Zambrero as a brand must revaulate what it actually means to service Mexican food. Went in and ordered a regular bowl Chicken itself was like pulpy texture and seems to be made for a baby, could not taste any chicken. The most spiciest salsa they have is like a sweet tomato sauce at the best. The portion of the bowl also seems to be on the smaller side. The food itself put me off the whole brand from now on. This review has got nothing to do with the staff as they were excellent and did what was asked of them but this is not even close to what should be called a Mexican food.

Last time I ordered from here was super distasteful to say the least. Although the cuisine here is meant to be Mexican, my burrito bowl chicken was coated in what seemed to be Indian spices and it tasted like more of an Indian cuisine rather than Mexican. Although I deeply do enjoy Indian food, on this occasion it didn’t mix well with the other Mexican ingredients. I hope that the flavours are better suited to the cuisine in future.

The Zambrero in Carmel Village at Box Hill is really good. Tried the signature vege burrito bowl with spicy cauliflower that tasted amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. No tables available inside the restaurant however there qre a few tables outside. Lots of parking available.

Very disappointed. Ordered 2 Bowls and a taco’s from here on uber. 1 of the bowls and 1 taco had a long piece of hair in them. quite disappointed, the food for what i ate was nice, but after finding hair in 2 different meals. chucked it all in the bin and now going through uber for a refund. Get some hair nets for your workers.

Been there like 5-6 times now, the staff don’t seem very confident and competent at all. First thought maybe it was a one off but every time we go there it honestly gets worse some how, maybe try adding a decent manager in the store or better training methods? It’s really bad compared to a lot of other stores unfortunately.

New shop looks amazing! The staff were so accommodating as I’m a type 1 diabetic and have some dietary restrictions, they were more than happy to help with suggestions on what to try. 10/10 service will definitely be back!

Absolutely Zero flavour, chicken is like baby mush, worst tier Mexican you can get. Woke up at 4am with explosive diarrhoea. I’d rather starve than eat this rubbish presented as “Mexican” food.

Overall it’s not very nice tasting. The chicken is like mush. Very clean and nice staff

I think this is the best Mexican food within a 30 min drive. Recommend the nachos.
