This stop and shop really need to remodel and rebrand. Just the whole store when you first enter looks really old. The other two chains on the island are much more modern and well kept. Furthermore, the manager's attitude towards customers are really not professional and that manager in this specific chain came at me super aggressively. I went to this store to buy several cases of water bottles and with that day I have several company vouchers from that water bottle brand with me that I have paid with. The cashier took those coupons and started to write the amount of each item on it until she thought that there was a limitation on these branded vouchers. At that point, there was already two employees at that station. Then they called the manager here and she was saying on how that this store only would let me one voucher per purchase, but the weird fact is that the other stop and shop stores would let me use several at a time. She also added a line saying " I'm not letting you out of this store with dollars of free items. Not everything is for free." This line that she said to me wasn't valid since those vouchers that I paid for fully towards the brand gives me the item at a discounted price. So at that point, all my vouchers were written but she only let me use one voucher per purchase so I asked for a compensation since written vouchers wouldn't be able to be used again. She answered me aggressively back " What do you want me to do about it?" At that point, I got a little frustrated from the tone of voice she is speaking to me and her last comment about the free items that weren't valid. I said " You made a mistake on writing on my vouchers that I'm not even going to use for this transaction. Now you should fix this problem." Her next move was really questionable, and it makes me question their professionalism. The manager said with fingers pointing at me " Don't you dare talk to me like that!" I was shocked. Wash she implying that I was disrespecting her because she thought that I was prejudice against her race? That wouldn't make sense because I was very cool with her and talked to her with reasons. She was the one going at me aggressively and made a wrong. Also, it's her job as a manager to fix problems not make a bigger problem out of everything. The fact that she used the race and victim card against me is totally ridiculous and unreasonable. I hope Stop and Shop would reconsider her position as a manager and inspect this specific shop because it's not it the best condition.

This is a posting based on my boyfriend’s recent experience today on Saturday, 11/12/2022, at approximately 3:58 pm. “I went back to this shop after 2 years since my last poor customer service experience with Denise, now hoping they have made some improvements, but no, I was dead wrong. When I went to the new cashier named Kelly, to return the large bottled water containers, she quickly gave me an attitude when she looked at my face, and then she pointed her finger at my face in an aggressive manner explaining that she don’t accept bottled containers when in fact, they have been accepting it in the past. But, instead of explaining to me that there is a machine that accepts it in the back, she refuses to acknowledge a machine exists and just outright ignores me and goes to other white customers behind me, she also took white customers who were in front of me. I feel like she was doing this to me because I was Asian, I wasn’t being prioritized as a customer and I had a bottle refund receipt to cash in and had to keep the customer from skipping me so I can challenge to the cashier by insisting that I can cash my recycled bottles. But the moment I pointed out to her not to point her finger in my face after she started being aggressive again, quickly, the cashier, Kelly and another lady in line both started lashing out by yelling and screaming at me in my face like a bunch of Karens just for pointing something out that made me uncomfortable when Kelly was in the wrong. I think the way they both were behaving towards me was really impolite and even to the extent that it was kind of mean… especially towards minorities, which hasn’t changed at all since the last time I visited this grocery store trying to give it a second chance to see any improvements, especially this one in Eltingville. I have addressed this concern to the manager quite a few times in the past, but I learned that narrow-mindedly rude, and racist employees here generally don’t change, since this is my second review visit, and I’ve had it. So, I highly advise everyone to not go to this store unless you want to be mistreated like a second-class citizen.”

Store is great, got everything I need. HOWEVER, every single time I go to the self checkout the older woman with white hair that is always working there has had something to say not only to me but I've seen her do it to other people to. I am a grown man I will not except being YELLED at by a woman I do not know because she had to "come all the way over here again" to swipe her card cause I scan things too quickly. Or how about when I tried to put my items that were paid for already back into a basket to take them to my car (now, I understand why that would be an issue cause people may steal the basket. Suregot it) what is not acceptable is to come over and before even saying anything start take my items THAT I PAID FOR ALREADY(which would make them mine) and taking them out of the basket and throwing them on the counter THEN telling me I can't take the basket. First of all, that is no longer the stores food, it is mine, do not touch it. Second, learn how to speak to another adult properly, I am not your grandson you can yell at for not doing what you want i am a paying customer trying to get groceries to his car. Forgive me for not having read the "stop&shop users guidebook to success". Lastly, please do not make a Spectacle out of the situation unnecessary. Tell me "sir, I'm sorry but the stores policy is that customers can't bring the basket outside of the store"and I will say "oh okay no problem sorry about that." I have very bad social anxiety and don't like being the center of attention and now there's a bunch of people staring at me like I am an idiot. Thank you for that. I am SURE that your store has training you have to go through in order to work there, maybe she needs some more training in customer service or maybe she just doesn't like me for some reason and can't control herself so she always has something to say I am not sure what the issue is but I am sure that someone treating people the way that she does is not how you get people to keep coming back. She is enough to make me go to a different store.

