I visited Weber Grill Restaurant for dinner. It's in the heart of downtown Chicago around a plethora of restaurants. I chose the Weber Grill because of it's accessibility to the hotel that I stayed in. There were other options, but this restaurant stayed open an hour later than the others. Plus, it was much cheaper than the other steakhouses in the area. The venue is easily identifiable from any viewpoint in the area due to the fact that there's the iconic barbecue Grill above the entrance of the building. The venue is very spacious, along with much to see whether you're sitting inside the restaurants to watch the cooks Grill the selected meats as well as seeing all of the historic notes of the business. Or sitting outside and viewing everything that's happening amongst downtown Chicago. I sat at the bar this time because the venue was still packed after 8:30p and it was difficult to get a table (20+ minute wait). I ordered the BBQ meatloaf entree paired with a Whistle Pig (rye whiskey) old fashioned. The portions of their entrees are generous and very filling. Although I wanted to order something else to take to my hotel room for a midnight snack, I was too full to actually do so. The entree itself was a different spin on meatloaf. I've never had barbecue meatloaf nor had it seared & grilled either. It was paired with mashed potatoes and green beans with garlic butter topped with sliced almonds. I enjoyed that meal, it was delicious. I found myself scraping the plate in about 20 minutes after receiving it. My bartender for the night was Audrey. Despite being drastically busy with a full bar of guests, plus constantly receiving drink orders to prepare for servers, she tended to me well. And the drink that she made for was on point. She gave a generous pour for what I ordered, which is something I needed after a long day at work. If you're in the area, give this place a try. Enjoy it for yourself.

It was amazing! The price point is very good. I had the filet mignon. The bf got the ribs. The ribs are amazing. They just fall off the bone and they’re saucy enough. They also let him replace coleslaw and beans with fries so that was a plus. They also provide a hot towel. The filet was very good. It wasn’t fatty at any point. I don’t even know why I went to Gibson’s. Dessert was great. We got the caramel apple pie with ice cream. The waiter always got a new water bottle. The place was a little cold but maybe it’s just me. It was great. We were definitely coming back after that. So we went back, this time it was around 3-4pm and they seated us in the other section of the restaurant past the booths where you can see Jewel-Osco from the window. The service was nonexistent this time. We ordered half a rack and the classic burger. The raw onions were really strong in the burger but the ribs were still really good. The fries are thin and crispy. It kind of tastes like the exterior of an onion ring without the onion. We were swimming in fries between the two of us. But there was no hot towel at the end and he had to go to the bathroom to wash his hands, which was close by but it took some guesswork. It took a while before we got the cheque. It was disappointing when it came to the service, but when it's good, it's really good. The food is still amazing here.

Very mediocre food given the price point, expectations, and location. Came here with my dad who has been wanting to visit for almost a decade and can tell he left disappointed. Ordered their tomato, watermelon, and feta salad to split for an appetizer. Tomatoes were very thick and not yet ripe. Local drink selection was good, and they feature a lot of N/A cocktails, which is nice to see. For the entree, I had their grill master combo so I could try several different dishes. The hot link was good, but the chicken and pulled pork were very bland. I think I had expected more of a charcoal flavor in the meat, or even some better seasoning. I’m not sure you would have known everything was freshly grilled because the taste was closer to something generic you would order at a baseball game, or even an airport. The novelty of seeing their staff cook on these oversized weber grills was cool, but the quality of food and flavor was just not there. If you own your own Weber Grill, you can probably cook your own food better at home and not spend $50+ per person doing it. If you’re looking for a steakhouse or good BBQ joint, I recommend skipping this place because there are much better options elsewhere in River North.

Dined at Weber Grill our list evening in Chicago and enjoyed an excellent meal and great service! Jerome was our server and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. He was probably the most attentive server we had during our entire stay. Aside from the great service, our family really enjoyed his personality as well as his sense of humor. With a couple of dietary restrictions, I personally was thankful for his knowledge of the menu as well as how items were cooked. One of the specials was the rainbow trout and it was a great suggestion. The green beans and salad that came with the meal were a great compliment to the fish. Compliments as well to the chef as it was exquisitely cooked. I wasn't super hungry so wasn't feeling the Delmonico or anything heavy like that. Although it felt a little weird dining at a Weber and not ordering a steak, I'm glad Jerome suggested the daily fish special.

