This museum amazed me it is free to enter and explore , they just ask for a donation if possible . There is so much to see over five floors . They have the most mummies I have ever seen and the natural history section is phenomenal, there is something amazing around every corner, I saw loads of children in awe of the dinosaur collection . And they have a wonderful look and touch section where again all the children and the adults all indulged themselves . They have a space section where you can actually pick up a piece of what too me was an incredibly heavy piece of meteorite. I loved the way the museum was laid out inside and it had access for everyone to all floors with lifts . Very well sign posted inside . The staff were very informative and very pleasant and patient considering how busy it was . The museum has a great shop and the stuff was reasonably priced . A wonderful , beautiful and fascinating place to visit . Go and enjoy the history and fascinating artifacts in this collection.

One of Liverpool’s best museums. Myself and my partner had a wonderful time. I love all museums where as he is quite specific and he loved seeing all the bugs and nature areas. All of it was quite amazing, except for the space area which felt like a lot more could have been added. A lot of the museum had lots of empty space which more could have been placed. Overall we had a good time, but we did not visit the paid exhibition of Return of the Gods as we felt that it would not be worth it seeing what the museum had to offer. The gift shop also had lots of items completely unrelated to the museum. If you’re in Liverpool, definitely visit it for a family day out.

Worth a visit if you haven't been before, but beware the warm claustrophobic overcrowding of families on holidays and weekends! Multiple tiered building, so you can either take the lift (which would most likely be packed) or the hundreds of stairs. Live fish in the small aquarium section, and bugs in the bug floor (cool ants and tarantulas!), but seem very compacted in their habitat spaces. There's a suggested donation, with the opportunity to store your bags in the locker room in front of the gift shop. Ultimately a place for families and kids for children's playing interaction!

Very nice museum, walking distance from Lime Street railway station. Extra like: they have a little wildflower meadow to help pollinators. The planetarium wasn't open due to a technical problem, but the rest was great. Each storey has a different theme: space and time, dinosaurs and prehistoric life, ancient Egypt and mummies, an aquarium, and one level was having a temporary exhibition about ancient Greek mythology that we didn't visit. The cafe was great, nice kids' menu, I tried the scouse which was good, the gift shop was amazing, the bathrooms were clean.

Great experience that’s absolutely free!!! Note to people who haven’t visited before the main entrance to the museum is on the left when facing the building, the library is on the right. The main steps at the front are no longer used. There are paid sections or tour’s available on the day at £3-£5 per person but there’s still plenty to do without paying. We managed to park outside the museum as it was not kids holidays, note when we used the pay and display machine, the chip & pin wasn’t working so we had to use cash. Lots more to do and see from here as well.

I visited this museum only to see the aquarium. Owing to time constraints, I was unable to see anything else and I enjoyed what I saw. The only suggestion that I have would be to have at least one member of staff to monitor this section of the museum. I noticed one or two people (namely adults) who were tapping on the glass of some of the displays and this is unacceptable behaviour. It would be prudent to have a member of staff nearby who could intervene in such circumstances. The displays were absolutely lovely and it was visually enticing to see so many colourful fish.

Nice day out for the kids with plenty to see and do, a fairly central location and it's free! There's usually an exhibition that is a ticketed event both that is only a few pounds. I found the Greek Gods exhibition to be pretty dull though, it was very well advertised but there's very little to actually see. Cafe prices a little expensive but that's to be expected as this is where they make the money to stay open. All in all a good day out

What a fantastic little museum, with a bit of everything that kids have loved for decades, from ancient Egyptian mummies to even more ancient dinosaurs, to a planetarium to see above the planet and an aquarium to see the depths below. I would comment on the cost of the cafe, but the midterm is free, and the food is good quality, so think that works out fair. Fantastic for a day out, and it's on the yellow and red open top your bus routes, (not sure about blue though)

Great museum. Exhibitions are over 5 floors and Still operating a one way system up and down the stairs (or may be they just hadn't removed the stickers) but it flowed well. I only saw one lift and there were queues on every floor. Exhibitions were good. Had to pay to see some of them but was able to buy tickets on the phone rather than going back down to the ground floor. Would recommend.