This place is trash! My boyfriend currently works here and I know everything about everything at this store. This is more personal about management than it is about the actual store. It’s flu season and unfortunately our children have come in contact multiple times with it since there are 4 of them so of course like any good man would do he has had to take some personal days to help get us to the hospital, doctors, ect. Mitchell (the manager of the store) had the audacity to call him in and write him up and compare her problems and her amount of children to ours. This is completely unprofessional! He had proof of every countless day and night we spent in and out of ER, clinics, you name it. I find it astonishing that she called him in for that but didn’t call him in for months after being promised a promotion. This place needs new management. He is one of the best workers in that store and has sacrificed time from college and from his family to do what so called managers are supposed to do. Workers are getting written up for not staying past their scheduled time, I mean ridiculous! They have bigger problems to fix like the stores appearance, customer service from the front end, and so much more. Thank you

Wow, there are some very strange reviews about this store. It's really not all that bad! I have never seen the place messy, unkempt or dirty. It's usually in pretty decent shape. They usually have all the things I shop here for (mostly things I cannot get at the specialty stores like paper towels and toilet paper) They have a pretty decent selection of fruits and veggies, much better than the nearby Top Tomato. Although, strangely, they had no cabbage the week of St. Patrick's Day about two years ago. I stop here on my way to work to pick up something for my lunch. But seriously, it's a small grocery store, what do you people really expect??? They don't have the significant storage and exposure as the bigger Stop & Shops. Also - they are grocery store ladies, not fifth avenue negotiators , try to find something nice to say jeez. After Sandy, they kept their doors open and did the best they could to keep people supplied with food. I was the only one buying split peas, flour and yeast to keep my family fed. Everyone else was upset that they didn't have ready to eat meals- duh. It's not a bad store - I am happy for the convenience, otherwise I'd have to brave the Hylan Boulevard store. eeesh.

I was disrespected and disgusted by one of the cashier's behaviors today. I was criticized for simply asking a question. Today on Sunday, December 13th, 2020 at approximately 11:15 AM, a staff member named Denise was very rude and condescending to me by the customer service counter. I asked her a simple question about my bonus savings deal. She gave me an attitude of annoyance and questioned me, ''WHAT SCHOOL DO YOU GO TO? DO YOU NOT KNOW MATH?'' I felt offended and responded, "Excuse me?" She retorted back once again, "YOU GO TO SCHOOL AND YOU DON'T KNOW MATH?" I was utterly appalled and speechless by her remarks. I felt very offended and degraded, and did not get my question answered at all. I was disrespected and humiliated in front of all the other customers waiting in line behind me and other staffs watching me and not doing anything about her behavior. I had to confront her unprofessionalism in front of everyone to let her know her negative attitude was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. It was none of her business whether I am in school or not. That was just very petty the way she handled customer service. Not coming back here again.

Clean ,Beautiful store and prices for the most part are competitive with the other supermarkets in the area. The Deli dept is clean and the meats and cheeses are fresh. The bakery is for the most part great for cakes and pies but watch their breads. I have noticed they sell the same breads that they make for more than one day. Customers want fresh bread not day old bread. Make less each day so it sells out. I would rather come in and find it sold out than find hard stale bread. The second thing is the produce section, been in the business 40 years and I DONT know who is ordering the produce or who is roating the shelves but both need to polish up their act. From one day to the next brand labels change but still isn't fresh ?? That's the produce buyer not paying attention and shame on the produce man for stocking the shelves with it instead of telling his buyer or Manager. Produce dept needs a better eye. A lot of people I know that shop there say the same. Their produce dept is not up to par. Other than that Love the store.

  • Sam Nastasasam

Was not too bad. The deli wouldn't give me a sample so I just didn't order anything. Staff was rude in the deli. Asked for sample got a one word answer "no" . Was slightly offender asked why and got 3 word lie "we never have". I replied with thanks and started to walk away at which time I recieved the most help I guess he was capable of he asked if I needed something else. I even reported this to the manager who was much more professional. Explained coronavirus so they could not give any sample but nothing was addressed about the quality of the staff. I shopped here for 20 years or so never had an experience like that Honestly store is organized backwards. No real complaint about the store or the products . Was clean and could make up and down aisles. Unfortunately the only issue is the lack of staff or more accurate the lack of training. I don't think I will be returning here for some time though if at all. Shoprite is cheaper, larger selection and I have never been offended or refused service.

