from the previous renter. I noticed it but did not pay too much attention because I was running late and it was in the trunk, not inside the vehicle. Once I received my invoice I noticed a $250 special vehicle cleaning fee. I called the 800 number and the told me it was charged because they had to clean up the hair from the trunk. They opened an investigation and I am now waiting for the resolution. Supposedly they will call me within 24-48 hours. I will update this review as I get more information, but in the meantime, if you rent from this location, make sure they give you a clean car when you pick it up.

I edited my review as I don’t know how to add a reply. We use the garage to park our car, and once my 3-year-old daughter requested to go to the bathroom, we stopped by restrooms close to Sixt's office. Since on the door was a sign that it is for Sixt customers only, I asked the lady in the office if we could use it since a 3-year-old can't wait. The lady asked us if we are their customers and then said she was unsure she could allow us to do so. Then I said that it is not nice to refuse a child to use the restroom, and she said she needs to ask her manager. Then her colleague started to find excuses and ended up pointing to some phone number I needed to call for a key which sounded ridiculous. We just left the office bc the whole conversation had no sense and looked like we were rejected in the worst way.

The savings are not worth the headache. They tried to blame damage on me that was done to the car after I had dropped it off, which ended up being 10+ hours of constant customer support. Their support would also talk down to me about why I'm stupid for not paying extra for a more expensive insurance (when I paid for liability and my credit card had insurance), and then tried to force me to have my credit card pay for it even though I had countless proof that the damage was done at their location after I had dropped it off. The charges eventually got dropped, but the 10+ hours of dealing with this was definitely not worth the hassle. They also then tried to slip extra charges in a week later, which was more I had to deal with. Not renting from this company again no matter what their price is.

Overall good experience but some billing hiccups. First time renting from Sixt downtown and ultimately I would recommend it, mainly based on the selection of cars. I rented a new and well equipped Suburban for a pretty reasonable rate- the car was great. That said, I had billing issues as they had incorrectly assessed an upgrade fee and then tried to charge me for a late return (I was on time). The counter agent also had told me they'd apply a discount at the end of my rental to compensate for the upgrade fee, but that never happened- even after emailing support. I will probably be back because of their unique premium car selection (they had plenty of BMW & Volvo sedans, SUVs, etc.) and easy location for NYC. But *pay attention to your bill*, both when you leave and after you return.

The vehicle was great but warning for low windscreen washer fluid kept popping up; The reservoir was completely dry. Was not told to return the vehicle through another garage via a different street. The entrances on Morris Street were shuttered. It was after hours and I and several others were totally surprised on returning the vehicle. A call to Sixt was interesting as I was told to park the car on the street with the key inside and not to worry because they have spare keys. That was not a response I expected. Anyone could have opened the car and stole it, and most likely the car would have been ticketed and towed by parking enforcement. I wondered who would have paid the $300 plus in fines?

As a gold+ member, I had originally given these guys 5 stars..but! today I found out they charged me nearly $500 on a $300 reservation without advance notice or warning to supposedly clean the car of dog hair. If they had the decency to offer it as an option - like they do with gas, I would have kept the car another 4 days and detailed it myself for less money! "No hidden charges"...my A$$!!! its unfair, bad business practice and borderline fraud. Im leaving it a 2 stars because the guy at the desk was nice and the car was a very safe drive. I include a pic of my dog...so you can be the judge if this little guys is making a $500 pile of hair!!

Looking forward to seeing her again in service with her once again asked what were we celebrating 26 years of marriage it was just a wonderful to see just such caring, passionate for her service I found out that Ms. Kay cheated me Out of my money because she said I would get a refund because she couldn’t use my card and the. My husband use his credit card we got charged for two car on the same day unreal if I was getting a refund back why did they use my payment as a Boucher on my husband’s car? She said he had to read it and that I will get my money back because they couldn’t use my debit card.

I truly do not understand why there are so many bad reviews here. It was the best rental car experience I’ve ever had. Brand new great vehicles, squeaky clean, perfect condition bmw x3. Kay and team provided great friendly service. So far, no unexpected charges. The only advice is use a credit card, not a debit card, since they do hold an extra deposit up to $500 on your card if you rent a luxury vehicle. If you do this with a debit card, those funds will be removed from your bank account until a week later when the authorization is voided. But they explain this up front. My experience here turned me from a Sixt skeptic to a Sixt fan!

