I used to enjoy this space and considered hosting an event here, but after my friend had such difficulty with them, I am no longer interested in supporting them. My friend had an event booked six months in advance; one of the owners made them feel put out about having the event there, on that specific day (a couple weeks before the event), and was passive aggressively encouraging them to cancel the event. Even if this is not a regular occurrence for them, it is poor business practice, not to mention a huge inconvenience for the booking party.

An essential COMMUNITY Gallery space, Tortuga has recreated an urban, underground art & performance space in an old turn-of-the-century (1800’s to 1900’s) Railroad area storefront. One of my favorite places togo in ABQ for an inspiring casual evening listening to local musicians and viewing or purchasing art from real local (and affordable) artists. If you like like 1970’s style “hippy community” casual creativity... don’t pass up an opportunity to visit.

My brother and I hosted a poetry ready at Tortuga Gallery a few years back and it is such beautiful, welcoming place with shockingly good art installed thereabouts that I remember the place to this day. One of Albuquerque's cultural treasures.

I was at Tortuga for a live music belly dance show. The gallery is a warm, wonderful place to go. The music and dancing were great. The only down side is the gallery is in a residential area with narrow streets and no off street parking.

Great community art space in the South Broadway neighborhood. If you have an opportunity, drop by before Oct. 31 to see an incredible exhibition by renowned artist Santiago Perez. A great chance to support local art.

Nice intimate place. They do not have regular open hours. They have evening events usually. It's best to call the location to either set up a time to visit or check their FB/website for update events.

A community art program facilitating communal responsibility, awareness, and created by children or for children. Awesome murals on outside walls!! One of my favorite places in this area.

Wonderful, community art gallery. Art changes every month. They bring in talented artists. Have great events like sound healing and slam poetry. They have many great musical artists too

A quaint little community gallery that rotates through a wide range of artists on their walls and performances on their stage. A nice detour from the routine.