The store is very dirty all the time. The floors are black which they really shouldn’t be. The produce is rotting on the shelves. Every shopping cart is about 20 years old and is Rusty, dirty and you can’t push it correctly. The store was made incorrectly and the isles are so tiny. Barely one cart can fit down the aisle. It’s like a game of mouse trap with hundreds of people inside. When you’re paying for your items every cashier looks at you so you have to pack your bags because you’ll be there next year. And when they do help you pack your bags, they shove meats with inappropriate items that Shouldn’t go with raw meats. Or are they packed cold items with paper goods which I never understand. And why do they packed 15 items in there cheap flimsy bag? Is it that important to save money so that the bags literally break when you bring them to the car. You shouldn’t put 12 items in one bag ever it’s annoying and rude. For the amount of money the store makes it’s really needs a lot of work.

My father was hired as a porter at stop and shop Staten island NY on Amboy road. They let him go after three days but we're rude and dismissive to him within that time frame. He did nothing wrong . He never got trained or even given a schedule. They called him and told him different times to come in and then yelled at him for coming at the new time. He asked questions about things he should do and the manager ignored him and walked away. I'm assuming it's because he is 79 and she didn't want to bother with him. My father worked at his last job for 50 years for 7 days a week never had any problems. Stop and shop is a disgrace. You hire a person and let him go for no reason. He might be 79 but the hardest working man out there . Horrible company treating him like he is old and worthless. Was it because he an accent. Either way three days doesn't justify letting him go. He came on time and never complained, was eager to learn.

  • Sam ouch

Found this store very disappointing. Deli refused to give sample and was rude as well as a comedian "can I get you something else". I mean is one thing to tell someone no which by the way is not the way to answer a request for a sample if you expect someone to purchase from your department. But honestly was much worse when he knew that I was going to the manager to notify them "can I get you something else". Manager was much more courteous explained that coronavirus corporate protocol doesn't allow them to give samples. He apologized and swore to the frsshness of ever product In the deli , which alone is scary as I have worked in these places. Promised a return, which with perishables is not only inconvenient but they won't take it back by the next week as I also have to work. Nothing was addressed at the deli about the rudeness. Left with half my stuff to be honest. Probably should of just left everything.

This place could be so much better. Nice location, easily accessible via public transportation . However the store is not well organized and very messy. Accessibility for handicapped and elderly is practically non existent. Customer courtesy also seems to be a major problem. When I was last there one of the cashiers had the audacity to throw something down on the register to weigh it while I was in the middle of ringing stuff up. Then she had the further audacity to say she was courteous because she told me she was going to way it. Seriously this is why the Walgreens next door moved out leaving the Rite no one wants to go to in to, but is forced to. Don't believe me? Look up. The reviews. Customer service here seems to be at a huge deficit Someone mentioned a Wegmans and I think that would be great. My only concern is if they could find the people who know how to relate to staff the store

  • ai922

I don't like to leave bad reviews. If I had a negative experience someplace- usually I just won't go back again. However, tonight my husband & I found that this Stop & Shop carried Icelandic water that my husband likes so we went in. We grabbed a few things (their strawberries were perfect & their produce dept was so fresh & clean) when we got to checkout, there were a few others waiting in random areas so no one really knew where to stand or wait as there was no sign or direction. When all of the sudden, an associate named Tanya comes out of no where and while in the middle of the front end starts screaming at us all that there was "one line" and that she "doesn't know what you people are doing!!" And threw a complete fit like a child. This was the most humiliating experience I've been apart of while shopping for anything. .............I'll find the water someplace else.

  • samantha baker

I just checked out the reviews before shopping there and saw that the store responded to almost all of the negative shopping experience comments with an apology. Then as a scrolled I found one about a black couple that felt mistreated and were made to feel uncomfortable by the staff. It's really appalling that this complaint was not even acknowledged by the store. It's pretty much an admission of what can be expected if you're a POC. It's good to know and I'll definitely be sure to forward this information to the better business bureau. I mean among all of the other complaints about selling expired items, cashiers being rude asking people "if they went to school and can do math" while inquiring about bonus points on their card, and terrible shopping experiences in general etc- I can't imagine this particular store will last much longer

  • Denys Dukhovnov

It is one of my favorite grocery and produce spots to make a quick dash to, when I am running low on particular food or supplies that I need immediately. I like the breadth of selection of products available in the store, particularly the variety of shelf-stable baking ingredients and their extensive deli section. I love the fact that the store is open until midnight, so there is never a time when I felt like I have to wait until morning and postpone my plans because of it. So, a big plus for convenience. However, I find that pricing could be better. Many shelf-stable national products are priced higher than average, and prices for some brands certainly bite a bit. It doesn't help that store deals are often sparse and are not for product types I normally buy. The store-brand items, are nevertheless of good quality and more affordable.

