Worst bookstore in Pakistan. I added to my cart (in liberty books website) a book called incoherence of philosophers when it says that this book was in stock. Then when I went to their shop, they said the book was not there, when in fact thier website said it was in stock. Then the employee sent me to thier branch in forum mall in Karachi to take the book since they told that the book is in branch in forum. I went there and found that they didn't have. Because, the employee in that branch, said that there is no book of this in our branch but it only appears in the system that it is in our branch. Then when I went back to first branch I visited, then I found that the book's author name was written incorrectly by the technical team of liberty books. And there are more issues which continued. Finally, I couldn't buy the book because of all of these issues and because I had a flight to another country. Worst bookstore in Pakistan.

I went there today (12 May 2022) to buy a book that the DMC Branch told me is available at this branch. It took their staff a while to find it however after they got the book I waited for over 20 minutes for the person at the checkout counter to finish up the processing of a customer! The customer's order was for 16,000 Rs that they paid in cash. I don't know what it was that the person at the checkout counter was doing or what orders / wishlist the customers were adding to that they wasted 20 minutes doing! I had no choice but to leave the book and simply walk out the store! I am NOT going to bother with Liberty Books ever again! Second hand book sellers at Sunday Bazaars and roadside sellers have better customer service even when taking wishlist requests! This branch specifically has pathetic customer service!

  • Mubashir Nazim

Such a disgusting company this is for their employees specially Retail staff. Paying them 20k-23k a month for 12 hours and 6 days a week without any increments and yearly bonuses in this difficult time. Even their managers are paid 30k, they does not follow any Labor laws and also they does not even respect their employees who are working for them for quite a time. No future for the staff in this company. Even for the customers the prices are way too high, they removed the actual price tag from the books and then charge too much from the customer. Go for Readings instead of Liberty books for fair prices. NOT RECOMMANDED. PS: I'm not an employee of this chuss company neither an employee of readings. This reviews is purely based on combined views of the staff working in the company right now.

  • Aamir Bilal

The range of choice is above good. They arrange books that are not available at 50% advance and a wait of 4-6 weeks. They open a bit late and their Urdu collection is very limited. Sadly their narrow minded manager who happens to be a mullah oriented scans books which you order. I once placed a graphic novel titled HABIBI by Craig Thompson which was scanned by that manager and as they had already imported a seven thousand rupees novel, they could not just destroy it in the name of God, so they let that reach me. But when I placed the order for another copy of Habibi I was denied citing it to be too "vulgar for Islamic society" by their staff. You can imagine the mindset of the workplace. Liberty, the irony.

  • S. Mujtaba Abbas

Good collection of books. However, many times some books are not available. Despite that a good collection. They should have arrangements to make order for a specific book and should get that to customers in 7-10 days if it is not in their stocks. Discounts are dependant on Banks credit and debit card. Liberty offers their own discount only once or twice a year for specific few days as promotion. It should be improved e.g. every Sunday discount kind of promotions by Liberty itself to encourage books shopping and reading. Fulfills the need of a good bookstore chain in many areas of the city. A good service to facilitate those who love reading books.

  • Shaheen Nauman

I have always enjoyed visiting Liberty Books, it does not matter which branch of the bookstore I go to, whether it is Dolmen Mall Clifton, Tariq Road or the shop at Luckyone Mall or the shop in Clifton in the vicinity of Bar B Q Tonite. The staff is very courteous & helpful in looking for the book. If they can not find they search the title of the book or the authors name through the computer & locate the book. I was joyed to see young girls at the payment counter & the girls in different aisles of the shelves of the bookstore. Liberty Books also has a discount on different bank cards as well. Do avail yourself of this opportunity.

  • Imran Ahmed

Great place to browse books, especially about Pakistan or by local authors. A lot of Pakistan related coffee table books on offer here too. The bookstore has lots of titles available in its basement too so don't miss the downstairs! The outlet is a few shops away from the excellent BBQ Tonight restaurant so drop by after or before a meal. Note the shop doesn't have much available in the way of stationery items. It's essentially only a bookshop. One of many outlets dotted around Karachi.

  • Atiq Massan

A nice book store but lacks books that are best in its class. It needs a lot of research and needs a librarian level of person who works to make it better. Sales people only knew what was where, but nothing about books. It would be best if part time bookaholics are hired for help out (after 6 pm) people coming there were trying to guess what they wanted to take extra. Plus store needs a person from whom ANY book could be requested for import.

  • Ali Raza

The richest bookstore in Pakistan in terms of quality and variety of books from the world over. The ambience of the store is just perfect. Their customer service is one of the most professional ones. You can get book club membership and enjoy exciting offers by becoming one of the loyal customers. You can even order any book from any where in the world by their request a book service. Liberty Books is any book reader's paradise....

