I'm against theft and I am pro hygiene. Whole foods is a great place, has great food. But when you see people grabbing food with their bare hands from the buffet, whether homeless or not, filling up the big food containers, or when dogs are entering the store with their owners and sometimes even trying to or reaching food from the buffet, you simply can't feel comfortable eating the food that is left over in the buffet. What does not help too, is that there are people just walking out, all the time without paying for their big containers of food, or general products, while I pay almost double or triple of what I used to pay because of it. It has not happened once, but it's now an usual thing here and other places as well. There's a clear issue with thefts, and I understand that the stores might not be able to do much about it, due to the California weird laws, however, requiring hygiene and not allowing dogs near the food buffets is definitely not against the law yet. Love the food, love the place, but I think that's hard to recommend eating here right now. Didn't catch the dog going up the buffet, but here's a picture of a non service dog ... Not that it would matter anyway.
As other people are saying, the staff at this Whole Foods are rude when it comes to returns. About 10:30am on Monday I walked up to the returns counter with my small item and QR code ready to go. The young woman at the counter actually had the Amazon returns scanner in her hand, and was standing right next to the plastic bags, and yet she told me that I had to use the self-service kiosk and started to explain how to use it! I told her that I already knew how to use it but I really don't like the machine because it's not very well designed and frustrating to use. But she insisted that she would only take a large items and that I had to use the kiosk! Wow. Talk about not making me feel good about Amazon and Whole Foods. I needed a few items and I walked around the store with a frown on my face. When the kiosk screen asked how I would rate the experience, it was definitely a . Time to shop somewhere else (and save money too).
Five star Supermarket. ALL ORGANIC FOOD. Good service. Cooked food hot and ready to go. Salad bar. You will find almost all your groceries here. Good quality food. Very competitive prices. Bar that serves alcohol to anyone older than 21 years old. WiFi but with no electrical plug-ins. Whole Foods allows only 120 minutes of WiFi time per customer. Wheelchair accessible. Parking? Yes. You get 90 minutes free parking time with the purchase of $5.00 usd in groceries from Whole Foods Supermarket. This applies only to Whole Foods grocery shoppers. Whole Foods customers who have exceeded the 90 minutes free parking time, will be charged $10.00 USD per every 15 minutes of parking time that exceeds the free 90 minutes to a maximum charge of $50.00 usd per day for parking time. Don't forget to hand the cashier your parking ticket at checkout to have it punched or you will end up paying for your parking time.
I love Whole Foods, but today I had the worst experience. Management, please pay attention to your security personnel. I always use this location for my Amazon drop off returns. I drive scooter and I know I can’t go inside of the Whole Foods with a scooter. I never do when I shop. Whenever I go to Amazon, security allows me to be with a scooter, because I go straight to Amazon, without entering food market. Today, 11/03 at 3:50 the security guard stoped me and in very rude form started to give me order to go away or fold the scooter (which is really heavy to carry for a woman). He didn’t give me a chance to speak, he was just yelling at me in THE RUDEST WAY. I was so upset, I really wanted to cry after this emotional abuse. I’ll file complaint to Amazon as well so they know who they cooperate with. Awful experience. I don’t have any desire to come and shop there anymore. Not this location.
Just a standard Whole Foods - decent stock for DTLA. Biggest downfall: their discriminatory, gentrified policy against e-scooters. As much as I’d love to go shopping at Whole Foods, I am not allowed to enter the store with my e-scooter, unless it’s folded & I carry it. Not allowed to put it in the cart either. Not given any support to resolve the issue. In fact, treated like a criminal by security for daring to enter their precious store with my transportation. I see baby strollers, walkers and even pets, but unless you are privileged enough to own a car or to live close enough to walk, you can’t shop with your scooter. I have no other means of transportation. I just want to be able to purchase healthy, organic food like everyone else. But I haven’t been able to step foot in Whole Foods without being harassed about my scooter for over a year. I miss the hot bar the most.
Really nice whole foods but when I ordered my coffee they were out of cold brew. So I got iced americano with pumpkin and carmel syrup. They didn't have vanilla! When I got my drink it was labeled "BB". I was confused cuz there were no B items in my beverage but they confirmed it was mine so off i went happy with my coffee. Once i got back to my office my coworker who used to be a barista advised it stands for Basic B* If I had been in on the joke I would have found it funny but i wasn't so it just comes across as rude and inappropriate. Especially when it's not that hard to figure out his intent as he was quite short while serving us. I don't need stellar customer service but maybe don't call me a B when I was nothing but nice I hope he doesn't do this to anyone else as it can really ruin a day when coffee is supposed to make my day
I shop here several times a week, since they opened in 2015. This past year they seem to be suffering management issues. Certain departments, like the bakery, produce, and butcher counter are chronically out of product and their staff seem fed up, probably bc of the downtown environment. For instance, the bakery is out of fresh bread by noon. Butcher counter is out of steaks by 4pm. Days go by in the produce section without restocking depleted items like kale, red peppers and mushrooms. It's been this way for the last 12 months and I'm starting to go elsewhere for these basic food items. Other notes: there are so many dogs brought in by customers that are obviously pets (puppies or poorly trained, and clearly not service animals) but unchallenged by mgmt and allowed to roam the produce and salad bar like it's a dog park.
