    "Terrible experience"

"Great to see a Suburban Cinema still operating, haven't been in many decades, when I was a kid used to go every Saturday afternoon, wouldn't miss the Shadow, movie series when the theater first opened, later, all the Surf movies, 5 pence and 5 pence to spend on lollies and a comic in the shop on the corner, it use to be a second hand book shop,"

"The building is in contravention of the DDA, I use a wheelchair and even though there is a ramp to the entrance outside, there is a step up to the foyer and even if you do make it that far the cinema is not accessible"

"I loved the nostalgic experience, but some better heating would be great for winter! As well as the exit lights to be slightly less distracting"

Recently, my family went to see a movie at the cinema and one of us ordered and PAID for a large 7-UP and was given mineral water. When we went to change it politely and ask for something else, the girl at the counter simply told them to "move along" and didn't address the situation or the mistake at all. Because of this, they had to PAY for another drink. this is awful and rude costumer service and my view on the hospitality of the cinema has been changed.

Terrible experience. My daughter and her friends went to the Spiderman across the spiderverse movie on the 6th July. The movie lost sound halfway through and they were only offered a free chocolate. You would hope they would be given a ticket refund so they could return to watch the movie when the sound works. Please consider refunding cinema users when your facilities do not work properly.

The building is in contravention of the DDA, I use a wheelchair and even though there is a ramp to the entrance outside, there is a step up to the foyer and even if you do make it that far the cinema is not accessible. Maybe the regulatory authorities should be aware of the breach and either demand the necessary modifications or closure.

I loved the nostalgic experience, but some better heating would be great for winter! As well as the exit lights to be slightly less distracting. I found that the cinema was also not very sound proof within, so every whisper or chuckle was heard. I watched The Father(2020) here recently. It was a great movie!

So run down and dirty, I would not recommend a visit. Screen had distracting marks, air conditioning unit is louder than the movie, seats are falling apart, toilets haven't been cleaned in months! Go find a Hoyts!

I visited this cinema for the first time and was very impressed with the large screen and comfortable seating and overall atmosphere. It's fantastic to have a cinema that forms part of the community!

Love this tiny cinema in Avalon. It's tiny and quant but its great if it's raining and you can't hit the beach. They don't show a huge amount of movies or at heaps of time as they are pretty small.

I love this cinema! Reminds me of my childhood... really nice kids behind the counter and they engaged me afterwards...did I like the movie?! I will be back again and again and...!

  • Caroline Schreiber

I would NOT recommend coming to this cinema! The staff don’t care about you and when I went to watch a movie with my friends, they didn’t tell us the movie was in FRENCH!

Our community loves our little Avalon Cinema So convenient to have if one doesn't want to go beyond the bends Would be a shame if this closed down for any reason

It's good to have a small local cinema, and this one is great. Nothing fancy but they have 2 screens and popcorn. I plan to go regularly.

The home of excellent movies. If you want more than just average grade entertainment then Avalon's programs are worth checking out

  • Jo-Anne Lee

Comfort able chairs and good screen size. First visit and I loved It. We have to support the small independent cinema chains.

Movie was out of focus - exit sign so bright it reflected off the screen Nobody on site seemed to care Tired and rundown

The theater smells foul. Audio is varied. Sometimes good and other times average. Seats are nothing to brag about

A great resource for the local community. Art Deco retro movie experience for the family and friends.