Wonderful place. Super polite staff. Next time I rent a car I will definitely come back to Sixt in morris street. I reserved a BMW and after 10 minutes I had the car handed over. I got time to inspect everything on the car. Super nice people there , everything well organised and the garage is super spacious which makes it easy to drive in and out. The car was way above of what I expected. The car was almost new and in perfect condition I am thankful Sixt made my U.S roadtrip so pleasant. Definitely a 5 star rating. I hope I can make it back to U.S anytime soon. And if I need a car I will go to Sixt NY morris street

This was my first experience renting a car in USA. SIXT delivered everything as promised. Booking procedure was very easy and got very good rate for a brand new BMW X5. Staff at the SIXT Battery Park office in Manhattan was amazing. Jonathan handled my requirement in a friendly and professional manner . The day I picked the car was my birthday as well and He immediately recognized it and arranged a 2024 model as a Birthday Gesture. When returning the car, the Gentlemen who received it ( I missed his name) at the 6th floor car park was amazing as well. Overall I had a great experience and I will Definity rent again.

I wanted to love SIXT given their fleet and prices but had a relatively negative experience overall. The people working the desk will pressure you to upgrade to a more expensive car no matter how many times you decline. Additionally, we were charged for damage that we did not cause to the vehicle. Be sure to take pictures of the car before and after the rental. Nobody will look over the car with you before or after so it's entirely at their discretion. The car was pretty dirty at pick up and we ended up having to get windex to clean the windshield because it was so dirty on the inside.

Rented a car at West Palm Airport and was overwhelmed by how clean, efficient and friendly SIXT was. The shuttles were spotless and virtually brand new, running often so no wait times at all. Received our car quickly with pre-check in, and our car had less than 5,000 miles on it. The car was also spotless and we really enjoyed the whole experience. The price was also very good for the week. When returning the car, "THE Sam" greeted us with a smile and got us on our way quickly on the shuttle back to the terminals. Overall a fantastic experience!

The corporate account that was supposed to have multiple cars attached to it didn’t work. The person who checked me in did not tell me to look over the car. Also did not tell me to put the parking ticket in the key ring. Went all the way downstairs with a bunch of luggage to be told I had to go back upstairs and retrieve it. I was having a panic attack when I left because it was such a cluster getting the car parked. Now telling me I owe $550+ for a tiny crack in the bumper that I could not see because of how dark their parking lot is

I reserved a compact- they told me I had to take a BMW 3-series if I wanted to leave at the time of my reservation. A service warning about the car needing brake service was on the entire time. When I returned the car, they sent me an invoice for almost $1K for rust damage on a tire that already existed. When I called damage claims, the agent hung up on me when I asked about my options for contesting. You can see they have a pattern of doing this- putting off basic maintenance or repairs on the customer. They are committing fraud.

I've booked the car in NYC through SIXT website and got confirmation via email stating all you have to do now bring you driving licence and credit card with you to pick-up the car. When i went to pick up the car next day and waiting in a long queue, i was asked for my passport !!!!? The staff did not accept ID card or copy of passport that i had in my phone. I had to go home and get my actual passport which took me 90 minutes. I finally came back anf got the car but i missed my very important medical appointment. Thanks

My siblings and me rented a car as international drivers. We had our booking available at the time. Ricardo, our agent politely asked our destination, and after finding out we’re travelling to Canada Ontario and back, he suggested additional insurance options. Ricardo was very helpful and polite all the time through the whole encounter, and after a short period of time after our passports were checked in the system, we managed to get our car, an even better one than the one that was selected in the booking.

Our rental agent Kay is very good at her job! She was polite, courteous, thoughtful and knowledgeable. She took advantage of the tools available to her to provide information and provide us with an exceptional experience. One notable item is that we made an online reservation for an 8pm pickup/drop off and, we learned when we arrived at 7:58pm, that the location closes at 8pm. This would have been disastrous for our getaway. So glad the doors were not yet closed and glad she took the time to help us.

I booked a BMW X7 at $3000 for a month via the website. But I was told the booking "request" was never gone through. At the end I had to take a GMC Acadia at $2800. I was told by the manger that she would waive the fueling fee. Interestingly I found the car only had half tank of the gas. After returning the car, I received an invoice with a fueling fee of $150. Have contacted SIXT for couple of times and haven't heard any feedback besides the confirmation that they received my emails.

