Pastiera (grain pie) - out of this world, Sfingi & zeppoli (both St. Joseph pastry made perfect) Pastaciot…. Other “Italian” places don’t even know what these are! Most telling - their prices reflect that it’s not about the money! But feeding us the best. In the true Italy family spirit. It’s about 40 years or so and I won’t go anywhere else.

Want THE BEST OLD FASHIONED ITALIAN BREAD? Pastry and cakes with old fashioned flavor? This is the place. Their cakes, pastry, pies, and cookies are incredible . They are indescribably delicious and fresh. Everything I try is made the way it was made years ago; old world goodness. We started to go once weekly when we found their Jumbo NY Black and Whites had the time tested flavor of yesteryear that virtually disappeared from other bakeries. They are on a definite par with the best Italian bakeries in both the Bronx and Manhattan. The only difference is the price which is much less expensive than all the others! The staff is very, very nice and though youngsters, are very friendly and patient with people who have a hard time deciding what to buy. They are located on Buhre Avenue in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx. Get there early for bread, cookies, and Tea biscuits; they go fast. Must try products: Tea Biscuits, Seeded Heros ,Black Pepper Biscuits, Ricotta cream filled pastries and breadsticks.

Cake was good. Not to excited with the visual of it, was plain Jane, NO imagination even after I told her it was a 50th Birthday. No Happy 50th written on it, there was room. I had to buy the candles to make it look like a 50th BD cake. When it was time to pay I didn't have cash on me only CC, went to an ATM came back to the bakery only to hear the girl behind the counter talking about who comes in to buy without cash, she quickly stopped talking after noticing I was the person with no cash. What I don't understand is why that establishment doesn't take CC. As I was paying her I told her, sorry I don't carry cash, making sure she knew that I heard her. I'll probably go back but not the 1st choice on my list for the next occasion. I gave it a 2 star for her limited professionalism.

The 3 young ladies working there tonight 6/9/23 were so unhelpful, and in such a rush to leave with such a dismissive attitude towards another customer and I. We stated we were unaware that they didn’t take Apple Pay so we asked to go to the Chase Bank literally right next-door and they told us we wouldn’t be allowed back in if we leave because the clock had just struck 8. She had my cake that I was going to purchase in her hands already and told me I wouldn’t be able to purchase it. No compassion for people. Definitely gives this bakery a bad look. I will not be returning and I will let everyone in the neighborhood know about my lovely experience.

As a family we have been customers for 50 years. The bread and famous “S” rolls have the same taste as they did in 1970. That tells you a lot. I had one today with butter and a fresh cup of fine coffee. Great prices too. This family strives for excellence and they succeed in doing so. I hope the next generations will appreciate the quality of the bread and pastry you get at Zeppieri. In the 50 years i have always received great service from the girls behind the counter. Today was just superb. Wishing them continued success. Please patronize this store. We need to keep them always going strong so they can remain one of the best in the City

Zeppieri & Sons have made some amazing, delicious cakes for our friend's party so we began to get cakes from them for our parties as well. They don't need much advanced notice to make the cakes, and are helpful in terms of suggestions involving the size and design. I got my wife's cake from them for her birthday too, and usec one of the pictures from their Instagram because she loved and wanted it. Even though they were saying that the cake was too big for our needs and amount of people, we got it anyway and it was a hit. We will keep coming back for our bakery needs.

Best bakery in the Bronx by far!!! They say their specialties are bread and cake, but everything I've ever had from this bakery is beyond scrumptious!! Yes, definitely try the bread, but I would also recommend anything with their homemade cannoli filling - from classic mini and large cannoli to a cake with cannoli cream filling. Huge selection of cookies and pastries too! If you plan to go on a holiday like Easter or Christmas, definitely order ahead or go as early in the day as possible, because the line of people will undoubtedly be around the block!

I went three times out of my way to the bakery to order a cake for a party and was sent away because only one person takes orders. The girls in the front are extremely rude I guess because I went three times to try. Then they have a sign saying "Prices change according to customers attitude" like that's poor customer service... After the girl with the really bad tan gave me a bad look on the third day telling me once again the guy was not available, I just went somewhere else for my 4 tier cake. They not doing me a favor, I was a paying customer.

1 of a few bakeries that make lemon meringue pie, and theirs is the best. I usually purchase strawberry shortcake for birthdays and their strawberry shortcake is out of this world. I also love cheesecake, but without a bottom crust. This is the only bakery that actually makes an outstanding crustless cheesecake. They also sell high quality, fresh rolls like challah rolls, club rolls, poppy seed rolls, seseme seed rolls, onion rolls and more. Highly recommend this bakery for all your baked goods needs.

I was looking for a desert to serve at an event on New Year's Eve. I bought a large chocolate cake but then ran into a problem while bringing it home. I went back into the store & the manager was very friendly & helpful. The cake was delicious. Everyone at the event was raving about it. The service that I received was even better. The only downfall is that they don't accept cards, so come prepared with cash. But because of the service that I received, they now have a customer for life!

Cakes and pastries are usually great... not sure if the young ladies working at the counter are new or they really hate their job, lack of customer service, rushing you to order, impatiently asking you what else you need giving you attitude when you take time making your choices ... i'm paying for the goods and not asking anything for free, these girls get their salary from us the customers... really bad experience, i would come back but when I last visited the service was lacking

I bought my first cake here on my daughter's first birthday 4 years ago and just ordered one for my second daughter's 3rd birthday.. They'll do their best to make your cake the way you want it. And their cookies are still $10 a lb and it's great that you can get a variety of cookies not just a certain kind. Their pastries and breads are delicious and always fresh. . For someone who lives far I'd rather travel here than to little Italy for my cakes.

