This place has so much potential to be amazing, highly profitable and popular sports bar. Sadly what they lack in morals for a quick small gain will kill the business in the long run, as reviews and word of mouth get out. Tonight was my first time here with my friend, great environment amazing music very happy to be here initially. after ordering food and drinks, well over tipping and complementary to waitress on her hard work and making sure that she's well taken care of financially for the hard work that she's putting in. I am instead greeted with Low morals and lack of trust as I pay for a five dollar drink with a $20 bill and ask her just to bring $12 back (pretty amazing tip for one drink that cost $5) and The tips like that kept going on the food and all the other drinks I got before this. So after about 20 minutes goes by I have to go up and ask for the $12 that she told me she was going to come back with. Her explanation was " oh I was just going to hold onto the cash just in case you wanted to order another drink" nope that has never happened to me ever in 100+ bars. All this to say I am here to spend money be nice and cordial and overpay for good service, but I do not want to be finessed or robbed or played games with my money. This was obviously a play by the bartender to hope that I was drinking and would forget about the $12 that she could pocket at the end of the night when I left and forgot about the money. Sad to see very frustrated when I am nice complementary, and overtip time and time again and get treated with this kind of service.

I always give places I visit at least three visits before I give a review. I’ve been with my boyfriend about five times now to Skybox. We have been on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It’s always almost empty, which is fine by us because we don’t like crowded places. But if you like being around a large crowd, this is not the place for you. The food is great for a sports bar, the drinks are good and we like the mix of music. However the service is not the best. Like I mentioned the place is always almost empty. We arrived it took almost 40 minutes to get a waitress, mind you there were only seven people at the time. It felt like they didn’t even want to be there. No smiles just frowns. They appear upset when you want to order more drinks also. Which is bizzare being that it’s your job. Overall the place is very nice and clean, the food is great, the drinks are good, the music is good but the service is horrible. The only reason we will keep coming back is due to the small crowd and other pluses. The security was more friendly than the staff. Our interaction with the older white security Officer was great. Which is not common for security. He was helpful and smiling. Another plus I must mention. They always have three security guys there, which we like. The older one is friendly, and he is always all over the place. He is def observing everything going on. Overall if their service would improve, this place could be something.

New to Houston.The first time I came I ordered Creole chicken.The music was so loud the girl thought I ordered double fries.Even tho she argued back and forth about what she thought I said I enjoyed the Creole chicken to where I was hooked.I went the second week this time I ordered the Creole chicken ,rice , and mixed vegetables.Loved it enough for me to want to come back.So I then came back tonight to order the Creole chicken and rice and mixed vegetables but only this time I wanted shrimp added.The guy brought out rice a whole chicken and some salad.I told him I wanted Creole chicken cause I love the season and the red gravy,delish.the main reason I came.Not to drink , but for the Creole chicken ,rice,and mix vegetables.They changed the salad but still left this chicken.I said repeatly,this is not Creole chicken.He refuse to fox it once again after I spent $40 and gave him a $5 tip.I may not return because I definitely am forced to eat what I did not order and if I act up then It will only embarras me.Unsatisfied.Time for me to find somewhere else to unwind.The thrill is gone

So 1st let me begin with this was not my 1st time at this spot so I’m going to assume there under new management. However a friend and I came in to have a few drinks and we decided to get a double crown and Hennessy which where 19 each but our check was for over 45. You do the math. So after paying the check in cash I ask for the receipt n we see gratuity after tipping. So at this point I’m looking for the sign bars normally have that state when paying with card 15% or whatever they choose to charge but there is no sign so I wave down a guy n ask if he’s management and he’s like how can I help you. So I ask do they add gratuity to cash tabs and he states not until after 10 n I show him a receipt from before 10pm and then he try’s to tell me it’s only by 10mins. That is beside the point if u juss told me y’all rules, so that means your bartender is stealing frm ppl who r juss tryna have a weekly drink. Do not trust them, they have gone down hill in a the past 3yrs. I do not recommend.

We didn't even intend to visit this spot. We were next door at the supply store and I needed a restroom. This was the nearest place so we walked over. Once inside we seen how massive it was and that there were games at these large booths for groups. We decided to get a hookah and stick around for a minute and it was cool. BTW, the hookahs were only 13 dollars. I said... THIRTEEN DOLLARS!! Don't walk run before they go up on ya'll lol. I'm currently not drinking, but I would bet they pour stiff drinks at this spot too. I'll definitely go there too chill on any given day. Crowded or not. Update: started back drinking and returned and the drinks were NOT stiff. They're so weak you can drink about 5-6 before you feel a light buzz. It may depend on the bar tender that day, but we've had two student one's on returning and had the same experience.

