Usually electronic/beat based music which gets louder & faster after about 10pm. Inexpensive pizza, a rotating array of local art exhibitors & vintage video games. Draws a young crowd but hip 40 yr olds won't feel awkward.. espec. in afternoon or early evening. Relaxed vibe, no line. Large enclosed balcony seating area, sans roof & with lots of greenery in planters, is not just a design highlight but that increasingly rare commodity: a refuge for smokers & vapers. Can be a bit noisy for easy conversation.

Great outdoor area with ferns and palms adding lush green. Great to chill out on warmer days especially with a light must hitting the spot in the evening. They have a good $10 pizza and cider deal on a weekday lunch too. Its near enough to rmit that it can be busy with students at peak semester times and post exam periods, but usually pretty calm and easy enough to get a table for a small group. Retro video games and art inside all a great bonus.

Staff were pleasant, bar has a pretty cool setting. Pizzas seemed tasty from how they looked. That being said, if you're coming down here to catch up with friends, look for a better place, since with the music is blasting so loud, you can barely hear what anyone's saying and you'll lose your voice by the end of the evening. Feels like they got confused about the primary reason people go to bars - to have a few drinks and a conversation.

The staff always make a place and everyone here is absolutely lovely. Pizzas are also delicious (and Vegan) and the drinks are all reasonably priced. Tuesday nights feature live tunes which is a great way to chill out for the night. Good if you like chill. Not a club banger kind of place and you will not be listening to the top 40 in there. Looove the lay-out and indoor / outdoor area. Probably my fav bar in Melbourne... so far.

Never a bad time here, super chill and quiet during the day, great 12 dollar jugs if you're a student before 5. Delicious 10 dollar pizzas with updated menus every so often, and are generous with the tobacco sauce (I can't tell you the number of bottles I've gone through here with their pizzas), awesome music and lively social scene at nights. This is one of my go to places in Melbourne. The drinks are reasonably priced and whilst the vibe is a bit dark and grungy, this is not a detraction in any way. If anything, it's a good trait. Plenty of places to squirrel yourself away so you can have a robust chat without anyone hearing but you can still hear yourselves. Place has a great vibe and their pizzas are spot on if you're pekish.

Very nice little hidden away bar. You'd definitely just walk right by it (as we did multiple times) before finding it! Once you've found it you'll love it. Their beer selection is very vast and their outside seating area is pretty good too. The atmostphere is great and so are the bar staff. They're clued up about their beers and what the selection is, very useful for recommendations.

Eclectic industrial style decor, a bar stocked with enough craft beers that will make your man bun spin and awesome tunes that will make you hit the Shazam button so many times you'll get RSI. This place epitomises Melbourne's bar culture. It would be perfect if the food on offer was a bit more diverse but that's hardly an excuse not to come and visit this place at least once.

Such a Melbourne spot for me. There are better bars if you’re looking for a cocktail but you’re at workshop for the vibe. Nothing fancy, kind of hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for but it’s such a great space to hang out with your friends. Go early to nab one of the tables outside (if you don’t mind the smoke).

Cool place for late night drinks. There are a number of booths, and an outside section with lots of plants and an open roof. Cons: -People can smoke in the outdoor area and the smoke wafts in through the window. -I had the ‘Melon head’ cocktail jug ($29) and I’m pretty sure it was just soda water with pink syrup in it.

Lovely setting with private booths if desired. Really nice crowd and vibes. Chilled out security up for a chat and a laugh while still being professional. Pizza is in good proportions, cocktails are great but normal drinks overpriced (beer and a cider for $22, cocktail jug for $29) Hopefully will be back again :)

Not a bad venue, but for just a casual sit down drink there's better places in the city. The slightly cramped, dark and oddly laid out space feels like a dingy dive, with the only semi redeemable aspect being the balcony. The beer selection is tiny and fairly uninspired. Not my first pick, but good in a pinch.

Good atmosphere and comfy seats. Wasn't too crowded or too loud so you could still have a conversation while enjoying being in a bar. Bar staff were fantastic. One guy helped us with recommendations so we tried some new drinks and he was always up for a chat. Overall a great place for a drink.

Super trendy rooftop bar upstairs with both indoor and outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the view... and the plethora of plants they have hanging from the ceiling! Love their Pimms Jug and I've heard the food is pretty spot on as well. Friendly staff and very, very cool place to hang out!

Such a groovy, chill place! If you're coming to Melbourne and want to experience something Melbourne-y, The Workshop here has occasional live music events, arcade games and a bar in an industrial-like setting that makes it all so...groovy! Good vale drinks too, will be coming again!

This place will actually refuse you a drink if you look unwell. That's a positive in my book. They also served ginger beer which makes this place even better. Other than that I don't remember the rest of the night. Only left the place with positive feelings, the good kind..

Decent place for a drink. Occasionally the music is a bit loud if you're going to be able to hear your friends speak and the pizzas are fair play that average. Everything is reasonably priced and fairly casual though, so if you're not expecting too much it's a solid place.

Nice beer to have for your late nights :) Minus one-star as the slice of pizza is like a microwave heated. But I would say this is one of must places in Melbourne to enjoy the chill vibe! Tip: All tap beers are $10 each every thursday!

Such a lovely venue. Will definitely give them more stars but the bar tenders and everyone who was in charge there had the worst attitude. Went there with a large group of people and all the staff was very patronising and had 0 customer service professionalism.

Place is good for drinks and nibbles...but if you are looking for having a conversation...that ain't possible...they have a live DJ and is full of loud music...gets difficult to have a conversation. Easy to get by, bar is well stocked and fun to be at.

Great bar on the edge of CBD with a decent selection of small brewery beers. And 4 pizzas (varying from online) for$10 each with a $5 beer option. Smokers get all the outdoor section, no food allowed out there because of smokers - great for smokers ;)

Everything I come to Melbourne I come to this bar. It has a jungle warehouse vibe on the outside and a warm wonderland with a moderate sized dance floor on the inside. The staff are always kind and on the off times the drink specials are pristine.

Quirky bar that feels very ‘Melbourne’. Good vibe to it, pretty hipster. Decent beer list. Has a nice sort of terrace / semi-open space that’s cool, although it does get a little smokey at times. Worth going in for a pint or two.

Workshop is the best kind of dingey. A bit of greenery livens up the place and there is always new local art on the walls to appreciate. It's popular with the student crowd and the musical selection is a bit left of centre.

Great drink spot. Smoking area outside/inside which is rare. Good drinks - good prices. Staff are down for a chat / laugh and so are the security guards. It's chill, it's a place that you can get a spot, have a good time.

Beautiful bar staff chill relaxed location with lots of sports to hide away or socialise in. Plenty of room to roam food to eat and huge variety of booze to drink. Will be coming back again and again. Nice one peeps.

Good place. It usually gets pretty crowded on Fridays and Saturdays and finding a spot to sit could be quite challenging. Has a great vibe and would recommend if you go there with friends to relax and drink a bit.

Great place for a beer, coffee or quick bite to eat. Playing all the good tunes with a great open roofed garden area. One of Melbourne's hidden gems. Also showcases some of the cities upcoming artists and dj's.

One of the best bars I've been to. You can't expect to be a bar as spectacular like this on a Beckett St. So cozy, so good. Definitely a one to explore for the first timers.
