We were sent to this hospital under false information. A doctor at North Park Private Hospital emergency hospital gave us a choice of 2 private hospitals to choose from to be transferred to for more tests after performing a blood test and informing us that my mother might have had a mini heart attack. We had supplied them with our Cardiologists name and GP. When we asked if we could go to Epworth Private Hospital in Richmond because that's where our cardiologist practices the emergency doctor answered "your cardiologist is also at Warringal and another private hospital in Parkville". We believed him and agreed to go to Warringal as it was closer. When we arrived at Warringalby ambulance and asked for our cardiologist we were informed that he does not practice here andmy mother will be assigned to a new cardiologist. In addition to this my mother was put into a room with no windows, she refused to stay in that room and requested to be transferred to Epworth Private Hospital. The nurses on duty said no you will not be transferred, you are going to stay here. There was a particular nurse on duty that evening who was very rude and pushy. When my mother explained that she suffers from claustrophobia she was given a bed next to a window. Those 4 days were horrible, my mum couldn't sleep because of the uncomfortable pillows and when she complained a night nurse replied with "your lucky you are here, there are kids sleeping in the streets". On another night when she asked for a different pillow the nurse in charge said " i'm not going to keep bringing you different pillows all night". My mother stayed in hospital for 4 days and went through 4 heart test under a new cardiologist. The cardiologist changed all her medication. When she was discharged we promptly made an appointment with my Mums Gp. This is where we realised that this hospital did not once contact my mothers gp or her cardiologist to get her history. If they had contacted her cardiologist she would not have had to stay in there for that long or have to go through all these unneccessary test. All this was a money making exercise from the moment we went to the Emergency department at North Park and they sent us to this hospital because they have an agreement. They made money on the 4 night my mum stayed in hospital. They made money on the medication they changed ( it was the same medication she was taking but from different companies), the cardiologist made money from a new patient and god know how much money they made on the 4 or 5 unnecessary heart tests they performed on my mum. By the way my mum is 88 years old. Shame on the private hospital system being reduced to a money making machine, with no regards for patients. The worst 4 days of my life. I still can't believe that they didnt contact my mums doctors!!! Disgusted.... stay away from North Park Hospital and Warringal Hospital.

(P.S. VERY sorry, Giselle, that I didn't notice how "tentative" the seal was on the package of my "take-home" sandwich, thereby causing it to fall out somewhere between the Post-op recovery room, from which you led me out of the hospital, and my ride home). And thanks to my very informative, and very professional and adept Anesthesiologist Dr. Ip (who has great taste in movies; Wes Anderson was ROBBED this year for Oscar nominations, Doc!); and, of course, to my surgeon, Mr. Dhir (man: I feel like _I_ just won an award). Also: the Ramsay Health Care lady was very helpful as well! BEST HOSPITAL IN MELBOURNE, bar none; and BEST NURSING STAFF in Southern hemisphere! POST NOTE: It's been over a year, and I just had another "day surgery" procedure (modesty forbids me from giving details, but it involved cameras inside the body), and...once again, GREAT treatment by all of the regular staff on duty -- from check-in, to preparations -- but I wanted to say thanks to Giselle (hope the name is correct) who was on the procedure team this time. She actually remembered me and asked how I was doing after the long-ago hernia operation. Very kind of her (and, very kind of her not to have mentioned by rambunctious behavior, last time she was helping out). Sorry I didn't remember you at the moment, M'am, but I was operating on too little sleep. :)

I would have given this 5 stars had it not been for the experience I had at the end of my stay. I had a major surgery and let me tell you the nurses were AMAZING. I had paid out of pocket and paid for 5 nights but the minimum stay was 3 nights. After my 2nd night in hospital after a major surgery- the cleaner woke me and said "Is this your last day" I said no and thought nothing of it. Then this lady came in who I'd never seen before and advised she ran the ward and that I was leaving today. Bear in mind I was still on a drip and had not been given the opportunity to see if I could take in fluids. I was still really groggy but said that my minimum stay was for 3 nights which would mean I would go home the next morning. She then came in with my surgeon in an effort to push me out . He said I could go home today or tomorrow putting emphasis on tomorrow. The nurse was there for this and said to me that she didnt think I was ready to go home. As i was only cleared to drink fluids late the previous day it wasnt possible to tell if i would be ok to leave. THEN they sent in my discharge medications!!! Anyway i felt really unwelcome and decided to be discharged. The last nurse helping me was amazing but then handed over to this Male nurse andy. She asked he walk me out to meet my mum as i didn't know where to go. When I asked he said " what , do you need a wheelchair or something, cant you walk?" Didnt take me to the carpark it was 38degrees and I got lost as wasn't sure I was in the right place etc..... after my amazing experience previously to have ot ruined on the last day by this woman and Male nurse left a bad taste in my mouth. Over $900 per night to be treated like that when I was still groggy from surgery....and I still havent received my refund. I have only now just recuperated enough to write this review. A sign that I was not ready to leave prematurely. I don't want this to discount the amazing work of numerous staff who leave me speechless with thier level of care and service . But this needed to be said.