Went for the first time last night & it was HORRIBLE. I am NEVERRRRRR going back there again. Bartenders are not attentive. And THAT was the first sign. We should've got up and left!!!!!! Smmfh. They were huddled up speaking amongst each other. It took this Hispanic dude 20 MINUTES speaking broken English to take our order then on top of that gave my friend the wrong drink. So I barely even write or bother dropping reviews. But this time i had to! Visited Skybox on a Friday with my 3 friends, it was my second time to visit; while first time for 3 of my friends. First upon arrival We met a tall black Security Officer with short dreads at the door, he greeted us and from his accent we could tell he's African or something (No offense). But he was extremely nice, had a nice smile and talked to us so politely and professionally, even welcomed us! This Armed Security Officer made us feel so safe. Then we got inside, met this other rude short black frowning and very AGGRESSIVE Security guy who checked our ID'S and bags, one of myvfriends tried asking him a question and he Ignored.. She asked again and he Still IGNORED.. Gosh...... Very rude!!! Rest rooms was not working, the waitress was nice. Enjoyed music and food. You guys please fix your restroom ASAP!

This was the worst experience ever. Security was highly rude once we arrived. We met the dress code but because we couldn’t hear over the music, he instantly got annoyed when we told him we couldn’t hear what he was saying. We sat at the bar for a while before a bartender came over—mind you we were 3 of the 4 people at the bar. The drinks were watered down—yes we saw them put like 2tablespoons of vodka in the mixed drink. SMH then they were visibly upset when I didn’t tip for the one drink I ordered. And my friend and I ordered the same ONE no tip, and we later found out I was charged $3 more than my friend We left because we were the staff was just rude. Has alot of large TV, perfect for watching a game. They have several pool tables but they are to close to the wall. Had several shots messed up by this. Saw the food but wasn't hungry. Looked good and the customer was digging in like it was good. Bar was understaffed and inefficient on a fight night. They only had 2 bartenders at a very large but they were trying. There are signs that say please don't smoke weed and I had to get a pat down to enter which makes me think about how many problems they must have had in the past. The more security a place needs to be functional usually turns me away rather than making me feel more secure. Also, drinks are over priced for very small cups, more like a club than a bar

I was here yesterday looking for management, since my card was over charged for $50 and when I say that the manager has no customer service.. she’s sarcastic and she does it with a grin on her face as if she’s totally comfortable with patronizing that she wants to completely dismiss the clients complaint. I mean I see why the waitresses here suck. The food here is mediocre. Pool table sticks suck. This place is definitely not what it use to be. This place was so much maturely oriented, looks like you have teenagers running around this place now. Bring back better management and better vibes because this place is not it.

OMG!!!!! This place my friend and I actually stumbled upon but it was the best decision ever. The atmosphere was so welcoming.... the food as A1.....the drinks we so good especially for a person like me who doesn’t drink hard drinks my bar tender ( which Jamaica who had amazing customer service) made what she thought we would like and it was so good!!! There margaritas taste like sorbet it was nothing like ive ever had before....and don’t even get me started on the music, they had such a good variety as well as hookah!?!?....like what more can you ask for... lol lets just say I’m for sure will be coming back there and whoever reads this must go as well!!!

Nestled in the corner of Wilcrest, there is a bar called Skybox. Despite unassuming exterior, the inside has much of the design of a modern club. The issue here is that it features the downsides of most modern clubs, i.e. poor service, an absurd amount of bottle sections, and to top it all off, music blasting so you cannot have much of a conversation. It was dead around 11 when me and my friend came in and the music was still very loud. Drinks are slightly cheaper than usual clubs so that is a bonus. If you enjoy the urban club scene, this is the place for you. Otherwise, I would highly suggest the other myriad of nightlife options Houston has to offer.

Went in at 4:30 , had great happy hour prices on alcohol. We ordered wings, which were Delicious . Our server-bartender sat at stool behind the bar looking at her phone the entire time. We had to get her attention every time we needed something (water, another drink, food) we tried getting the General Manager's attention and he acted like he didn't see us. THANK GOODNESS HE didn't come over cause he never had a mask on the entire time, as well as half of the staff. We got our tab and we had gratuity added on our tab(for 2 people) I asked the bartender why; she said because most of our customers are black and they generally don't tip.