  • hart farms

This has to be the absolute worst Supermarket I have shopped in. The customer service is atrocious. It's dirty, it's dingy, the shelves are never stocked and the ones that are you cannot get to because the people stocking shelves are always in your way and refused to move. Apparently the customer is invisible at this store. OH and one of the deli workers once cursed out a CUSTOMER and was not reprimanded in any way. When walking into this Stop and Shop I feel like I'm walking into the ghetto which is sad because the neighborhood is beautiful. Avoid at all costs. I actually live within walking distance and will now drive to the brand new beautiful shop right over by the Outerbridge to avoid this hell hole. I hope it goes out of business and another chain buys it so they can see what they did wrong which is everything.

  • Ariana Guardia Hernandez

I'm giving the place 1 star because the 0 star option doesn't exist. There was an error in the system so the manager told us to wait on the longest line. Being in a rush, my family decided to go to the express line for help. Susan, the women in the express line, had a very nasty attitude. She yelled at us that she can't do anything about the prices, said we were holding up the line when there wasnt one, and treated us like we were stupid. Then the manager gave us a nasty attitude as well. I usually never do Google reviews but I tried to file a complaint and couldn't find anywhere to report this on the website. However, the customer service was actually helpful and scanned our 10 items quickly.

  • Meranda Parascandola (Dapron)

store looks nice and all but the both times i have been here since it opened all i hear is employees complaining. "this person works only these hours and they put me on these hours. then on the opposite side of the store "i never work Sundays now i have to work Sundays this sucks." and while one employee was stocking and end cap the other was just leaning on the cart complaining. it is my understanding that when Stop and shop took over they gave the old employees their jobs. stop and shop did not have to do this. so the employees should be grateful or talk to their mangers about the issues they have not openly complain where new customers are in ears hearing.

  • John Zenger

Always quick and easy. The store is being renovated, thats a good thing. The only drawback is the aggressive panhandling. Its gotten to the point that I prefer to leave the area. Even when you are parked in your auto, you get banging on the windows for money. Leaving the stores or the bank on the strip is always confrontational. I don't blame the storekeepers. I blame the patrons that continue to fork over cash every time they are strong armed by these thugs and junkies. In the past police make a difference but with the new lawless, third world nation we've become, they are powerless to curb these crimes. Stay safe and continue working on your martial arts.

  • Alexandria Russell

VERY RACIST STORE. Came here today with my mother. We’re both black and of course the racist customers can’t be controlled but every employee we came across treated us like we didn’t belong in there and acted like our presence was bothering them when we were just keeping to ourselves. When we got to self-checkout, we needed help with something and the manager stood around us like he was trying to make sure we weren’t stealing but wouldn’t help us even though we asked several times. Maybe it’s their intentions to keep people of color out and it definitely worked for us. We will not be back. Nobody should feel like they don’t belong in a grocery store.

  • Michael Ciccone

Associates need retraining on professional customer relations! I went to customer service desk today. No one was behind customer service desk. Than a Young lady shows up Young lady looked like I was bothering her. No friendly greeting nor courteous tone of voice Previous complaint: Misleading advertisement of bread discount ! There is no "Buy one, get second for $3.99"....for OMC MULTI GRAIN 24 bread. Tonite I bought 2 loaves misled by the discount tag by the OMC MULTI GRAIN 24 bread shelf. I JUST GOT .90 discount from each loaf at the self check out! What's the deal with this ??? I didn't get 2 loaves of OMC MULTI GRAIN bread for $3.99 !

I have been shopping in this store since I moved to Staten Island three years ago. Since then I’ve seen the shop getting better and better. The organic produce, including fruit and vegetables section has expanded and I can always find great value for money for items like cleaning products. The staff is always polite, helpful and patient, especially when using self service. I’ve also used their Western Union service, which was great. During the Covid-19 I feel safe visiting the shop, as everyone is wearing masks, and the shop is following recommendations like maximum number of people etc.

  • Popeyeyank Bluetooth

This store STINKS!! The customer service people are NASTY!! The front end managers are angry (fat women in glasses=NASTY) !! The produce dept is filthy dirty!!! Deli closes an early every night!! One register open at night with 15 people standing @ checkout!!! The wagons don't work!!! They never have baskets!! Have to enter through the exit doors every night after 9:00 pm. I really don't mind this but it must be hard on an older person trying to open a door that not supposed to be pulled. I will never shop here again but I will try to get the people responsible for this mess fired!!

