Realizing the need for a hospital dedicated to the civil service employees of Nepal Government, just like Nepal Army and Nepal Police employees, the government approached the Peoples’ Republic of China with the request to help it build Civil Service Hospital in Nepal. The result of the agreement stands proudly in Minbhawan, Kathmandu as the first Civil Service Hospital of Nepal. An autonomous government institution under the Ministry of General Administration, Civil Service Hospital is operated by a seven-member hospital board. Civil Service Hospital is the first one of its kind with 132 beds and all the facilities needed for providing quality health services to the people. The hospital was handed over to the Nepalese government on November 14, 2008 and it was after five months, on March 29, 2009 that the out-patients services were started in the hospital. The hospital inaugurated on May 30, 2009 embraced additional facilitates such as emergency services, in-patient services and operation services on January 21, 2010. Established with the major aim of providing quality, state of art and affordable healthcare services to all the past and present civil service employees and their immediate family members, the hospital, within the short period of its establishment has gained a very good response from the people. The hospital aims to establish an efficient, transparent and smoothly functioning hospital administration, recruit, train and retain sufficient numbers of dedicated, motivated, knowledgeable and highly skilled specialist doctors, nursing, paramedical and other supportive staffs in all specialties and super specialties of medicine, ensure high turnover of patients in the hospital by opening it to the general public as well, provide specialist doctors and supportive staffs regular opportunities for academic activities like research, continuous medical education and training and establish cooperation with best national and international hospitals and health related institutions arranging exchange of clinical and other experts on a regular basis, develop the hospital into a post graduate training institution, provide adequate financial, job-related and personal incentives to the staffs, maintain the hospital as a non-profit hospital, subsidy charges of hospital service used by civil service employees, utilize extra income generated by providing healthcare services to the general public for subsidizing healthcare service charges, increasing incentives to staffs and establishing a fund for social welfare for financially needy patients and install the best and most advanced medical equipments available to make the medical and surgical services available to the patients at earliest. Responsible for the basic treatment of all civil servants and their dependent family all over the country, the hospital offers certain discounts for services provided to the civil service employees and their immediate family, however, there are certain rules and guidelines to be followed. The hospital have various departments such as department of Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Family Medicine and Emergency, General Surgery, Obs/Gynecology, Orthopedics, Radio diagnosis and Imaging, Pathology, Mental Health, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, ENT, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Hospital Management, Engineering and Maintenance, Biological Department, Hospital Security Unit, Dietary and Canteen Unit, Hospital Store Unit, House-keeping and Laundry Unit, Outpatient and Extended Health Services Unit, Library, Operation Theatre Unit, Emergency Unit, Medical Record Unit, IT and Communication Unit and Social Service Unit.
The Civil Service Hospital in Nepal plays a pivotal role in the country's healthcare system, offering a wide range of medical services to both civil servants and the general public. Established with the aim of providing high-quality healthcare, this hospital has become a cornerstone of medical care in Nepal. One of the most significant aspects of the Civil Service Hospital is its commitment to providing accessible healthcare services. Situated in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, it is easily accessible to a large portion of the population. This accessibility ensures that people from various regions can seek specialized medical care without extensive travel. The hospital boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a team of highly skilled medical professionals. Its staff includes experienced doctors, nurses, and support personnel who are dedicated to delivering top-notch care. The hospital's departments cover a wide spectrum of medical specialties, ranging from cardiology, orthopedics, and neurology to pediatrics, gynecology, and ophthalmology. Moreover, the Civil Service Hospital is well-equipped with advanced medical technology and diagnostic tools, allowing for accurate diagnosis and treatment. This ensures that patients receive the most up-to-date and effective medical care available. In addition to its clinical services, the hospital also places a strong emphasis on medical education and research. It serves as a training ground for medical students and offers various educational programs to healthcare professionals, ensuring the continual development of the medical field in Nepal. The hospital's commitment extends to the community through outreach programs and health camps. It engages in initiatives aimed at promoting health awareness and providing medical services to underserved areas, contributing to the overall well-being of the nation. In conclusion, the Civil Service Hospital in Nepal is a vital institution in the country's healthcare landscape. Its dedication to accessible, high-quality medical care, investment in advanced technology, and commitment to education and community outreach make it an essential healthcare provider in Nepal. It stands as a beacon of healthcare excellence and serves as a model for other healthcare institutions in the country. Best service and cheaper than many government hospitals like patan.