I bought 'fresh' salbefish tonight at WF DTLA and when I arrived home and got ready to cook it, I discovered that it was spoiled - not just a little fishy but completely spoiled. I drove back to the store and presented it to the manager, who smelled it and said it 'smelled like fish'. Absolutely infuriating attitude, basically calling me a liar and gaslighting me. Refund was offered (and accepted) but honestly, I specifically asked at the fish counter if this is fresh and was told it was from this morning. This should not happen at a high end establishment such as WF. Not acceptable as I could have gotten sick from eating it. Shame on them for trying to pass it off as fresh. My concern is that other customers will end up sick. EDIT: Complaint has been filed with the city's food sanitation department.
There are things I love about Whole Foods: Fresh breads, especially their 'Sperlonga' loaf (makes awesome toast), cashiers are usually helpful and friendly, they stock a reasonable choice of gluten free items. Cheese selection is one of the best I have found in this area. There are also things I don't like so much: Produce often looks OK on the outside, but once you cut into it you find it's gone bad - not really the best time to discover when you are about to cook dinner. Prices are very high so excellent quality would be expected. The layout of the store sometimes mean I have trouble finding something, but I can't usually find a staff member to help me. All in all, this is a great store for specific products, but a few more staff available to help on the shop floor would be a great addition.
Thought this store was legit until I recently received FOOD POISONING twice from their under cooked packaged Rotisserie chicken (usually $8.99) and larger organic chicken (usually $12.99). When buying, one would assume they are fully cooked due to packages being so hot to the touch from the large food warmers. Received food poisoning twice from the under cooked (and pink) breast meat within the whole chickens. Tried bringing this up to one of the many chefs (or food prep workers) attention yet was brushed off as if I was making this all up. By now I'm most certain other customers have complained of receiving food poisoning from these under cooked, packaged whole chickens. You basically have to finish baking or cooking it once you get home for another 20-30 mins.
Very bad experience, I started shopping here ever since it opened its doors. I had a problem here, and the manager Heriberto, along with Edgar have no idea how to handle store problems. They are controlled by a guard named Benitez he controls them. These two guys make it seem like you're shoplifting when you're shopping here. Be careful they might accuse you of something you didn't do. Shame on Heriberto, who does not know how to handle incidents with customers. He doesn't deserve that job he has. He is not meant to work with customers. He has no idea how to handle an incident. I had a problem there and no one was able to help me all they did was just deny service to me. That was not just. And no one has contacted me regarding this incident I had at WF.
First of all, parking is free with validation. Parking hasn't been difficult here, as long as you are ok with going down a level to the additional parking area. plenty of open spots and an escalator to get you to ground level. The store itself is on the more compact side of things. It has the whole food staples: sandwich, pizza, and other made to order counters; hot self serve bars; meat counter. Not sure if they have a bakery. Then a bunch of isles that are a bit tighter than a typical whole foods store, but you'll be fine. Lastly, if you validate your ticket and the machine still wants to charge you DTLA parking prices, just hit the help button and you'll get out for the expected amount of zero dollars.
I love shopping at this Whole Foods when downtown. The 45 minute free parking (w/purchase) makes it possible to get what I need and go. The store is clean, the food options are fabulous and I feel very safe there. Security is on top of things so I can focus on shopping. Also, the staff is extremely friendly and the selection is big! I decided to grab food at the hot food bars and have lunch right outside of the building - which is part of the grocer as it's cordoned off for people to eat fast. What is so cool is you are eating your food while surrounded by the hustle and bustle of the city. It is absolutely an amazing experience that offers a glimpse into the life of DTLA.
Absolutely horrendous. I parked my car and was greeted by the parking Gestapo lady. I then went in and bought two coffees for $5 which can be described as lukewarm at best. (All of the flasks were lukewarm except for one which was cold). On the way out, my validated parking ticket didn't work, and the Gestapo lady, who had interrogated me up on an entering the car park some 7 minutes previously, and had seen me walk out with a cup of coffee insisted on seeing my receipt for the coffees. Luckily I had paid by credit card, so the receipt was on my app., yet after showing her the screenshot, she was still reluctant to release me from the prison of Whole Foods car park.
