The guide (who was actually not, but still he functioned as one) was not very knowledgeable (they should hire an academic or PhD pursuant in tribal studies) was still cool headed. The thing is it's not a very big museum, even though it should, could and must've been. The artefacts are real but in pathetic and exposed condition. I know a digital museum tour is something they can't even think to afford or pursue, but at least try to have some books or merchandise of tribal art to sell and fill your pockets. Also, they should install more lights inside the tribal hut models and in the hall. Also, the entire Vidyapeeth area is very big and confusing, so just enter from gate no. 1 (that lies between Juna Wadaj BRTS and Income Tax AMTS bus stands from the outside). Pictures have been posted by me as to what the landmarks of nearby buildings of the museum look like. No tickets, free of cost.

Have just had here the worst experience ever while visiting a museum in Ahmedabad… Museum closed upon arrival, with no light, whereas it was advertised as open on internet. Rude behaviour of the guy at the entrance, who finally opened the doors and turned on the lights for us. Absolutely no feel of welcome. A shame for Gujarat tourism!!!

Only the Museum is available in this place, the institute has shifted to Gandhinagar. The boys in charge.of the museum are very friendly and helpful. It is a small and interesting place. Taking photographs is.prohibited.

Every state have on Local Tribal Museum must recived it's tocing about local culture with attached Local people.