They offer nice fancy cars but be careful if you decide to return the car after hours. Take photos of the car parked on the 6th floor return area because you may need to show proof the car was returned. They have a practice of not checking in cars that have the keys left in their lock box. Customers are charged for an additional day and have to go through a lot of effort to get these erroneous charges removed. They also want to upsell drivers on the insurance. So renter beware.

The cars are nice but these people are all about the money and will leave you out there stranded in times of trouble with no remorse. Think about it before you book. $448 of hard earned money. They made the mistakes than tell me there are no refunds and left me stranded at the airport for hours no one to call or anything. I had to rent from another car rental it was a horrific experience and I wind up in the hospital with a hospital bill coming soon. Really bad customer service

Rented a car for a day but actually used it for only 3 hours locally in Manhattan as I was moving stuff, they claimed that the car was on full gas and when I return it, it was 4/8 so magically I wasted 6/8 gas locally in manhattan within 3 hours lol.( which is not btw! I do have a photo proof that the fuel wasn’t full ) and charged me 170$ for car fuel fees. Also aside from this up till now they didn’t release my security deposit! 20 days has passed and still nothing.

Even though 17 business days have passed, they did not refund my $200 deposit. They don't help at all and won't refund my money. I have complained many times and they always copy and paste the same answer. I have never regretted renting a car so much in my life. If I ever come back that day, I won't even pass by this company. My worst rental experience in my life. I regret it very much and I will take this company to court. Shame on you!

Absolutely worst car rental experience. Paid $1300+ for a 2020 Volvo S60 Turbo. Received a dirty car with a broken windshield and a blown out speaker. As well as a service light coming on for maintenance while I was driving on the first day of a two week rental. I spoke with customer service and all they were willing to do was to have me drive over an hour to an airport to exchange the car or charge me to have someone deliver a new car.

OVERCHARGING!!! Booked a car here several times. And every single rental they try to overcharge. Once they claimed car was returned a day later, but i had a parking proof that it was returned on time. Last time they charged me for pet hair cleaning. I dont have any pets, because i have an allergy on pet hair. Every single time they pushing you to upgrade car, purchase insurance even if you have one. Sixt is just a scam company.

THIS COMPANY GOING TO OVER CHARGE U!!!!!!!!!!! When I returned the vehicle the inspector noted the smell of smoke and charged me an additional cleaning fee. However, I neither I nor my fellow travelers smoked in the car during the rental period, nor did we allow anyone to smoke in the car. Therefore, we are very surprised by this allegation. We had no problems with Sixt and the staff was very helpful even though the system was a bit bugged. You could change your pick up time to an earlier time on the website or in the app a week prio, but apparently the original time will stay in the systems there. But even with this happening, the staff was able to provide us with everything we needed and we were on our way with our 10-day trip.

I rented a car here recently and was charged an additional $30 for toll “admin” fees. This is excessive because it was $5 per toll. I had sadly taken a couple wrong turns out of the city, which cost me a few extra toll charges. But compound that with this “admin” fee, and it’s $70 just to drive in and out of the city. I am glad to pay for my toll usage. But I will not be using SIXT again.

This rental company is a hair away from being a total scam. Be forewarned that they ask you to sign a blind signature computer page. They tell you the price that they are supposedly charging and when you get an invoice from them it is totally different. Be forewarned to ask them for a hard copy of their charges prior to you signing anything ! Simply put do not rent from this company !!

They have a pretty great range of cars, the 2 I rented were in pretty great conditions. Walk-in offers are pretty great as well. After hours car return needs better signs as the parking is huge and without workers around you can get lost. Also counter employees need to clarify fuel policy clearly, as I was charged more than the amount I used.

Car tank was only half full so filling back up to same level at return is a bit tricky. Also instructions inside garage are not very clear and ramp is narrow so be careful not scratch the car

Horrible company. Got their rental car insurance and paid a good amount extra for their coverage. Someone broke into my car and smashed my window and they claimed after the fact that 'their insurance didn't cover it'. Use your credit card company's insurance instead or better yet, ditch Sixt entirely.

Keisha at the 20 Morris St NYC location was great. Process was smooth and will be back. Dropping off after hours in the garage was a bit of a challenge, mainly because the path to drive up levels is extremely narrow. But that’s not a SIXT thing.
