Visited this location at 11 am with three cars in the drive through and no one waiting in lobby. We were greeted by no one and we patiently waited at the counter for 5 minutes for our order to be taken. The wait would have been acceptable if they were busy but it seems that they were having POS machine issues. Well enough, that happens but the level of customer service that was provided during the issue was zero. It was obvious they were frustrated as they raised their voices and stomped around the store complaining about the issue. While we waited an employee had come back from break only to be yelled at upon walking in that they had already been clocked back in and to start working in the back. As we sat and waited for our food but still unable to pay the man who I can only assume to be the manager came in, telling the employees that he was aware of the computer issue that they were having (but still left them alone to deal with it while he ran to the bank) as we waited we were referred to as “those people” even though they ask for your name when they take your order. The manager then started asking employees and or us the only customers in the store who’s truck was parked in front of the building, claiming that we had taken up two parking spaces. We had parked clearly within the lines. It was then explained that he was only joking but there was no smile or hint of sarcasm in the mans voice to be noticed. It’s not so much one thing or the other that would have made this experience so unpleasant but the combination of it all. We will not be returning to this establishment as there was NO attempt from any employees or management to maintain a base level of professionalism in the work place. Very disappointed. EDIT: In addition now trying to eat my food and noticing it is prepared incorrectly and has ingredients added that we’re not on the menu for the product.

I have been debating on if I wanted to post my review because I tend to frequent the establishment however after this incident I will not be returning nor my family who may also leave a review. While there are many amazing people working here that I adore this situation was completely unexuseable. The way the manager I believe his name was Steven. He was completely rude and disrespectful. While I was trying to place the order he kept stopping my order to ask the worker to do something. The first time I was ok with it figured it’s important. Once we got to the 3rd and 4th time I was completely exhausted and expressed my frustration with his constant interruptions bumbarding the young worker with a honey do list ! In which his response to me was “You can wait” and he swirled around and continued to hound the worker. The poor worker seems so stressed. Once Steven walked away the worker apologized many times. I placed my order and was going to leave but I felt like there needed to be something done about Steven. I asked the worker for the managers name and contact. That is when I found out this person WAS a manager a GENERAL manager. How disgusting. We will not be returning!

We decided to try this place and are wildly underwhelmed. 1. Waited for a long time to get to the window to order. 2. When we get to the window we wait a full 12 minutes (we timed it) before anybody comes to take our order. 3. Before we can order a worker tries to hand us smoothies. It seems as though the people before us didn't want to wait that long and just drove off. 4. When we explain the smoothies aren't ours and try to order, the worker let's us get about get about 5 words into the order before HE WALKED AWAY from us without a word to us. 5. Another few minutes pass and another worker comes to the window to take our order. He doesn't write down our order or offer us sides. He seems agitated when we order sides and asks us to pull forward. Doesn't that reset the timer so that they don't look bad about just how long they've made us wait? 6. When we finally get our order, they forgot our sides and got my order wrong. This is why you write down the order. I didn't return it because I was beyond annoyed at that point. Moral of the story: Don't have a drive through if you can't make a product fast enough to facilitate the throughput. TL;DR: Long wait, bad service, inaccurate order.

My Supervisor, Co-worker and I went get smoothies tonight after leaving the gym. We arrived at Tropical Smoothie at 8:51pm and the front door was locked but the drive thru open sign was on. We all got in the drive thru line, we were in three separate vehicles. So the cashier looked out the door at about 8:59 and decided to turn the drive thru sign off. When my Supervisor finally made it to the window to order...she was told they were CLOSED and they REFUSED TO SERVE US. We were in line prior to 9:00. I pulled up and asked the cashier why can't we be served and she because its 9:00 and we close at 9:00. I told her we were in line prior to 9:00 and of course she said weren't. I asked for the Store Managers card. She had a poor nasty attitude. This was POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. We always go to this location for smoothies and sandwiches. Money and customers they lost tonight and I will let my other Zumba folks know not to go to this location and usually there about 75 ppl or more in class.