I go to this location every day after work and straight to the hot food bar without any problems, but today, this Platinum Security guard decided to follow me from the entrance to the hot food section and to the cash register to make sure that I paid for my food. So I asked if he wanted to search me, I'm okay with that??? He immediately got angry and said, " Boy, don't come at me with that weak shít" and continued to watch me while I sat in the bar area to eat my food like I do every other day. He kept looking back at me as if he wanted to fight me ?? I'm leaving my complaint, so whenever he does it again, they'll have proof of his bad behavior on file.
First time ever i felt indirectly disrespected. I only had 3 small items and put them on the beltway. Cashier looked at me as if i should not have put them there but no biggie. He rings it up and says nothing. I had to look at the payment panel to find out how much. He never asked if i had a prime card or if i wanted a bag. The capper... he left the items right where he rang them up and i had to reach around and get my items. Before i had even reached he turns to the woman who was behind me, asked if she had a prime card, does she need bags. I started to say something but decided to just leave and never go there again.
My 1st time at this location. I purchased a Luxury Soap Bar - Vanilla Bean, my Favorite! Next time I'll buy a Cappuccino, Mint / Lavender, Mango Soap Bar. Also, I'm gonna get me a Vanilla / Lavender Scented Soy Candle. The only thing missing, is a little dining area to eat in with a microwave. Especially a Reverse Osmosis Ionization Water Dispenser, such as the 1 in Beverly Hills. Other than that, it's really nice, modern looking with Great Natural Products. Very Friendly Helpful Staff -> AWESOME!
This place is trash. I work and live DTLA but will literally drive to Culver City before going to this location. The security will bypass a white homeless person stealing tons of product just to follow a POC around the produce dept (they’re not very discreet with their conversation in the walkies either). Such a very uncomfortable experience. I don’t expect anything to come of this review but I thought I’d waste some time to express how uncomfortable this experience has been.
Unsafe location. A few days ago I witnessed an altercation between a shoplifter and store security. When security grabbed him as he walked out with food, the guy started screaming and threatening to fight and hurt the guard. Who knows if he carried a weapon?? How aggressive and abusive is security allowed to be to stop shoplifting? Additionally, the panhandlers on the sidewalk by the entrance are very aggressive. I'd rather go shopping at a store I feel safe at.
Disgusting that EVERY EMPLOYEE ignored our request for help returning Amazon items! They forced us to use a poorly designed computer kiosk. 7 people waiting over 30 minutes while lazy employees ignored us. They could have made it go so much faster by using their own scanner & sticker system! And it's disgusting that Amazon is off-loading more work onto us! Plus the kiosk is poorly designed with no place to put your phone or other items. Badly thought out!
I can't say enough good things about Whole Foods Market! Whenever I visit, I'm met with friendly and helpful staff who make my shopping experience a breeze. But it's not just the service that keeps me coming back; it's the remarkable quality of their products. Whether I'm seeking fresh, locally sourced items or international delicacies, they have it all. And the prices are incredibly reasonable – I can confidently say that I get the best bang for my buck here!
This whole foods and the Eight bar!!! I frequent the market and the bar at least twice a week. Their deli items are great ranging from tuna salad, kale salad, and other great deli items. There is a pizza bar as well. Love everything about the place. The staff, the produce, the beers on tap, the cocktails, the food, all at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is great as well. The bar has different day items for food such as beers and wings and taco Tuesdays.
This Whole Foods is good. They have organic broccoli rabe and radiccho, which are hard to find in LA. I don't totally understand why produce prices are so high in California when all of it comes from the area. It used to be nicely priced. I tried a new kombucha that was carrot and tumeric and it was nice for aches and pains. The Whole Foods brand hair, skin, and nails supplement is cool. The Traditional Medicine Detox Tea is amazing for eyes and skin.
A small Whole Foods but in the middle of downtown LA that can be a good thing. Easily facilitates quick shopping trips with essential food items, health/beauty products, fresh produce, specialty beer, an abundance of coffee from around the world, food bar, juice bar, gourmet cheeses and even some clothing items. Easily seen through traffic. This store has its own parking w validation so no need to break your head looking for downtown parking!
Was outside at the tables last night after spending about $30, eating my potato salad and catching up with a friend on the phone when the staff that was there I guess to put the chairs away came out and mouthed off to me and was rude af, banging the chairs around like she was pissed. It wasn't even late, I wasn't even doing anything wrong, other people were out there, it was weird!
