Dark man-made hills are the most interesting part of what is left behind of the now-closed mineshaft near the village of Kurovskoy. The mines were opened in 1958 and ceased to exist in the beginning of the post-Soviet era. Brown coal was the main natural resource excavated from the ground in these mines. There are also some abandoned buildings near the well-observed spoil tip.