Have been to so many restaurants around Chicago and the US but this was by far the biggest shock I’ve had with food quality. Been meaning to try this place for a while and finally brought some visiting family members for dinner. We ordered some steak skewers to start and they were absolutely burnt. I rarely send food back but every bite we took was completely bitter from the burnt parts and absolutely inedible. We each ordered a steak for our main and we ordered medium rare. When it arrived it was tough as bones and insanely dry, definitely very far off from a medium rare. We sent it back and received a new one only for the inside to be cold, and the outside to be burnt and bitter. I’ve never had tougher, drier steaks in all the steak houses I’ve tried around Chicago. All the meat we received was grainy in the mouth and burnt, almost as if they were frozen and thawed incorrectly. An absolutely horrendous meal, especially for the prices. Will never come back here and will not recommend anyone to come here (at least for the steaks)

I've cooked on a Weber charcoal kettle for years and have been slowly refining my grilling technique and wanted to visit the restaurant and take a BBQ course (which unfortunately didn't match my schedule). We went for lunch and I had high expectations for the grilled options. We got steak and different sandwich options. Unfortunately it was underwhelming. Nothing wrong, but I feel like I make at least as good, if not a better steak myself. Service was excellent. Restaurant has a nice warm and cozy atmosphere. Prices are on the high side. All in all, unfortunately wasn't what I expected. Edit: I had initially given a 4* review but had forgotten that despite the fact that we were a party of just 4, there was 18% gratuity included in the price with the possibility to "top it up" to +20%. Definitely not going back. Might be controversial, but tips are something you give servers for good service, not a tool the restaurant uses to charge you more after the fact.

BE CAREFUL!!! My entire experience was good until we received the bill. They are forcefully taking 18% tip! This is very bad practice as we have budgets on our business trips. Look at other reviews with this concern, management is NOT doing anything about it. I loved everything about this place until receiving the bill. We came in, we were greeted by a friendly lady, we didn't have a reservation but we waited only for 5 minutes and I received a text message that they're ready. Our server Jerome was the best server I've seen in Chicago for this one 1 week we were here. He is very personable and always asking if we need anything as he walks by. Manager, GIVE HIM A RAISE!!! Although not much seafood options, but whatever we had tasted amazing! Manager, please add more seafood please, people are looking at healthier options these days. WE WILL NOT COME BACK HERE ONLY BECAUSE OF FORCEFULLY CHARGING US TIPS.

I visited this restaurant during my trip to Chicago. The restaurant is perfectly located in downtown, near Michigan Ave and is very easy to find. The staff is great, patient, and with excellent service skills. Their suggestions are always accepted and appreciated. No waiting time even without reservation due to their capacity. The food had a good presentation and was delicious. I really enjoyed my time there. The prices was affordable and not expensive based on the quality of their delivered service. Totally worth it. I do recommend this restaurant. The mashed potato is the best I have ever tried so far. Even when I do follow keto diet and avoid carbs, I had to try it due to my daughter's insistence.

Really enjoyed this place. Felt like being treated at a neighbor's house . 3 of our party ordered the NY Strip prepared differently (temp and toppings) while the other member got salmon. We also had 2 kids order off the kid menu (chicken strips and grilled chicken). I wish I remembered the servers name cause he was the absolute best (dinner on 10/17). They got absolutely slammed and he was still cool and collected. He handled it well and was very personable. He made us laugh and feel right at home. It was just great service. The steak which were all ordered to different temps were all cooked correctly. Everyone cleaned their plates and we even got a slice of chocolate cake for our birthday boy to enjoy later that evening. Thanks for the great experience and meal. Our server said this would be just like a home cooked meal without us having to do the grilling or the dishes and in that we were not disappointed. In fact I'd say the food was even better than that.