Go somewhere else! I paid as a private patient so $2500 a night. My gosh some staff try really hard despite limitations but others are just LONH. (Lights on, no-one home.). Physio was awesome. I was bed ridden I had had spinal surgery so they had the forsight to fit a catheda. By the time the second night came I was still in a bed wearing a night dress from the previous day covered in blood stains. It came time to retire for the night and I asked about cleaning my teeth. I wasn't bothered by being left to sleep because my question was met with a blank smile and giggle. I asked how did other bed ridden patients clean their teeth and was told they use basins. I said pardon which was met with the nurse running around to come back with two denture bowls and some mouthwash. Another nurse came in to attempt to assist, I asked if all other bed ridden patients were left unshowered and unable to bath as it seemed like I had opened Pandora's box. Not sure if the lack of management's plan involves hiring Arnold Schwartsneger to film a comedy there, but it continued 3 days later when I called back asking (the head ward nurse) about medication that had been added to my regime during my stay that had then seemingly been removed and kind of lost it at the head nurse who proceeded with guesses for the reason a medication might be missing.from those I was discharged with. I can guess! My 10 year old grandson could offer guesses. I had the dosage amount of 100 mg I knew the approximate name started with Cel or Cet ended in ex. I also knew it wasn't an opiod. Also knew it was a white capsule with bands of light blue around the ends. Oh gee the day surgery nurse knew what it was. She bothered to listen and explained that celebrex is often just.prescribed as a temporary medification for 3 days. Not just "maybe" your doctor discontinued it. "Maybe"

My experience wasn’t the greatest that’s for sure. First part of my procedure was done in radiology that was very good, caring doctor and the most beautiful nurse Nil was her name. Taken back to my room for an overnight stay . They were told l could have something to eat and drink at 3pm. Well by 5pm l gave up asking for something as it was nearly dinner time . Staff from kitchen had come to take my order for dinner and breakfast . So l waited and spoke to the nurse who had said dinner was on its way as l was hungry as you can imagine seeming l had nothing to eat or drink since 6am in the morning. By 6.30 l still didn’t have any dinner and l was starving l asked again , to the nurses surprise also that l hadn’t had anything. Another nurse came in an asked me if l would like a sandwich to which l replied no. So l finally received a meal at 7pm which l have to say was disgusting. I think they put whatever was left in the microwave it was that dried out , it was horrible. I’m sorry very poor service for a private hospital. Also as nice as the nurses were l had one that was going to get me some Mylanta for my reflux . Well l never seen her with that either very disappointed as l did ask another nurse also but no go. Well the one positive was the night nurse who asked me how l was by this time l had a lovely headache. She gave me some Panadol and a lovely cup of tea. The same in the morning more Panadol and another cup of tea. To bad l didn’t receive just a little bit of the care earlier. So sorry to leave a review like this but they need to know. People pay a lot of money for private hospitals and private health cover. Also the cleaning leaves little to be desired the bathroom really wasn’t the cleanest either.

My mother is an 82 year old very frail woman. After having undergone a procedure yesterday, I visited her last night. She was in good spirits and seemed to have been recovering well. Last night at approximately 3am, she had a fall whilst walking to the toilet in her room. She had been quite heavily sedated. The bars keeping her in bed were down, therefore she was not prevented from getting up. A staff member informed us that the bars are not used as some patients attempt to climb over them. My mother can barely walk. This is a lame excuse for failing in their duty of care. The hospital played down the fall by stating she had only grazed her elbow. When I visited her today, I noticed a mark on her forehead. She had obviously fallen heavily despite the claim by hospital staff. Today, she is incoherent and extremely unwell. A CT scan to her brain revealed 'apparently' nothing. She exclaimed to me she feels that she is dying. I rang the hospital this evening and was very polite when I inquired how my mother is. The member of staff who took my call 'Mariam', was rude, defensive and obnoxious throughout the call. She defensively informed me that she had been cared for all day. My sister, who spent the day with my mother has informed me that she was barely attended to the entire day. I am appalled by the lack of care and responsibility the hospital is accepting when it comes to their negligence. If my mother survives the next few days, I will bring her home and be sure to never have her admitted to Warringal Private Hospital in future. She is not receiving anywhere near the level of care one would expect from a private hospital.

I parked at the carpark (which had no sign saying patients were not permitted there) to drop my dad for a 2pm admission. When i parked, i was rudely told to leave and that there were clear signs everywhere in the carpark that patients werent permitted - there were no such signs. So i left with my dad and dropped him off on the side of the street as there was no where else to park and he walked to the entrance. I then called around 7pm to check if his surgery had finished. I was told he was last on the list and the surgery was to start at 5 so obviously it hadnt finished. That was fine. I called again at 9pm to be told that they had no idea and would put me through to the ward that he was meant to be at. No one answered the phone. I called again at 9.30 - feeling really worried because i hadn't heard a single thing about my dad for hours and i was told by his ENT specialist that his procedure was meant to go for 1 hour. I told the receptionist (She said her name was Robyn) - sorry for bothering you again but you put me through to the ward and no one picked up and im just calling again to find out about my dad. She had a horrible attitude and told me the nursing staff werent just sitting there waiting for the phone to ring and that she couldnt tell me anything about my dad. I understanding she would not know but she could have been more understanding and kind about the situation. I was neither rude nor disrespectful - i was kindly asking for some help locating my dad and to see if he was okay after surgery. I still have not heard how my dad is. No one made contact to tell me. Im sitting here at home worried sick!

On Saturday 8 October I arrived at Warringal Private Hospital at 2.45pm to visit my partner. As I walked by the front desk the reception stopped me and said, “I have to talk to you.” I waited while she finished her phone call hoping that nothing had happened to my partner. When she finished she said in a loud voice for everyone to hear, “Visiting hours are from 3 to 8.” I said, “I was told I could come in early.” She replied, “Well you can't” and then continued with “You see all these people, they have to wait till 3 so you will also have too.” All this loudly so everyone could hear and see me getting a telling off. Now I know that sometimes procedures change but this can be communicated in a pleasant respectful way as I would expect from hospital frontline staff. I, like most people, find having a family member in hospital a worrying time and the last thing I need is to be confronted by an officious, overbearing, abrasive person with no customer service skills. It added to an already stressful situation. I note that most of your bad reviews are about your staff on reception and it doesn't seem like anything has changed so I don't expect too much from this feedback, However,I feel strongly enough to put this in writing. You might want to send your staff to the Austin to see how they deal with people coming in. Their visitor admissions procedure is more rigorous than yours but carried out in a polite respectful way. Failing that you may want to visit your local Coles or Woolworths supermarket where the staff are helpful, friendly and polite.

