So after Stalking this place on Facebook for a year I FINALLY got out of my bubble and tried them....The Sea Salt Mocha did not disappoint. It was pretty nostalgic, I felt like I was stepping into my grandma's kitchen eating a piece of fresh chilled flan with homemade caramel sauce with a little cafecito on the side. To my surprise the mocha was not overbearing at all which makes it so great. Since a girl can never make up her mind I had to try a few others.....Banana Pudding is on point none of that fake banana flavoring stuff....This is the real deal, fresh bananas and I mean fresh bananas when I say fresh bananas, not the kind you forget about that people tell you to make banana bread with....those belong in the trash not in baked goods...They got this one right with the taste of perfectly ripened bananas! Oh & let's not Foget the test kitchen "The Millional" I mean "Bae" same thing, right? I really enjoyed this one it was not overpowering with flavor or sugar....The orange zest and cinnamon pecans? were amazing But I may be bias because I am a little nutty! I love how light it was yet you can distinctly taste the flavor. So Don't be basic order you something different or you can be like everyone else and order the Turtle. Either way you won't be disappointed especially when Will deliveres exceptional customer service but it helps that I was an exceptional custmerI'm no food critic but go get you some cheescake, stat at the shack!

I was so excited to try this place, and had really high hopes. My mom ordered the Bae Bae, then later they said they were out of whipped cream, which wasn’t a big deal. I was really looking forward to trying the banana pudding, but they were out of bananas. The other one I wanted to try, Nutella, wasn’t available. So, I asked for the most popular one which was the strawberry. I was so excited that I dug in as soon as I got my order to my car. We were a little surprised when we opened the bag and saw how small these 8 dollar slices were. Then, when I tried to get a piece with my fork, it was hard to slice through. Once I tasted it, I realized why. It was still partially frozen like it was recently pulled out of the freezer. The staff was friendly, and the cheesecake wasn’t bad once it warmed up a bit. I fully intend to give this business another chance. I think we could have just come at a bad time. Or maybe we should go to the shop instead of the shack next time.

WOW, JUST WOW! ... best place in town to eat cheesecake’s PERIOD! ... it’s a bit of a drive for me coming from Denton but WELL worth it! My favorite is the raspberry slice but they have scrumptious flavors all around- I will say it’s a bit pricey but when it comes to GOOD eating, there is no price too high on that. They are awesome, very friendly & very respectful of this whole Pandemic situation we are all going through by keeping it safe all around so I will continue supporting this business and making that drive! it only makes the anticipation that much sweeter ... Don’t believe me, look below .. I mean, c’mon IF WORDS COULD TALK! P.S. they even GAVE me some free choco style tacos - if you know what those are you know what one talking about!!

This is the best cheesecake I've ever had. Better than my mom's famous New York cheesecake, but let's not tell her that. A tiny stand alone, its hard to see. Pictured is the classic cheesecake with blueberry topping. The strawberry is also very good as well. What kills me here are these damn jars they sell. They are literally only $1 cheaper and are half the size of a slice (which is already pricey). What kills me even more is that all their best cheesecakes (lemmon ave!!!) are only ever in these stupid jars. They need to get it together and put their best cakes as slices. But anywho. This place is great. Try it.

Wow. If you’re looking for something to satisfy your sweet tooth craving.. THIS IS IT. I thought this place looked cute so I stopped by and wasn’t disappointed. The turtle cheesecake was — a m a z i n g . Grab this one for sure when you go. All the chocolatey syrups with the textures of the cheesecake made sense as to why I spent $8/slice. The Oreo one was so thick and so delicious. The cheesecake jars are good too but I like the full slice experience. You can’t go wrong with anything here! Pick whatever because you will be returning!