  • Victor Brooks

If you want to deal with nasty, miserable people, than this is your store. I won’t even goto the cashiers just so I can avoid dealing with the staff. Minus 1 or 2 people, the rest of the staff make it seem like you are bothering them, especially the self checkout and customer service workers. They won’t even make eye contact with you, and they never acknowledge you and when you say thank you! They will have conversations with each other while you wait for them to help you. I hate going to this store. They all need lessons on how to treat people. If you hate your job, than quit

  • David G

I just moved to Staten Island and went shopping here for the first time. Unfortunately, I bought blackberries that I discovered were moldy the next morning. Stop 'n Shop has a double money back guarantee on produce that isn't fresh. However, when I went to customer service, the representative denied they had such a guarantee and I had to point out the very large sign in the produce section before she reluctantly provided a full refund. She examined the blackberries four or five times, as if she believed I was trying to scam her. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

  • Mike T

I am a local guide with trusted reviews. Now please pay attention. Do not buy anything from the bakery they unpackage donuts from the previous days repackage them and put stickers on them as if they were packaged the day they were baked same thing goes for the seafood do not buy any of the packaged seafood it is old and unsafe to eat and third whenever there’s a sale they run out of the sale items within the first two days of the sale and then you can never find those sale items so please make sure you get your rain checks. Stop and shop your days are numbered.

  • y j

This is by far the worst Stop and Shop on the Island. Crowded & always out of a lot of things. They also don't carry a lot of things the other stores do especially in the frozen section. Deli is small & always crowded. At busy times parking is bad & so are the exit/entrance ramps to & from Amboy Road for car traffic. If you can go to the other 2 Stop and Shops on Richmond Ave or go to the 1 on Hylyan Blvd & skip a trip to this slime hole then do it. It sucks all around. Managers have more chips on their shoulders then a pack of Chiips Ahoy as well.

  • Annemarie Rosario

Prices are high and store does not honor it own sales. I've been three times and all three times after entering my savings card none of prices offered for having the card were charged. Just recently coffee creamer was advertised at 2 for $6 and when I scanned my card and completed my purchase both were charged at $4.19. Last shopping trip my total was more than $100 more than I calculated. After coming home and checking receipt none of the items on sale were given to me at dale price... NONE. Very disappointed. 3 strikes and you're out.

  • Donna Lee

The Stop & Shop on Amboy Rd in Staten Island is totally mismanaged. Horrible. The line to get in went from the entry of Stop and shop to almost the end of the stip of stores. Hundreds and hundreds of feet. Awful. However, the Stop& Shop in New Dorp and the Shop Rite in New Dorp you could walk right in. A little crowded, but that was to be expected due to the snow storm that was coming. I really think Stop& Shop should consider new management for the Eltingville store. Whenever I'm there it's always a hassle. Not a good experience.

  • Melo Dee

I was there for dog food and some gluten free and dairy free items. Their allergen section was scattered and tough to maneuver around, while there I encountered a completely green molded Schar baguette and at $7.99 a pop I'd imagine you'd want fresh. Now on to the dog food my pup got sick from the ones I bought at this location. I contacted the company and they replaced it but said there were no issues with the lot so I imagine it's a storage issue. The cashier was super friendly and wonderful.

  • Susan Gaeta

I only go here in a pinch I shop at Lidl because the prices are lower with better merchandise, and the staff are very customer friendly. Stop and Shop is overpriced, not entirely clean and the checkout staff, aside from three men, are extremely rude and unprofessional. They don't greet the customers, seem depressed and unhelpful while the manager just stands there and watches or hangs outside the store with the smokers. You have a lot to learn S&S but you're so arrogant so nothing changes.

  • Kathleen S.

Whole milk and sale items need to be restocked more frequently. It is a small store with a lot of shoppers so they should really have someone to check that items are in stock. It's a recurring problem and I've often been told "the truck is coming tomorrow." I will say the produce is fresh and they have good sales sometimes. The other stop & shops are much bigger and nicer and have whole milk when I shop there. I wish they would remodel. Edit: in the store again today and no whole milk.

  • Matthew Leavy (Matt)

Nice selection of almond and soy milks. Nice produce section. Well run deli counter. This store/chain can be somewhat pricey when items aren't on sale. Overall, a well run supermarket with a helpful staff. Recently changed their hours, started closing at 10PM (9PM on Sundays). Also, they redid the shelves and arrangements in the store. New layout to learn. The app lets you set your store and then look-up a product and the aisle on which to find it is in the product details. Well done!

  • Brian Smith

out of all th stop and shops on the island this one needs the most work. the place has a i dont care feel. not the cleanest. the layout was not right. as a 1st time shopper in this store. i found it confusingly laid out. its a small store maybe thats why its layout that way. the meat was messy. not all in one place. had a small selection of drinks. very little diet drinks. if you need to shop there in a pinch its fine. there are better places to shop on the island

  • Elizabeth Lisa

During this entire pandemic, customers were asked to line up in one aisle and were directed by an employee to the next available register. This process works so well it keeps the front of the store open and everyone pretty much apart. Today they went back to the old way and it was back to a congested mess. Please revert back to the “pandemic line”, it is much more organized. By the way, many of the other shoppers were expressing the same thing.