Zeppieri & Sons Italian Bakery is one the *Absolute BEST*, and a *TRUE Staple* here in The Bronx. They treat Everyone like Family, they treat all the kids like their own nieces and nephews. ALL the pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, etc. Are made with heart! My Family and I Love them ALL!

I'm not too well versed in this bakery's history but just by walking in you can tell this place is a staple in the neighbourhood and has served the area and community for a very long time. I have been a patron of this bakery for 15 + years and everything I have ever purchased has been loved and praised. Love and heart baked into every detail of their work is clearly evident and I strongly encourage you to experience this as well.

While the girls that work there are the best the cake simply was not. I ordered a strawberry shortcake at the last minute and was so happy that they were able to fill my order, until I got home. The cake that I ordered was a “naked cake” and this was not. In addition, the strawberry compote tasted like it was from a can and wayyy too sweet...not fresh at all. While I could return for the bread and coffee. Cake is off the menu.

I love their breads, especially the semolina rolls. Most of the things I have gotten from here are fresh, baked from the same day, with the exception of some elephant ears. The cakes taste really good if you are a fan of butter icing. I am not so I just eat the cake itself which tastes so so good. The Italian cookies are good, not amazing, the raspberry ones and the sesame ones (sorry don't know their names) are my go-to.

Some days are hit or miss on all levels! Some days the pastry is fresh and the adolescent staffs attitude is at a minimum, other days the pastries are stale along with the attitudes of the young, all girl front staff!! It's always wonderous stepping in here, almost never a comfortable feeling, never knew dealing with a bakery could be such a panic driven endeavor. The cannolis have always been good though...

It is absolutely incredible!!! I came in March 12, 2022 at 7pm and the girls were excellent. They were very helpful and very knowledgeable. I got the vanilla Napoleon which is absolutely to die for. I recommend this bakery over any and every bakery and especially if you feel your bakery is the best ,well it’s NOT!!!!! Zeppieri and sons will now and forever take the cake. (NO PUN INTENDED)!!

I come all the way from PA to get my hands on their amazing pastries. I could go crazy in here. Hands down the best cannoli and cream puffs I have had in my life! My husband went back in to get more because, they were so delicious. The staff is super friendly and you can't beat the prices. We purchased a huge bag of pastries and it was under $15.00. I will come here for the rest of my life!

The sfogliatelle was good, and great price for the big size. I got there later in the afternoon and they weren't very crunchy, so possibly my fault for not getting the fresh ones. I wish they had lobster tails! Had a brownie and 2 rum custard things. Meh. The custard cups were soggy and didnt taste anything like rum and the brownie was okay. The staff was very friendly. I keep coming back to Zeppieri & Sons Italian Bakery because everything is delicious. Last week it was the peach pie and the amazing chocolate chip cake (which doesn't describe all that's going on in this cake) today I purchased the lemon meringue pie and my birthday cake for Tuesday. Just look in the window then order what's freshly baked and delicious you won't be disappointed.

I hate places that only accept cash we are in 2020 people use venmo or cashapp if you don't want to pay the 3% credit card charge. With that said it's a great place. Swung by just to get some a sample of their cookies and ended up getting their pumpkin pie. So good that I wanted to bring it into work. Two days by 7 it was sold out and had to order it for Wednesday morning.

Wow, a pleasant walk back in time, the way life used to be! Every kind of desert,pastry, bread and large assortment of birthday and cakes ready to go. Everything baked fresh. Prices are incredible....you'll have enough money left over to get a glass or two of vino at a local restaurant. Reminds me of the shops in the seventies, when I was a kid. I love this local bakery , you walk by and the aroma of fresh baked goods fill the air. They make your standard Italian pastries , cannoli's , napoleons and lobster claws .Their best kept secret is their cakes. Carmine is an outstanding baker , who is so talented . He has made my sons birthday cakes for the past 2 yrs. So delicious and the prices are unbelievable .

This is hands down one of the best bakery's in the area. They are reasonably priced and they do fabulous work. Had a cupcake emergency for a baby shower and they were the only local bakery able to shell out 50 cupcakes the morning of the party. I bought these ginger bread cookies but they do y taste like gingerbread cookies. They have an off taste. I can’t say if it is stale but really it kind off taste like Stella doro sponge cookies. It’s a lingering taste. I threw it out. It so bad my stomach killing me headed home now take pepto. Their stuff usually on key but not this.

We left the Bronx over a decade ago, but there's no place like home!! We make sure someone can pick up our Zeppieri favorites for every family gathering!! It's a very clean busy good smelling bakery. They have just about everything you can think of and their Italian bread is really good. Sfrugstells are really good. The only inconvenient things is that it's s cash only place but on the upside they have great prices.

Their pastries are delicious and always fresh! On my last visit, I tried the cupcakes- vanilla and chocolate... Amazing! I also recommend their red velvet cake, which is to die for. On a side note: be sure to have cash on you because they do not accept cards.

First off the selection is phenomenal. He aroma alone makes you want to eat a piece of anything you purchased before you even walk out of the store. The staff are pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful with family ideas for pastries.

Skip. Not the best. Perhaps better than homemade if your Mother couldn't bake... There is better. Most people double park to pick up, so driving farther, for better shouldn't be out of the question. Arthur Avenue, for example.

I've been going here all my life (32yrs) once in a whole little issues but this was by far the most disappointing cake I've ever gotten from here. It was so soft it wasnt even form it was all mush smh

Great bakery! I use to travel all the way to Carlo's in Hoboken, but not anymore. Zeppieri's is much better, the workers are polite, and they play great music.
