I recently traveled to CA from CO and had never rented a Car before. I had fears of losing precious vacation time and money during the rental process. My vehicle was parked by the gate ready for my arrival. We had some friendly conversation and I was out of there in less than 15 minutes! This was such a great feeling to begin my vacation with. Last year I made a reservation of an eight passenger vehicle in a different car rental place that was supposed to be a good deal for my "BUDGET" but I did it on line two weeks prior my trip, well, the night before I received an email from this BUDGET place giving me the choice of checking in ahead of time to save time at the moment of picking up the vehicle, well, I also needed to add a driver, which had no extra charge bug when I tried to update the information they did a reset on the price increasing the rate three times more of my original reservation deal. I ended up canceling the reservation and I desperately started looking for a place to rent another 8 passenger vehicle, and luckily a friend referred me to Morgan, the person in charge of Service Rent a Car. He was super nice and was able to get a new sienna that was much better than the one I was going to rent at the other place and it was even cheaper than my first reservation. He even provided me the lock combination of the yard where they park the vehicles for me to be able to deliver the Van after hours at no extra charge. Excellent service!!

I have to say flying into San Jose from Hawaii and looking for a minivan on a week when there is a convention in town is no easy task. As I googled and looked at the yellow pages, I called Service Rent-A-Car and talked to Jake and they got the best rate for a minivan out of all the rental car companies and had a few available. Never heard of Service rent a car so I was hoping that they would have a clean and decent minivan for the price that they quoted. When I pulled in to the lot, I was happy to see a variety of full size cars and even passenger vans that with the Toyota Sienna minivans I was hoping to rent. If you have your money in place, you won't be disappointed with customer service and supporting this locally owned business. I can't Jake enough for the great price and service. After checking out on Sunday, Anne gave me a ride to the Diridon train station which is minutes away after I was cutting it a bit too close. Thank you Anne….I made my train. Looking to rent a cargo van? Your search is over, look no more -- this is THE place. My entire experience was awesome -- from the first phone call until the very end. You will find a personal approach, straightforward attitude, attention to detail where it counts and not being picky where it doesn't, and the good price. Being able to leave your car in their parking lot -- which does have a fence -- is valuable. Great location too. You can also have a nice chat to bring your mood up. Overall A+++ hands down. Great experience with this place. Originally planned to rent a car through Turo since it tends to be cheaper for under-25 drivers. The driver before me damaged the Turo car leading to my rental being cancelled while my plane was in the air. Called Service Rent A Car at the recommendation of a family member and they were able to get me a car on short notice for $100 CHEAPER than my original Turo rental. Staff very professional and friendly as well.

Service Rent a Car should be everyone’s first stop when renting a car. As a young person under the age of 25, it is amazingly difficult to find a rentable car and quality service. However, Morgan and Jake @ Service Rent a Car provided exceptional service, quality rate, and a great car for my girlfriend and I’s trip to Tahoe. Don’t ever think about going to a name brand car rental provider again, this is the place to go!

I needed a cargo van for moving a mattress and some other large items, and Service Rent-A-Car had exactly what I needed. The service was extremely good, van was in great shape, and pricing was clear and simple -- and around half the cost of other major rental companies. They gave us a full 24 hours to keep the van and let me park my car in their lot overnight. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Service Rent-A-Car is located in downtown San Jose off of First Street. Great, friendly service. Locally and family owned. Great prices. The Toyota Camry was $49 per day with 150 miles. Weekly and monthly rates are available. Full collision insurance, California DL, credit card and 25+. Some credit cards include collision insurance if you only have liability insurance. Started out nice then went bolistic when our adjuster for the auto claim went on vacation. Okay so this is a car insurance claim rental. Yeah it happens. They are charging over $150 for 2 days? This is suppose to be covered 100% by the person who hit us so Get A Grip! Your not getting ripped off. There's a claim number and everything!!!! Don't use this place they are unprofessional!!!!

Amazing experience! We rented a 15-passenger van, and Morgan worked with us very closely to ensure everything about our rental went according to plan -- everything from insurance, to number of seats in the van, to how to pickup & drop off the van. The van itself was very new, and easy to drive, with a back-up camera and the ever-important aux jack. Great experience overall!

I shared review of this place couple weeks ago and sure enough like i said it was removed or modified, all i said was put honest review based on my experience with them, unfair business on their part, very expensive and they dont disclose all charges up front so at the end you will be charge a lot more, be aware people my honest advice walk away from this guys..

Great place to rent a car. The customer service is exceptional and prices are fair. The gentleman who answered the phone even offered to drive me back to my office. The only thing to improve is to keep car interior a bit cleaner, since I was needed just a fast drive that was not a big deal for me. Thank you! Will definitely suggest to use their service.

Recently rented a 15 passenger van from them. They had the best price I found and they were great to deal with. It is a family run business, so they don't have an Internet reservation system like many rental companies do, but this minor inconvenience is more than compensated for by their customer service.

Customer Service is good.. can be expensive sometimes.. at the time of booking they don't tell you the type of car / seating.. you will have to ask.. especially with the 12/15 seater vans.. we were little disappointed that we were not given choice of some newer vans they have.

They are like the ACE hardware store as to the home depot. Service knows the mileage you might need and charge a reasonable price. First thought was the space was not so big but at the end everything fits. So I would use their service again when I move stuff.