I’m honestly not sure how many stars to rate it. I’ve recently had surgery there and came away with really mixed feelings. From the start admin staff were great.. nursers pre surgery we’re great. Doctors and theatre staff were great. Once I got put into a room I’d say I was a bit disappointed. Not once was I asked how my pain was.. I was asked how my shower was when I had one. Anytime someone came into my room to take obs they were in a hurry. I’d have to ask for all my pain relief and they would get it fairly quickly when I asked.. but they’d also give it to me in a hurry. My pain wasn’t under control at all never once did I feel ok with my pain. When the staff member was doing hand over I could hear her saying that I was comfortable.. had she actually asked me she would of know that wasn’t true. Over night I did ask for more pain relief and she said that’s all I can give you. I don’t believe that was true but ok fair enough no offer for ice pack or heat pack to make me more comfortable.. I’m not a complainer but I almost wish I had of said something. Before I left I believe a gentleman nurse over heard my conversation to my husband whilst I was on the phone explaining how I was in pain and he actually asked is there anything I can get you?! Which was nice and he did get me more pain relief. I understand places being short staffed and all if this is the reason for the poorly service.. but a smile and being kind can go a long way. My 4 stars are for pre surgery and during.

I wished there is 0 star for the hospital.the surgeon and anaethist are amazing but facilities are old. The front receptionist downstairs specially the old blond with glass is so rude.her name is robin.I was trying to show her that I got 2 phones from the nurse upstairs that I need to come back because my mum has language barrier. Instead of calling northern recovery, she bloody called the transit lounge and get me to wait. After waiting for an hour, I tried to check and all she said is wait and she called before. I understand they are busy. I didn't complain I was given the wrong information about surgery time was 9 instead of 8. We waited until 12:45 to have surgery. I don't complain because things can change or happen but I am upset about her attitudes. She seems really nice and helpful to other white customers.she called around etc. she didn't even bother to let me finish my saying.i feel that she is racist.guess what? They called me again and said they have waited for me for over one hour. I asked her to speak to receptionist directly while the nurse was calling me. How hard for her to call nurse and that is her job. She even laughed at me in front of the other young receptionist collegue. She made me feel stupid. What make you think I will harrasse you for nothing? I work in healthcare as professional as well. I will never go back.there are plenty private hospitals.no more here next time!

Mixed feelings. The admission process was smooth and staff attentive. Rooms clean and neat. However post surgery was a shambles: 1. Poor to non existent communications between staff. My bag went to wrong ward and it took 5 hrs and multiple requests (in the end demands) to obtain it. In the end it was me who solved the ward mix up mystery, 2. As others have noted, poor response times to nurse calls. 10 minutes before a nurse came to attend to my knocked out cannula with me bleeding/weeping everywhere making mess in bedsheet, hand and remote control. Only a partial clean up. 3. Nurse had no idea how to do ECG. Print out torn up multiple times, friends called in, perplexed with the leads and at one stage I was assessed based on previous patients ECG printout therefore requiring a reassessment 20 min later! 4. Poor catering staff dont know if you're fasting or not. I received a meal only to have it taken away. Also, don't bother filling out the redundant menu choices - you get what you're given. 5. Discharged with overpriced medications. Ibuprofen and paracetamol at 1.5 to 2 times supermarket or discount chemist price. 6. A guessing game at end with regard to my pre-surgery x-rays. "Maybe they have gone back to surgeon's clinic". 7. I had to tell nurses I needed 1 more iv antibiotic before discharge. They had no clue. All in all, nursing staff caring but a mixed bag re competency.

Rude and abrupt pre admission receptionist. Not surprised at all others have commented the same on here. No customer service skills whatsoever. Short, blunt and could not wait to get me off the phone. I called today to respectfully get information for an upcoming procedure and was met with this hostile thing on the other end of the line who has complete disregard for people and their sensitive issues. I demanded to speak with a supervisor as I didn’t appreciate the way she was talking to me (the supervisor was lovely and very pleasant to deal with) but in transferring my call, the silly woman was stupid enough to giggle and talk to her colleagues about me thinking I can’t hear anything. This is the first and last time I will ever choose this hospital. I have had many dealings with the private health system over the years, although not perfect I have never had anyone behaving like this. I am not sure what criteria you follow to hire staff, but if this person was working under me, they would be fired. There are plenty of people unemployed looking for a chance and yet you have people like this holding these positions, it’s absolutely unbelievable and sad.

Terrible post operative care. I was there to pick up my wife, they discharged her eventually hours after the supposed time after her post operation wound bled all over the place and while they were apparently going to change her dressing and sheets I found the nurse had disappeared and was texting on her phone, while my wife was lying in cooling blood. Eventually they changed the dressing without anyone looking at the bleeding. She was supposed to get an xray but again said nurse disappeared. Eventually I found someone to take her for her xray, who left her in a corridor in great pain as the xray people hadn't been informed. By the time they wheeled her back and told us someone would be back to take her to the car, it was 2.30, of course nobody came so I had to take her myself. The worst thing was her wound was still bleeding, rang the hospital later that afternoon who told us to go to our local hospital emergency because of the risk of infection. Horrible horrible experience, post op, having to sit around emergency for hours. Shocking experience.