The pricing for the pool $10 for a hour, the prices for the drinks was reasonably and the good all so. Now if you wanted a section they wanted you to pay$250 for a bottle note that's crazy n insane when you didn't pay

My fiancee and I went on a Saturday night, there was a UFC fight so there was a cover charge, no biggie. After sitting it took a while before anyone came over and it wasn't very busy at the time. The server wasn't attentive and when she did come by our table she was rude and didn't know anything about the menu. But the icing on the cake was the automatic 15% gratuity added to our tab even though the service was awful. Needless to say I will never be going back!

I was told when securing a pool table that the rate was $10 for the night. After playing for several hours and requesting our tab we were charged more than the previously mentioned $10. I asked our server about it and was told that she couldn't charge that low of an amount for the time that we played (about 3 hours). She would not give in. While the amount charged was not outrageous, I don't appreciate being misled. I will not be returning to this establishment. The tables and balls are filthy, the establishment is not well maintained.

Sat at a table for 10 mins. Saw a waitress serve a guy at the table next to me. I asked her if I could place an order, she said she wasn't the waitress for this area and she would send over the waitress. I guess he was getting special treatment. I sat for another 10 mins before I got up to go to the bar. There I find my waitress who said she had to drop off drinks and come to my table. She drops off the drinks at the table on my other side then walks away. I usually have such a good time when I come here.

Next time you want someone to return give them a experience that they can't forget. Do not imbed a memory that they never want to incounter again in life. Make sure you're employees are fresh and clean and smell pleasant with a A+ grade when it comes to coustomer service . Because some of them look and smell like they are homeless. (Trash) Bottles are over priced and watered down. Please make me out a lie for the sake of the business. Has so much potential but it takes the right crew to be successful.

Jojo is an amazing bartender but came here on a Friday and they had a "Silent" party which killed my vibe since no music playing since I didn't pay for the headphones but also no one offered them. Came back on a Saturday and the music was just okay. Would've liked more hip hop & r&b. A lot of people walked out throughout the night. Drinks was what really kept me here. It's a big venue and nice space just music was really off IMO.

The place atmosphere is great but the servers are bad They re lazy, you wait too long to even be attended to, you have to complain that you re not being attended to actually and sometimes they even forget your order especially if it s a smaller order they forget it completely. Happened to me more than once and on one occasion, twice in the same night. Management and door staff are great it s just the servers and they could also try to look a bit more elegant, decent and especially more welcoming

I could definitely see the appeal of a place like this, but it just felt really outta place. The outside of the "bar" screams sports bar atmosphere, but the inside looks like they thought they were on Washington Avenue or Main Street . I walk in and there's no less than 8 people behind the bar. It took me a minute to see all those bodies were for show; they were making one poor girl do all the work. The should be experienced, not explained . All in all, just not my cup of tea...

This is actually one of my favorite places to go daily for food especially TACO TUESDAY, The people who work here r very sweet and kind and hard workers also the cooks it's only 2 of them but they have great communication skills and they can cook any meal so good I also love the salads and the sliders but daily I will get the ceaser salad with 3 shrimp tacos, this place gets 5 stars. Terrible service. I spent $30 on pool table to just get service but nobody ever came by in 40 mins and they said it would take 5 business days for my money to go back on my card. I asked for staff member for service 2 times and was very polite and noone ever came. Manager was rude and I left feeling like I was at fault. The plan was to have dinner, hookah, drinks,play pool and ping pong. Don't come to this place! Very unprofessional!

The indoor space was large with an entire area of pool tables and other fun games. This makes it a great location for an interactive hangout with friends. There was an adequate dancefloor, and the DJ played some great hip hop tracks as well. We had the Hurricane cocktail, and the classic margarita which I thought were both well made, although I enjoyed the margarita better. The service was friendly and quick. No complaints.

Our server was amazing and the food, drinks, and hookah were very well priced. I was about to order more when I saw a ROACH crawling from the seat into my purse. The owner or Manager (idk which he was) only offered to switch tables. Sir, I don't have an appetite anymore. We of course were still charged the full price of everything plus a 15% gratuity that we could not remove. Goes without saying I'm not coming back here

First off, when i ordered a lemon drop shot, i received a lemon drop martini which was completely disgusting abd over priced (20.00 for 2) and they used some kind of well vodka. Did any of the bartending staff go to a training class or did they just walk in willing to work for whatever they could get their hands on? Its very dingy and there was onky one good pool table. Eliza, a waitress is very sweet! Look out for her.