The only issue was the lift, it wasn't just being used for those that were unable to use the stairs which then meant those who had to use the lifts were waiting quite a while to get on. This museum is free to enter, so please donate a little something when you are inside. 4 floors of exhibits , which are always changing, from space exploration to ancient Egypt. We'll worth a visit to pass a few hours away. Several exhibitions were tickets only and were getting busy, unfortunately too busy to take my wheelchair bound child with special needs.

Amazing place! Definitely requires patience when using the lift because there's only two but considering the place is free is definitely worth visiting. Staff were helpful and friendly and has a lot of interesting things to look at and is a great place for kids! Parking situation is dire and expensive but it is in the centre of Liverpool so can't blame them.

I was really looking forward to this museum but going on a Saturday probably wasn't a great idea. Toddlers everywhere, running around and screaming. It's hard to complain about a free museum but it just wasn't worth the time or effort. The Egyptian stuff was good but other than that, nothing was really that great. If you're already in the area, it can't hurt to check out but I wouldn't waste time going out of the way to go there.

I’ve been here a few times now, it is a great museum. It’s got so much to look at and brilliant to take the kids for a couple of hours to keep them busy! My only issue is the lifts when I’ve had the pram, they’re a little out of control I think, they don’t go in any order so can spend a while in them trying to get to whichever floor wanted.

Amazing, we paid for the planetarium which was awesome (maybe too relaxing) we paid to see the war of the gods exhibition too, but that was far too much money for the 20 minutes it took to wall around, it really wasn't worth the 16 for 2 adults, at least the kids were free! But all in all its an amazing place, we spent most of the day here, and the kids loved it. I'd happily visit again. Ps the scones were amazing!.

Just the best museum in the northwest. It will take you a full day to fully explore all the floors and the exhibits. Not only are the exhibits amazing but the actual building itself is stunning. Free entry and if you're parking I'd recommend parking around the corner in the pay and displays. Far cheaper than the qparks in the city.

An interesting museum with exhibitions regarding marine biology, natural history, astronomy, theology, Egypt and 18th & 19th centuries orientalism. I would recommend to visit the museum after 3pm on a weekday because of the otherwise prevalence of large groups of children. The lighting on some displays could be a lot better.

Very nice museum. Quite big and as lot of areas it has covered. From fossils of dinosaur, ancient fish, reptile, amphibians etc. One floor specifically for ancient Egypt. Fantastic museum with plenty to see. They ask for a voluntary donation of £5 for entry. Some of the areas not very modern and the items on display are really fascinating. I think the only areas that let the place down are the dinosaur and space exhibitions as they haven't changed much at all in 20 years and it is really starting to show.

I liked world museum and would go again on a rainy day. There is a cafe and plenty of toilets too. They are clean regularly. The best part is the aquarium on the first level. What a joy to see the fish. I liked the moon jellyfish the most. Free entrance but a £5 donation is very welcomed. Good for family!

Visited the museum this week and loved it! There's so much to do and see, I was pleasantly surprised how many floors the museum has! I especially loved the large Egyptian mummy exhibit, and the aquarium. The cafe was also very good with lots of seating and food options. Finding toilets was a little tricky here.

Absolutely brilliant place! For all age kids, teenagers and adults too. We really enjoy it! The place is maintained very well, the staff is top class- positive & helpful. Highly recommend to visit if you have a chance!

A vast and diverse museum with exhibitions on 5 floors. The entrance was free. The experience is quite interesting doe both adults and kids. Some parts are a bit dated, like the dinosaurs area. The cultural heritage part is very cool. Also, it is quite centrally located.

A very big building but many of the exhibits were a bit underwhelming. The Egyptian part was probably the best. Some of the lights didn't work and people used the lift for anything. We had a pram and really needed the lift, but at times it was just unavailable.

Went down to see return of the gods exhibition, very interesting stuff even if you know alot about already. The exhibition was brilliant, taught me couple things I didn’t know!
