5 stars is a stretch. Completed check in online, however had to do it again when I arrived, and no information provided regarding services such as meals, carparking, pool, gym, etc. The set up of the apartments would be great for a work trip, with kitchenette, dishwasher, washing machine, a couch and space to work, but it's not a luxury set up. There is a balcony, but it's bare with dusty tiles. Kitchenette has odd numbers of mismatched cutlery. Again, fine in a basic serviced apartment, but jarring when labelled as part of a 5 star service. Mildew and damage to bathroom sink, musty smell to the room made worse by the AC (although being able to open the balcony door meant I could air it out) and the shower/bath tap is faulty. Drain flies in the bathroom. Seem to be a fair few admin issues, staff unfamiliar with the system, so WiFi wasn't activated on my account (as an ALL member it should be included) and the restaurant weren't aware I'd booked a package including breakfast. Free to air only on the TV, and you can't cast or login to streaming services. Basic tea, coffee and mini bar supplies. Again, fine if you're there for work, but nescafe, Dilmah and long life milk doesn't match the "5 star" experience. The restaurant attached has a lovely look, and food is nice, but as it's run as a separate business it's clunky getting service. No table service, and wasn't able to charge meals directly to the room, which is the convenience I'm after when travelling. Given there's lots of other hotels and restaurants around, may as well go elsewhere. Restaurant staff were nice, but inexperienced and unsupported, and not enough of them to service the level of business they were doing (only 4 FOH for weekend rush with capacity for 50 pax). No tables reserved for hotel guests with breakfast bookings, so on a busy Sunday morning you have to wait and hope they can clear a table for you, then stake out a table to go order at the counter. Have to pay up front for "extras" (like ham with eggs benedict, or an additional coffee) with your breakfast, which isn't terrible, but given staff were frantic, means you have to stand in line again to order and pay. Gave up on getting a second coffee, headed out to find a Cafe instead. Pool and gym area is pleasant and well maintained, additional pool towels are provided in room. Carpark on site is $28 per day (about standard for CBD), but couldn't book through the Accor app or hotel website, and didn't get a response when I asked during online check in. There's no bar, and given there's also residential apartments that share the building, there's not really a relaxing space to hang out beyond your room. I WOULD recommend this place for a work stay, but given I'd hoped to spend my trip relaxing in the bar, enjoying a movie in my room with wine and cheese, treating myself to a leisurely meal while reading a book, it's a bit of a let down. I'm off to the supermarket to buy myself some real coffee and milk ETA: Thank you for the prompt response from management. It does seem ideal from a corporate perspective. What's frustrating is that this is not made clear on the Accor app or the hotel website. I recently (Feb 2023) stayed at Peppers at the Silo in Launceston, which is likewise listed via the Accor loyalty program as 4.5 stars and specifically marketed as a conference and corporate venue. The difference was so dramatic. Obviously there will be some variation from state to state, but I choose Accor hotels for a certain level of brand consistency. I tried buying a diffuser to shift the musty smell from my room, but despite 2 days of trying to air out the space I couldn't deal. Dropped my key in the express check out box, and booked somewhere else for my final night. Would rather wear the cost than spend another night in musty mediocrity watching Netflix on my tablet.

I want to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at your establishment. My experience was marked by a series of unacceptable issues that warrant immediate attention. Firstly, the door keys were reissued for three consecutive days, creating a significant inconvenience. Despite raising concerns with the hotel staff, the lack of accommodation and accountability was disheartening. I expected a more responsive and customer-centric approach to resolving such basic issues rather than just blaming the door battery which wasn’t truthful as others who were staying there also expressed their frustrations with this same issue. The behavior of your baristas on Xmas day further added to the dismay. They were not only rude but also displayed aggressive behavior, tarnishing the overall atmosphere of your establishment. Hospitality should not include such unwarranted hostility from staff members. Furthermore, a flagged issue with the TV was ignored throughout my stay, and it was disappointing that no effort was made to address or rectify the situation. This negligence in attending to reported problems reflects poorly on the commitment to guest satisfaction. Additionally, the internet service was subpar, making it nearly impossible to use and had to resort to hot spotting 5G from my phone in order to entertain my kids. In a world where connectivity is crucial, the poor quality of your internet service is unacceptable for a hotel of your caliber. Regrettably, based on this experience, I have decided never to stay at the Sebel again, and I am inclined to discourage others from choosing this specific location. It is my hope that you take this feedback seriously and implement necessary changes to ensure a more satisfactory experience for your future guests.

Very very disappointed. I was expecting so much more from a Sebel and a 5* one at that. Suppose I had too much optimism only to be let down. Checked in but had to buzz the door. It was only 8.30pm as I just arrived off a lateish flight. And somehow then reception thought I needed a full explanation to why I needed to enter. I had checked in online but no key was ready and needed to pay up front even though I'm a long time Accor member with all the details loaded including credit card. Annoying. However then I wanted to see if I would get my free welcome drink voucher that comes with my status. That wasn't forthcoming at all, but would have been 100% pointless as the restaurant was closed from 8pm and there was no bar. For a 5*hotel in the CBD id expect a open bar at least to 10ish. On heading to the room there is a lift upgrade so it's a little slow going, but the room itself are very small. Bed is comfortable and AC works. But that's about it. The furnishing are tired and you have to do the old thing and move the bed 2ft to find a power point close to the bed. Again not 5* The bathroom was new but tiny and cramped. Shower was in the bath and very tight to fit. Amenities are refillable ones but a good few steps away from the shower. Overall 1 night was fine but never again and not for $300. Pay for somewhere else. This just reminded me of a Ibis range budget hotel (Ibis recognise your status and give you a drink you can redeem!), but for the 5* cost.