The need for such a hospital arose in view of the fact that Nepal Army and Nepal Police employees had hospitals dedicated to them while civil service employees of Nepal Government had none. Thus, Nepal Government approached the Peoples’ Republic of China (PRC) with the request to help build Civil Service Hospital (CSH). An agreement to this effect was signed between the Government of Nepal and PRC . CSH is located at Minbhawan, Kathmandu. CSH is an autonomous government institution under the Ministry of General Administration (MoGA). A seven-member Hospital Board with full executive powers to run the Hospital was constituted by the MoGA and endorsed by The Council Of Ministers. The Hospital Board sets policies and programs during its regular meeting chaired by the Hospital Board Chairman. The Executive Director (ED) of the Hospital executes and regulates the day to day work of the Hospital. The ED is one of the board members and has a full-time paid job. The foundation stone of CSH was laid by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba .The 132-bedded and fully equipped Hospital was handed over to the Government of Nepal by the PRC on November 14, 2008. Out-patient services were started on March 29, 2009. The Hospital was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on May 30, 2009. In addition to the already existing out-patient services, emergency, in-patient, and operation services were started on January 21, 2010. Civil service hospital is one of the very good hospitals in Nepal. This hospital being centrally located, this maybe the busiest hospital of Nepal. The well managed care and services in the hospital is good enough. Department of the hospital are - Department of Medicine, Internal Medicine Unit, Cardiology Unit, Gastroenterology Unit Neurology Unit, Clinical Haematology Unit Radiation Oncology Unit, Dermatology Unit Psychiatry Unit, Medical Oncology Unit, Department of Anesthesiology Department of Family Medicine & Emergency, Department of Surgery, General Surgery / GI Unit, Urology Unit, Opthalmology Unit, ENT Unit, Department of Obs/Gynecology, Department of Orthopedics, Department of Radio-diagnosis & Imaging, Department of Pathology, Department of Dentistry, Department of Pediatrics, Department of Nursing, OPD, Emergency, OT, CSSD, Medical Ward, Pediatric Ward, Haematology Ward, Gynae and Obs Ward, Surgical Ward, Post OP Ward, ICU, Orthopedic Ward, Oncology Ward, Housekeeping Unit, Pharmacy Unit, Physiotherapy Unit
This hospital provides emergency ,OPD, and in-patient services. it has many departments :medicine, hematology, pulmonology, gynecology &obstetric, gi surgery, uro surgery, rheumatology , cardiology, dermatology, dentistry,GP,etc. It has well equipped laboratory, blood bank, CT scan, MRI, x-ray, Ultrasound ,ECG. ECHO and many other basic services at relatively cheaper price. It has both general and pay clinics where you can choose the doctor of your preference for consultation. OPD ticket cost Rs 100 for general category. OPD appointments can be booked using "civil service hospital " application. The hospital provides service to the general public as well as govt officials. The civil servant , their family and retired government service official recive 50% discount on most of the test and services. The new block is very clean . The hospital provides services at relatively low cost. Still the hospital needs to improve on cleaning and appropriate human resource allocation on respective departmental and units.
My experience at the Night Shift Emergency Section of Civil Service Hospital was extremely disappointing. The staff seemed overwhelmed and disengaged, leading to long wait times and a lack of proper communication. The overall level of care and professionalism was subpar, leaving much to be desired. I would not recommend relying on their services during the night shift. Communication was one of the most glaring issues during my time at the hospital. The staff failed to provide clear updates on wait times or the status of patients, leaving us in the dark about what to expect next. Inquiries about the treatment process were met with vague responses, leading to heightened anxiety and frustration. The night shift staff's attitude was far from professional or compassionate. I observed instances of rudeness and impatience towards patients seeking medical attention. Instead of offering reassurance and support, some staff members displayed a dismissive demeanor that only added to the distress of patients
OPD are overcrowded. Some of the nurses are overly rude sometimes and very unprofessional. literally they do not have any idea of what they are doing. Doctors are good but sometimes it feels they are just here to make a resume for their own private clinic or something. Emergency services are not up to standards at all. New ICU are probably the only thing that makes this hospital somewhat standard. In a city like this where people are overcrowded, hustling to find good hospitals and although somewhat being located in about 20 ropanis of land this hospital's structure UTTERLY disappoints. A tall 7 to 8 storeyed building should have been much better option FOR BETTER SERVICES AND EXPANSION. In my opinion private hospitals culture have destroyed the concept of affordable healthcare.Only hope are the government hospitals. Bir hospital model should be followed and somewhat effort must be made for this to make it as practical as possible. Feels like you are going to the museum or something.

