I HOPE THIS REVIEW REACHES THE ACTUAL OWNER!!!! First, let me start off by saying I've been bringing my dogs to this office for years and the staff has always been excellent. However, I had not been here in a year or so. I came in yesterday with a litter of six Golden Retriever pups to get their health certificates, which means a complete physical examination, shots, and worm medicine. Everyone was smiling with amazing customer service, as always. That is until I met the vet, Gary Johnson. This is the first time my family has ever seen Dr. Johnson, an old man which appeared to be in his early 80's. The moment he walked into the examination room the extreme rudeness began. It was almost two hours straight of me and my family trying to be friendly and smiling, thinking maybe he would warm up a little. Boy was I wrong.... At one point, as he was administering a vaccine injection I asked him if the pups will feel a little bad for a day kind of like a kid when they receive a vaccine. He looked right at my 8 year old and said "maybe they'll just DIE"!!! I still tried to keep being friendly with him but it was to no avail. He kept making comments about the genetic issues Goldens have and kept treating us very poorly for having a litter of them. Once we were finally done I asked about having an acclimation certificate signed by this Dr. Johnson, which Delta airlines needs for one of my puppies to fly to California that's going to a family friend. The acclimation certificate just states that the dog is fine in the specified temperatures during flight. It's a very common form Delta uses for animal transport. He refused to sign it!!! They only had 5 of the 6 health certificates on hand that I needed, so lucky me gets to go back here once that comes in. So, after paying about $700 I still had to leave there and go to a different Vet office, pay for another exam for the one pup flying and they signed the acclimation certificate no problem and said they fill them out all the time. 4 of these 6 golden pups are going to friends and family that live right by Animal Care Center. I will make sure they do not take them here for sure. Along with everyone else we know in this area unless I get word that Gary Johnson is no longer employed here. Once again the rest of the staff was great!!!! We are contemplating filing a complaint with the state of Florida's Veterinarian Licensing Board.

This place doesn’t even deserve a single star. On 6/20 I brought my 4 year old cat into the vet due to wheezing, being lethargic, and not eating nor drinking. I was instructed to drop him off and the vet would look at him as soon as she got in. My poor baby wasn’t seen until after they did all the surgeries and when he was the doctor didn’t do anything for him. She said he was stable and normal, but didn’t do blood work or even give him fluids. We had to beg them to give our dehydrated cat fluids when we went to pick him up, because they claimed he was ok and it was only feline asthma. My husband challenged that and wanted to know exactly what was done for our boy and was told Dr.Chau Nguyen would call us as she was gone for the day. She called us Tuesday evening and when told Binx wasn’t doing any better, she acted surprised and then started saying there was no way she misdiagnosed him. My husband told her there was no improvement and he was only getting worse, so she called in a script for antibiotics. She knew she messed up, because she never called to check on him yesterday as she said she would. My poor baby passed at 1:35am today and he suffered at their hands, he never should have went through the pain he did. If Dr. Chau Nguyen actually cared and fully checked our cat, he firmly believe we would have been able to catch this or ease his suffering sooner. This was the worst experience of my life and I will NEVER step foot in this office ever again. And I’ll make sure everyone knows this is NOT any place to bring your animals and from the comments below, you’re no stranger to allowing peoples pets to die at your hands.

Last week brought my cat in, 11 years old. He had breathing problems, wasn't eating, and constipated. They took blood test and said results would be coming next day.. Next day said all results were good and normal. 2 days later he still wasn't feeling good nor any better. Took him to a Pet Hospital and they immediately asked if I had been informed that my cat had a heart murmur. Blood was taken and results showed several extremely low and high and water in lung and one kidney not working. They informed me if this problem had been diagnosed 4 or even 2 days ago,( I didn't say I had). They gave anti biotic shots and medicine. And said it would be a 40% chance he will survive since he was diagnosed so late and treated. He passed away less then 48 hours later, on the morning of my birthday. I don't feel St John's diagnosed him correctly or knew or were knowledgeable enough and will no longer go there, nor recommend them. I still feel the sorrow of losing my best friend and Birthdays will never be the same.

