I had the most incredible experience at the Ward Parkway Ulta store in Kansas City, all thanks to the exceptional assistance of Raven Cruz, a prestige beauty advisor. I just went to this location today and this was I think my second time going to this location. The first time was okay, but today was terrible. Before deciding to write this comment I wanted to look at other reviews to see if others had similar experiences to the one I had today. As soon as I walked in with my sister we were never once greeted or even helped, the one time someone asked if we found everything okay was as we were walking to the register. I knew the vibe was off in this store, but I chose to ignore it. Then after meeting with my sister since we split up she told me about how not only one but two employees kept watching her. The entire time we kept being stared at and followed. Once my sister did receive help she was "helped" very rudely. I don't know if it was because we were "under-dressed" or because we are Mexican. All the white customers were greeted nicely and helped. Looking at the reviews I see that only people of color are the people experiencing similar things my sister and I experienced today. Only will be going to the Overland Park location from here on out. These employees can learn a thing or two from those wonderful employees.

This was my first visit to this store and it was completely unpleasant! Soon as I walked in I was greeted that was to be expected for customer service, but soon after I felt like I was being watched. One employee asked if I needed help finding anything and I told her what I was looking for once I found it I continued to shop around and look being it's my first visit. The same employee comes around AGAIN to ask if I needed help finding anything. Once was enough and if I did I would have came up and asked! Another employee kept their eyes on me and soon after her comes another asking the same question. I put what I wanted to purchase down and walked out! I didn't see them following around or asking other customers multiple times if they needed help. You have "diverse products " but seems your employees have no clue about diversity or profiling. I will not return! Absolutely ridiculous and judging from some of these other reviews I'm not alone. I'll be contacting corporate no person of color should experience this we should be able to shop comfortably just like everyone else!

Exceptional range of cosmetics and beauty supplies at this store, but the staff are what make this branch 5-star. I recently visited Ulta Beauty and had the absolute pleasure of receiving assistance from Claire. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for her exceptional service and expert advice. She went above and beyond to help me pick out new makeup. Claire's warm and welcoming demeanor instantly put me at ease. I'm not a fan of stores like this and usually feel overwhelmed and pressured into buying makeup I ultimately regret purchasing. She took the time to listen attentively to my preferences, concerns, and desired look, showing genuine interest in helping me find the perfect products. Her extensive knowledge of makeup brands, shades, and application techniques was truly impressive. She made sure I understood how to achieve the desired results and even provided some handy tips and tricks. I left the store feeling confident and equipped with newfound knowledge about makeup that I didn't have before.

Sage did my hair the other day and to say the entire experience was incredible is not doing it justice. Sage greeted me promptly and was very professional but also so friendly and easy to talk to. I wasn't really sure what I wanted, except I had photos that I brought in. She very patiently looked at all of them and explained why each would or wouldn't work for what I was trying to achieve. The conversation during my time in the chair was comfortable and easy. Then when she washed my hair, she massaged my head! Nobody does that anymore. ♥️ The finished product is even better than the experience. I have gotten more compliments on my hair than I have in years. I even had an older man stop me at Costco to tell me how pretty my hair looked. Thank you Sage for taking the time to listen and making me feel beautiful and my hair look fire!

My daughter, who is no longer..., made an online appointment to get her eyebrows waxed. Upon our arrival we were told there was no one available to perform the service. Then the lady backtracked and said there was someone there to perform the service. ‍♀️ We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and guess what else...waited. Finally, a lady named Sammy came over and apologized and walked us up to the brow bar. She then began to look very flustered and walked away saying she'd be back. When she returned she told us she didn't have the proper supplies to perform the surgery. This was a HUGE disappointment and waste of our time. Needless to say, the cosmetologist was very nice I was disappointed they couldn't do a Princess Diana piercing.