  • SAVETHEKIDS23

Avoid this stop and shop...... The people that work at night are junkies their rude nasty and harass the customers......... They have no class and are friends so if you have a problem with any employee they don't help you........ The employees are a gang of bullies ones uglier than the next........ It's crazy they are always crowded but treat customers like dirt....... I wish they would open a whole foods market instead of this filthy place....

  • Michael Zirngibl

This Shop & Shop is smaller than the other Shop & Shops on Staten Island. The parking lot is almost always full and the parking spaces are narrow. So narrow that a shopping cart is very difficult to get through. The store is not as well lit nor is it as clean as the surrounding Shop & Stops. Alot of customers shop this store and its size cannot handle the quantity of shoppers which makes for long check out lines and congestion in the aisles.

  • anna kesler

The food is often rotten to the point where I picked up avocado and my hand and went right through it. Organic food is never as fresh as other locations.. Organic potatoes stay on shelves long enough for them to start growing roots. Cut up vegetables such as doodles were slimy and not fresh.Salad greens are also often not fresh. The entire facility doesn’t feel clean. Will not be coming back as this is far for the first time.

  • Jim Coffey (SecretStatenIsland)

Meh. Store is old, dirty and dark. The staff is your "typical" Staten Island don't give a crap about anything type. Always have the DVD bootleggers or panhandlers accosting you on your way in or out. I always have to be on guard and check the freshness dates - especially the prepackaged meats; they are continually past their "sell by" dates. The one by the Mall is by far superior to this location.

  • Frank Chopper

Terrible management. There are 8 Self checkout counters but not one lane for express 10 items or less. So you have people with 2 or 3 items waiting on ridiculously long line for people with full carts (up to 40 items) to self checkout! Does that make any sense at all?? No reason why they shouldn't have an express (under 10 items) checkout lane!! Just shows they don't care about their customers!

Place is stuck in the 1980s I felt like I took a time machine, for God's sake spend a Little money on your establishment to show some customer appreciation.they have a small selection versus other stop and shops on the island and the aisles are like my hallway at my house took narrow especially to accommodate the large amount of people on the island. Get with the times people.

  • Patrick Romero

They carry a respectable variety of goods from a variety of categories. Their fresh produce is of high quality, and their deli section is efficiently managed. When there is neither a discount nor a sale being offered on the things, the store may give the impression of being somewhat expensive. An excellent grocery store with friendly and knowledgeable employees.

  • Frank Civitello

Today there was a problem with the STOP & SHOP customer card and we could not receive the advertised discounts. For example as you enter the store ENGLISH MUFFINS were a buy 1 get 2 free sale but I paid 4.49 x 3. The store could easily have posted that the system was down in the same area and I could have come back another time as I have to do so now........

  • Joseph Henry Huppert

Expired dates on food, prepared foods don’t look appealing, deli counter is a turn off. Bathroom is disgusting. Aisles aren’t kept clean. I respectfully suggest that upper management visits the Stop & Shop on Route 18 , in East Brunswick, NJ , to learn what a supermarket, should look like. Staten Island desperately needs a Wegmans or Fairway. DISGRACEFUL!!!

  • Stephen Krauska

Staff here is not as bad as other people suggest. Their complaints about workers complaining is a little egocentric. However this stop n shop is smaller and does have disappointing selection. I can never find distilled water here or some of the Nature's Promise brand cookies. Random items yes, but still, hard to believe they aren't here.

  • John Sassano

I like I work different brand stores 15 yrs I worked outside do a shopping carts some customers parking front stores so I cant go threw to them because they on cellphones they parking in fire zone ........they supposed to not park there.. its not fare to the workers........also that I can't allowed wear shorts when it too hot ........

  • Ric G.

THEY WERE DOING WORK. INSIDE THE STORE!!!!!AND THEY HAD ANOTHER COMPANY THAT THEY SUB-CONTRACT WITH TO DO THERE INVENTORY. FOR THE STORE...I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN BECAUSE I AM A SERIOUS ABOUT THE FACT THAT PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE WERE PACKING OUT ONTO NEW METAL SHELVES... .WERE NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING ME IN ANY WAY

  • Yash Pall Suleria

The Stop& Shop Supermarket is a very good and amazing place to shop for Fresh vegetables, Fruits,Grocery ,meat ,cheese and frozen food.I went to Amboy Road store and found good arrangements for sanitizing carts. They have digital coupons and on weekly ads ,you can find better price. The store is neat and clean.

