Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was an Indian scientist and innovator widely regarded as the father of India's space programme. The nation honoured him awarding Padma Bhushan in 1966 and Padma Vibhushan in 1972. The statue must have been made under the supervision and guidence of Dr, Mallika Sarabhai, thus it looks very much live. When Vikrambhai shifted to this bunglow it was on the bank of sabarmati and there was a heritage building corner "the burj" of the sahneshah's. Unfornutaely the "burj" was distroyed to "develop" the modern riverfront.