Weber Grill is associated with the Weber grills sold in stores.... I know. I am late. Anyway, we made reservations and had a party of 7 people. Upon arriving we had to wait a bit, but were seated within 15 minutes. Our server was Dare and he was a doll. He provided excellent recommendations, was familiar with the food and ingredients and upon learning of a food allergy made sure we were aware of the foods that had the ingredient. The food, we had pretty much every appetizer and all were very good. I highly recommend the deep fried brussel sprouts with caramelized onions. For dinner were were eating the walleye, salmon and beef tips. The food was sizeable and we almost immediately regretted not saving room for dessert. I had the salmon with a honey bourbon glaze and it was really flavorful and cooked to perfection. Wine choices were not the best - only 1 type of chardonnay. But we made do.... A good place to go for hearty portions of food off the grill.

We were a party of six looking for a nice place to have a steak. After a long walk, we came across the Weber Grill restaurant. Actually, our noses found it first. After a short wait, we were seated quickly at a nice table. The restaurant was comfortable and well decorated. Our waiter recommended the pulled pork egg rolls as an appetizer. They were great. We were there on a Saturday so prime rib was available. That was my choice. It was served with mash potatoes, au jus and horseradish sauce. The prime rib was a generous 20oz size and so tender. Everyone else was also happy with their meal. The whole experience was great, but our waiter made it an exceptional night with his attention and character. Now, I wish I could remember his name, but only recall him saying he was from Bulgaria. We were very well fed and entertained.

  • Captivating Timeless Events

As Wedding Planners, we recently had the opportunity to organize a wedding at the Ovation in Chicago, with the bride choosing Weber Grill for their catering services. Let me tell you, it was the best decision ever! Lauren, Jon and their staff were absolutely amazing. They formed a wonderful team to work alongside, ensuring that all the food prepared was absolutely incredible. We were fortunate to be a part of Monique and Bennett's special day, and I can honestly say that I would highly recommend Weber Grill for any future events. They truly went above and beyond, and we were immensely grateful for their exceptional service. The staff at Weber Grill did an outstanding job, ensuring that everything ran as smoothly as possible. Their efforts were truly amazing, and they played a vital role in making the wedding an unforgettable experience.

I visited on April 12th, 2019. Our experience started off to a VERY sour start when the hostess told us there would be a “15 minute wait” when we clearly saw that the restaurant was not busy, slow even, and the kitchen seemed calm is if there was no wait needed. She was very rude, snarky even to us and ignored us. We sat over at the bar and told the bartender of what the hostess said and told us that was incorrect and he got us seated almost immediately.... I wish I could’ve gotten the hostess name, very rude. The food was semi worth the bad encounter. However, the chicken was a little pink on the inside. And the fries came with no ketchup but I remember last time I received ketchup without asking.. Moreover, they updated their menu. With less selections but more of their classics. Their desert many was very slim and bathrooms were small.

Visiting here for the first time from Ohio December 18th. came here to have a birthday dinner. The food is very good. my friend had the brisket rolls and really enjoyed them! I had a half a slab of ribs with the mashed potatoes. Very delicious as well. But mainly all the stars goes to our server William he was awesome! Very warm, knowledgeable, kind, friendly and hospitable! He made my birthday special. And took care of us with a smile the whole time. There was another server who gave us a whole educational rundown on how the restaurant got started we enjoyed it. Shout out to William and the staff that's how customer service should be everywhere! Definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back every time we come to Chicago!

Marginal. Always wanted to eat here as I’ve been a Weber fan since my dad always grilled on a Kettle since I was a kid. The food -meh. I rank restaurants based on if I can do better on my own. And I can definitely do better than the New York Steak they served. A little tasteless. Garlic mashed potatoes— solid Grilled Asparagus— meh. The wedge - pretty good. Service? Very, very sloppy. They got my NY messed up and brought out a Delmomico. They fixed after I brought it up. When the bill came the waiter charged me for a 9oz glass of wine vs the 6 oz I ordered. All said and done— if you want a great meal — prepared perfectly— served well by wait staff who are on it — THIS IS NOT the place.

Great service at the bar area and good wine selection. Seated at a nice booth in the kitchen area. Service was bad at our table as we had to keep asking for water since the glasses are very small. When we left, we noticed most tables had a pitcher of water. Steaks were great with a smoky, rustic flavor. We had to send one back because it was undercooked and then it was great. Very upsetting that a table for two had mandatory 18% tip added to the bill. Be aware. Dinner for two, no appetizers, one glass of wine, salads and steaks. Nearly $175.