This is my new favorite dessert spot in DFW. The cheesecakes are fresh and taste amazing. We tried the lovers lane (red velvet) and the bae cheesecake. Both were delicacies and overall melted in your mouth. The candied walnuts were probably the best topping I've had in cheesecakes. Also, they're contactless which is huge during the current situation. You order over the phone! I brought the cheesecakes home and everyone loved it! Check out the pictures! Man looka here. This little building is producing some good cheesecakes. They have all kinds of Cheesecake. They have some flavors in a small jar that is good to take the sweet taste out yo mouth after eating too much. I liked the full slices. They are a little pricey but no means cheap in ingredients or taste. I ended up with two slices because I went there to get a strawberry cheesecake but I watched her make the turtle cheesecake. So I got one of those also. Both did not make it to the next day. Go by for a slice (or two).

  • Krys G

The cheesecake was good, a lil crumbly not as smoothly whipped as I hoped but good. It was however very expensive in my opinion and the portion size was not an $8.00 slice of cheesecake, again in my opinion. Only slices are available unless you order in advance for a full size cheesecake. Not sure what their prices are on a full size but if you want to treat a family to a slice of cheesecake you may consider planning ahead. If a family of 5 goes for a sliver of cheesecake it will cost you $48.00 just for dessert....

  • CHLOE CHOE

Best cheesecake in the Dallas area! One of my friends recommended and I finally got to try it today. It was very fresh and the topping high quality than I thought for only 75 cents. All the cheesecake and banana pudding is 7 dollars. I ordered cheesecake with blueberry topping. It was very soft and not too sweet and the right amount. I shared with my boyfriend and he also really liked it. It was located on the road and looks like a small container business but their Instagram was famous already! Great business :)

Had an opportunity to try out Val's and just fell in love with VJB & his staff. I purchased three flavors red velvet, lemmon ave & strawberry classic. My husband loved the strawberry and said, it was the freshest he's ever had in a long time. The lemmon was my favorite as it's a light treat on a hot summer day and coming up in the rear the red velvet made me think of christmas time at my mom's. I will be a returning customer and my co workers can't wait to try the brisket cheesecake real soon.

  • Julie Williams

Called in for an order, prior to their opening time, and left voicemail. One hour bf opening, I received a call back. I had lots of questions and special requests for a delivery of ten jars. The gentleman who helped me was SO NICE, HELPFUL and PATIENT. I asked his name because I wanted to write this review and it was Val himself! My clients reported the cheesecakes were out of this world and so life is good! Keep up the great work, Val's Cheesecakes and thank you for a wonderful experience!

I LOVE THE CHEESECAKES. THE GREENVILLE LOCATION CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT, THE AKARD LOCATION CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE, NOT GREETED, FELT RUSHED AND SHE JUST WASN’T PLEASANT! THIS IS MY SECOND INTERACTION WITH THIS YOUNG LADY AND SHE GAVE THE SAME “NOT INTERESTED” ATTITUDE EACH TIME

Val's is an incredible place to go. He will soon be opening another store on Greenville Ave which is really close to me and I can't wait. He's cheesecake is so good, so many varieties and hard to buy just one. But above all Val and the people who work for him, are so nice and love what they do. They are happy to be doing what their doing and smile from their hearts. Can't wait till November 9 when his store on Greenville Ave opens and I'll be there daily.

Great place!! Hey I had a lot of fun in the cheesecake class. I shared with my family at Sunday dinner today, and they were fighting over every piece!! There was a slice on a plate on the table and the adults were mad about who wasted the cheesecake, then before you knew it, it was gone too. I will always visit when I come to Dallas!! After driving past Val's daily for a year I had to stop and see what this cheesecake shop had to offer. Let me tell you it did not disappointed. For 6$ you can get a mini cheesecake in the cutest little mason jars (that you get to keep) and for 1$ more you get a slice double the size. I'm sure you can guess that I had to splurge and get the big one. It was heavenly. I will definitely be back! And I recommend the Oreo Cheesecakes of good!

  • Jeff Neal

This review is based on the cheesecake class- Sooo much fun! Val, thank you for putting these classes together. I came as a single. As most people came in pairs. The class was fun, knowledgeable. We made a legit cheesecake from scratch. Definitely worth 100$. Everyone receives a 9" cheesecake to take home. I got banana! The staff was nice. I would definitely recommend.

