"Overall I like this bookstore - but I didnt like to be pushed to buy something - I just looked at the one book because of interesting cover and 2 members of staf started to rave about it like crazy- I bought as I feel to be pushed to do it ( I have social anxiety OCD and Iam extremaly shy and introvert so I could not behave differently) - I did not enjoyed the book it was opposide I would normally buy - and because that experience in mind I propably will not back there - I just like to browse on my way - no need to be convence to buy something especcially if I dont seeking for advice"

Wow what a weird experience. I left shop shocked.. I was in the shop today around 3pm , just looking around and checking what they have - books , gifts etc . One older woman with grey hair came to me and asked me if I need any help . I said no thank you I’m good. But she was just standing there and staring at me. I was feeling very uncomfortable but I still try to check the books. She moved on my left side still staring at me and she asked me again what book I’m looking for. So I answered again- thank you I’m good I’m just looking around what they have but she didn’t answer anything but she was just standing and staring at me like I was doing something bad. I was trying to ignore this and that she asked third time ! And she again asked me what I’m looking for and she was staring at me like I’m a thief! In 1 minute she asked me 3 times what I’m doing there and she didn’t stop looking at me . I was completely shocked by situation and I left shop extremely confused and feeling weird. I never experienced something like this. What at absolute rude and disgraceful behaviour from this woman. I will never come back again there.

A good shop generally ahich seems to have improved lately. But I find quite a bit of variance between shops in terms of availability of stock outside the main offers, the books of the month etc. The staff are great here, very helpful, if a little run off their feet, particularly on a Saturday when long queues can form. I'm a regular customer (and at a couple of Waterstones nearby) and I find the staff at this one seem to have to deal with a lot of rude customers. Must be a Chiswick-thing?

Really nice Waterstones book store located in Chiswick. Ordered online book about body anatomy and same day was ready for me to collect it which is amazing At the same time I was able to find and buy game that I just played few days ago in the Netherlands and it is : Risk. So I bought it too Really glad that it is walking distance for me. Very nice, friendly staff and calm music played in the background.

This is a good bookshop. Plenty of space and loads of books (as you'd expect). Nice calming atmosphere and friendly staff. There's no one rushing you to buy a book. They're happy for you to browse for as long as you need to. Sadly, as with a lot of retailers, I think it won't be long until we see more bookshops closing down. I hope that this is not one of them. You will be welcomed by the nostalgic smell of books. They're spread out over two floors and have a large selection of genres. They don't stock technical reads. However, browsing did reveal quiet a few hobbyist books. There's a few nooks and crannies spread out on the second floor which make for very good secluded reading zones.

I love wandering around this store. I really like that Waterstones now have started to stock board games....... However I don't like that they over charge for what they are selling. Please continue to stock board games, but price them up at a more competitive price otherwise people will go elsewhere. (I did).

I'm not the bookish one in my household. The bookish one doesn't like it because the quality of staff is so variable, a feature it shares with plenty of retail establishments that have expanded quickly and employ sales people rather than staff with and interest in the products.

  • Simon Chalker

I love going to Waterstones especially during in November in the run up to Christmas when all the new books are on sale including Autobiographies, humour and Guinness World Records. There always very interesting to read just to keep you interested in reading them.

  • mike threlfall

I'm so pleased that they still stock quality fiction from established authors. Was disappointed to discover that my local library no longer does. The shelves are full and they have some good offers. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Will be back.

  • Roman Thiele

A nice bookshop with a large selection of books in all kinds of categories, from health care to thrillers. The staff is friendly. They also have a large selection of board games and quaint presents going along the theme of books, art and culture.

  • M. Michelle (Hi-tech Investments)

A large Book Store containing a large amount of educational and quality materials for all ages, and from all fields, including family games, and educational books through play. Although the prices are a bit high, I still think it's worth it.

  • David Wilcock

Nice, friendly bookstore, but titles sold at RRP rates rather than the upfront discounts offered at another local bookstore / Amazon prices. They should offer more deals to increase customer traffic, rather than the ubiquitous 3-for-2.

  • Roberto Cosenza

I love Waterstones but can someone be more courteous than one of the ladies working in this specific store? I definitely know now which one is my favourite bookstore in London. Thank you for making our visit something to remember

  • Shamire Khan

Nice book shop with two floors. Ground floor feel like the shop puts it's current favourites, hardbacks and childrens books. For a deeper a read, you have to go to second floor; more fiction, non-fiction and specialist interest.

  • lucila porthe

My son genuinely loves this place and fines all the staff kind and helpful with useful and interesting recommendations for books which he always enjoys and they also have a lovely selection of books with some signed editions

  • Butterfly H

Big store, great selection of books and gifts. New points scheme worthwhile if you buy books regularly. Bit busy sometimes and staff not the most knowleable unfortunately but keen to help. Latests books available always.

  • hugo bone

  • Anna Waterman

I love bookshops, but Chiswick Waterstones has to be one of my favourites - great selection of books I'd not come across before - looked particularly at ones for young teenage boys, women and veggie chefs!

  • jaredjeya

They’re handing out Quality Street and Celebrations to people stuck in a long Christmas Eve queue - need I say more? (I will say more, staff are also really friendly and will give book recommendations!)

  • Keylon M

Amazing. One of the best WS stores, well laid out, civilised crowd, not crowded, and great layout and variety. My only criticism... cannot find where you keep your true crime / crime bio books here!

  • Avril Lobo

Love popping into Waterstone's for a browse and a shop! Great selection. Always find what I'm looking for and end up leaving with more than I intended (result)! A lovely space for some quiet time.

Lovely building full of Books and other things too. Great if you like reading, and some of the books even have pictures in if you don't enjoy reading so much. Also a selection of Audiobooks.

  • Craig Pickering

I've dropped Amazon because of their terrible delivery service. Waterstones now do click and collect to their store: quick, reliable and free. (And no I don't work there or own shares.)

  • Tom Mackevich

The biggest bookshop in chiswick offering a wide range of books over two floors, as well as a selection of boardgames, greeting cards, and gifts for all ages. Definitely worth a visit.