Smelled amazing when walked in!! We ate outside - all other patrons had Happy Hour menus -we asked for one for drink specials , etc - We were denied she said “ I might get in trouble “ but all other tables she had were using them Right Next To Us Food - meh - we got chicken - bbq sauce was needed to get flavor on the Beer can Chicken Potatoes were watery separated and seemed to be from a box - fries cold but decent . Didn’t bother with dessert . I would probably skip - maybe just a bad night - As a reply to their reply : Happy hour menus were provided by servers IN THE OUTSIDE DINING ROOM -i wasn’t in the bar at all . Your servers are handing these outside . My concern was why we were denied the specials when 2 tables beside us enjoyed them .

We enjoyed the city this past weekend and so glad we decided to hit Weber Grill on State St. So many steakhouses to choose from, but don’t sleep on Weber Grill. The knowledge and professionalism is exactly what you’d expect dining in Chicago. Particularly, Joey and Lin were so helpful and their expertise on recommending wine to compliment my steak was spot on. Joe’s mock-tail was perfect and my wife was in heaven with the garlic mashed. We will be back dining again soon !!!

Great location, easy to get. The staff as u enter is available tho very strict on reservations rules, which is understandable but when is late at night, you might be a bit more flexible. However... The food is well prepared. The meat that we ordered was available only in well done.. when we all clearly said for medium raw (after they asked). Food was tasty and the service very fast. The burger was very juicy. A bit overpriced.

I’ve never eaten the ribs like theirs before, they were juicy and tender, and the barbecue sauce they put it on top was not too sweet. I was impressed that the ribs were not dry. For the 26th shrimp, the shrimps had a charcoal smell and taste which wasn’t over cooked and tasted delicious. They made the texture just right. I loved it. However, I was kinda disappointed with the steak I ordered. It was too dry. I ordered medium but they gave me medium-well. And you guys may need to put more effort on mashes potato as well… the fries was good tho.

Every time we're in Chicago we make it a point to eat at Weber Grill (sometimes twice!). I have liked everything I've had, usually a steak but I've had the meatloaf and the hamburger also. Service is always first class. It does get busy so reservations for dinner are usually a good idea. Make sure to try the pretzel bread! Update...tried something new, really liked the prime rib grilled cheese sandwich! Good option when you aren't hungry enough for a steak or other big meal, but still enough food to fill you up.

Went here for the 1st time this past weekend with the family. Everything was great and we will definitely be coming back. We all had steak which was cooked to perfection, the sides were good as well. The adult drinks were tasty and strong which is a plus. Our waiter was very attentive as well as informative on the history of the place and how they cooked our foods. I would recommend this place and even for the price it was worth it.

I try not to leave bad reviews, however I can't refrain on this one: Some of the worst steak I have ever had, no seasoning, no flavor. I was shocked it was that low quality. The restaurant looks neat and I thought they were actually cooking on large grills, however it didn't taste like that whatsoever. It was also very hot in the restaurant due to the grills. Service was mediocre and we will definitely not be back due to the poor quality of food and service we received.

I'm always treated very well when I come here. I come alone every year on my birthday to reflect on my friendship with a friend who has since passed away(because he bought me here the first time for a birthday years ago) and this allows me to live in that moment a little longer. I went on 3/23/23 and staff member Amber was amazing to me, very accommodating and intuitive. My only "issue" this trip were the brussel sprouts, there was too much char but good overall!

We visited Chicago and we made the Weber restaurant our last "event" before heading back home. We initially been told by locals to go somewhere else but we stuck to the plan and we were glad we did! It was an amazing experience, even more if you are lucky enough to have Jerome as your server, he is extremely friendly and easy going , we loved it! Had the smoked pork chops. Seasoned well and tasty. Spinach was very good and fresh. The chops were borderline undercooked, see pic. Friendly service. Ate outside. A bit noisy with traffic. Prices are reasonable. Not very busy for a Friday night. The menu has good choices but the steaks are overpriced. Had dinner again there with burger and fries. Pretty average taste. We had the Brussels sprouts to start. They were nicely crisp, good flavor but lacked salt. Wine is overpriced.