Let me start by saying... well, I really do not like cheesecake. Truly, I don't. My wife and our friends wanted to go there after our lunch date. I am so glad I was not my normal stubborn self. I love carrot cake and they had a carrot cake cheese cake! OMG... they first bite was too much, and the last bite wasn't enough! This is authentic from scratch cheese cake. Not going to try this cheese cake will be a personal loss!

  • Tapan Patel

Tried 3 different small size Cheesecake in mason jar. All 3 flavors were good in taste+texture & sweet just enough to fill up your sweet craving(which is best). Girl on counter explained all flavors well. Felt its bit pricey ($6.49 ea+ little jar is yours). Just an opinion if you have policy to except the jars back on next customer visit & offer some discount price on next purchase to loyal buyers .

  • S W

TINY-VERY OVERPRICED. It's so tiny that she can't put hardly any toppings on it because the jar opening is about the size of 2 quarters. It's to small to enjoy. By the time you start enjoying it, it is gone. On top of it she prices this tiny thing as if you're eating at Pappadeaux's. Almost $8!!! Definitely a fail for me, and I will not be returning. I wish I knew this before coming.

  • Ignacio Galvan

The strawberry cheesecake is creamy with a thick crust. I strongly recommend this place. There is only street parking to access the store, so you may have to walk a bit. The area does have some homeless people, so be cautious if you are alone (ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT). The area was safe during my visit in the day, and I did not encounter any issues. Quality flavor and customer service!

  • Jennifer Huang

Friendly owner/staff and great tasting cheesecake in a little mason jar! For $6 it's on the steep side but it's such a treat to have Val's cheesecake. Our favorites are Salted Mocha and Oreo - not too sweet and packed with flavors! We've tried Blueberry, Lemon, Red Velvet, and Strawberry - to be honest they are all very delicious. Highly recommend - they are addictive :)

Absolutely Awesome And Nothing Less My Boyfriend and I came on his Birthday. when we got there, reading the menu we became indecisive on which Flavors to choose because they all seemed so good. But let me tell you, the 3 Flavors we had as my boyfriend said were creme de la creme. We will be back....(Classic Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, and Turtle)

  • Lonnie Bradley

Some of the absolute best cheesecake both my wife and I have ever had! My only regret is we ate it so quickly that we didn’t take any photos to post here lol. We had the original and the red velvet. We will be back! They had a cooking class going on when we came in and it looked like everyone was having lots of fun. We’ll probably be back to take a class.

  • Corrine Webb

I pulled up 1 minuet before closing after going to the Mavericks game. I was beyond delighted that I was greeted as if I was the first customer of the day.I order 5 jars to share with the fam! I am more than overjoyed with the flavors I picked. Again I am impressed with the quality of service and professionalism that is always delivered!

  • Bob Thorman

First off the cheesecakes are average at best. The ones in the jars are just a rip off. Very small and the jar is just an annoyance. Second, the place is a rat hole in a goofy location. It's just a walk up shack. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Sara Lee at your local grocery store. It will be better in taste and value.

  • Jessie Lewis

I have been going to Val’s Cheesecakes since I moved to Dallas 4 years ago. They cater to everything and anything your tastebuds might want. They have opened up 2 more locations which just allows everyone else to be able to have some of this wonderful desert. Follow them on Instagram to see their specials and new flavors.

  • Varun Jindal

Hidden gem! Simply delicious cheesecakes with a wide variety of flavors. Great for picking up! Prices are a little too steep for the individual pieces but you get to keep the amazing jar it's stored in. Specific parking for Val's is limited. Great unique desserts & the owner (Val) was fun & accommodating!

  • Noble Dan

One of the biggest hidden jewels in the Oak Lawn area. Everytime me and my wife have went to Val's cheesecake we have been surprised with each offering. This time is my birthday and she got me a lemon cheesecake which we we're over halfway through the cheesecake before I thought to do this picture lol.