I have here many times . People can get healthy food in cheapest price from other hotel inside the civil hospital canteen . This hospital is mainly for the treatment of civil officer that works in government job of Nepal . However it gives treatment to others too . Huge area with garden and parking area and emergency services . This hospital gives discount on the purchase of medicine prescriped by the doctor of civil hospital . It has separate treatment for fever who are from Kathmandu . It had wlink wifi tower so people who have wlink wifi connection on there mobile they can use the WiFi for 90 minutes also . The person who has come with patient can have some fun time by using WiFi and even by watching TV . To get fast service of treatment please go to emergency ward rather than OPD

The general OPD line in the morning starts at 6:00 Am and takes nearly 2-3 hours standing in line for OPD. You will get OPD receipt at around 8:00 or 8:30 AM. After that, the hassle is alot more for meeting doctors because of more number of OPD patients. I personally felt, doctors doesn't give much time listening to the patients during the consultation because there are many other patients in line. Also, the report receiving department are really careless. Only one good thing is that, it's cheap and everyone can afford a treatment here. Though, this hospital is fine if you are willing to spend less money and get a treatment. But to be honest, they lack professionalism alot.
Very good public hospital, but pretty much crowded all the time. Ticketing for public service employee and dependants start from 7:00 AM morning each day. People start queuing for it from 5:30 AM. Ticketing for general public starts from 9:00 AM. People start queuing for it from 6:00 AM. Dr. Sushil Poudel, Dermatologist is highly recommended here. Laboratory and diagnosis services are also very good. General medicines and Orthopedic services are also very good here. Emergency services are NOT very responsive. They mostly try to avoid patients and attempt to refer to other private hospitals even before implying immediate emergency cares.
The hospital facility is one of the best service available. But the process of consulting doctors is too lengthy. It literally tooks more than 4 to 5 hours to meet doctor due to queue system and the flocks of people. The priority is always given to governmental department officer and to civil servant. The cost is effective not too cheap not to high . It took 100 rupee to visit the doctor . The doctors are good . The instrument for medical uses is sufficient and all kind of test facility is available. Most of all it is located in the heart of kathmandu, thats near baneshwor area which is quite familiar area for people of kathmandu
The Hospital is responsible for all kinds of basic treatment of all civil servants and their dependent family besides general public all over the country. But above mentioned civil servant’s maximum six family members (Parents, Spouses and 2 children under 21 yrs) have been provided discount (Gazetted 40% Nongazetted and Retired 50%) facility. The discount card is available here for them at the cost of Rs 10/card, one who wants to utilize discount facility, then he must submit the card along with photos attested by the head of the office. The details of Personnel code (Shanket) no. must be recorded in Nijamati Kitabkhana.
The facilities and infrastructure are amazing. But the doctors and nurses (especially in the emergency ward) should be ashamed of themselves for the pathetic service they give to the patients. They have zero sympathy towards the people coming for emergency treatment. They are non-attentive and ill-behaved. They have no sense of service which is the basic requirement of their occupation. I wonder what the management and operations department looks after in this hospital. OPD is quite good and prices are comparatively on the lower side. But I would never recommend this place for emergency services.
One of the well managed hospital in Nepal, has a wide open space with couple of buildings in the most busiest place of Nepal. The hospital is generally for civil servants, they get subsidised service charges while normal citizen are charged regular fees. Its a full fledge hospital almost all services are available. Once can see numbers of people standing in lines even at 5 O’Clock early in the morning, with it one can imagine how popular and busy us the hospital. Regarding emergency service, one may not get specialist service in the night or early morning, however, specialist visits at day time.