Sad to write this as I work in the medical office up the road and this was my favs but after tonight I will be discouraging anyone to visit this location further. I stopped tonight I was the only one there I always expect at least a 20 minute wait the staff is always slow…but I ordered a smoothie the girl ordering cut me off and didn’t add it to my ticket. Ordered a chicken quesadilla, the wrong stuff was inside and they threw it upside down I’m the box so the entire cheese and tortilla were glued by the time I arrived to work. Then the wrap…one of my faves. The eggs were huge bricks that were ice cold the cheese wasn’t melted and no meat??? It was completely inedible. If I’m going to pay almost $13 and wait 20 minutes for this little bit of food I expect a little more. Called the store no offer of apology just told they would remake. I was already back from lunch and didn’t have time to wait an additional 20 minutes so I went 12 hours with no food. I’m glad the employees felt really bad…not.

Was here on a Sunday morning and ordered a basic detox smoothie. There was only one other patron in the store and two in the drive thru. I paid for the smoothie and proceeded to wait 15 - 20 minutes while I watched patron after patron come in, get items and leave. There was also online orders and drive thru orders being serviced during my wait. The young lady in the front neither addressed my wait or the smoothie I ordered. I asked why I hadn't received my order and she said "I guess they lost your ticket." Then she told me "I've told them to make it like 3 times." I get that human errors happen, but to not address it or make sure it was actually ordered (to tell someone three times and it still not be up with me just standing there) is unacceptable. I politely asked for a refund and went elsewhere. The customer service at this location needs to be addressed.

Best service and recommendations from the staff! Charles was an absolute sweetheart and with help of his very kind coworker Cambria I got exactly what I wanted with vegan options added. I was so impressed by the customer service that I informed their manager on duty who was also very appreciative and kind! By the way, the food!!! Wow!! I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of food I received while trying the new Hawaiian wrap and my daughter trying the Caesar wrap!! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We both were delightfully pleased!! Thank you so much for being such a great experience for us with the best staff, management and food!!!

Only reason this rating is getting a star is because the food is good. Other than that the service was unsatisfying. The workers seem nice but there must be some type of change for their processes. I waited 40 minutes to get my food during my lunch break. 20 minutes in the drive thru and 20 minutes inside. I don’t know what the point is to even have a drive thru if you’re going to wait 20 minutes. If I wanted a sit down experience I would have to gone to Cracker Barrel across the street. I don’t know about you guys but I don’t plan to spend over half of my lunch break at a food place, not eating. Worst drive thru experience for sure.

I work in this area and this is one of my top goto lunch places during the week, and has been so for the past few months now. It is apparent from past reviews that this location suffered from poor management. From what I can see, none of these issues no longer exist here. Somedays during the week this location can be quite busy (lots of offices around here), but they seem to adapt and manage the busyness quite well. The place is clean, and employees are very friendly and personable (they make an effort to remember regular's names). The food and smoothies also taste fantastic (can't say that about all tropical smoothies in town).

Meal was decent. Smoothies were good. Store seemed clean. We used the drive thru and the manager took care of us. I do feel the price could be slightly better. A $7 grilled cheese was hard to swallow (no pun intended). Either way, we will return because the quality was good enough.

Smoothies are not consistent in quality. On one occasion, my Mocha Madness Smoothie was so watery that it was not even sweet and had little flavor. Because I was too busy at work to return, I had to throw it away. Also, they encourage you to use the online application to order but FAIL TO TELL YOU that you will NOT get the daily discount if you do! You only get the dail discount before 8:00 am if you order by phone or in person which wastes more time and not always dependable. Once I ordered by phone, the server took my order, abruptly hung up, and then when I arrived, the order had not even been placed!!!

