Bought a car from vicks Car Sales on 2/10/22. They said it was in full working order and had a FSH. It arrived filthy, with an engine management light on and hadn't been serviced in 6 years. They Ignored my calls, texts and emails. Then car stopped working after 2 weeks and couldn't be driven but they still wouldn't respond. Having to go to court now. Avoid at all costs. Cost of repairs are over £4600.00. Also, AA dealership promise confirmed they are not affiliated with them at all, this partnership ended in July 2022 yet they are still advertising AA on their website to this very day. Warranty Wise said the same. I have reported them to trading standards. AA are taking action against them too. They pretended not to receive my recorded delivery letter regarding the return of this car. They refuse to take the car back, refund me my purchase price of £4999, the delivery of the car £330, the return cost of delivering the car back to them which is £450 or the £198 I have spent at the garage so far. I work for the NHS and rely on my car for my job, so I may lose my job now as I have no car. They are rude when I do speak to them. They are making my life a living hell. The car came to me with a split turbo pipe, substantial oil leaks, 4 worn tyres, no wiper blade, a scratched windscreen, a faulty intercooler, missing bulbs, a lack of brake fluid and also personal items belonging to the previous owner. The car had not been checked or even cleaned / emptied at all. They lie and deceive customers by claiming to be offering warranty wise and AA cover, none of that is at all true. They con customers and then ignore them when they are left without a safe, working car.

I was little sceptical at the start as the car was quite cheap but wanted something reliable for my wife to do the school runs in. I was expecting downfalls due to the price of the car we were looking at. Surprisingly the sale began to go thru because instead of facing downfalls (due to the price of the car) we were actually delighted as it had huge amount of extras which I wasn't expecting on a 2014 model. We also got our asking price for our bmw x3 which we took in for part exchange which was a bonus. I couldn't really see how these guys make their money as they could have easily sold the car to us for a lot more. One of our main reasons for buying that car was because the car had low mileage. On the other end after 23yrs of buying commercial vehicles myself I can say one thing: if you buy a car with really high milage ensure you test drive it & if you find defects afterwards means you didn’t test drive it properly. & if there was nothing wrong on the test drive means the defect came after not before you bought the car & if you do get defects afterwards then blame the high mileage, not the garage like some of the other reviewers on here have done. To prove the point ours was on 43k miles & is defect free, even after we bought it Fantastic experience & sale overall. Only the downfall is the wife now misses the bmw we took in for part ex

How is this garage still allowed to sell cars. There are so many many bad reviews scroll down! Bought a car from them couple months ago and have had nothing but issues with it since. When we bought it there was no warning light on - the next day it came on and have since found out that there are various issues with the car including the engine and is not worth fixing due to the cost of repairs. We have tried contacting them now for days but they are now ignoring our calls. We will be taking this further through the Motor Ombudsman and letting them know how many other awful reviews there are! I’m responding to their reply below…. You never picked our car from our doorstep free of charge? Not sure where you have got that from? We actually drove to you when the problem first happening and you were very rude and very unhelpful. Although it is good to see you are finally acknowledging our issue as you have stopped answering our calls. An absolute joke of a business…selling a new driver an unsafe car! You will be hearing from us in due course

I Purchased a car from them on 4th Dec 2022. it had diesel leak (they may have known about it). I Took the car to them once to repair it, but its still leaking and now its showing Engine failure warning. I requested them to take the car back . But they wont agree. I gave them final warning before taking any legal action and waiting for their reply. They didn't gave any AA approval . I paid for Warranty wise and they issued warranty first which doesn't cover any part that i require to change. if they don't agree to take the car back I will file law suit against them as per consumer law 2015. Just wanted to add an update to the above info. The case is in court and the car is in the service center. I have spent £3000 so far with a failed MOT. The most important part was that they took money from me for warranty and issued warranty. But they never paid for it ,so it was never approved in the first place. Never seen such shameless people. Wondering how they are still allowed to continue doing the business and scam the people.

Incompetent sales company. Communication skills are zero at best. Recently brought a car from here which we had to make multiple calls about to chase up. Happy to take a deposit but not happy to keep you updated with work being done on the car, even when you get to speak to them all they do is talk over you. Wasn’t even notified that the car wouldn’t be arriving on the said delivery date. When the car finally arrived no pride had been taken whatsoever. White car covered in brake dust, dirty finger prints and some yellow and black tape to hold the airbox together. Few disagreements later they had agreed to pay for the car to be valeted which we had quoted however we are far from shocked that the money hasn’t been transferred over. Wouldn’t recommend dealing with them and the AA will be notified. I’m not sure how they’re an AA approved dealer. Shocking, save yourself the hassle and take your money elsewhere! I’d like to state this isn’t a fake review, we have photos of the car and proof of all the phone calls made.

