I love running this nature trail, has lots of winds and turns. There really is not much in terms of nature and floral viewing. There is a beautiful lake and many bridges you can cross. Eventually the trail leads to the shore after many steep inclines and declines. I will estimate the trail is 1-2km long.

It’s a decent place to hike, and can be done after walking along the promenade. Not a very challenging hike and it doesn’t require any special equipment. The only issue we noticed was that a few areas were closed off to foot traffic, so at one point you have to make a U turn and go back. More

It was the first time visiting this beautiful sanctuary. Amongst lush greenery, there were so many beautiful butterflies and unusual creatures to spot. It was an experience good for the soul. Preferable to go in the morning. Beware of the wasps. Go with company! It's also not safe.

I’m a Joburger so I’m very paranoid when it comes to crime, so I was relieved nothing happened to me while on the trail especially because it was quiet and I walked past about 2/3 people. It’s short too which is great because I’m not much of a walker. Overall I enjoyed the walk.

Absolutely beautiful. Lovely for a morning walk or a walk at any time really. Very neat and clean, well maintained. It's a very serene atmosphere. You get glimpses of the beach and can hear the ocean along the way. If I lived in Durban I'd definitely be here every day.

Quiet and tranquil, trails in the woods with sounds of birds. It's a good spot to go jogging, walking or an imaginary treasure hunt with the kids. There are toilets as well and a long wooden bridge over the water with a trail leading to the beach.

️️ A small nature rerserve in the Northwest of Umhlanga Rocks. While walking on small tracks you get a little bit of jungle feeling. At the end you hear the roaring sound of the Indic esp. at high tide. Finally walking, jumping downstairs

Nice gateway very close to the estates. It's nice and relaxed by the dunes. Usually very quite where you enjoy the nature. On windy days it's hard to use your sun umbrella by the beach side so you need to be careful. The path by the small

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful scenery, you can take of your shoes and go barefoot om that trail as it makes you feel like you are in some movie scene. While on the trail, you are sheltered from the wind because of the trees that provides

Although the main entrance to the Nature Reserve is closed, there is an alternate entrance next to a Hawaan building. Parking is on the road side. There is a paved pathway which leads to the beach and a natural pathway to the left of the

Still some rehabilitation in progress so not fully open. But walkway is neat and well looked after. Path through the forest is clear of debris. Saw a couple of small buck, lizards and plenty of birdlife. A super cup of coffee after. Kids

Gem of a hiking trail. Not usually busy, however on weekends after 10am it does tend to get crowded. Safe trail, opportunity to spot a few animals also along the way. Security guards posted at different points along the trail, safety is

Very beautiful! I would do it repeatedly, especially because the trail leads to the beach so you have an option of returning the way you came or feel the sand through your feet and enjoy the breeze …

The trail is not that hard, it's actually good for a lazy walk. You can take along kids. It looked like they were upgrading the boardwalk during my visit. I will definitely visit again whenever I'm around Umhlanga

Tranquil, therapeutic, refreshing nature easily accessed through a leisurely walk. About 2.5km one way to the end of the path which ends at the edge of the "forest." Punctuated with a quaint coffee shop. More

What a great place to just escape to, clear your mind and forget about the negatives. Beautiful natural scenery and awesome trails. It truly is an exceptional getaway right here in our very own Durban.

Great trail with some wildlife roaming free. The vervet monkeys may become aggressive, so be mindful of that. There is some nice birds and other animals in the park. Great find at the end of the beach.

This ia Good place to escape from the city, kids enjoy the trail always and we cannot wait for the whole reserve to be fully operational since some parts of the trail are still closed due maintanance.

Visted the serene sanctuary. Sighted a number of birds... a little robin among the reeds. A stroll across the wooden broad walk and finally onto the beach. A lovely day spent with my beautiful family

Easy trail and lovely views. The trail couldn’t be completed due to restoration of beach, probably due to recent rains/flooding. Enjoyable and well maintained. More

This is one of our favourite places to go for a walk in nature. It's so peaceful and the fact that it leads to the beach makes it even better. My kids love it.