I was admitted for day surgery for a chronic pain in procedure on 21/12/2023 I was a bit taken aback when we were told to walk to the pre procedure room which was a fair distance from reception, no one bothering to ask if anyone needed assistance as some were elderly The post surgical care by the nurse at the time of recovery was terrible and basically non existent She seemed like she couldn’t care less whether you were in pain or not and would rather not have been there When I expressed that I was still in pain her answer was “well I’ve done all I can for you and walked off “ She was not at all helpful in assisting me to do things that I was having difficulty with due to still recovering and in significant pain and just stood there watching as I struggled When going home I was still very shaky after heavy sedation, no offer of a wheel chair or her arm to steady me , she just walked in ahead of me with no interest to see if I was ok Not at all impressed with this hospital and I would never choose to go there again

BAD BAD BAD SERVICE NEVER GO THERE !!!!!!!! My father is in the hospital now ,we came to see him and for the three hours we spent with him not once did a nurse come into the room to see how he was, no one .After going to the nurses station to find out results of a test I was told that hand over was happening and a nurse would be in soon ,the nurse that came to the door didn't walk into the room she was horrible not a nice thing about her,she was cold and started telling us that they didn't have any results but we are monitoring his heart, "NO YOU ARE NOT" how can you do that if he is not connected AND HASN'T BEEN FOR OVER THREE HOURS. My mother was told the doctor would ring her this morning well she is still waiting. As for the service of a private hospital I will not give it any stars . If I had a choice of a private hospital, I would NOT go there .I have been to many private hospitals and the service or lack of service here was appalling. I had to give it one star to post this not happy !!!!!!!

Poor atmosphere for very sick people sometimes. I was visiting recently and witnessed a very inappropriate / almost bullying behaviour by the nurse in charge of the ward. Well she went back to her office. She is so so sharp with staff in front of patients. It happened again recently. I am quite surprised and wish my friend was not staying in this hospital. It is not good for his mental health considering the state he is in. Apparently it is not a one off event according to him. What is this in a hospital...It's quite sad and surprising that the admin nurse would act poorly when they are supposed to set the standard. Anyway best to avoid being a cancer patient in this hospital if possible. Find some where that has a less hostile tone. It has does some lovely, very kind and caring and skilled nursing staff but some really disgusting inappropriate ones who it appears in this instance to be the nurse in charge of the ward as I discovered. Wow. This would not happen in my job.

  • Shahmani Edmund

I had my first ever surgery and hospital stay here and I cannot express how wonderful this hospital is. Every person from my surgeons/surgical team and nurses on the ward, to the cleaners and caterers, I was well taken care of and treated with compassion and dignity, and also given autonomy as the patient with regards to my recovery (obviously with guidance from within my doctor's framework). A good sense of humour was prevalent amongst my nurses, which always helps lift your mood as a patient.....even when they were obviously busy and sometimes short staffed, I was never made to feel like I was ever any trouble. The Nurse (Anita) on the night of my surgery was so kind to my husband who had to wait longer than anticipated in the ward for me to come out of recovery. The room was so clean, new, and spacious. I was incredibly nervous, but I honestly couldn't imagine having had a better experience. Thank you to the amazing team at Warringal, I will be forever grateful.

  • Courtney Nichols

Staff member on the day prior to my surgery was rude & abrupt when discussing my private health cover, kept cutting me off when I would try and speak. Staff member who called me with my admission times gave no details on where I needed to go on the morning of. Reception staff took my name & told me to take a seat was then another 45 minutes before being spoken to. Nurses before my surgery were lovely, however the nurses after were rude and dismissive of my pain levels & other issues. I was a self funded patient & upon leaving I checked with reception if the payment had been received to which I was rudely told they couldn’t tell me & I would get a bill if it hadn’t been received, offer to email a receipt of the payment, was told no.. not very reassuring when you have just paid 6k for subpar care across the board. I will avoid this hospital for any future care.

  • Peter Jones

My wife, who has stage IV NSC Lung Cancer has used this hospital on several occasions. The nurses are fantastic, many of the doctors are first rate and empathetic, and there is a genuine feeling of ease and calm about the hospital. The staff is regular, not a huge turn over. I have even met some nurses in the street who remembered my wife some 12 months after going there. We had one bad experience, a nurse who seemed to be drunk or on drugs or something, she was stumbling over things. We reported this and that was it. No more problems ever. Very responsive head nursing staff. I have heard nothing but good reports from others who have had the unfortunate luck to have had to use their hospital facilities. I am not so sure what it is like today since the expansion. It may have lost some of its small hospital feel.

  • J

The hospital seems to have a lot of young nurses that are not trained properly in their job, making mistakes, bickering and leaving you with out toilet facilities when you cannot move. Just terrible. I trust the senior staff who were on the critical ward during that part of my stay. They were confident and made me feel safe. Overall, I think I would avoid having surgery in this hospital now. Unfortunately, it has gone from good to fair standard of care. Maybe they are cutting costs or something. I don't understand since 3 members of my family have had very good care in the past. My response Sorry I cannot endorse this private hospital anymore! I don't need to hear anymore Administration excuses where they try to placate clients. The damage is done. What are you going to do. Pat my back, return my money?

  • Cameron Smith

Some staff are amazing others are average. Hospital needs a better maintenance team or they need to allocate some money to maintenance department. air conditioning doesn't work. Also they really need to work on the food, we all know hospital food is horrible, but this hospital got the kitchen to make itself a whole new category of the worst crud food you can get. Overall opinion. Hospital and staff think that we are there to make their lives easier. For the money you pay to stay in a private hospital they should be treating you like your in a 5* hotel But they seem to forget how fricking expensive it is to be there. Also nurses if you don't like your job then quit yes were all needy we just got cut open and we're in pain, so stop complaining that we're all so needy

  • Rachelle Potts

Can not complain about the doctor or the staff that looked after my husband with his surgery. There was a long wait until surgery was conducted and did not get back to his room until after 9pm, where I was eagerly waiting for his return. After being settled into his bed and rudely asked by the nurse looking after him , “where are you staying tonight?” To which I replied “I have accomodation”. To be then told by her that visiting hours are finished and the duty staff will be around to kick you out! Have never met such a heartless nurse and feel sorry for my husband having to stay in her care until her shift is finished... She needs to have compassion and some personality, which she clearly lacks in.