My entire family had used this veterinary practice for over 30 years until it was sold to an uncaring veterinarian who allowed my puppy to die because I did not have $500 cash deposit to provide to her before she even laid one eye on my animal. She sent in the receptionist with an itemized bill of services that had not yet even been rendered and refused to even see my animal who was writing in pain and clearly needed comfort and medical attention. When I could not provide $500 in cash she then called my family and tried to get the money out of them without my permission, still not seeing the veterinarian the receptionist comes in and tells us that we need to leave along with anybody else who does not have the $500 deposit prior to seeing anyone's animal. My puppy was only one year and 8 months old and she died that day. she didn't receive medical attention soon enough. This case is now under legal action. Please save the lives of your animals and do not go here

Absolutely amazing experience! They immediately helped my dog after a traumatic attack and never made me feel bad or uncomfortable for my financial situation. They aren't overpriced and every worker has the kindest heart. I'd recommend this place to everybody, they truly care about the animals that come in to see them. I'm very grateful Edit: it’s been two years since my last review but I have to add on more after today. I had my dog neutered, and was very nervous about it all with his separation anxiety and never having surgery done before. They were so kind and patient with me and were happy to help answer all of my questions. They comforted me and I felt completely involved in the entire process. They made sure my boy was never left alone. I love them and their hearts.

If you really care about your animal don't bring them here, they let my my poor cat suffer. All they did was drain my bank account for as much money as they could by the time we took him to a different vet it was to late they didn't share the test results and they could have put him on antibiotics and steroids to help but didn't. Shame on you for saying that you really care. Almost $600 dollars and all they said was we need to do more test. They took advantage of the love we had for our cat.(I guess they needed someone to make a house payment or something for them.)

One of my dogs was coughing, and previous treatment didn't seem to fix the issue. My regular vet was unable to squeeze her in so they refered me to SBJ. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, and the doctor spent a lot of time explaining everything to me. They took x-rays and did blood work and the cost was reasonable. Overall, they made our first experience with them a good one. If you don't have a regular vet and your looking in the area I would recommend them.

The wonderful folks at SJB Animal Care Center are LIFE SAVIORS. Amazing service, charming and professional staff that went above and beyond all expectations and gave our little one the help he needed even under “sticky” circumstances . The knowledge and service provided was incredible we most certainly recommend choosing SBJ Animal Care Center to all!

I brought my puppy Buddy up there a few weeks after getting him and he saw Dr Nguyen. She and her staff are amazing. They welcome us with warm words (and treats!) every time and treat both of us with love and respect. Only two visits in and we already feel like family. We look forward to seeing them as Buddy continues to grow like a weed! :)

My 14 year old female Pekingese had a seizure at my apartment- I called the closest place to me which was SJB Animal Care Center and they told us to come immediately! They took us right in to see the doctor. The staff was fantastic and understanding of the situation. Thumbs up to them all!!!!Unfortunately my Ginger didn't make it.

11/7/22 Took our cat Mosby in for yearly physical and Rabies shot. Must say a top-notch staff and doctors. Our cat isn't use to strangers, but they made him feel at ease and no problems and took concerns about a problem with his eyes crusting up, maybe an allergy. Highly recommended.

This was an excellent visit. The staff and Doctor Thivierge were courteous, thorough, and professional. They were concerned about my cat and did not perform any unnecessary tests etc. This Vet clinic is a good ways from my home but was worth the trip and any future trips.

Dr. Hansen and his staff are the best! Dr. Hansen never rushes me out; he listens and addresses all of my concerns. They get me in on the same day when my dog is not feeling well. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone looking for quality pet health care.

They are taking amazing care of my 15 year old cat today. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are average and I know my pet is in great hands. He is living his best life and is just here for a little bald spot. This is a quiet place, clean, and close to me. Love it!

I have 3 dogs, they have been great with all of them. Sig our 7 month old swallowed something I called said I need to bring him in. With no hesitation they said come in. They call to check on your pets once they are sent home as well. If they had major issues

This is my favorite vet to go to. My dogs for the past 11 years have been regulars here. They make my pets feel very comfortable and like family. I have had 2 pets pass and the package they offer is beautiful. I will never go to another vet.

Do not take your pet here. This family owned veterinarian office is all about money. I've not had the money to get this year's vaccinations and my dog is severely allergic to Grass just about everything so he's been taking apoquel from them
