Absolutely disgraceful service from the SALES TEAM! My mother and my self have recently put in an offer on a property, I had originally recieved a call from there mortgage advisor to say I need to come in to discuss my mortgage options, I had mentioned we already I have a BUY TO LET mortgage agreed with the company MORTGAGE WORKS and that I am able to provide this via email and any other documentation that may be required in order for them to know that I am serious and I have the funds to purchase the property. They first said no its okay will let you know if any documents is required... then I get a call maybe 4-5 days later to say can you come in to see a mortgage advisor, I had said I already have my mortgage agreed in principle, anything else required I'm more than haply to send it in but I DO NOT REQUIRE A MORTGAGE FROM YOU! I get a call from the mortgage advisor later to say we need to do an affordability check as it is a company who is selling the property, so far the information I have given all sounds good but I need to come in to provide documents, I said okay fair enough so arranged a time and day unfortunately had a hospital appointment so I rearranged it for a different day, now very unfortunately the night before my appointment day my family home got burgled and my wife and kids and my mother were all very traumatised, I was having to deal with the police and also try and get my family home secure again as there was a lot of damage, I get a call from NICOLA frome SALES. She mentioned the mortgage advisor had called me on 2 occasions I said yes I'm sorry unfortunately my property got broken in to and my family are currently in a very upsetting stage as well as my self. SHE MENTIONS YOU CANCELLED YOUR LAST APPOINTMENT DUE TO A HOSPIATL APPOINTMENT AND ANOTHER NOW BECAUSE OF BURGLARY, I'M THINKING IS THIS PERSON FOR REAL, FORGET OH IM SORRY TO HEAR THIS HOWEVER THERES AN ALTERNATIVE IF YOU CANT COME IN, SHE HAS GOT SOME REAL NERVES TALKING IN SUCH A DISRESPECTFUL WAY! I MENTIONED TO HER LOOK I DID STATE EVEN A WEEK AGO TAKE THE DOCUMENTS VIA EMAIL IF YOUR TEAM REALLY NEED IT, AND DONT QUESTION ME ABOUT WHY MY 2 APPOINTMENTS HAVE BEEN MISSED. IF YOU REQUIRE A CRIME REFERENCE NUMBER OR MY HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT EVIDENCE YOUR MORE THAN HAPPY TO CHECK IM NOT WASTING ANYONES TIME. AND SHE HUNG UP! WHAT A DISGRACE TO SHIPWAYS FOR HAVING SUCH AN ARROGANT UNPROFESSIONAL ENPLOYEE. TO NOTIFY YOU THIS IS THE PROPERTY ON HIGHLAND ROAD GREAT BARR THAT ITS IN REGARDS TO. I was thinking if my offer is accepted I will use shipways to manage my buy to let on this property and the other 2 I have. However I wouldn't even purchase from them even if I really loved a property due to this recent experience! Mortgage advisor I think his name was Kasim did not be rude in anyway just so that shipways are aware.

We were ecstatic to have found someone like Adnan in our lettings journey. From the first telephone call, all the way up until we received the keys for the property; Adnan kept us informed of each and every stage of the process and genuinely helped us obtain this property. We would 100% recommend Adnan to anyone! Due to unforeseen circumstances; the initial property that we had put an application in; which was with another agency; the letting agents were extremely unhelpful and rude, however we got through the process and the Landlord informed us to provide our notice to our current agents as the property was basically all good to go; however at the end moment the Landlord removed their property from the market and we could not withdraw our notice with our current agency; so we would have been homeless should we have not been able to secure another property. We then made a call to Shipways Great Barr and Adnan was a god send for us! He fundamentally prevented us from becoming homeless. This man needs a promotion! Adnan is the first agent we have come across (and we have been to many!) who actually cares about both the Landlord AND the Tenant! He is an asset to Shipways. We sincerely thank you once again Adnan! You helped provide our little girl a home; and for that we will forever be grateful!

We recently worked with Mr Yasser Sheikh for our mortgage loan. My husband and I are very thankful for Yasser’s professional, responsive and honest assistance with our whole mortgage process from beginning to end. From the start he has shown exemplary professionalism in handling our loan. He was straight forward and very helpful in explaining the process from start to finish. We hit a few snags in the process but in the end we are on our way to getting our dream home. We could not have done this without him. Do not use them to buy a house unless you won the lottery they will tell you is this your best and final offer to try bump up sales and lie to so they can achieve more commission also don’t use their mortgage advisor Kassem his not a straight up person he actually told me he likes to only on most case help first time buyers because he struggled to buy his first property he mentioned that himself to me which I think is very unfair professional I think he and other staff maybe be apart of it but they will only put through offers to the seller of the house who they want or like maybe even take a drink under the table be careful i fee sorry for the seller and buyers this related to a property on caddick Rd kept saying the seller rejected the offer 3 times 183 - 185 - 190 and the house is priced at 180k I am putting this in detail so people are understand what I mean also to google this is a genuine review so please don’t remove it

Shipways simply wastes a hell of time of ours. After reviewing all the documents, lettings manager invited us for viewing. I have to travel 4hrs to view his advertised property. Despite of me ready to move immediately, he rejected my offer. He simply collects all the confidential documents like payslips, passport, bank statements etc etc. and keeps it in his download folder. He will invite you, waste your time and reject the offer for no reason. if anyone is looking for lettings, please dont approach SHIPWAYS. it is useless agency. SHIPWAYS simpley takes all your confidential data and your time for visiting the property for no use. Please dont trust this useless agency. Really Really awful and disgusting. Please dont waste your time. Shipways works only for landlords. They dont work in favour of tenants or respect their time. Money minded people.

