We’ve been here a couple of times and this last time was the absolute worst experience we’ve ever had in a theater. The good: AVX is super nice, we were in the front row and still a decent viewing experience. The ease of use to order your combo and pick it up at the station is genius!! The bad: place is rundown, their fountain drinks lack flavor, we got a Coke and a Coke Zero. Both drinks were similar to a bottle of topo chico mineral water. Zero flavor. Popcorn was super salty, if you get a bucket you have to keep it below the rim to allow it to fit underneath the butter station. Two out of the three seats didn’t recline. This is by far the dirtiest theater in San Antonio, there was popcorn, napkins, crumbs of food everywhere on the floor. This is supposed to be a premium name in the entertainment world but they certainly have very low standards at this location. I recommend traveling a few minutes so that at the very least you have a cleaner experience. If their prices would reflect their theater score, the fee would be all inclusive for $5.00. I don’t know how they can justify charging anything more. Update: Not at all pleased with the response, seats should be in 100% working order before the movie starts. In the future if you are ever needing assistance please speak to a Member of Management so they can assist you in that moment. However, I would like to offer you a Mega Combo for your next visit.

This was Oppenheimer weekend. Went to the Mayan. No pictures, sorry. Staff was extremely friendly and cordial. Did check my purse, prior to entry. Went to the bar (alcohol), to ask a question. The bartender totally ignored me. Anyhoo... The facility was very clean. Purchased the large popcorn and soda for free refills. The Popcorn Machine is cool, self-service. The popcorn looked fresh under the light; however, was warm to cold. Butter was hot. This is the second time in a while that I have purchased the popcorn. Same as the first time. Pertaining to the self-serve soda machine, well 2 of the 4 machines were malfunctioning. It just was not worth the $15.00 I paid. The theater was big, seats reclined, comfortable. The movie itself was great. A bit chilly, may need a light sweater or blanket throw. I would say, yes go the Mayan. Just purchase food and soda.

Update: emailed Santikos customer service which basically said that they noticed the wear and tear and apologized for the seats not being in "perfect condition". Santikos is required to pay the film industry and therefore could not reimburse me for my inconvenience/purchase. Sorry Mayan but I'll take my money elsewhere and don't mind paying more for better quality customer service. Been a year since I visited this place until yesterday. Saw the Iron Claw at theatre #7 sat on the back row seat 6 and 7. The arm rests were destroyed and the seats were slashed as you could see the exposed yellow foam inside. I paid premium price for recliners and expect top service. What gives?? Fix it or refund me!

I paid 62.93 to watch five nights of freddy.. two managers told me, I had to repurchase tickets. I even paid reservations, and now they don't want to refund my money. My understanding tickets were for 10/27/2023@0645, yet ticket was for 10/26/2023@0645. I got burned . I give them no stars. I am going to get my bank to request my money returned. Since they don't want to refund me. They wouldn't let me even watch the movie. I'm a senior citizen and these young managers don't care if your on a budget. They wouldn't let me stay and watch the movie. There was alot of empty seats. Yet alot of kids went in and not paying to watch movie.

Ok so the movie I chose was eh! Not bad but not good (Lives inside) but I ordered the "spicy" half beef half chicken nachos. They were yuck all the way, tasted funny on 1st bite but tried once again to confirm and yup they were not only stale chips but meat tasted weird so threw them away along with the $18 bucks I spent on them. The drink I purchased was a Modelo draft dressed and he did a good job $10 well spent. Doesn't mean I will not be going again as I like the mayan but never again on the nachos and peeps spicy should mean spicy and not jalapenos on the side -_- I have pictures but not allowing me to post

Jun 2 came to see new Spider-Man movie with my son the movie was shut down due to weather they explain that day we can come whenever to see same or different movie. Barely had the chance to come today and redeem it. Came today June 15 to redeem and spoke to manager Chris Ceballos which was very rude and giving smart attitude this is how y’all treat y’all’s customer. I should get a refund due to not watching complete movie. Chris Ceballos learn how you talk and humble yourself to your customers he told me he couldn’t give me corporate number or store number . What kind of manager can’t do that.

If I could give it a 0 I totally would… Don’t try and go watch a Rated R movie with a baby in tow cause it’s against their policy and they won’t let you. My son is 6M old and they said he couldn’t enter cause he was under the age of 7yrs. the most ridiculous policy ever. I understand if he understood what is going on but he is 6M old this policy should be revised maybe start it at a higher age like 2 and up an infant has no clue what’s going on. From now on I will just wait till the movie comes out on Amazon or any other streaming site and pay to watch it in the comfort of my own home.

Place is more of a self-serve which is pretty good. Looks like it helps with wait time for concession stands. However it's a digital pay only. No cash.. staff is friendly overall very clean. Just beware of parking lot. Would not recommend this place for a late show. Maybe if they would have patrols/ security for the parking lot would make a huge difference. 1 star due to safety. My coworkers before going informed me of shootings stabbings and car jacking at gun point there. That is very unfortunate. Because it's a really nice place.