I'm so sick and tired of ordering stuff online and not getting what I order. Also how hard is to keep straws that you can actually drink out of. They gave me the worlds smallest straw for my smoothie today. Go to the store or I know contact another Tropical Smoothie and see if the can spare some straws. Don't give me the excuse Sysco was out of stock! You mean to tell me they didn't have any straws or replacement sized straws in stock? I have been in the business for over 25 years I know you can get replacement products. You would rather inconvenience your customers and you look incompetent!

I go to Tropical Smpothie minimum 3 days a week, usually every weekday. This is the worst location in jacksonville I've been to. Reason is the employees lack care for their job. They don't answer the phone so apparently this is the only location that doesn't answer. After calling 5x over the course of 45 minutes I had to rush and try to put an order in before 9am to get the discount smoothie, BUT....since it was online only and I had gotten there at 8:56 they didnt honor it. Yeah no thanks poor management and customer service skills. I will stick with JTB, Hodges and Baymeadows location

The service at this location is terrible. I arrive at 7:00 order taken 7:09 first car in line didn’t receive my order till 7:20 only ordered a smoothie. I will never visit this location again. I have had this issue prior. The work the drive as we have no where to go. They are never open and ready for business on time. Most of the morning I bet the workers there. I notice they work online orders and they can care less about the customer in the drive through. The manager working this morning did care that I just waiting had no urgency about getting my order and bet me with attitude.

Of all the franchise locations I've visited this one is the best! The food always tastes great and my flatbread is always FULL, unlike other locations. I love that they have fresh fruit available as your side. This is not an option at all locations. I placed my order ahead, via the app, but the parking situation is terrible here, so I decided to wait in the drive through line. Since they have an attendant outside taking orders in the line, I didn't have to wait long, as she quickly went inside and brought my order to me in the line! The staff is always friendly and helpful!

Usually never have issues at trop smoothie but on 02/14/2020 I ordered a Detox island green smoothie. I noticed my stomach was bubbling as soon as I was getting half way thru it and later when got home got violently sick. It was from the smoothie as i did not eat anything else that day. Also the service was really bad that day. Girl at the front is talking to much and not hearing the "order up" that's being called my smoothie sat on the counter for 10 mins before she finally started trying to give customers their smoothie. Go to a different tropical smoothie not this one

I showed up to the store at 8:34 (per my text messages) I was told the inside was closed and to get in drive thru line. I thought cool no problem only 3 cars there. Sat there and nobody moved until 8:55 when a girl came out and said I wouldn’t be served because the other people in front of me had been there for a long time and there was only 2 people working. First google review ever at 29 years old.. Sorry service, I clearly saw at least 3 people working and I went to smoothie king where there was one other in line and had my smoothie before 9. Absolutely sorry workers

I ordered at the windows 8:55am. My question” Are all the drinks still at the happy hours prices?” I asked twice, didn’t get the answer. I asked again, the person on the speaker rise the voice “ yes, yes .., have you payment ready and drivers to the window “. The happy hours is till 9:00. Her voice was so rude, I normally careless for how people attitude, but this time is really get me. I can’t see myself meet the person just yelled at me at the window to get my food. So I thank you her and asked to canceled my order.

25 minutes. I ordered online for immediate pickup and it took nearly half an hour to make a smoothie and a sandwich?! I like this place, people are usually polite. Sometimes unhelpful, I’ve sat around waiting for my food before and no one greeted me. Online order said it would be ready after 15 minutes. I sat inside longer than people in the drive thru for food ordered WAY before they got here. Don’t come here. Avoid this spot. Other locations maybe don’t have this issue, but this place is a huge waste of time.

This was my go to.. I ate here prob 2x a week. The food and smoothies are great but they are pretty slow. Recently one employee was rude when my order didn't make it there from online and I was asking to put another order in. They completely ignored me and kept helping other customers. And then the supervisor berated me because I "didn't have a phone" which I had left in my vehicle. I won't be going back and that sucks because I really like eating there.