Absolutely disgusted with the customer service from the 'sales' team!! Myself and my partner are landlord, we would have used Shipways to manage them on our behalf but they are not competent with potential tenants. Our sister called the Great Barr branch regarding a property to let today (05/10/2023), the advisor told her that the property had sold even though it was a property to 'LET'. I called back on my sisters behalf to verify the property was still available to, but again was greeted by a member of the 'SALES' team who was very ignorant, he told me that the lettings team finish at 18:00, but it was 16:47 when I asked the question due to no-one from the lettings team being in office!! This level of customer service is not acceptable, they will lose potential landlords and tenants with that behavior.

If you are looking for a relaxed, kind and informative letting experience I would 100% recommend Adnan. For me Adnan and Shipways set the standard in service excellence. I was looking for a property for my family and assisted by Adnan. He's communication was clear and straight forward, he went out of his way to keep us updated and even arranged an early viewing. When viewing the property informed us all the Pro's and Con's. I was looking to buy property last 2 years but every time I stuck with lots of issues and thought may be it's not easy for me to buy a property and lost lots of money. Met some broker who took money from me just for the mortgage principle letter. But Yasser Sheikh mortgage broker of Shipways who helped me alot throughout my journey. Best mortgage broker I ever met. In profession he is 10 out of 10. The level of service at the branch is diabolical phones are never answered and staff are apparently not available all week. Been tenant for 12 month improved the property we was renting and still are struggling to get the deposit back. Be careful using this agency as you will have to fight to get your deposit back even though they have rented the property out straight after you vacated so clearly there was no issue with the property. It is disgusting that we now have to write a letter of complaint to the deposit holders as apparently DEA (the company used for the inventory) have no policy in place if no communication is given to them in regards to the deposit. I would not ever recommend this agency.

When our previous tenants moved out, I considered dealing with finding new tenants myself. I am so glad I changed my mind! From start to finish, Adnan and Clint could not have been more helpful. ABSOLUTELY AVOID THESE CROOKS!!! i viewed a property through Shipways a few weeks ago. Qasim (their sales rep) tried to pressure me to take a mortgage through them (so that they get abit more from commision). Ive come to learn that they sold the house for £10K less than what I offered to someone who took a mortgage through their brokers. They made an extra £1K commision through the mortgage which would have been more than what they would have made by selling the house for £10K more with myself. GET RID OF STAFF MEMBERS SUCH AS QASIM WHO HAVE UNETHICAL PRACTICES!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Terrible! I would avoid! Once they take your money it’s like you don’t exist! We called throughout our tenancy with separate issues and none they dealt with! We have a baby and they didn’t see a cause for concern with electrical issues or the fact we had a bees nest. Their customer service is the worst I’ve experienced throughout my years of renting. Constantly leaving urgent voicemails and asking for a call back which fell on deaf ears. Once leaving the property they disregard you and don’t care wether you are happy or try and assist the return of your deposit. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!

Very Bad letting service. Trying contact by call and by email no response. The letting agent is always busy. Saw a letting advertisement on their website. It says they need tenet ASAP. They took all the documents and put me on hold. Not telling me anything. Not responding to my email. I went to the office agent was not there. Calling him not answering my calls. It’s been 10 days since I have trying to get an answer. Just call me or email me or pick up my call and please say yes or no that’s all I want to hear.

Nothing less than perfect service from shipways estate agents in great barr, adnan promised us a 72 hour turnaround on a rental service and we got it in approx 36. Adnan helped us from understanding the rental process and clearly defined how shipways helps us through the journey aswell. Never received service like the one we did for our rental property and would recommend shipways to everyone. 5 out of 5.

This agent are very good and fast at signing you up to sell your home. Always answering your calls immediately. But as soon as your signed up they will never reply to your queries. The agent we dealt with wanted to sign us up on the same day to help with her monthly target. I'm sorry but I'm not into YOUR targets . I'm into selling my home I took it off them I wouldn't recommend them

My tenants moved out just over a week ago so I checked out several Estate/Letting Agencies in the area and decided to go with Shipways. I dealt with Tom and Elton who were very good, proactive and responsive. There was an 8 day turnaround from my previous tenants moving out to the new ones moving in today, so very happy with the service and would definitely recommend them.