  • Charles Moser

I live very near to this stop & shop and always chose not to shop there because.its not clean. I've shopped there three times for quick needs and all of them were expired or bad in some way. Yes I could have checked the dates, but such a small sample size,... they should probably be checking their shelves.

  • robert nelson

Shopping here for many years. Never any problems. Employees very friendly & very polite especially to senior citizens like me. That’s a rarity today. Fresh foods, and everyone there is doing their best to help our needs through these troubled times now. Thx guys. We all appreciate. Bobby Lotto.

  • Sea Flower

Very friendly cashier,I love when staff are friendly! She was fast and courteous , and she'd made a nice shopping day complete with satisfaction. Great deals too, and the store was clean as usual, with lots of staff that are willing to help. Wishing everybody at Stop & Shop a great New Year!

  • Kate B

It's unfortunate, cause this store is close to home, but it's the worst stop & shop I've ever been to. Most of the time they don't have half of what I need. I found expired food in the shelves SO many times. Coupled with sales signs that are outdated and a mess...it's just a bad store

  • peter j, iacovello

Honestly if your in need of whole milk don’t bother wasting your time to go here. I live around block and finally am giving up after years of noticing every time I go . There’s never whole milk ever. It’s 9 am on a Tuesday . No milk . Thanks stop and shop for the wasted effort .

  • Jerry Mouse

This store doesn't have as much gluten free stuff as the one on Hylan Blvd, but it does have the scanner thingy that you can scan your items as you shop, which keeps a running total of how much you're spending. This keeps you from overspending and makes check out much quicker!

  • Marilou Abruscato

Very spacious store. Was able to find everything we needed easily as the store layout is easily seen and accessible. It is not a very crowded store at some days and tomes which makes walking and maneuvering the aisles much easier and quiter. Self checkout was quick and easy.

  • Ed Ortiz

The blonde at the front end with the glasses is a magnificent employee, shes always looking to help a customer, give insight on sales and such, very kind and hard worker , ive been in this store maybe 5 or 6 times but every time I go she's always on her game with a smile.

  • Stepan Doukhnych

Such a nasty store manager in this location. No customer service skills what’s so ever. She turned a small problem into the major issue running her mouth from across the entire store without even trying to come to the register where I had a problem to figure it out.

  • Shay Zahrieh

Very bad experience. The Ramon noodle hair looking woman at the self checkout on August 25, 3019 at 10:00 p.m. was extremely rude and didn’t help at all. I will never shop at stop and shop again because of her rudeness and I’m pregnant at that. Smh. Never again.

  • Mohamed Sorogy

No one can deny that Stop and Shop is the best FMCG reward retail system in Staten Island. From my retail market experience with other competitors and customer surveys, the only messing thing inside is Halal food, hopefully, it will be considered by Management

  • Gregory Moschello

Stop and shop seems to be closer to back to normal as opposed to a year ago . But a lot of place we shop still aren't . I'm sure stop and shop still may have ways to go but so has a lot of stores during these times . At least the shopping hours are restored .

  • Frank Castellano

Good variety of foods and usually have well stocked shelves. It can get very crowded at times and check out can take a while, even at the self service check out. Because there's a shared parking lot, finding a spot can be challenging if not impossible.

  • Barbara Lynn Whalen

Cashier had horrible attitude, I said hi how are you- no response I said thank you have a good day I got nothing Besides for the bad attitude nectarines on sale they only had 2 and it was the 1st day of sale! I will not go back to this location ever!

  • Doreen Bruno

The deli department always cuts more product then you ask for a 1/4 of a pound becomes 3/4 of a pound and they try to give you store brand instead of Boars Head brand they put Boars Head label and price on the package and give you store brand.

  • Lau Botz

Shopping in this store is like playing Tetris there is no room for people to move and it seems all the shoppers are in their own worlds knocking to you and pay no attention if you're claustrophobic don't come here. The store is a zoo.

  • michele palermo

Been coming here for years. It is pretty good set up I think anyways. If you follow the signs then you will be good . They do have some exotic options which I love and they have an ethnic section which I like to tour as well

  • LJ Altuna

Store is cramped. Hard to get through the aisles when it's not busy. Parking lot is horrible. Store should consider relocating to the recently closed Super Fresh just down the road. No complaints about the food offered.

  • Gabrielle Montana

This store is very dirty and always a mess! The shopping carts are filthy and produce is awful. People that work there are pleasant - maybe they should hire more people to maintain the store - and clean it. …

  • Sammy Fernandez

I go here because they always have sales and I think that it's a lot better than super fresh, super fresh is closer than Stop and Shop for me but I think it's worth it to drive the extra 5 minutes.