Frequent customer after not visiting for a over year..due lack of customer service. Gave another try and recognized a whole new staff, friendly and customer service focused. But then the last week or so..my calls went unanswered, those were answered my order was not ready which caused me to be late to WORK. This past Thursday I called in, placed order, arrive at the store, 1 car ahead of me and a over 10min wait I left and was late too work again without my smoothie.

This location delivery is terrible. Smoothies are watered down, food is mostly forgotten. In my most recent terrible experience my chips were webbed and full of mold. After calling and speaking with Manager Sarah ,I was told they do their best to inspect bags upon reciept to make sure they are not opended. Somehow I don't believe that. Tropical Smoothie Cafe! That's a terrible name. Despite the effort to toss "cafe" in there, everyone still thinks of them as a smoothie shop. And I do love those smoothies. Want a great one that isn't one of their most common sellers? Order the Triple Berry Oat Smoothie. It's a fantastic breakfast smoothie...or any other hour of the day. But truly don't forget the food, they have some really unique and tasty menu items that hit the spot. Enjoy!

Listen, it's an automatic 5 stars when you visit and they remember your name and even past orders. I mean how awesome is that?? They are always super nice and service is speedy inside. The parking lot design and traffic isn't their fault so shouldn't be counted against them. I'm always a fan of the Caribbean Jerk wrap and the Chia Banana with Peanut butter. Oh and paying via the app is a no-brainer. You get like $5 off after a few visits.

This is hands down the worst Tropical Smoothie that I have ever been to in my entire life. I waited longer than 30 minutes for my food before I decided to go to the counter for a refund. I was then told that the manager would come out to refund my money. I waited five more minutes before telling them they can use my money as a donation to Tropical Smoothie. I had to go back to work and couldn’t wait any longer. I will never go back.

What more can I say about the best place to eat in town. Atmosphere is super clean and the staff is exceptional. Oh and the food is outstanding. I love the tropicalada shakes and don't forget to download the app. Because I go there so much I have saved over $50 dollars with the app. Can't beat the call in and pickup service. Tell them Jay sent you and you may get $5 off of your meal cause I know the owner. IJS.....!!

3 stars for good food and occasional good service. This place really needs better management I come here a lot because it is close to work and I like their avocado grilled cheese. However you can expect to wait 30+ minutes in the drive thru which is not ideal if you are going for a lunch break. This is generally a great place and I really appreciate the workers that show up it just needs more help to run smoother.

ordered on postmates a caprese sandwich with no chicken and no tomato, my requests were completely disregarded and they put the sandwhich in the system to make it regular. considering their chicken is disgusting, now my lunch is ruined. thank you so much for wasting my time and money. also tried to call the store and the phone goes straight to voicemail. very disappointed. i wish i could give zero stars.

Great smoothies. They have so many flavors you can choose from. You can also add a supplement or add/omit an ingredient to customize it the way you like. The crew is awesome! They always make me smile, especially Molly. Great way to start any day. They have a happy hour between 7-9am Monday-Friday. The app will give you rewards on your birthday as well as once you hit a certain price point.

I ordered a Bahama Mama smoothie and chicken quesadilla on 8/15/2020. Approximately 60-90 min after eating from this location I began to have terrible stomach cramps. Around 8pm that evening I started vomiting multiple times and was still experiencing stomach cramps. Someone needs to check the ingredients or needs a refresher in food preparation before I will ever visit this location again!

We love this restaurant a lot. So much that we order every Thursday morning. The staff are very sweet and always have a warm hello even when they are super busy. Great healthy options, an app that is fantastic and the smoothies are always yummy. My favorite is the Island Green with oats. I order mine with half sugar. Or I treat myself with a mocha madness (half sugar still) :)

I used to go to this location regularly because it's close to my office, but it is routinely the worst service in town. I've never had my order completed correctly in roughly 30 visits and the staff consists of a bunch of teenagers without any adults present whatsoever. Their smoothies are usually good, but I had to stop going here because the service just couldn't be worse.