  • L Zheng

I had a minor surgery done here and the post surgery care and consultation was atrocious. I had to suffer and be bedridden for a week when if they consulted me appropriately, I would have been up on my feet not fully recovered but at least able to start work in 48 hours. I was not told how to deal with the swelling, sleeplessness and not prescribed the correct medication. Pre surgery they pretend to show care and concern because you haven’t paid. After you pay their hospital fees, they dump you like a used tissue paper. Very very bad management and staff. Never opt for this hospital to have your surgery done. I would not even award a star but to put in a review you had to award at least 1.

  • Teagan Downing

The admissions receptionist was extremely rude 6/12 12:30pm. I understand that different hospitals have different rules on visitors right now but it does not excuse they way she spoke to me whilst dropping my partner off for his surgery today. I left in tears after being belittled by her. Completely different to the experience we had at Monash private earlier this week who were absolutely lovely and allowed support persons. EDIT: Called to find out when I needed to pick my partner up again receptionist was rude and unhelpful however the nursing staff were absolutely beautiful. Once transferred to the ward the nurses were helpful and friendly to talk to.

  • Ami Pellegrino

Reception staff lacked empathy and compassion. Had our young 3 year old toddler going in for an overnight surgery and they refused to let both parents in to wait pre surgery, we were told we’re only allowed in for visiting hours 3-8PM. Surgery was booked in for 7am.. Had to request to speak with supervisors to get alternate answers and explain the situation to try make it less traumatic of an experience for our 3 year old. In the end we were both allowed in pre and post surgery, however remarks and whispering behind counter continued throughout the day from particular reception staff who again showed zero compassion in a stressful time.

I had nose surgery and stayed only one night. Day shift nurses best staff and night shift nurse her name Claire . I called nurse cause I was in pain. She came and behaving rude with me and telling me you should sleep this and that. She put wound tape on my nose hardly and it was so painful for me. She is nurse before she start shift she should walk through all the rooms and tell patient if they are sleeping in wrong position. She was sitting outisde without checking back in rooms . I already reported to manger did not know he took strict action against her or not . I am writing this it won’t happen to anyone else.

First ever stay in a hospital and it exceeded expectations. Amazing hard working and attentive staff on Boyd ward could not have been better. Beautiful quiet comfortable room and private bathroom. The body conforming mattress greatly appreciated over my 5 night stay spent sleeping on my back. Catering was also excellent with staff available to discuss daily menus and adjust to personal meal preference. Great place to recover quickly. Surgeon, anaesthetist and supporting staff were all first class and took time to explain procedures and choices. Surgeon took time to visit daily with updates during recovery.

  • Timothy Redrup

Very Covid Safe, the online check in process is straightforward. Once you arrive there the inperson checkin is very quick and efficient. The staff are all very caring and professional. The private rooms are well equipped and spacious. And most have a pleasant tree filled view. The food was excellent with sufficient choice, the Salmon and white sauce and salad was a standout. I never had long to wait for attention from a nurse, and they are very efficient, and Warringal seems to have the nurse to patient ratio just right. I hope not to be a patient again, but i would choose this Hospital over any other.

  • Dale Gunning

I spent a week in this hospital back in January the and am about to go in again in a couple of weeks for further treatment. I found the staff to be very polite and friendly. They could not do enough to help me. I felt very unwell after my procedure. And they kept a close eye on me They even admitted me the day before because I had to travel to get here. The only thing I would say is it would great if they could give you your Admission time a week before your admission rather the the night before to give you time to plan travel for those that have to travel to get here over all great experiences

  • Claudia Sterling

The staff and doctors were great. However, the hospital is let down dramatically by their kitchen. I was an inpatient after knee surgery and never had an edible meal. I have a mild reaction to MSG. I ordered Beef Strogonoff this was crossed off my order by the kitchen and instead they wrote grilled chicken. When the meal came it was dry inedible crumbed chicken. Another dinner Grilled chicken came with 2 dry pieces of chicken no sauce no gravy no vegetables and no salad. This hospital is owned by Ramsay Health they should look at the kitchen at Donvale Rehab and try to copy this in Warringal

I was in for gastric surgery and spent the first night in ICU being taken care of a lovely lady named Carolyn. I stayed in Boyd ward where all the nurses, Chris, Mel, Jillian and others whom I'm sorry I can't remember the names.I was only there for 3 nights, and they made the stay comfortable. Only down side was that I was on a liquid diet and I got a banana shake 3 times. I hate fake banana flavouring. I found the catering staff very nice also and the doctors that stopped by and the physio. Thank you all for the pleasant experience it made it worth the money I paid.

  • Saeedeh Bahreh

I’ve done septorhinoplasty at Warringal hospital and I can not say enough how good the nurses and the Doctors are at this beautiful private hospital. They’re professional and nice as they made it possible for me to do the surgery as I have a five-month-old baby who was only breastfeeding and not taking the bottle, they help me a lot with that situation and they let my baby and my hubby stay with me overnight. I just want to say a huge Thanks to all the staff at warringal hospital, you guys definitely deserve more than five stars.

  • Lorraine Hétu Manifold

My surgery went very well. The surgeon was highly skilled. In addition, the hospital is clean and well kept. I was in the Roberts Ward. The private rooms are great, well designed and lots of space with chairs and a sofa for guests. The bed is extremely comfortable and modern. And then, the best part is all the staff: the nurses are so friendly, caring, knowledgeable and competent. Sam, Alex, Rachel and Jordie were so helpful. I was so well taken care of that I’d definitely choose Warringal if I ever need hospitalisation again.