  • LiL GiGgLeZ xO

I only go here because my mother in law lives close and she loves it. I don't think the deals are good and the stores not in the best condition. I only shop at shop rite, way better deals.

  • Mike Hennessy

TERRIBLE! I mean terrible produce department . They NEVER have broccoli rabe!! Never have asparagus! Never have organic bananas… they should do something about those flimsy bags too !

  • Dorothy Mcleod

I enjoy shopping at Stop And Shop each time I go shopping there. Their Pharmacy is the best and treat you with upmost respect. The cashiers are all very respectful to all customers.

  • Craig Capizzi

The best supermarket in the area by far. This location also has scanners which make self checkout a breeze - although I wish they would support mobile phone app checkout already.

  • F. T. G.

wouldn't it make sense to make the self-checkout 12 items or less. and the cashier ring up larger baskets, this way people don't have to call for assistant at the self check out

  • Jerome Espinosa Baladad

I have a good friend who lives in the border of Great Kills, and this is where he would shop. I have been with him many times in quick shopping visits here. Well stocked. Clean.

  • Preston J

This store has been my go2 for years now and they sell good stuff. The stuff price is fair and this stop&shop has always been in my neighborhood for a long time. Like it.

  • David Pramaggiore

If you have to get groceries and can’t find another spot it will make do. It’s got most of what you need but nothing special. The meats and fish are especially lacking.

  • Rick ess

Higher prices than other options except when there is a sale. Apparently the think hot dogs got smaller because it seems like the Stop and Shop rolls shrunk in length

  • Emily

Waited for self checkout 20 minutes for a bulb of garlic. Only four cashiers on a Sunday afternoon. The associate directing customers was curt and unprofessional.

  • Toni Alicea

Overall Stop & shop is a pretty good store It's nice that you can get a piece of fresh fruit for your children free prices are ok but I like Shop Rite better

  • Lorraine Gualtieri

Free item offered this week not In Stock and no raincheck. This is not first time this has happened. Why offer it if they won't have it in the store at all

  • Elizabeth Wagner

Easy ,quick in and out like the neighborhood grocery store ,a little small compared to one on Richmond ave but close to home ,and al wa ays friendly faces

  • Kenneth R

I can confirm much to my surprise they do in fact have food it is a market and it is super. Furthermore they had beverages it was an exciting experience

  • Sal Marciano

Pretty good supermarket. Much better than when it was Waldbaums. Bakery section is pretty good. Prices are fair and cashiers keep the lines moving.

  • Lena Lipavsky

My local store is always the best. The best prices! You can buy everything here and pay better prices compared with another stores. Love my store!

  • FSANEIL LAZER

Great store, neat and quality food. Don't forget to use store card. Otherwise you're overpaying for things. If you don't have a card, ask cashier.

  • Meghan Dones

Not my favorite Stop & Shop but it still has everything I need at a fair price. Clean and usually fully stocked. The staff is friendly enough.

  • Ray Casamento

Nice store lots of fresh fruit , vegetables baked goods , meat and fish ,deli all fresh food. Big frozen food section & selections.

  • anthony speranza

Good store to run in when you forget something. Other than that prices are too high. They don't have a great selection. Small store

  • Maura B

It's ok. Kind of cramped but well stocked. It was my first time there and I couldn't find the entrance. A sign would be helpful.

  • Andrey Lipavsky (Andrey Lipavsky)

Customer service is everything, and these folks are excellent! The food offerings are also fantastic. Always a great experience.

  • Fran Dietrich

The convenience of where it is located and I save a lot of money there and I love the products and the atmosphere is very nice

  • E M

Horrible attitude and plain mean cashier. This Stop n Shop is not very good. But, my former S n S on Hylan In New Dorp, great.

  • mia gonzalez

They said they closed at 10, and they literally closed at 9. I wasted my time coming here, they should update their times.

  • Bobby DBob

They carry some organic produce that is spread around, not centralized. Other than that, they are pretty good. 4.5 stars!

  • Richard

Nice selection in products. Prices vary, coupons and store card highly recommended. Enter door sticks when walking in.

  • Victoria Fasulo

I like it much better now that it is renovated. It is much roomier, and seems to have more selection now then before.

  • Chersh Nyc

This Stop & Shop on Amboy Rd. never stocks the merchandise they advertise. The woman in the meat department so rude!!

  • Shawn Dwyer

Hard working staff helping large crowds with their holiday shopping. Employees are always looking to help customers.

  • Anthony Fernandes

Shop rite has a better selection but S&S still OK. At least they have whole wheat Italian bread and some good sales

  • ShashaG

I got to the stop and shop in Richmond Ave once a week, their shelves are always stocked and they have what I need!
