Visited friday 12/30. Place was nearly empty when I got there with my group, only a few patrons at the bar. Got our ID's checked, went to go settle in by the pool table, and listened to the bartender loudly ask the person who came in behind us to get out (some issue with her ID). Within a few minutes of us sitting down and trying to get the pool table set up, the bartender began aggressively telling us to either buy drinks or get out. We explained that we had just sat down and would get drinks soon, but she continued harassing us to either get drinks or get out. A few bar patrons joined in claiming that we were only there to play pool, which was not the case. The Willows was our destination for the day and we likely would've spent the rest of our night there, but we ended up leaving as soon as we arrived since it was such a strangely hostile environment. All told we were there about five minutes. I'm not sure if the bartender was having a rough night or what, but I don't think any of us would give The Willows a second chance. Strangest and most abrasive bar experience I've ever had. No wonder it was the only empty bar we saw that night. Ended up at The Lone Star Saloon which had better games, decor, atmosphere, and a bartender who didn't yell at us.

A friend and I were in SF on a Saturday night and trying to find a place with outdoor dining, food, and drinks that would be open at around 10 PM. With so many places closing early due to COVID, we just tried looking online and found this spot! We pulled up and there was tons of outdoor seating which was a relief. The menu had tons of great options and I went with a cheesesteak and a cider on draft. It was excellent! Also, the bartender Josh was super kind and chill. He answered our questions about the menu, and made friendly conversation. It can be hard to keep a good attitude during these times, but he was awesome and made us feel welcome in this bar we hadn't been to before. I don't know if more people aren't aware of this place being open, but if you're looking for food and drinks later in the evening like we were, go here!

This place will not disappoint! It is chill! I’ve come here twice and will keep coming back I know it. They have good drinks! My favorite is the whisky hibiscus refresher. Both times I’ve some in on a Sunday for brunch. The burgers where very good! We tried the cheeseburger and fried chicken, both were really good. But the fries are even better!!! Their sauces that come with them are good too. Shock to see that not many people have been around brunch. I recommend seating at the bar if you like to converse with the bartender. They are cool. Also they have many board games, pinball machines and a pool table. * disclaimer: I am known to sample the material, then I remember to photograph.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My friends and I were treated horribly. After an hour of waiting for our food, my friends politely asked for a status. The bartender behind the bar went from 0 to 100 in anger raging and yelling at us, even flipping us off. We walked out because we seriously felt that he was going to resort to violence and throw a glass or something at us. We did NOTHING to aggregate him but simply ask in the nicest way possible because believe it or not this is not the first time we've delt with this. After multiple repeats, my question is, owners/managers, this isn't the first time you've heard this story, so what are you doing about it?

Best bar food in SF; fantastic staff; great laid back atmosphere. The Willows is a must for a quick snack before clubbing at Oasis/DNA/F8. With daily specials, it’s also a great cost-saver to pregame here. My water polo team loves dropping by for after-practice dinners, as they’re super accommodating for large late-nite groups.

The Willows has been the go to spot for my friends and I after our monthly bar night. It was nice to be able to go back into The Willows and be remembered by the staff there. Staff is friendly, the drinks are good, and the food is excellent! I highly recommend this space for a night out with friends or for a date.

Here on Business, from San Antonio, TX: Went to three place before here (last stop).. its what I would say, corner hole in a wall place. Soon as you ealk in, place is rocking (7pm). friendly bar tender, friendly staff and OMG Deeelicious freaking Lamb (medium) basket w/onion string onion rings. The beer is a Firestone Walker Loponic Distortion 5.9% and it went well with the lamb. Im have travel alot and this place is sure to return and try something different on the menu (fies pickles maybe or a strak burger). A must come visit once.. but for me be here tomorrow

The food was tasty. Ordered the burger of the month which was a French dip inspired burger and a Mary burger both with fries. Paired these with a cider and a pale ale. The only thing that was lacking was the ambiance for the evening. 15 to 20 people in the bar and they were blasting gangster rap and the bar staff had to keep changing the song in the back periodically for a place that has more of a sports bar or board game bar. Going to try it out again another night to try more food and drinks. The back bar was closed when we were there.