I believe it's been over 2 years since I left Cinemark to come here. I enjoy coming here especially with the recliner seats but lately I've noticed not all reclining seats are working as good as before. It happened to me on my visit, my seat would not go back down when the movie was over. I had to stand up and jump over so that I could get out. Some seats are very old where the material is falling apart. For as much as they charged they should be able to do repairs and make their customers feel at ease.

Things are really changing, seems that almost everywhere I go there's hardly people working behind the scenes. Everything has become self serve. Hadn't been to this theater in a while, I was unpleasantly surprised that you now stand in front of a machine to get your own tickets. You pay for food and beverage and they give you the containers to serve yourself, wow! I'm not a big fan of this, I don't appreciate paying to serve myself, put the people back to work, I'm sure they need a job, so sad.

Woo Hooooooo!!! The Mayan is back and I'm updating our review, super upgrades and better snack and food options. Fully functional bar for the adults and big screen tv. Party room for Birthday partys. Rewards program is on point and fully functional!! Reclining seats, leather, very comfortable. Very spacious theaters. Updated: 10 of 2020. Stupid COVID-19 has hit the Mayan and all.precautions are in affect. Even the self serve popcorn machine, crazy cool!! Lots and Lots of precautions!!

Would have gave it no stars ✨️ I wasn't expecting it to be cashless. If you have cash there is a kiosk that you can use to change your cash to card there's a service fee of 3 dollars. Then they want to look into your purse which is just ridiculous not even the Northside does this!!! Anyways I won't be coming back to this location I felt singled out have a Happy day everyone.

The experience felt very cheap and run down. The theater has no flare or spectical like AMC or Regal, in the end I felt a little let down when seeing the theater, the arcade was very bear and minimal, the bar was the only good thing but even then you have to buy a ticket. This theater has a long way to go. Great bar but not a great movie theater.

The seats are great there. Had a great experience. I love the new rewards program. Now I can get something free for all the money I spend here. The arcade is pretty nice place to kill time while waiting for you movie. Plus the burger and fries was surprisingly good. If you are on the south west side of town this is where you should go see a movie

Brought my grandkids to see Willy Wonka, yes nice and clean. But there computers were down. We couldn't purchase any popcorn or dinks. Talked to the manager, he has no answer, he was waiting to hear from corporate. I just wanted my popcorn so sad . I really wanted my money back. But I didn't want to be a Karen. It was 5 of us …

Service was great, food tasted great. The seats are made for the heavyweight like myself which is the reason I come here. I got nachos and a combo (2drinks & popcorn) $30 Free refills are awesome. I have come here at night and I don’t recommend because the people don’t respect. There is always someone making noise. That’s my only negative.

The movie theater was very clean. There was plenty of staff to assist you. The ladies bathroom had lots of stalls, no waiting in line. You have the choice of soda or a slushy. You serve your own pop corn and add your own butter. I really like it. It had been many years since I been here. I’m so glad it has been remodeled.

This is an awesome theater! It's always full because this is a great location for our youth to be able to watch a movie and play some video games. The seats are awesome, but some do need some updating as some are torn. That really needs to be fixed. They also should bring back the Michelada! Miss that in the theater!

This is one of the main theaters I frequent. Free popcorn/drink refills. They dress the beers better than other theaters. Place is usually spotless. Big theaters with friendly staff. They immediately removed a loud group of teens when seeing the new Insidious, which is faster than most theaters I've dealt with that.

Rude assistant manager came up interrupts our movie and yelled at us for giggling too loud instead of politely asking us to quiet down, he yelled waving around his finger like we were children “be quiet or I’ll kick you out “. Very degrading and embarrassing, dirty theatre. Never returning here.

The staff are the friendliest people ever, I love the taste of the food they make, and the movie quality is always on point!! I went to watch Avatar the way of water (spoiler: it was so so sad I nearly cried) but anyhow I always come here to see the latest movies, so you should too!

Went to go see hunger games & has teens talking a laughing through the entire movie complained multiple times to manger Chris a they did absolutely nothing . Not even a refund or anything spent over $100 on tickets & snacks super disappointed. Deserves 0 stars

Theater is great. Everything is great except for the caption devices for deaf/hoh customers. Several times I had to go to the service desk because of issues with my caption device. Felt like I missed a 2/3 if the movie because of my caption device

The lobby is always clean! It’s the cheaper place between Mayan and City Base. Popcorn is self serve as well as the drinks which I LOVE! Popcorn butter was full and soda picas my throat! Definitely will be back!!

Good place to go except seen two movies there now on an AVX screen and both times the movie was not full screen two big black spaces on both sides. But hopefully they fix that other than it's great

My purse got randomly searched per safety. How safe is it when five or six people pass without being searched, because to me , safety isn't random!! Haven't been back in months!!!

Me and my daughter went to go see the fnaf movie and it was good! Some employees helped us out and he was super sweet the food is pretty good so it's great to go here!

An establishment that is 100% cashless will always get a big no for me. On top of that seats seemed worn. Concessions were good but won't be coming back

I love going here it's usually clean when I go but the popcorn area needs to be picked up more and the games need to be fixed

First time in the theater, and I enjoyed the whole family atmosphere.