Great location. Good parking and plenty of light. They have EV charging station. Parking validation is by the checkout counter and lasts 90 min. Huge store and cool nook/area to eat called Verve. Their salad bad area is massive. Workers are nice with plenty of lines open to complete checkout. Would def come back to this location and recommend it to my family and friends.
I have been shopping here consistently for the past two years, but in recent months their parking has become very annoying. I stamp my ticket and when it says ticket unreadable, the attendant always asks how much I spent in the store. Why do they ask this? It seems disrespectful. As long as my ticket is stamped and I’m within 90 minutes, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Lots of different off brands, on the expensive side, a large selection of items. I love their meat section with chicken and beef kabobs. Sometimes long lines and wait times at check out, I use the self serve registers and get in and out quickly. They have a nice small bar and fast food branch next to the market The Eight Bar nice for a quick snack and brew.
Visited Whole Foods with my family on Friday 9th August 2019. I had some Salmon from them, . It tasted so delicious. Who ever is the chef keep him. You need to teach Apple Bees. It is clean has a nice eating area. Has hot foods nice selection of food. I was expecting it to be bigger. Our cashier Luis he was very helpful and pleasant. Will visit again.
The lady in the register was having a bad mood I guess. She surprisingly looked at my own bag and asked do you wanna me to bag your item? I said I am not sure the policy here but I can do it myself. She saids I can do it and out the stuffs really aggressively in my bag. Also I paid for the bag of chips and when I got home, it’s not in my shopping bag.
I love this Whole Foods location! I generally order online and pick-up at the store or get delivery, which is so practical and fast. They have a large meat, produce, and cheese selection and their prices are fair. The coffee shop and bar inside the store offer delicious drinks and food. The staff is always friendly and always helpful.
Large Whole Foods conveniently located downtown. Garage parking available. Standard Whole Foods fare; not the most useful or desired produce, dry goods and sundry. Decent. Convenient to the downtown area. Extended, attached cafe-restaurant-bar. Helpful staff are not readily available, which is newded for the non-intuituve layout.
Everything fresh, organized, quality, and some are organic that I like. Parking 90 min for a shopper is enough and convenient, staff friendly. The only bad thing I can think of is price little bit high compare to some store but is fine due to location and standard. Have a good shopping experience with this store.
The prices are great for organic products. The fresheness of the vegetables and fruits are amazing. Their hot food entre, salads and baked goods are heavenly. Amazing customer service. Oh also the store offers 90 minutes free parking to their customers. One happy and satisfied customer.
This location is very difficult to find parking. They do validation, but I only discovered that after getting in the store. Very busy area. Selection is about standard. Service is fair. Not my favorite place to shop. Overpriced and some food are from China. So, not so healthy to eat.
I love Whole Foods Market even though this love costs me A LOT. This is a great grocery stop if you visit between 9 am and 11, or 2 to 3 pm. Otherwise it’s overpopulated and super crowded. The staff are nice, but the workload makes them jumpier than your regular Whole Foods’ cashier.
The security guards there were so disrespectful and accusatory. They accused my friend of stealing something when she didn't it was clearly just the fact that two black people were shopping in a store where it's not normal to see black people. So we got treated that way unfortunately
the whole store is great but the star of the show is Joshua at the coffee bar! you can tell he really loves coffee and always makes sure my drink is handcrafted with care. ask for a suggestion because he knows everything and his creations are amazing. please give Joshua a raise.
The store is very clean and bright it's also very convenient to travel. There are only top quality of fresh food products. The best thing is that they have fresh organic products which are hard to get in the near markets and shop. You can get all the daily necessity in one go.
Should be zero stars for hygiene. There are probably more dogs roaming the aisles here on any given day than a Petco. The staff doesn't stop them despite the obvious health code violation. I guess these customers must need emotional support to stomach the eye watering prices.