Getting padded down as you enter an establishment sends a message, went inside and the whole place stopped what they were doing to stare me down, so i know the bar staff saw me, sat at the bar for a few without getting any attention and left.. security guard was nice though

It’s wrong to wanna get money for someone to come in the bar to spend money. I find that quite annoying to say the least. The drinks are always watered down & compulsory tips included in your bills irrespective of how horrible their service are. I think you earn a tip for doing a good job, maybe I’m wrong but why do the servers act like they’re not aware the tips were in your bill already?

Last night was a blast! I didntexpect it to be that busy on a Sunday night but the music was diverse and good all night long. My server Brianna was great. She checked on us regularly which isn’t normal in establishments like this. Had a great time with great service, will definitely be back next Sunday

Well from Indiana but born in raised in Chicago and have traveled enough throughout my life to say this place was horrible! Drinks took 30 minutes to get and the bar had maybe 30 people... pool tables were very old and I don't appreciate someone playing pool next to me with there ass on my table It felt like I was in high school again..I would never go there again!

Mixed review on this place. Last week...It was awesome. Bartender Sharon was great and made me a great drink and was polite. This week it was horrible. The bartenders were clumsy and slow. The drinks were weak and Sharon was not there. One bartender will ignore you if your female. And the crowd and music was 'meh.' I say get better bar staff ready to get tips.

The crawfish is good and you get sausage, corn and potatoes included in the price. The drinks are on point and they have a great happy hour Monday through Thursday. First time here and I enjoyed myself. The bartender was very attentive, I forgot her name. Will be back soon!

And the environment is verry good, management is verry good nd helping staff there. And the one verry most important thing is there that is the cleanliness. Took my friend for he's birthday..we had a blast..dont order no drinks from the back bar..them ladies do not know how to mixs drinks.. they need to go to Mixology School for bartending other than that everything was great but the back bar you no sir if you go strictly tothe front bar, good servers.

Great place to watch the game and there are plenty of pool tables. Gets lively towards the end of the week with live DJ and performance. Some pretty servers however service can be the worst at times, such as waiting over 20 min. for a drink or having to physically approach a server for service.

They started shooting and they directed us to the back where they hold their alcohol and it was completely locked and the door had metal bars smh but overall the place alright but we couldn’t hear the security because of how loud it was so enforcing with more securities will be a great idea!!

I checked my receipt and I was surprised because I was charged a tip I did not authorize. Tip was already added to the bill automatically and there was still space for tip making it double tip charge. Place may be good but people get put off when you try to get sneaky with your customers

Skybox was great !!! It was our first stop in Houston. Very chill and laid back. London had great service !

Skybox is the best pub in Houston, the customer service literally blew me away the employees and managers were awesome and handled everything perfectly, my drink and grilled shrimp were top notch!

I come here mainly because it's very spacious with a relax environment, it's predominately African's & the I don't know if they switch DJ's, but I HATE a DJ that wont even allow a song to play for a full 3 mins. before trying to mix it or switch it!!! Kills my whole vibe

My drink was overpriced and nasty. And it wasnt a fancy drink. Just a standard long island iced tea. Maybe I should go with shots next time. Music was radio basic. Atmosphere was cool. I would give it a second go, just because its near my home. Try it you might like it.

It's currently going through management changes so they are rolling out their best services

Place has potential but the waitress staff is always bad. I've tried to give it a chance multiple times but the customer service isn't good. The drinks are also too high. It does have a nice amount of amenities. Ping pong, pool, gaming. Just needs to fix the morality.

Good food for a bar , Bartender was busy but when she got to me she checked on us often and got the drinks quick so I liked that. Also they do have security on site in the parking lot which is better than nothing!

I didn't know that you could delete reviews. Yes, the drinks are overpriced and tips are added to your tab. New ownership is ripping y'all off so always check your tab and ask for the price of your drinks before ordering then carry a calculator with you and be sober.

Pool tables are 15 bucks all day which is great. We were overcharged $40 on drinks, the manager acknowledged it but was very rude when she had to fix the ticket, the waitress was also rude, never going back. The place was empty when we got there and now we know why.

The waitresses are sexist here! They only give "ok" service to men! Also every time I come here I get stuck with a waitress who don't know the menu!!!! Then they only play Hispanic music... Non offense but the dj need to have a better variety of music for all races.