My wife brought a Audi TT on Father’s Day of this year for a Surprise for me and because she don’t drive they did a video call and showed her around the car and all look fine until She had the car on the drive when i had a look around the car we noticed faults ie cut and worn tires on all 4 wheels which cost me £500 for 4 new ones that had to be fitted on my drive that same day a faulty back seat that didn’t lock and cost me £250 for a new hinge because it was bent. worn window wipers and one missing that I had to replace and now we have got the payout £2000 for a whole new gearbox that’s got to go to a auto transmission specialist to be fix as it can’t be repaired by my own garage which that was advised by the RAC since having this car all it’s done is cost me money and trouble dont by a car from these

We bought a used Citroen from Vicks the other week. The sales chap was very helpful, explained the car's history, and obviously we took for a test drive etc. We liked the car, bought it and took it home. However, within 24 hours, the car developed some engine faults that weren't there on testing. We spoke to Vicks, and they were very understanding, agreeing to take the car back. We were happy with this, as we appreciate some used cars develop faults in time. What stood out was that Vicks didn't argue or quibble at all when we wanted to return the car, and they dealt with the situation very well. I've been to some main dealers where the customer service wasn't as good as this, so full marks to Vicks.

If I could give zero I would. Absolute disgrace of a garage. They are NOT AA approved as their website and forecourt suggests, even their office has a banner in it. But when I contacted the AA for help as I have been sold a dangerous and a car that is categorically not road worthy, I am told that they aren't actually affiliated at all. It is a complete scam. They are in no way understanding of their customers needs, sold a car that had categorically not had all the required checks and has cost me £1300 in repairs within ONE MONTH of buying it. My only option now is to take them to small claims court. Which I will be doing starting today. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAMMERS

  • Chris Browning

Bought a skoda fabia in March and had nothing but problems with it. Engine light came on whilst travelling home after buying it and to be fair they eventually paid up for the repair 4 days after saying they would. After just 2 months the steering wheel locked up whilst driving it meaning that it was twice in two months I had the RAC out. Last week the timing chain went and it's being scrapped tomorrow. When I have called them about the problems they have argued back that the car I part exchanged for £400 was faulty despite me explaining it hadn't had a service in a long time and had one months MOT remaining. Just avoid at all costs

  • Katie Wellington

Went to view a 2011 Clio, "passed all MOT, No issue with the car AT ALL" posted for £1999. so we arrive and within 10 minutes we find a massive amount of flaws. NO WAY did this car pass any MOT, in no way is that car road legal. Not only that but when we asked about the flaws to do with the car the salesman argued with us over a double time flashing blinker. Not about the front lights not working AT ALL, bumper not put on the car properly, the rust, the air in the break line, the fact that the battery was exposed... I could go on. Do not rate this place AT ALL. Complete scam.

  • Maria Giovanna Pintori

Bought a car which was kindly delivered out of the range, but I understand why. Full of faults which, just some of them, really 2 of 8, were mention after a very bad communication and only after gave the deposit and waiting for the car, not giving me the time to think properly. Still trusted the company and made a mistake. After not even a month the car starts slowly to break in literally pieces. This autotrader is a SCAM! And don’t pls consider the warranty which not covered anything!

  • J Lawr3t

Purchased a car from them, they clearly reset the diagnostics as the engine light came on after 30mins driving but didn't show up when it was delivered. Indicator light on the wing mirror was off, and the tyre was flat the next morning. Took it to get fixed and found the rims were cracked. Disappointing as it seems that all these used dealers do often, they care about a quick flip for profit and couldn't care less about the customer.

  • Jade Ball

We have bought a used car yesterday. The guy who delivered it was very nice and polite but the car we got has faults that we didn't noticed before paying for it. One of the windows was stuck shut and not attached to the motor so the car is not secured. The passenger side front headlamp is cracked. The heater fan does not work too. It is a bit of our fault that we didn't check properly but we trusted the company.

  • Edgar McCorquodale

Would not trust this garage at all, left a de[posit for a range rover but found a better one elsewhere, at present still trying to get the deposit back, no joy. the guy wont answer the phone. is this what the aa approve. trading standards next for you, then auto trader then the aa. you are a rip off merchant. you dont even deserve 1 star Edgar