  • jim n

I had to have a colonoscopy done at Warringal. I was a bit apprehensive after I read a few negative reviews here particularly about the treatment by the nurses. I'm happy to report that my experience has been excellent. Online admission makes the actual admission faster. Staff, nurses and doctors were super friendly and on top of their game. The only issues is was that a number of people had to wait for over an hour in a common area while dressed down and wearing hospital gowns, but then it promotes a bit of bonding.

  • Leo

I had the worst experience with this clinic and Mr Garewal. After 3 years and 2 surgeries plus spending thousands of dollars, he couldn't fix my shoulder, and every I visited him with my pain he would say "I've done my job"! I pushed myself with exercises and physio, but no luck. Now I have to find a surgeon for my other shoulder because of compensating too much. There was no care or follow up despite bleeding and complications after the surgery. I definitely do not recommend this hospital and their service

  • James Gillam

I called up with some questions about visiting my friend in hospital (given that legally there is no longer any obligation for hospitals to disallow visitation) and rather than apologetically explaining why I can't visit my friend who is in need of support, the woman at reception was one of the most capricious and rude people I've ever had the displeasure of speaking to. I get that things are different and difficult during Covid, but speak with kindness and charity, not arrogance and disdain.

  • Michele Gaca

Admitted for surgery with overnight stay. Presented at 8am to be on IV drip for pm surgery. Sat for over an hour before anyone approched us/spoke to us, finally on drip 2 hrs later so didn't get as hydrated as required. 2xObs equipment faulty, wheel chair broken, bag stand broke preop, honestly scared stiff before I went under. A Ramsay Health hospital. Food really bad too (Epworth could show them a better system). No reflection on my surgeon but will never go near this place again sorry.

  • Heather J Porter

I recently had cause to be admitted to Warringal Private hospital for surgery, for the eighth time. I have nothing but praise for everyone that I came in contact with, from reception, admission, pre-op, recovery and on the ward. My last four operations have been during Covid and whilst all hospitals have experienced staff shortages I never once felt neglected or rushed. The staff on Roberts ward were caring, compassionate and friendly. Thank you to all who made my stay bare able.

  • Alison Sharpe (Yarrabee Farm)

A very well run hospital. Had bypass surgery, was up the next day and on day 3 was encouraged to wear out their carpet. Surgeon must be the best most experienced in the country and it shows in the amazing short recovery. Calm efficient and caring, all the nursing staff are well trained professionals. I witnessed the way they managed a patient with Alzheimer's and at all times they were calm and respectful. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been treated here. Thank you.

  • kris degiorgio

Thank you , yet again for taking the best care of my children. In the last month I have had my now 13yo and tonight my 5 year old in and you guys are just amazing. Amongst all staff I would really like to thank Anne / Annie in Boyd ward you really know how to make any mother and little boy welcome and we'll looked after. So thank you to you all and shout out to Anne from the one and only Jai. You guys are just incredible. Kindly and thankfully Kristy Degiorgio Kindly

  • Rahul Chakrabarti

Having worked as a doctor at major tertiary hospitals in Melbourne I was extremely disappointed in my experience as a patient. I had abdominal surgery necessitating a brief admission. Nursing quality was highly variable, poor handover between shifts resulting in poor understanding of what medications had been given, lack of empathy and care to the individual. Poor communication with family. Theatre staff were excellent. However, a lot can be improved here.

  • Nardine Elzahaby

My 2 year old son had a preauricular sinus removal and flap. Staff were very supportive, patient and understanding. Nurses were very helpful. Dr Tony Leaver, paediatric anaesthetist was a wonderful man, spent time discussing anaesthetic before operation, made my son as comfortable as he could be in a situation like that and met me after the surgery to reassure me that things went ok. I can’t thank him enough. Very positive experience. Definitely recommend.

  • S&E Lynch

I was disappointed that the standard of care here fell well short of acceptable in all of the areas I can think of. Rough treatment, arguing staff, nurse calls going unanswered, comfort neglected (when I couldn't move to adjust myself), lack of friendliness (except for one member of the night staff). My 2 day stay was simply horrible. For a private hospital, this is the worst I have ever seen - and I paid for it. Really hope I never have to return.

  • Hadi Zadeh

Private hospital and private room but toilet is disgusting! I had to clean it before I could go near it. After four rounds of cleaning the tissue was still turning yellow which shows has been like that for a long time. See picture. Room comes with 200 mb internet and the nurse tells me it’s only for the patient! I didn’t even bother connecting and using it. This is day one and just 1 hour in. God knows what’s going to happen in the next few days.

  • Glen Cooksley

The nurses are fantastic, some of the patients....not so much. I would give the hospital 5 stars but the place is a little but dated. I stayed overnight for surgery on my Achilles and had a private room with bathroom which was fine, nothing fancy. Very small TV but it had basic Foxtel. Food was ok, again nothing special. There is construction next door to where I was so it was loud for about an hour from 6:30am the day I was there.

  • Peter Phillips

I recently spent 5 nights in the Roberts Ward in Warringal after a total knee replacement. The nursing staff are second to none, and were caring knowledgeable and efficient. Although I wasn't very hungry after the surgery, the meals were a good size and very tasty. Best I've had in hospital. No stay in hospital is much fun but the staff at Warringal worked to make it the best it could be. Thanks guys for looking after me so well!

  • Natasha Nicolazzo

Had surgery here on the 11th of October my surgeon was amazing except the hospital care was really careless do not stay at warringal private hospital there is no after care after asking a nurse if she could wash the blood out of my hair and they refused to not do it for me not only that they are rude and abrupt when you ask for assistance they are worried just about how you are gonna pay the hospital do not recommend

  • Elvira D'Adam

Some members of the staff were not not very friendly. My husband was to be at the hospital by 2 pm (he was there at 1.45pm) and it was not until near to 4.30 pm that he was taken to his ward - was kept for 2 and half hours in patient waiting room. Nurses OK. There was not in my opinion much communication between certain staff members. It was disappointing - it's not the Warringal Hospital of years ago.