Service and facilities are good...but some nurses and hospital staffs are very rude, having bad manner, impolite, disgusted and show very poor behavior towards patients... They should buy 5 rupees manners and eat . A part from some manners less staffs and nurses, hospital is well clean and nice....Best part of Civil hospital is 'canteen' they provide cheapest and quality food and others snacks. Staying 15 days in Civil Hospital, I really enjoy foods from canteen. Momo, rice set, samosa chat and many more.
Hospitals in Nepal never have proper management. This particular one is at a different level. Though the outer look of the hospital looks decent, the interior building is not convenient for the first visitors. I couldn't find the elevator and had to climb stairs. The waiting area is fully packed and the ticket counter is unimaginable. The management must make proper hygiene on everything and most importantly the restroom There are no signs and mapping system to allocate the area.
Its service is good •Online ticketing: We can have tickets without being in a for hours. Prabhu PAY has made it so easy. It’s revolutionary and hopes this type of facility will be soon available in every hospital •low crowded: It’s too frustrating when you go to a hospital and see many messes going which brought you a feeling of never visiting the hospital again. It's also a few cons but service is good as compared to hospitals out there in the city.
A nice government hospital located centrally at Kathmandu. Located at Minbhawan, near to New Baneshwar, this hospital is dedicated for the treatment of current and retired civil servants and their family. They get special discounts. They make treatments for general public as well. Unlike other many government hospitals, this is relatively neat and clean. Enough space for parking and simple gardens and modern buildings, this is certainly a good hospital.
The hospital located at Baneshwor in front of BICC Hall, Kathmandu, Nepal is an autonomous government institution with 132 beds and aid from the Chinese government. The hospital is mainly dedicated to civil servants who receive 40-50% discounts. However, the service is available to all with cheaper prices compared to other hospitals. The hospital provides quality service, and the food from the canteen is also nice with affordable prices.
This 132 bedded hospital was established in 2008 AD. It is an autonomous government institution under the Ministry of General Administration (MoGA). It was constructed and gifted to Nepal by the PRC (Chinese government). Hospital provides treatment for all civil servants and their dependent families all over the country. Its services are affordable but people have to wait a long time for such facilities.
Quite a large Space and a peaceful environment, I saw all good but here is the pharmacy but not have all the medicine in the case of an emergency we have to go to another hospital or outside the pharmacy, if you open an emergency ward 24 hours please open all necessary things like pharmacy put all medicine which used in any types of emergency, catering, I didn't see any hot cold drinking water machine.
Worst hospital ever. doctors are busy on meeting and patients keep on waiting them. Nurses as well as gaurd don't have the manner. They are so rude to the people who visit hospital . hospital building seems to be good but the doctors and nurses don't value the time of other people. It is government hospital and it is for county citizen but still people are facing lots of problemwhich is not good.
I went to do blood check and Endoscopy on 18th of August. I found staff were not friendly, not clear information to direct fron one to another department. Lab staffs are very much messed up, i been waiting from 8:30 till 9:20 and still my blood reports are not ready. I gave blood one day before n still not ready. Its too hot no fan or Ac. No lift too. Toilet smells too from 1 km.
Hospital specially introduced for civil servants and general public. in the centre of town with broad area and infrastructure, it also uses some advanved tech too. the medical staffs and skilled here. the area in it clean even the hospital is in side of the main road. the access point . the parking area here is very big but i guess it needs some maintanence. for good treatment..
Lame management. They just don't distinguish more needy patients or patients who are having difficult time to relocate from ward to ward. Doctors were weird as hell when I went there. Don't they know how to treat patients( i mean emotionally)? Such a pity place to be in. I will not recommend this place if you have some "not so deadly" accidents/problems with you.
The autonomous government institution with 132 beds and a aid from the Chinese government. This hospital is mainly dedicated to civil servants who also have the privilege of 40-50% discounts. The service is available to all with cheaper prices compared to other hospitals. It has quality service and food from the canteen is also nice with affordable prices.
The attitude and behavior of some oldies nurse or let’s grandma needs to treat well. Because they even don’t know how to treat with patient and with the newer customer. I recommend 00000000000000000000000000000! The word’NURSE’ is not for those who don’t treat the patients with well. One of the worst experienced ❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌
Civil hospital is located on Minbhawan, new baneswor ktm. It is for civil servant but it also provide service to the general public. For general public, there is limited quota. Patient should go to hospital for token which we should have to go at 7 am. We should know doctor is available or not on that particular day.
