I broke my foot back in August, and Sage literally helped me get back on my feet! About 6 months later, I was back to running 4 miles, 4 times a week. What a relief! COVID-19 precautions: Everyone wore masks at all times. Temperature was checked at the door. They make you wash your hands before you do anything else. I felt safe the entire time. Kristi was my main physical therapist, and I also had a couple sessions with Kathleen while Kristi was visiting family for a couple weeks. Both were fantastic to work with. My favorite part was they would explain the anatomy and exactly what their assigned exercises were doing for me. It made me feel confident in the exercises that were assigned. Kristi would always make sure I had a written copy of her assigned exercises (either on paper or via email). Both Kristi and Kathleen helped me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. Kali, who works the front desk, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We had an issue with my insurance at one point and Kali worked it all out for me. To top it off, we'd have fun conversations every time I went in. This was my first experience with PT, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks everyone at Sage!

Kathleen is an actual miracle worker, and you'd be so lucky to have her as your physical therapist. I came in post back surgery with a leg that barely worked, an enormous amount of pain, and a huge attitude about physical therapy (I'd done it in the past elsewhere and found it painful, useless, and was quite non-compliant). I'm leaving as a convert, having been educated on how and why I needed to do the exercises, doing them, and recovering so fast that even my surgeon commented on the speed of my improvement. Mike is also a wonderful pt, by the way. I've worked with when Kathleen's schedule was full, but that woman is just so far beyond wonderful that even a skilled and kind pt like Mike, who would normally deserve his own accolades when compared to people I've worked with elsewhere, pales in comparison. My family calls Kathleen "Anne Sullivan" for a reason, and she proves every visit why the reviews for Sage are so consistently superb. If you are lucky enough to find a hole in her schedule, snap. it. up.

Having been to several other PT practices over the years, I can truly attest to what a gem Sage is. It’s a small, locally owned business—by coming here, you will get 1:1, un-rushed treatment with world-class PTs who really care and know their stuff. I have mainly worked with Kathleen (the owner). She is a total pro—incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, cares deeply about her patients, and has really helped me to rehabilitate from a complex set of injuries and move towards being pain-free. She has also hired an amazing team—I have seen most of the other therapists at Sage at one time or another, and without exception they are knowledgeable and caring. Also, the billing practices are straightforward and fair. Sage PT has helped me immeasurably, and I feel so grateful to have discovered this practice. I have pointed several friends with stubborn injuries to Sage, and all of them have had nothing but positive things to say. If you are dealing with pain or an injury, you will be in great hands here.

After a car accident several months ago my chiropractor suggested I see a physical therapist. I was looking for a provider near my office and I'm SO GLAD I found Kathleen and Sage PT!!!! When 6 months of chiro and massage still left me with daily pain, it was time to try something else. Things I appreciate most about working with Kathleen: * Clear and practical explanations of anatomy and how it all should be working * Simple (but not easy) movements/exercises - one session she even took a quick video of my attempt at an exercise which was crazy helpful in understanding what I was doing and how to do it better * Excellent communication skills, both in listening, hearing, and validating what I felt, and then always following up on our visits. Lizette who helps with scheduling is also awesome! * Last but not least, I FEEL BETTER. Things aren't perfect (likely won't with my body/age/etc), but things are much more functional This was my first experience in PT and it could not have been better.

Kathleen and Sage PT made me feel whole again! I felt physically and mentally broken for months from multiple sport & occupational related injuries. After getting the run around for other places, I decided to give Sage PT a try since a customer of mine recommend them. From one visit, my whole world felt better. I could move and was in much less pain! Kathleen was able to identify everything wrong with me after combing through my mash-up of issues, breaking down each one of them, and addressing them completely with exercises and adjustments. Since I will be moving overseas shortly, she was showed me what I could between now and then to get better. The overall atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and warm. Everyone takes their time to listen. They are professional and clear. If you need a PT that will listen to you, address all your needs and work with you at your pace to get you better, head over to see Kathleen and everyone at Sage. You all truly saved me. Thank you!

I am deeply grateful for this place. I came for pelvic floor therapy, and was met with kindness, understanding, and genuinely trauma-informed care from both Steven at the front desk and Kerry, my therapist. I deal with Chronic Lyme disease; this has prevented me from being able to sign up for care with other medical facilities in the past due to the unexpected nature of flare ups. Sage PT offered me kindness, flexibility and understanding when I had flare ups, without the consequence of financial cost due to cancellation; this kind of care is so rare, and is the heart of disability justice. I continued care with Kerry for chronic headaches, neck pain, and thoracic pain and immobility. I appreciated her skill, insight, patient education, friendliness and holistic care. She never gave up on me, though I often came with heaightened areas of pain week to week. I left feeling much more empowered to tend to my pain and support the activities I love doing. Thank you!

I went with Sage PT for post-op PT after dislocating my shoulder skiing last season and I couldn't be happier, I'd highly recommend Sage PT anyone looking for a new PT. Kathleen runs an excellent practice with a real focus on full patient care, and she provided excellent care along with Kerry, Jo, and Kali. They followed the regime set out by my doctor and adapted the program to my needs to help me build my shoulder back to full mobility and strength. In the time I was going through PT they took on a new PT and invested in more exercise equipment to have more available for patients. I'd highly recommend Sage PT and if I do have any issues in future, I know where I'll be returning to.