Made an appointment for 1030am online. The stylist Sage called and left a message half hour before my appointment to say she was bumping me to noon. I wasn't thrilled about this especially only 30 minutes notice and over voicemail. She told me three different excuses 'had to color someone's hair and doesn't want to stop in the middle of it', 'people don't know how to book appointments these days', and she doesn't want appointments back to back. I walked in about 10 til noon. She greeted me and said I could have a seat or shop. I waited at the seat, she was still styling the other person's hair. At 15 after 12 I left. My time is important to me.

This location usually has great people but out of all the times it didn’t go good which is very disappointing because I always drive 30 mins just to be able to come to my favorite location . I can’t remember her name because I threw out my receipt . But she was a cashier with dark hair curly hair it seemed like she was having a bad day but that doesn’t mean you should let your issues effect work and your costumers . Lots of Attitude and I even asked her a question and she didn’t say nothing back . Mind you she’s right infront of my face so how can she not hear me . I hope she wasn’t rude to other people because that’s not how you treat others.

First off, I want to say kudos to the entire Ulta Beauty team. This was my first time shopping there and I had a spectacular time! (as evidenced by my $400+ receipt) The entire staff are very knowledgeable and can easily find any item you're looking for. However, the shining star was Raven. I came to Ulta Beauty to get Fenty Beauty, and I had a shopping list!! Raven helped me find everything on the list and then showed me some excellent products for things I needed and wanted. If you haven't been to this location, you simply must, and ask for Raven. Ulta Beauty, I'll see you soon!

I'm disappointed by this Ulta location. While I was greeted and asked if I needed any help it was my experiences with 2 employees that were disappointing. I had my 8 month old with me and one employee, someone I've obviously never met, came over and said hello to my child and then started touching her. She even touched her face. You should never touch someone you don't know especially a child with covid still around. When I did ask another employee a question she didn't seem interested in helping find a similar one to the product they don't carry. Overall just disappointing.

I got my hair cut and colored here by Molly G. While she was nice she completely and utterly destroyed my hair. I gave her an inspiration cut and color and the color and cut I got in NO way remotely resembles what I presented to her. I ultimately end up putting my hair half way up in a ponytail only to find out I have tiger stripes now! I did fortunately get a refund but the salon manager wanted me to have the stylist try to fix my hair. I decided not to pay for a chance at another botched cut. Attached is the inspiration cut and color and what I got.

Not only do I love shopping here because of how organized, clean, and well varied the store is but also because of the amazing staff this store has. They are always incredibly helpful, but recently kept me safe in a scary situation. The staff noticed a large man, who knew me from my job, following me out of the store. They kept me safe in the back room and helped me file a police report, and assured I was safe before leaving the store. I am incredibly grateful for this staff and this Ulta location with always get my business because of it.

But Raven didn't stop there; she introduced me to a tailored Dermalogica skincare routine that left my skin glowing. They are definitely good at their job. I came in for a few Christmas gifts that my cousin gave me this specifically by ended up, leaving with the whole skin care and hair to care routine lol the girls bare know exactly what to say to a girl to make her buy even got me to sign up for a credit card that I didn’t need. Lol no regrets I spent 130 after they convinced me to sign up for the credit card walked out to dinner and 60 got everything lol

I literally got some of the best service at this store from a rep named raven. Not only was she able to help me pick colors that were better suited for my skin tone and would compliment it better they were even able to help me pick out a facial cleaner and moisturizer that I could actually use since almost everything negatively affects me due to my Roseaca. Definitely coming back to this place, at the very least to get some more Tula.

I had an overall amazing experience at this location. I went in for a color and cut with Sage and she slayed my hair! It was a whole transformation. We did an Olaplex treatment to help protect my hair and maintain my color too, but I loved that they offer that add on and I would highly recommend it. Lastly, Beth was also super friendly and very helpful during my visit! Thank you!

I was greeted when I walked in and while I had an idea of what I wanted the Sales Associate showed me some products I hadn't considered. I think this is easily the best Ulta in the KC metro. The staff is outstanding - they talk kindly to each other and customers, aren’t too annoying about asking over and over if I need help, the store is clean, and things are kept as organized as possible. Happy to go out of my way to shop here!