This Civil Hospital is very worst. Doctors, Nurses, counters and service for management are also very rude. specially the room num 204 Doctor Diwas and nurse are very rudeness. I never go again there to check up and i recommend to all not to go there. I have bad experiences also my other Family members and friends.
The centrally located Civil Service Hospital has been providing service to many people (civil servent) I wonder that many patient visit hospital often in duration of times. May be for the follow up procedures. Minbhawan has proved as a central arena for human basic health. Congratulations to government of nepal.

Civil services hospital is located at Minbhawan, kathmandu. Clean environment, quality health care services, affordable cost and dedicated staffs have created a warm environment in the hospital. The pharmacy also provides medicine with 10.00% discount to civil service servants and general public.
This a very good government hospital in Nepal. Government of China has been helped to built it. Enecially this hospital provides its services only for civil servants and their family members. Later they allow other public also. It's service is very good as compare to other government hospital.
staffs are not that much good. poor management system. i paid twice for everything like medicne.xray bill. and also the emergency doctor made a mistake twice. he gave me the wrong patient code plus he asked me to buy medicine again where i already gave them as per their list …
One of the best hospital in Kathmandu valley. It has very good service and well maintained equipments. The qualified doctor's and nurses provide excellent service. It has it's own pharmacy and laboratory.Sanitation is also good and surrounding environment and gardens are well maintained.
Cheaper compared to most other hospitals. Used to be a lot cleaner but must be due to huge no. of people visiting each day cannot say the same. Has most of the testing and diagnosis equipments needed in-house. Ample space around for some fresh air. Mostly crowded in the OPD sections.
One of the nicely managed government hospitals of Nepal. Offers Good health facility at an affordable cost for the general public. Sanctions available for civil service staff. One shortcoming is limited number of beds. Should consider expansion of beds and services as well.
One of the most unsuitable hospital you'll ever find in the world Staffs are not just friendly, they won't treat you well after the check up And the most distinguishting part of this hospital is that the doctor act way too smart rather than doing their job …
Aja Rati 12 baje kam garne sister yeti attitude ko omg
Providing good health services in Baneshwor area, few doctors of this hospital are famous in city. If you want to meet Dr. Bishesh Poudel, Dr.Niranjan Acharya, Dr. Kapilmani ..... you can visit this hospital, You can also get paid services in evening time too...
Good service in affordable price. Discount for civil servants. Two shifts to to ticket counter; morning and day shift. 1:00-2:00 pm lunchtime for doctors. Not good inquiry section: not polite. Enough parking space available. Insufficient pharmacy inside.
Despite Being government hospital, it is very clean, relatively less expensive with wide spacious hospital. Regular maintenance works is going work for betterment of the hospital. This hospital is build from the support of the Chinese government.
Hospital is good. The costs are cheap comparing to other hospitals. For eg. They charged Nrs 15000 for an operation and At norvic hospital they were charging more than 1 lakh for the same operation. And you can get about 40 to 50% off if … थप
This is the only place where I trust government services. The place is clean . Quite professional people including nurses , Doctors ,lab technicians . In the heart of baneshwor so people visiting it for the first time wont wander around .
its been 12 yeas since my last visit. the hospital was silent, less patient (countable in fingers), but now its much crowded, probably because of the same quality service that i received 12 years back. Keep the same work CIVIL Hospital
Why like this for good behavior we have to pay money or what.why you open this hospital ..you taking money for everything not Free at all.learn some good manners.due to you people.out side of country people also taking negative now
Civil hospital is a public hospital where people are givrn services at a very low rate. It is one of the equipped hospitals here in Nepal. If the free line is very long than you may go and treat yourself staying the paid line.
Hospital is good. All services are fine except the some of the staffs. They are extremely rude and disrespectful. If possible replace the receptionist with some other better staffs who can handle customer better
OPD is much crowded and unmanaged. Numbers of people suffer because of lack of information about their respective doctors and wards. Inward patients service is better in comparison to other government hospitals.