Just tried the new Cranberry & Truffle Smoothie, after it was recommended by the sweet young lady at the drive-thru window of the Philips Highway - Tropical Smoothie Cafe Wasn't sure what to expect, but I am incredibly happy with it. Fantastic blend of flavors. Absolutely love it. Delicious smoothie. And fantastic, fast Service. Couldn't be happier.. ❤

I waited in the drive thru for 25 minutes before I walked inside to see that one person was working the walk in and drive thru. You can not run a business like this ! I had a 30 minute break and ended up not eating because of the ridiculousness of this facility. To top it off the lady at the front is so unprofessional it’s not even funny

We went to support flip flop day and got the one they were promoting. It was not good! Very sour, too much lime or lemon in it and lots of pieces/chunks of peeling in it. Very gross. We gave them another try and to support their fundraiser but will stick with WAWA for our smoothies, they are cheaper and have more and better choices.

This Tropical Smoothie is ranked #2 in Jax as far as I'm concerned. They are for the most most l post accurate with my food and smoothies. Even when something is wrong they are quick to fix it. There are a few employees who seem to not want to do their job but that's mainly on the weekends whenever I run into that kind of attitude.

Every employee at this location has been super friendly, even when I'm changing up and adding multiple ingredients to my smoothie. Lol. The phones rings off the hook and they still smile and do not have an attitude. I go to tropical smoothie every Morning, between 3 locations. This 95% of the time get my smoothie perfect.

The food and smoothies aren't bad but you really have to wait awhile to get your order, plus I found it to be a little pricey for what you get. I grabbed a chicken sandwich and it didn't have a lot of chicken on it, to be honest. The people are pretty friendly though and the place is very clean.

I use this place every now and then but the drive through wait is WAY too long. I'm in line now and have been here for 27 minutes. Good food, terrible drive thru. The line always blocks traffic flow in the parking lot, their rinky dink speaker on the wall barely works and it just takes FOREVER!

Be prepared to wait at least 30 min. Not sure why they stopped having employees take the order outside since the line wraps all the way to Jimmy Johns. When you arrive to the window there seem to be zero sense of urgency! Is it hard to apologize for the wait time and thank the customer???

The drive thru was super long, but a great location just to run inside instead of waiting at drive thru. Inside is very spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly as well. I am visiting from Orlando, and my go to Bahama Mama tastes better here than at my home location. Lol

They are fast. I prefer to use the app. I know technology has a way of disconnecting humans but in this case I think the app allows for such a busy store more time and not be so rushed. Each time I use the app, when I walk in my smoothie and food are done and perfect.

My girl and I come here all the time. By far my top 3 favorite places. I had lunch and it tasted amazing. The staff was professional and the food was flawless. My smoothie was prepared exactly how i love it. They never let us down.

Whomever the manager is, they are of lower intelligence. This store pays no attention to drive thru. Approx 20-30 min wait times for 2-3 cars in the drive thru. On a consistent and daily basis. Absolutely the worst. STAY AWAY

Love to eat the food and smoothies. I am a vegetarian, they have a chicken substitute for all their items. I eat lunch and sometimes dinner. Hint, download the app and order 10 min. before, there always a wait at lunch.

The drive through wait time is RIDICULOUS here. We waited over TWENTY minutes for ONE smoothie, with NO other cars in front of us. I could see the young girl inside on her phone and gossiping with another employee.

Smoothie was great, but I ordered a chicken bowl, and got a bowl of romaine lettuce with barely any chicken, and trace amounts of beans and rice. Smoothies are always good, but I won’t be getting the bowl again

Eh, the smoothies are fine but I stood at the register for five minutes before the cashier very unenthusiastically acknowledged my presence. They have a drive thru so maybe they're just severely understaffed.

Drive-through takes forever, about 3 other staff members just standing around while one person was working. Our food was sitting on the counter for 10 minutes no one bothered to check and see who’s it was.