  • garry peck

Had to have a kidney stone removed as it was causing me grief so i visited my great Northern Urology Specialist who scheduled me for surgery "two days later" at Warringal Private. A modern private hospital with skilled and attentive nursing staff and operating theatre technicians and a great food selection. Forget about waiting queues, for time and efficiency never be without Private Health Insurance.

  • google userl

Went through a major surgery last month, there were plenty of open beds and a relatively light patient load. Had best care possible in the high dependency unit and ward. Nurses were personally brilliant in providing information and support when asked specially I would like to thank nurse Carly from one of the wards who was really helpful with sorting everything out for me.

  • Catherine Turkington

The front reception staff were unfriendly and rude. Old people need some assistance to sign in, not just someone barking at them that they can’t use the vic gov app. Try a little kindness ladies, sick and elderly people have a lot on their minds. Nurses, doctors and medical staff were great. Today I needed to go back and the front reception staff were just lovely

  • S A

I was at the hospital for 4 days after a double knee replacement.I could not fault the staff, for skills or their attentiveness. One thing i didnt like was the long walk from the prep room and then the theatre waiting area-got cold feet there(literally) and found it a bit embarrassing sitting with others in gowns waiting for our various aspects of the abattoir.

  • Denis Rob

Had surgery 2 weeks ago, nursing staff NUM Alice wonderful. Mix up on medication more Opiates than required. Staff must have been very busy, maybe prescribed more than necessary leaving me disorientated. Food was not up to expectations. Charge on admission $25 to cover incidentals, TV and WIFI included, no WIFI. Great staff pity the rest was not up to scratch.

  • nicki

Our experience so far has been extremely disappointing and worrying. Things seem incredibly disorganised and badly functioning. Orders and referrals confused and delayed or have to be chased, poor communication, patient left without fluids, nurses don't have the training to do some basic and critical tasks (mostly lovely, but just cannot do what is needed).

  • Viyan Shiba

I was recently a patient at Warringal Private Hospital. What wonderful, caring people they are! Extremely friendly and caring staff, from the receptionist to the nurses and doctors. I felt well taken care of, especially by the nurse, Alison, who is really lovely, very nice and competent, and they made me feel comfortable during my stay. Thank you everyone.

  • Grahame Lack

Had shoulder surgery done Thursday 17th October 2019... I could not speak highly enough of this hospital and the amazing people working there. Everything was absolutely perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. It was like staying in a five star hotel with incredible room service. God bless you all, I really appreciate the wonderful care I received.

  • Barbara Toal

Poor experience in theatre staff. Very unprofessional with noise and chatting. Before theatre care was really good, after in ward care was ok. Food & Service was awful. Lovely nursing staff, I put it down to poor hospital management or under funding. VIC HOSPITALS NEED HELP. Uncomfortable Beds.Hope I don't need to use this hospital again.

  • melanie hulse

I recently had a Patellofemoral knee joint replacement at Warringal Private Hospital and would like to thank all the staff from the minute I arrived to the minute I left. In particular I would like to thank the nurses on Roberts ward for looking after me and especially Jen whose caring nature really stood out. Thank you …

  • chrisfi3d C

Facilities are looking a bit dated, however the staff are excellent and the room actually was pretty good for my uncle. He had easy access outside and was well supported by all involved. Park up the hill on the street behind the hospital to save yourself buying a ticket to park your car - just need to walk for 5 minutes or so

  • MarvinAnna Etter

Was there for 2 nights. Doc and surgery great. Aftercare for me terrible. Not enough staff and the majority, especially at night, not well informed, takeover didn’t function well. Staff needed to be reminded again and again about medication. I am personally disappointed from a private hospital and wouldn’t chose it again.

  • david francis

In for two nights after surgery. Very pleased with the standard of care. Had a spacious private room with natural light and very clean bathroom. Lead nurses (Belinda and Loretta) were very conscientious and caring. Everyone was friendly and keen to ensure I was comfortable and had whatever I needed. Couldn’t fault it.

  • Jennene Fletcher

I agree with you Suzanne would not want to be in that hospital Same experience staff couldn't care less Left for hours monitoring a heart that is not even connected to the patient that should read that the patient is no longer with us? But no staff attending to that issue or checking on that patient is negligible

  • Marcia Gambling

I recently spent 5 days in here. Operation, recovery, icu then ward. I cant praise the staff from admissions, recovery, icu and the ward enough. Meals were of a very high standard and staff who did meal service and cleaning were very pleasant. Thank you for making my stay a comfortable one. Well done to all.

  • Jeffrey Ryan

I was an inpatient after knee surgery and the nurses and staff in the Streeton ward made my stay special. They were just so warm and friendly and they went out of their way to assist me. The meals were excellent also so well done to the Chef and his staff. Thank you everybody Regards Denise Ryan

  • Vanessa Young

I was so blessed to undergo my Hemithyroidectomy at this AMAZING hospital. I can't even go to the dentist without needing a valium!!. From the moment i was admitted i felt safe, secure & supported. I take my hat off to the BRILLIANT Drs & Nurses they do such an amazing job. THANK YOU!. …

  • Andy Nunn

Just recently had surgery where I ended up on ICU on ventilation and then transferred to Boyd ward. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they did. They saved my life. All the staff in ICU and boys ward provided fantastic care during the whole of my stay. Would highly recommend this hospital

  • DGB

Some staff here are very kind Laura and Jess. To name a few. I must say that the staff in general apart from one minor incident portray a very positive working environment how the staff communicate to each other is outstanding every workplace was the same the world would be a happier place

  • TCB Garage

While this hospital is not what it used to be it is still a good smaller hospital. The cleaning staff do an outstanding job keeping the place presentable and the nurses make the best of a tough job and are always reasonable and polite. Certainly a lot nicer than the Austin across the road.