It is big, has all the facilities, is clean and is cheap as well. The services are great. It has got all the modern equipments and devices. I highly recommend this hospital for treatment.
Horrible service. I tried to call numerous times ( 20) to find out some info, but no one bothered to pick up the phone. How could this hospital provide descent health care for citizens.
I really dont like is the staff behaviour of the hospital, specially video x-ray reception section, staff are too rude.they even can't answer the simple question about the time table...
Counter lady is very rood she doesn't know how to talk with customer very discusting talked with her. Hospital management need to train them for customer relationship management .
Literally have to wait 3 hours just for registration and when the doctor comes he only checks 20 30 people a day in each department.. i had to waste 3 days just to see the doctor.
This hospital provides one of the best services at reasonable price. The cafeteria is better than many restaurants you've been to. Overall the hospital is legit …
Best hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. Senior and friendly doctors, well facilitated. Even though long queue and crowd is always seen, price is really reasonable and affordable.
Worst Hospital receptiontists ever. They are the most rude and ignorant people I have ever met my entire life. If they dont like their jobs they shouldn't be working there.
Mri machine and so many equipment are dysfunctioning because no manpower . Very rude and careless behaviour of all lower level staff. Patient are hadled very offensively.
Civil Service Hospital is located at Minbhawan, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, It is an autonomous government institution under the Ministry of General Administration (MoGA).
Affordable fees with prompt results on medical test and they also did my X-Ray report re-generate when my previous report was damaged due to some object on my pocket.
Here some doctors and nurse doesnot behve well with pateint . Worst treatment for pateint and the hospital should be closed due to its in human nature to the patient.
OPD is not at all systematic. I had to wait for 2 hrs just to get the ticket. Then the queue for the doctor. Cost wise, its not at all expensive, but poor management.
Worse! They dont pick calls i have called so many times but it only rings but they are so irresponsible with the booking and dates very careless staffs and hospital
Well managed but under construction and you can go and have medical checkup and get vaccinated over there. And many more facilities related to health services.
EMERGENCY SERVICE IS TOO POOR AND STAFF IS NOT PRESENT IN FARMACY I GOT MEDICINE FROM OUT SIDE TIME IS AROUND 6:50 AM MORNING ALS DOCTOR ARE N'T CARE PATIENT.
This hospital is very bad ,very careless and poor service provided I just hate because I called more than 100 times But didn't received my call …
This type of hospital who has no respect to patient . This hospital is the most unbheaved hospital in nepal guyz dont go to this careless hospital …
Experienced Doctors, comparatively cheap fee. However, poor management systems let you down. I just simply say, "it's a good hospital with bad management."
Nurses are just incompetent in this hospital. they do not even understand the doctors prescription. such a shame of power and corruption in this country
One of the hospital with great facilities in Nepal. Run by the government for the civil servants and their families. Therefore the name Civil hospitals.
This hospital cures many diseases in low cost. It is even cheap for the nepal government employees. It is one of the best hospital in kathmandu vally.
Some what I got little bit bad experience But the doctors are polite and made patients feel easy during sharing their problems. Also they treat well.
Civil Service hospital is good hospital located at Baneshwor. The hospital is affordable and provides good service. Downside: lower bed capacity.
generally opd ticket counter closes between 12 - 1 pm and resumes after 1 pm. while in opd break time is between 1-2 pm. so better to go early.

The Doctor was rude and inattentive. Dr Damoder Sharma is not fit to be a docter. He doesn't respect his patients and is rude to them.
This hospital is center of Kathmandu. This hospital is open for 24 hour a day. Well managed hospital. There is a lot of facilities.
So much rude staffs. Why work there if they don't like their works. Don't they know the word call respect while talking with others
It's better to remove your telephone line, rather than misguiding people by transferring to the operator service. Improve yourself!
One of the worst hospital I have ever been. No parking at all. Guards are rude and ill mannered. Will never visit again!
Affordable and qualitative medical services. Generally family members of civil servants get more affordable services.

Hospital for all; centrally located, modest price and satisfactory treatment; having parking spaces also.
The doctors and staffs priority is money more than service. The service is poor and also they are rude.
Hospital is good with good environment and good doctors but we need to stay in qué early in the morning