  • Oak Lawn

I like this place because it's fast and they have lots of different varieties. They also have whole slices of cheese cake as well. To be honest $6 is too much to pay for a small jar of cheesecake but that's just it ... where else are you going to find a jar of cheesecake? It's delicious !! Try it out

  • Cassie Summers

Worth every penny. The Nutella cheesecake will blow you away. They make their own Nutella with a hazelnut liqueur that is to die for. I love how everything is named after places in Dallas too! Super friendly staff and they're always ready to make recommendations! I just wish they were open later!

  • Walid Nabhane

Window serve with some small outside seating or standing to eat a piece of cheesecake. The people are very nice and surprisingly for myself who's not a fan of cheesecake, the "BAE" that I ordered was very good. If you like cheesecakes it is worth a stop. See my picture for the available flavors.

  • Danielle J.

The place is not a sit in setting. The cheesecake was very DELICIOUS! I went close to closing time, so most of the slices were gone. I ended up getting the jar. I will definitely be back and I would recommend this place. FYI-If you are driving and have a heavy foot, you could pass up the place.

  • Jessica Perry

The cheesecakes are fresh, with many yummy flavors to choose from. Go simple and classic with plain or strawberry, or treat yo'self with the Baebae! (Salted chocolate ganache, caramel, vanilla pudding, candied pecans and whipped cream!). Fun, vibrant space, and plenty unique snacks!

  • Maureen E. Barnes

I can't say enough good things about this cheesecake shack! They have so many varieties and every single one we have tried has been great. We usually grab a slice or two to take home although there is a small seating area. You'll see cars double parked out front. It's fun and yummy!

  • Quinn Mercado

The best cheesecake I have ever tasted. My favorite is the Lemmon Avenue cheesecake. They are a little expensive, but this is a small local business. I am happy support this business with the hope they will grow and become a staple of Dallas. Val's Cheesecakes will not disappoint!

  • Dominique Washington

Some of the best Cheesecake I’ve ever had honestly. I placed an order online for a 7 in Lovers Cheesecake and it tasted so fresh. We finished it in a day ordering was easy and picking it up was even easier. 10/10 i would recommend! Will definitely be going back soon. …

  • Kelly DeMartelaere

Love the cheesecake here and buy it often but the young lady working the window right now 01/19/2020 at 3:15PM was the rudest and nastiest person I’ve ever encountered here! If you don’t like you workplace sugar then please exit the building. Time for a new front face Vals!

  • Madison Anderson

This place was absolutely amazing!! The Quality of the cheesecake was superb!! Me and friends enjoyed the wonderful flavors of Greenville Avenue, White chocolate Oreo, Turtle & Pistachio. I enjoyed the outside location I would highly recommend this establishment.

  • katie gomez

I wasn’t happy at all I feel like it is very overpriced small portions it wasn’t good at all very low-quality cheesecake I was so disappointed I got the red velvet cheesecake and The Oreo cheesecake wasn’t impressed at all I will not be going back there

  • Lobaby35

The Banana Pudding Cheesecake is FANTASTIC!! I ordered the small amount in the adorable Mason jars (trying to watch my sugar intake)! The flavor of the cheesecake was AMAZING! I can't wait to come back to Dallas...this will be one of my first stops!!

  • Lee Garner

We visited this place based on a news report. The owner spoke of supporting Black owned businesses. Here's my reiew: Over priced, small quantity, low quality and poor service. I advice anyone- Stay away! I will aways buy from the Cheese Cake Factory!

  • Benetta Ross

Looooooovvvvvveeeeeee this place this was my very first time here and the little lady name Erica was sooooo nice and giving off we all family vibes. Erica gave my some background on the restaurant and I was sold sold I will be back thank you so much

My husband and I went to try and, now we loved it! The staff is so kind and professional Also, the selection of flavors is definitely the best. I read the story and, now understand what the special ingredient is ❤️. 100 STARS …

  • Krys

I'm pretty sure what little faith in humanity I have is hinged on the people who make the banana pudding cheesecake. 2020 may be a dumpster fire, but that cheesecake let's you pretend for just a moment that everything isn't terrible forever.