Whole food stores the fastest place to shop for great food their food is fresh and it lasts a long time once I put it in my icebox they are a little expensive but their food is worth it you get what you paid for and they have good cook food too so if you're hungry
Need to add outlet and stop using political view as excuse to remove them since 2019. This isn't a issue in Boston or Tampa. Another staff more worry about homeless then to fix there food fixture and c fold refill with it being depleted most time I go there
Pregnancy craving was a CAKE. SENT MY BOYFRIEND DOWN AT 9:45pm TO GET ME A CAKE BEFORE THEY CLOSED AND TO HIS AND MY SURPRISE THEY HAD LOCKED THE DOORS. Okay whole foods. Change your hours and stop fooling people because now I can’t have my cake …
Oh my gosh, I just love this place. You have got to try the banana nut muffins, they are so delicious; the Chantilly berry cake is so good and you have to go to the refrigerated section to pick out a healthy drink with sea moss in it. Yummy …
Well very well known ,the products section is very organized ,the Fish Meet section has quite a selection of wild caught fish and free range green chicken very attractive ,Price is little higher then Average Grocery stores ,Service is not good
Produce is always out or looks terrible. They also do not employ enough checkout cashiers so the lines can become 30-40 ppl deep. Ralph’s in dtla is a much better option- cheaper, better produce by far, and nowhere near the 35-40 minutes it
I recently discovered Whole Foods Market, and I'm blown away by the exceptional service they provide. Their staff is not only knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly and approachable. I had a unique request for a dietary restriction, and
Whole Foods Market exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. The shelves were stocked with a diverse selection of international products, catering to every
Always a wide selection of products and fresh produce. Their food is always on point and delicious!! I would highly recommend the sriracha cauliflower and the tropical rice. Soooooo good. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they are
Great stop for products that are hard to find elsewhere or to splurge for higher quality products. You'll find pretty much everything fresh and fit for your diet. The market is well organized and the service is great. Will come back soon.
Whole Foods Market is a grocery store that offers a fantastic shopping experience. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a clean and well-organized space, with a wide range of high-quality products that are sure to satisfy any
The best place to shop for good organic food are you don't feel like cooking this is the place they have a variety of Hot food's and soups and salads or if you want something out of the ordinary this is the place to find it
Whole Foods is infinitely better than any other big-chain supermarkets, because it sells so many difficult-to-source yums (see my photos). No need to drive miles/sacrifice sleep/use sick time to rush the farmers’ markets!
This location has cut back its fresh bread program. They sell out before lunch and don't make any more. This was never the case prior to a month or so ago. Probably cost cutting. Best bet: order Amazon fresh etc.
The store is always immaculate, the wait time in line is never crazy even when it's busiest, security's always on site to keep the riff raff out. Try the hummus at the salad bar, maybe the best I've ever had.
Pizza was good:) There chicken bacon white sauce pizza I remember was excellent:) Too bad they didn’t have it this time. It depends I guess on what the pizza guy is making:) It was 2 for $7 that day:)
Exactly what you would expect from this establishment. The cafe is cool, nothing exciting. Nice staff. Clean. Selection is a little less than other, larger Whole Foods, but that's to be expected.
Amazing selection and variety On-site butcher, bakery, mini pizzeria and sushi bar. Plus the indoor parking lot is free for 90 minutes with a $5.00 purchase!! Awesome whole foods location!
The wife and I go here all the time. Theyve got a good produce selection. She says it went downhill since Amazon took it over but I find I get a lot more good deals and convenience
There are too many options, and I like it. The food, the drinks, and everything else in between are awesome. I always try something new to determine whether I like or not.
Best healthy buffet possible. Greens, gains, protein, veggies, fruits, hot foods, you name it. And, nice places to sit inside and out. Free validated parking.
Love shopping in Whole Foods and the one in DTLA is much better than the one in WeHo. It’s busy, but fun! With fresh ingredients and various food.
You could find many interesting healthy products as well as nice plant based ready to go foods. As vegan I really appreciated this place.
Love this supermarket I can have fresh peanuts butter and almond butter and I found some strange fruits last time I went …
Never enough registers open and no express lane. I frequently walk in to grab one or two things and walk right back out again
This is a review only for the bar area - came on a Friday late afternoon, easy to find seating, grab a beer and people watch.
This Whole Foods has the best and kindest people working in it. Oh yeah and the best tuna sandwich in town …
They offer free parking for 90 minutes if you are grocery shopping of Grand Ave. Quality is great and very tidy store.
Qualtity.seafood.fresh selection Mangmt listens to request of products...great deli.. Bakery..juice bar incred . Yup
Always excellent service which I appreciate more than anything else. They take care of what is in their control.
Great craft beer selection and good prices! They had a twelve pack of Voodoo Ranger tall boys for 20 dollars!
Parking, clean, good variety. Would like for them to have breakfast sandwiches like the location in Pasadena
Love love love their smoothie area and the hot meals to go are great. And my kids love live love the pizza.
It has some unique Staf like Straus Milk, cream, good fruit and vegetables, and a lot of shower staff ,
The staff is very friendly and helpful even though I do not speak English. We love the Bread.
Exactly what you expect from Whole Foods- fresh food, food ready to eat and daily supplies.
This is my favorite whole foods in LA. Compact with sufficient parking and great lunch bar
Place is welcoming! I just when to drop off a return from Amazon, people are friendly
really nice place to shop very easy so many options and fresh food.