  • Iqbal Hussain

Great place for book lovers. They have a wide range of titles relating to both fiction and non-fiction (particularly on management and self-development). There's also a good selection of books for children of all ages. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer discounts on certain credit cards. Good website for online ordering of books that may not currently be in stock which they can get from their suppliers abroad.

  • Nida Naseer

Book shop with one of biggest collection for all type of titles. The basement has a huge collection of off rate items, which includes both hard and soft back copies. The staff is super helpful in finding the title you are looking for. In case you can't find your title, they can order it for you and have it delivered to your home or the branch. Make sure to avail discounts on various credit and debit cards

  • Sajjad Abro

Liberty is certainly one of the few but best chains of bookstores in Pakistan. It has a good collection of books on different topics. However I am often disappointed when I don't find books on science, philosophy, anthropology, criminology, neuroscience, sociology etc. It has fine collection on fiction, current affairs, world politics, biographies and child literature.

  • Mahjan

Liberty books is one of the oldest book stores in Pakistan. As the number of book reading enthusiasts is decreasing day by day such shops are blessings for the people who still love to read books. Liberty books has large variety of books and are also able to arrange a particular title if they don't have it and you request them. Their staff is courteous and efficient.

  • Andrea Maffi

Cctv are in the shop but nonetheless staff from the shop had to follow me to check if I wasn't stealing. After having asked suggestion for a title the guy I asked to rolled his eyes like I was asking him some annoying question. For the second title they gave me a book from a wrong author. I didn't feel welcomed at all.

  • David Kenney

A very good experience. All the best new titles and many classics available, as well as "bargain basement" offerings. So pleasing to browse a bookshop instead of surf web pages. Service is good, but watch out for the credit card discount deals - you need the Gold or Platinum version to avail of the discounts.

  • Asra Shan Balouch

Spacious ground n 1 story book store. I believe reading a book has its own charm. M quiet old school so prefer to buy a kid a nice book. Probably the only branded store we have. Kids section has a wide variety, other wise lol other book can be found on karachiz stalls around Gulshan too.

  • Maha Aftab

A book heaven for readers. There's such a huge variety of books and educational toys available there that it's my son's favourite store. Plus, there's a selarate activity area for kids where they can sit and make puzzles. And the round reading area for kids is just the best thing ever.

  • Marvi Jawed

Decent collection of books especially some titles from popular media you wouldn't expect to be available in Pakistan, for example books recently launched by YouTube creators. However sadly their architecture collection is lacking, even a few very common/popular titles aren't available

  • Saqib Khan

If you love reading, trust me this is heaven for you, you can find almost every book. And the best thing about this store is they have very nice friendly staff working in who are ready to help you. They even offered me a cup of coffee when they observed that I had spent long time

  • Muhammad Suhaib

Visit only if you've got money to throw away. The books are overpriced and only Karachi's elite, the sort who don't care spending 40 to 50 thousand bucks in one shot on books alone, can go here. That said, the staff is polite, helpful and the place is nice and clean.

  • Maham Ansari

Liberty Books is heaven for book lovers. And this outlet is so well made and contains such a huge plethora of books that it feels welcoming for all. I can spend hours and hours there and still not get tired of it. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait to go back again.

  • Spice & Flames by AAAStories

Best place to buy books. It is really a blessing for book lovers to have liberty books outlet in nearby locations. Cooperative staff and very well organized shelfs with clear and visible displays under categories more visibly mentioned/ tagged

  • Marion Böker

Greatly selected collection in a dedicated bookstore in midst of Karachi, Pakistan. A mire quiet corner. Bookstore with very friendly, knowledgeable salesmanager who recommend books as if they know exactely what your brain aims for. Lovely

  • itssummerhey

One of the biggest liberty books stores in Karachi. Staff is helpful, and a variety of books are available, though they might be expensive. In this branch, there's a basement where books are discounted so worth checking that out.

  • Sara Qureshi

Always a great selection with a very knowledgeable staff. I particularly like to see what their selections and recommendations are. Love this iconic Karachi store and feels nice to actually visit a brick and mortar bookstore!

  • Aisha Mahmood

Probably the only good bookstore in Pakistan; they really do have a great selection. The staff is pretty helpful as well. And I love the free bookmarks. Just wish the books weren't so expenses, otherwise no complaints here!

  • Hafeezullah Ishaq

One of the largest bookstores in Pakistan where a wide variety of books and latest journals are available. Discounts on various cards are given. One can browse the books which are open and not covered in plastic.

  • Abid Hussain

Worst experience. With paid delivery it took them 10 days to deliver a book. They chose the cheapest courier service CallCourier. The book came damaged. Never gonna buy anything from them again

  • Kashif ALI

In Karachi, Liberty Books is the best place to find books of one's choice. I wish they expand their outlets in other cities too. Lahore should have more than 2 outlets. Keep up the good job!!!

  • Ayesha Adamjee

A rare Karachi classic and easily the largest at that. Not at all a bad selection but make sure to grab anything you want immediately because chances are it won't be there at your next visit.