  • Debra Welsh

Just spent the last week at Warringal Private Hospital, in the Boyd Ward. The Nurses (Charlotte, Daisy, Becc, just to name a few) were a credit to the profession. This also included the staff who delivered the meals, cleaners and administration staff. Also a big thanks to Dr Ilonka Meyer.

  • Owen Genat

As a carer for a disabled person who had surgery here and who has had many admissions to several hospitals, I can honestly say the staff on the Boyd ward were among the best I have experienced. Parking is in short supply but otherwise an excellent hospital with great patient care.

  • A G

I had a fantastic experience at Warringal Private Hospital. The recovery nurses and level 4 nurses provided exceptional care throughout my stay. Their expertise and dedication made my recovery smooth and comfortable. A big thank you to the entire team for their top-notch care!

  • Cate Parsons

Nursing staff were mostly all wonderful and treat you so nicely. A general sense of ease and calm here which is what you want when your having surgery. Private room was very clean and comfortable. Same with theater and adjoining areas. All still very new and shiny.

  • NANCY BONINI

Just wanted to thank the team at Warringal Private Hospital - Boyd ward Thank you to Erin, Brooke, Maddy, Celeste and Dana for all your tender care, you have all chosen the right profession. The comfort and care given to my recovery has been amazing.

  • Olivia Heleno

I had an admission at this hospital and I had to pay AUD725 when I arrived. As I have private insurance I asked for an invoice to claim the refund and the hospital are not able to provide me this invoice saying it was a self funding payment.

  • Pieta Autenzio

This is the best hospital I have been to. Staff in Boyd ward are amazing- so attentive caring and always up to support you in your recovery and your needs and love a chat if you are feeling down. Specialists are all amazing and all

  • N A

Came in for blood test while very nervous as it was my first one ever. I didn’t catch the nurse/doctors name but she was so kind and considerate and made me feel as comfortable as possible. She was at the St Vincent’s Pathology area

  • Joel Smith

A big thank you to all the staff at Warringal private in particular Janine, Mel, Alison and Brendan for looking after me after my ACL reconstruction, their care and compassion towards me was second to none, a big thank you …

  • Chris Marston

At one time or another I've been a patient, a staff member and a visitor so I'm slightly biased in my opinion here. That said, awesome staff, good food and sort of depending on the ward and or surgery really good rooms.

  • Savva Papadopoulos

I must say, when I had my operation the staff were so friendly and always came in straight away when I needed something, the procedure I had done was fast and painless and even the food at the hospital was good !!

  • Sue O'Hehir

Thankyou so much for the excellent care I received when I had some troubles when recovering from my gastrocopic surgery. Excellent care from doctor, anaesthetist and the lovely lovely but very efficient nurses.

  • Daniel Adams

The best hospital food going around! More importantly an amazing group of surgeons, doctors, nurses, catering and cleaning staff. Parking can be a difficulty although a new car park is currently being built.

  • Doris Papadopoulos

I had a knee replacement on the 5th May and would like to show my gratitude to the nurses at Roberts Ward especially Myla Espina..Bwana..Alison..Moddy . Always attentive wth a smile and polite ... thnk you

  • 臭叁

The staff here was Ok but the hospital itself is the worst. Don’t come here, any public hospital is better than this and they pay their staff a lot less too. This private hospital only exists for profit.

  • Sarah Bramham

I have been trying to get through to the hospital via phone. I called the ward 6 times and it rang out each time. I have now been on hold to speak with reception for 27 minutes!! This is not good enough.

  • Geoffrey Prior

Many thanks to Caz and the team of nurses at Warringal for their excellent care and professionalism. Special thanks to Doctor Farouque for his wonderful skill and his very friendly and caring manner.

  • Doug Golden

My mother has been in Warringal Private for 2 weeks ....... what wonderful nurses and staff! She has been very well looked after and she has appreciated the family feel of the care.............

  • Tee Cee

Staff nice , but how this place runs is anybody’s guess. More like a very basic public hospital. Whatever happened here during covid has made this place unprofessional. Avoid if you can.

  • Brian Melbourne

Have just spent 3 days here, its a great hospital, caring and engaging staff who were always onhand to take care of my medical needs. Thankyou so much to all the staff and management.

  • Aman Taha

To the management, The Sargent Dr Jack was superb, the antithesist Dr John very professional and the nurses were up to the task especially Myla. Thank you very much. Much appreciated.

  • Tim Hammond

My father had to have a foot amputation, this corrupt.hospital lied, illegally prematurely discharged him without consultation and he died early as a result. It should be shut down.

  • Gillian Davey

Adele Burgess and the admissions, nursing staff and anaesthetist were brilliant! Very personable, considerate and thorough!! Very good theatre and patient assistance staff too!

  • Andrew Duggan

Staff were great but Ramsay health who runs it is a rip off. Paid for 2 nights, stayed 1 night and even though they charge $1000 a night, I got a refund of $69. Ripped off

  • Julie G

Excellent facilities and wonderful nursing staff! Both my boys needed surgery at the same time and it was by far the most positive private hospital experience we've had!

  • TalofaPina

Had an excellent medical operation experience. Good comms from admission to holding and post care. Kudos to all Nurses and Doctors who looked out for me. Thanks heaps!

  • michael Frith

Poor organizational skills re check in snd check out Not meeting the covid restrictions they have imposed themselves. Poor communication re pick up snd drop off.

  • Bea Laufer

Such an amazing experience. Warringal Priv is by far the best hospital experience I've had. Staff go above and beyond to ensure that you're well and cared for!!

  • Jay Jay Flowers

I’d like to thank all the nurses, surgeon and anesthetiser, they we all AMAZING!!! Made my stay so comfortable and everyone seemed like they care about me.