  • Vanessa Gaeta

I'm from GA and I'm at Dallas for business as well as my partner. We're HIGE foodies and BOY LEMME TELL YOU. We got the strawberry glaze cheesecake & a cookies'n cream one as well. So light, creamy, and soo delicious. Highly recommend 10/10

  • Sonia Cordiva

Hands down, this is my fave cheesecake spot! Staff is always super friendly and quick. They have safety precautions to order, pay, and get your order without contact. Cheesecakes are plain to classic to specialty ones- all super delish!

  • Raj Shah

Highly Recommended! We ordered a custom cheesecake from Val’s, and although it was a bit pricy, the quality of ingredients used, the flavor, and the attention to design detail made it worth it. I would definitely order from here again.

  • Ryan Ward

What can I say. Y’all have it down to an art form. I love cheesecake and this is better than anything I have ever tried. Customer service is top notch you are treated very respectful. Good job. Parking can be tricky but it’s worth it.

  • Alyssa Camacho

Honestly the cutest little cheesecake ever! They're tasty little things. If someone ever asked where to get a cheesecake nearby, I'd recommend this place. The names of the flavors are clever and are cute. They're cute little desserts.

  • Jeff Swigart

Delicious! They have a number of different flavors and I've yet to be disappointed by any. That said, I haven't been brave enough to try the savory options. Any time someone visits us in Dallas, we make a point to let them try Val's.

  • 1994nichelle

Hands down best cheesecake in Dallas! I’m addicted at this point & I’m ok with that. The banana pudding is my go to but the new oatmeal pie cheesecake has also caught my attention. You can’t go wrong with any of the flavors!

Really cool place. Loved the simplicity of the little hut. My only recommendation is that on the cookies and cream jar, I wish the cookie crumbles were at the bottom, it was kind hard to keep it off of my white shirt! :)

  • Denia Leroy

Best cheesecake I have ever had I love it so much. I get the cookies n cream and it tastes so good every time. Good service. And very organized. I definitely recommend going here 10/10 I have had an amazing experience

My husband and I discovered this gem after watching Self Employed on Magnolia. To think, this has been in our backyard this entire time! We both loved our cheesecake jars and will be back to try more flavors.

  • Jess

Love getting cheesecakes here! Their original cheesecake with homemade fruit topping is the best. Our favorite is blueberry cheesecake. I wish they are like a dessert store where we can also sit and eat.

  • C Bruce

$8 for cheesecake is a lot, but I will pay $8 for the rest of my life because this cheesecake is EVERYTHING. The triple chocolate is my favorite and I highly recommend. I will be back again and again.

  • Erin Butler

Absolutely delicious. Ran into this place while on a walk with my boyfriend. Lots of variety. I got the banana and it is significantly better than Cheesecake Factory banana!!!

  • Trevor Pace

My wife thought it was the best cheesecake she had ever tasted. I thought it was the most expensive and overpriced cheesecake I had ever paid for. We were both probably right.

  • bellyache ྉྉྉ

100/5 for the flavor, but what’s up with the size portion??? I paid the same $8.50 for a tiny sliver of cake, it’s so small compared to the other slices, I felt scammed.

  • Rickell Irvin

SO good, just moved to downtown Dallas and this place is dangerously close to my apartment. I will be back. I tried the "Bae" and "Cookies and Creme." Both were amazing!

Awesome cheesecake, great options. I love that it's a walk up stand. The jar kinda small for the price, but the slice is great! I would come back here.

  • Alliyah Edwards

This place was overhyped. The cheesecakes were subpar. They were either ok basic cheesecake you could get anywhere or just awful. Really disappointing

  • Monica Pham

Each one of their flavors are delicious and most of all you get to keep the cute mason jar. Definitely a must try if you love cheesecake. …

  • Jenna Herrington