Being from Texas (home of brisket), let me just say that these Hill Country Egg Rolls are the perfect start to a great dinner or cocktail at Weber. The brisket, corn and black beans fold nicely into the wrapper and the sauce captures the true essence of the brisket. The service was perfect, the ambiance was great and the price point was s reasonable for solo travelers or families. This is a respite in the hustle and bustle of the Miracle Mile.

For being a takeout order, the food tasted just as I would imagined if had eaten at the restaurant. The ribs were still hot, beans still hot and the cole slaw very cold. This was our 1st time eating at this restaurant and we really liked it. The waiter in the bar area was very attentive. The meatloaf was pretty good and it has like a sweet BBQ type sauce on it that was odd but tasted okay. My friend had the pork chops which I did try and they melted in my mouth. Honestly, the porkchops were 5stars. For our appetizer we had some loaded fries and those were also good. Definitely visit this restaurant because the food was good and decently priced.

Great service, no valet, macaroni not suggested. It was very watery needed to be cooked more, no more bbq brisket and that's what I've been eating there 25 yrs. The cornbread was good but smaller and the Prime RIB was superb along with their meatloaf .

I can't express how amazing my waiter Julio was during my visit. I'm typically a harsh critic but he definitely won me over with his stellar service. I told the manager Gabby about his service and she was also amazing. The food was almost as amazing as the service lol This will be my go to spot when I come to Chicago.

The quality has changed so much. It was subpar. The food came out lukewarm. It wasn’t crowded and we were sitting right by the kitchen. The drinks was horrible. The Salmon was unseasoned. The steak was fine, but something about the experience was lackluster altogether. You can tell by the pictures. The amount of money you pay I think it should offer a better value.

Service was great. The beer was good too. I was a bit disappointed by the burger. I asked for medium, it came out well done. Loved the cheese and onion on my Big G burger but the burger patty itself was ok, not great. I had heard that Weber Grill had one of the most underrated burger in Chicago. But I disagree.

Great place for real grilled food - very much like backyard BBQ with all the sides. Menu does have good variety with fish, chicken and steak. Along with traditional ribs and sides. Good atmosphere with indoor and covered (heated) outdoor seating.

Pro Tip** do not get the Chicken Picata! The chicken was boiled then thrown on the grill for grill marks. They did take it back once we told them we didn't like it. They even comp'd our meal that we replaced it with. Outstanding service and atmosphere. Food was just ok. Nothing mind blowing at all.

We’ve eaten here a couple of times. It’s a large restaurant so they can accommodate large parties even during peak hours. I would characterize the good as very good, but not great. This time we had a chicken Caesar salad and a patty melt. We tried the warm brownie with ice cream for dessert; it was excellent. Prices are about $20-25 for most entrees.

Very delicious food, full of flavor! My dad and I both loved the entrees and the main course. The drinks were also good. And another major highlight was the service. Our waiter, Mahjoub, was very attentive and social. He was very detailed with our order and remembered our exact drinks for the second round. I loved the location in Indianapolis, and this experience in Chicago was good as well. I recommend it!

Dined on early Sunday evening. Was not overly busy when we arrived, and was seated in the grill area. It took longer for the waiter to arrive for drinks. Food was on par with what I expected. I had asked for an undressed salad and it came dressed. The main dining area was picking up by the time we finished our meal.

Service was great. We sat outside and street noise was annoying, but that not the establishments fault. I would have preferred the brussel sprouts to have much more of a roast on them. Seemed steamed rather than roasted. But food was very good overall.

The service was wonderful! Very friendly very accommodating staff. They have paper straws and draft Webber grill beer. We ordered Bud Lights and they came in a bottle. They have A1 sauce and Heinz condiments. I had the New York strip loaded baked potato and a Cesar salad. It was delicious cooked just the way I wanted it. They're still offering outdoor dining.

As a Weber Grill user and fan, I've been wanting to visit the Weber Grill restaurant for a while. It did not disappoint. We had the grilled brussel sprouts and split the grill master combo. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. If you like great grilled food, you won't find much better than this.

Great food and service. Prices are ok, and the atmosphere is good. Good for the entire family, a little price but it is good. In a really good location in downtown Chicago. For 2 people it was about $100 with appetizers and no alcohol. They have an outdoor eating area perfect for the nice weather.