Came on a Tuesday at 9:30 and it was basically empty. The metal music blaring out in the main room was a nice touch, and pretty appropriate for the atmosphere. There’s a lot of seating, and we sat in the back room where it was quieter. The bartender was super friendly, and they even let our friends kids run around as long as they didn’t disturb the few other customers. Not a lot of bars in the area open this late with food, so we’ll definitely be back.

I met friends at the Willows for brunch. I found a cozy atmosphere and delicious brunch options there. The weather was nice so we ate in the parklet. The food was made to order and we had a large group so patience was required, but all dishes were excellent and delicious. I had a delicious minimalist bloody mary (no onions, celery, or beans). It was fabulous and just the punch you need to start the day. Street parking only here. Definitely affordable and worth the trip out.

Love their food. Always have a good time when I'm there. Lots of games, good music, and pool. Two bars. Try to go whenever I'm going tonshow at DNA. It"s gritty and unpretentious, but I love it there (also love their sister bar, the Sycamore!)

Great place to hang out! I went on a Sunday evening and they had trivia going on - very fun! The food was so good! I got the adult happy meal and my boyfriend got the steak and cheese and we both agreed it was one of the best we’ve ever had. Drinks were so delicious!! Staff is friendly and fun - check it out!

Can't wait to come back here once everything opens back up. The bartender Lucas was super friendly and let us customize our order. They have outdoor seating and the food was delicious! They have a cool vibe inside with pinball games and a pool table. Wish we'd gotten to check it out pre covid but we'll definitely be making another appearance.

  • Leonard Suguitan (Len)

Bartender made good drinks and was fast! The place has plenty of seating both outside and inside. Ordered fries, and they were good. Had a drink called the "Impeachment", which had bourbon, ginger beer, and peach nectar to name a few ingredients. We sat at a booth inside, and was cozy. If I were in the area, Id probably go back.

Craft beer, great food and vibes. Sports on multiple tvs, pool table, pinball machines & wide selection of spirits. You might meet either your greatest love, or your most powerful adversary here. LGBTQ friendly, everybody friendly. Close to live music and a stones throw away from La Mission. Do it.

  • Rodney Pruitt

Good bar food. Im not a huge fan of having to order with the bartender as they usually only have one on duty and they are busy making drinks. The cheese curds are always great and they make their own chicken nuggets which are kind of like katsu chicken cutlets. So crunchy and really well cooked.

  • Cara Struve

Lots of games to play, friendly bartender to chat with and what seemed to be regular patrons. The food was good and the menu offered a lot of tasty options. I wish I lived in the area so I could visit again.

The food quality is good. I had a cheeseburger and fries. My only complaint is the patty was to the small side. The burger did taste good though. The place was busy but the service was quick and attentive.

Awesome corner spot for food and drinks. Their beer selection is solid on top of top of the variety of mixed drinks. The food is rich and filling. The place has a great layout for socialising, and you can even pick up a tabletop game to pass the time.

Good service, a bit dangerous outside the establishment but that’s not their fault! It’s all the homeless and thief’s fault! Pinball machines 5 stars! I might have to go back !

Nice tap room with a pretty good selection at fair prices. I haven't tired the food yet. There are gnats flying around inside since the doors are kept open, but that's typical of any Soma businesses that leave their doors open. Dog friendly!

  • Amanda Astey

The black bean burger here is to die for. It isn't trying to taste like a burger, it's its own thing, but man I could eat it every day. Don't order any salads here though, they're usually super underwhelming. I also recommend this place for

Loved the vibe. Went on a Wednesday night and they had trivia going on. They had some arcade games and a pool table available. Beers are moderately priced, but the best thing is the fried chicken sandwich. It's the bomb. Even the bartender

I so enjoyed my time here. I shared a delicious hamburger and salt and pepper fries. I loved the bartender and his girl, they are the best. Bartender is quick and witty, you accomplish something if you can keep up with his rhetoric. …

  • Shambavi Krishnamurthi

Beer selection and service was great. Great relaxed vibe with quiz nights, board games, pool, etc. Although not a deal breaker, the bartender serving cocktails was distracted and we waited long for our order to be taken while at the bar.

I give this place 4 stars because my female relatives got into an argument about capitalism here, and nobody made them feel bad about it except me. So, that's what the ambiance is.

Food wasn't very good, tasted rushed. Went to watch the warriors game, and they had the game on with no sound. They decided to play music instead. Wack experience.