The place is a nice chilled atmosphere for a Friday night. Music is good. Didn't try the food. 3 stars because we got a table and the waitress never came. Had to order our own drinks from the bar even one of the waitress ignored. The drinks were good. Still had fun

It's not really my scene. A friend asked me out and it started off great. After I had been there for an hour the DJ turned the music up way too loud. I couldn't hear my friend let alone my own thoughts. Ultimately we left and found something a bit more out tempo.

The music was on point... It got pretty packed closer to 11... I am kind of claustrophobic so it felt kind of tight after midnight. The food wasn't bad but when you drink you may just eat whatever. I think I had wings that night..no maybe it was tacos. …

Had to go ask for someone to come and service us, than she had a attitude didn't, cashed us out early and after didn't ask did we need anything kept skipping over our table like we weren't there and had the nerve to add a gratitude tip and it wasn't worth it

The place is pretty spacious a bit loud for me overall it’s nothing special I guess if you want to play pool and have a few drinks this is a good place for that . Service was okay , can’t say I tried the food nothing in the menu looked appetizing

The door man Micah (I think) was cool and cute. Nice layout, nice looking staff. Wings were overpriced and half decent. Oven wings aren’t the best but these were way too high & the drinks were overpriced as well (AMF, Heineken & shot of tequila)

Cool spot. Awesome DJ- "Girl Power"". I actually don't know her name but her ability to spend tracks is genius! She motivates you to get up and shake a tail feather or throw that thang in a circle. Drinks are reasonably priced and well mixed.

Well managed individually owned spot. On wednesdays the dancing is amazing and if you get any drinks at the bar from anyone it should be sherry if you want them to taste like a strong version of what you normally order. My new favorite spot.

This place is rough AF. I was greeted by two secruity wearing what looked to be full swat gear. Tactical plate carriers and all. This place is more like what id expect to see in an active warzone. This is Houston ... you have other options.

Drinks are too small for the price. They also include tip when no one else does in the area. I miss the old Skybox. So sad things have changed so much. I occasionally stop by because I have good memories and celebrated life events there.

Great Bar to hang out with family and friends. Also a good place to watch games while having drinks and eating some wings. If you get tired of watching any game, head to the pool table or ping pong table to challenge your friend's skill.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Got charged an 18% automatic and BOTH of my drinks were as nasty as nasty can get & be. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND

Why do you have to pay to get in a restaurant? 10$ for male and 5 for female wow. Lol The hookah was burnt and flavourless, like the food. the bartender ignores females. I had to ask my friend to order drinks for me. Won't be back

The manager was not friendly actually quite rude, as if somebody owes her something, overall food amazing.

I used to go here all the time in 2015. I moved away for a while and came back. Seems to be under different management 90% est. Of the pool sticks were broken. No more pitchers and lets just say a turnover of waitresses.

Music was on point drinks was on point crowd was on point. It was packed but the place is such a nice size you had your own space to still move around. Nice lil place to chill. I had fun I will definitely be returning!!

The food was good. The service really good. Ambiance was just ok. The music was boring... Probably a good enough place to just shoot some pool on a Saturday night.

I always get a hookah n drink n chill when I come , great music never really too crowded which I love. When my friends came down from Arkansas they loved it here.

Had a wonderful time with Apple. Her service was excellent ! She's very attentive and her energy is wonderful. . This is by far my greatest experience with Skybox. Great job Apple. I will definitely be back to visit!

Love it but they air didn't work on the night I went an somebody had passed away in they car in the parking lot. It was sad I couldn't really enjoy myself but this spot is laid back.

This isn't the place you would go to for a fun night out. If you have some other evening business to take care of, I guess you'd consider this place. FYI they automatically add gratuity to your bill. Be warned.

Terrible. $10 to get in. Bartender could not understand crown and 7 gave me crown apple $10 and tried to pocket it with no receipt until I asked for one. $20 in 10 min hell no. If it was a classy placemaybe

Went there for an impromptu school date night. The music was great. The atmosphere was good. Giving 4 stars because the service was very slow and it wasn't even pack. I will be back. May change the review.

1st time and it was cool. alot of space and screens to watch games & fights. drinks was reasonable with good service. Can see myself back over here in future. only backdrop is fights when its too packed

Place is really big a little bright for my taste but maybe it's because they have pool tables its a nice vibe wasn't too packed on a Saturday but I'd definitely check it out again

Big space. Plenty of tables inside and on the patio. Booth options inside as well. Small space for dancing. A generous number of pool tables and you have the perfect lounge for any night of the week.

I'm not a club person but I went for my friends birthday. It was okay. A very small amount of ppl were masks. They do not check your temperature at the door but check for ID. It's free to get in.