Update: Sage physical therapy took part in a lawsuit against the city for not clearing the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone during the 2020 racial justice uprising. Based on this action, I no longer recommend anyone use this service. Other events like the Capitol Hill block party and Pride are just as disruptive but have not caused Sage to sue. This obstruction of civil rights is not one I tolerate. [older] Kathleen's treatment helped me recover from a pinched nerve and, hopefully, not have recurrences. She explained anatomy, helped me feel what exercises should feel like, had ingenious ideas for devices to target specific areas, and got my body feeling very stable and healthy.

I started seeing Kathleen over a year ago as I was misdiagnosed with a herniated disk. I came into Kathleen’s office with a limp on my right leg and being unable to sit for long periods of time (as well as a bunch of other issues that came with right leg pain). She immediately found the source, my pelvis on my right side was tilted, which was pulling all of muscles quite tight. After a year of seeing her, I no longer have a limp and have been able to start lightly exercising. In addition to helping me get better, Kathleen is awesome as a person and I truly enjoyed just hanging with her during sessions. She’s got great bedside manner and really cares about her patients.

I endured tailbone pain for over a year. Doctors could not find anything with CAT scans, X-rays and after repeated specialist visits, one mentioned I should try physical therapy. I have been suspicious of PT in the past because of non-results. However, after my first session with Kathleen, I was sold on the profession. She found the source of pain that no one else could see in the past 12 months. My pain diminished 70% after the first session and about 90% after the 2nd session. This is miracle-class results. Not only did my pain practically disappeared, but Kathleen took the time to explain and help me understand what she was doing, and why. An absolute professional.

Had the pleasure of working with Kathleen for a few months. She is genuine, knowledgable and is willing to share that knowledge so you can learn how to care for yourself. I can tell she wants me better and I appreciate that. For someone who's been through surgery, PT, lots of imaging and a revolving door of specialists, I especially appreciated the care. My pains, excuses, thoughts, theories and desires were heard and considered. We worked on a reoccuring injury but also just weak, unaddressed muscles. The facility is clean, spacious and open. Friendly staff. Mandatory temp checks and immediate hand-washing at the door.

Running has always been extremely important to me and over the years I've had numerous injuries which have sidelined me. A couple years ago I developed persistent hamstring and hip pain and after seeing multiple physical therapists and two sports medicine specialists, I thought I would have to hang up my running shoes forever. I'm so fortunate that I found Kathleen. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and doesn't give up until she finds a solution. Her approach was successful and I'm now back happily running. She is truly brilliant and I feel so lucky that I found her. I cannot recommend her more highly.

If physical therapy was a customized concierge service, this is it. I started working with Kathleen 5 years ago as part of my recovery from spine surgery. Kathleen literally helped me walk again through thoughtful exercises and progressive strength work. Over the years I have come back to Sage for other sports injuries. Kathleen‘s expert knowledge in hip, pelvic floor and core muscles has expanded my mobility and overall well-being. Lastly, our sessions gave me long-lasting tools that I have referred to over the years. I highly recommend a visit to Sage!

Kathleen at Sage Physical Therapy is the best PT I have ever seen, hands down. She approaches physical therapy needs on a very individual basis, and creates exercises and techniques that are specific to your needs. I first saw her for a hip issue, and her therapy exercises and feedback essentially cured my pain. I then had issues with my ribs and neck, and she was really creative in developing exercises and tools specific to my fitness and physical activity goals. I will most definitely see her again if I ever need physical therapy. Highly recommended!

I was referred to a Sage PT through a friend, honestly amazing service overall. I absolutely loved working with Kerry. I previously had a bad experience with physical therapist but Kerry is amazing. What i love about Kerry is that she shows you the exercises you need to do at home but records you doing the exercise while explaining what you should be doing and uploads it to the app that is very helpful. If you're a runner and what to continue running pain free, this is the place you need to be at.

I chose Sage instead of the place my doctor referred to me because the reviews were so positive. I had awful back pain for years after an injury, and frankly was starting to believe it was just the new reality for me. Johanna is fantastic to work with, and gave me the knowledge needed to address my pain. I no longer battle constant back pain. You owe it to yourself to come here!

This place is so good! Everyone who works here is helpful and welcoming and super chill. I had Mike as my physical therapist and he did so much to help me. I had intense chronic lower back pain and after a month or so he had me feeling a thousand times better! Anyone looking for a good PT should try Mike, he has decades of experience and is just great

I'm generally pretty skeptical of PT and try to avoid the hassle as I hope to recover from my injuries on my own (I know this is a dumb approach). Kathleen at Sage has changed my mind. She took my chronic bursitis and in just a few weeks had me back on my feet running and doing what I love again. I am so grateful!

Johanna Leader is exceptional- from the care and respect she has for her patients to the extensive knowledge and expertise in her field. I cannot recommend Johanna enough!! In my experience, this clinic overall has been very LGBTQ+ friendly and very COVID conscientious. Friendly, kind people found here!

5-star experience at Sage physical therapy. Kathleen is amazing. She's a real expert at her job and made me feel so comfortable. She entertained me so well with her stories that I barely ever felt the pain. The clinic staff are also super helpful :) Highly recommend this place!

  • Mike L

Fantastic physical therapy! I went in for post-op (rotator cuff) and Kathleen got me back to 100% in a few months. She listens, thinks carefully about your issues, and looks for the root of the problem. Plus she's a nice person. I wholeheartedly recommend Sage PT.

Sage is great! I work with Sydney, she is so smart and personable and somehow makes going to PT enjoyable ;) She has an amazing holistic approach, is invested in patient education, and makes a plan that is specific to your lifestyle and activity goals.