Aging and need of a makeover. Low ceilings so feels very claustrophobic. AC works well. Bathrooms are renovated, but very small
Walkability
Central and close to main mall. Great spot
Food & drinks
Poor range and overpriced. No room service after 8pm.

We decided to spend New years eve at the Sebel brisbane. Upon arrival the staff that greeted us were professional and friendly, and sorted out our check in quickly. We felt quite welcome and were excited to see the room. Getting upstairs we quickly realised that we would need to clean the room ourselves as there were several areas that were not clean. Oily stains/hand prints on the head board of the bed, surfaces were dirty as well as the bathroom areas. Chairs were also dirty and stained. The bed appeared comfy at first but we realised that it was actually 2 beds pushed together, disguised as 1 bed. We also found that there was no fitted sheet and if you try to lie in the middle of the bed, they slowly separate and form a crevasse that you slowly sink into. The pillows were hard and the whole set up was pretty hard to get comfortable in. We did not sleep well. However the mini bar was well stocked, there was ample wardrobe and storage space and the staff were quite lovely. We did check out late and the front desk were very accommodating with our request. The elevators are very very slow and the internet doesnt work plus costs $25 a night. Another dissapointing thing is that we brought our laptop to watch movies but the TV doesn't let you change the input. Would not recommend and most likely will not return

Whilst we were only there for one night, we only got to engage with the front of house staff. They were so welcoming, and actually looked pleased to see us! Thank you Annie for your quick and informative discussion when we checked in. All the facilities were great, heated pool was open. Thank you also to Angela who sorted out our checking out requirements. Location and price bracket suited us. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed in Room 1906. It meet our expectations for cleanliness and comfort. The bed was large and very comfortable. Plenty of cashions and extra pillows in wardrobe should you need it. Towels for the pool were also in the wardrobe. Robes and slippers a great touch!

We always stay at the Sebel as the location is very convenient. The hotel however probably needs a refurbishment as it is getting a bit old. Curtains are old and the carpet is old and is starting to smell. Our first night the water heater wasn’t working properly so we were unable to take a shower on our first night, but the person at the front desk was very helpful and tried to resolve the problem but was unable to as they couldn’t call someone to fix being too late at night. The next day housekeeping made up the beds but forgot to replace our bath mats and face washers which was brought up the next day. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Extremely unsatisfied, advertised as 5 star, I would give it a 3. Standard rooms nothing special, stain on bed sheet, ordinary linen, good amenities, old ironing board, awful dressing gowns full of static, you can here the lift sound everytime someone got in and out. Renovations were going on so loud drilling in the building so unable to sleep in daytime. 4 hours notice via an email to notify restaurant under renovation, we booked many months prior. Will never return to Sebel Brisbane. The shower made a loud banging noise when transfering to bath mode. Housekeeping was very loud in the morning. No Pillow menu, no room service, had to source food elsewhere. Hard bed and fat pillows. Awful sleep.

A mid-size hotel with a range of room types. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which would be perfect for longer stays as it has a small kitchen including fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine along with dining table and sitting room with office desk. Our room had plenty of windows which could be opened for fresh air. Decor is pleasant. There is a pool and a restaurant/bar on the ground floor. The hotel is close to the main shopping area and to the city bus interchange. It is at least a 10 minute walk to the nearest train station (although there will be a close metro station when the new line opens in the future).

Have seen some comments re one bedroom apartment and whilst it is true that it is not a full kitchen small fridge etc I would agree that if you wanted to do your own cooking look elsewhere but if you just want a bit bigger space and an occasional use of washing machine and other appliances it is a great location. Our room attendant was excellent

Everything was amazing! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for shopping and restaurants. The only problem we ran into was for the price of the room. We had one bedroom and a fold out couch for two nights at $756. On top of that we were charged for 2 nights using the carpark which seemed strange given it was private to the hotel which was an additional $60. Other than that we enjoyed our stay in the area.

Excellent location in Brisbane CBD however this is a very no frills accommodation. - Internet was very slow (ended up having to tether off my phone approx 1-2 mbps download). - No plug for bath so couldn’t use the bath tub. - Air conditioning was either cold or hot, no real good balance. - Rubbish was rarely kept up. - Dining was shared with the general public so service was very slow.

Genuinely was a nice stay. However, the kids bed wasn't made when we arrived. When we left they double charged us for 1 nights accommodation. I got onto this straight away and we still haven't been refunded. 16 days later! Since calling them. This is ridiculous. Now accruing interest on our credit card. We have called multiple times and have received we are sorry, but literally nothing has happened. Super disappointing service from a big company.

I wouldn’t rate this hotel more than a 2 star hotel…the location is great but rooms are old, mine was dirty, the bathroom tiny. The pool area looked terrible (used towels, cans and bottles everywhere) and the floors in the hallways were dirty the whole time I was there. For a night it’s fine but I wouldn’t spend any longer there.

We had a 1 bedroom family room (1 bedroom + 1 sleeper sofa). Was spacious and clean. Central location. Restaurant at bottom was nice but seemed expensive and there was no table service (surprising for price). But I think it is an independent business just associated with the hotel. Still plenty of eating choices nearby. Would stay again.
