On 11th April 2012, the activities of Vatara Thana started as the 44th Thana of Dhaka. Vatara Thana has been created by dividing Badda Thana. The police station is under the Gulshan division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. In other words, the supervising officers of this police station are DC Gulshan zone and AC Gulshan zone. Vatara Police Station is situated  in Notun Bazar, close to Embassy of United States Of America.

It's a one of the Police Station in Bangladesh. It is situated between Notun Bazar Bus Stop and DESCO and opposite of Fire Service And civil Defence Station, Baridhara. Also, it is very near to Embassy of the United States of America and Royal Thai Embassy. You can visit this Police Station very easily using the Google map service. Vatara Police Station is under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. This Thana near by the progoti soroni road. It's opposite side American embassy just over the foot over bridge. Vatara thana have more space inside like huge parking place. Have any problem in this area please go to the thana and complain.They are too much helpful and responsible. Hope you live better life!

আগে এটি বাড্ডা থানা ছিল । এখানে অনেকবার আসা যাওয়া করা হয়েছে । দোতালায় এসিসট্যান্ট কমিশনার, গুলশান জোনের অফিসে কাজে গিয়েছিলাম । কম্পাউন্ড খুব পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন নয় । ছোট একটি থানা । সার্ভিস বাংলাদেশের পুলিশের এভারেজ সার্ভিসের মতই । নির্ভর করবে আপনার লেভেল কেমন সেটার উপর ।

Wanted to file a complaint. Duty Officer suggested a better way than I thought. No bribe, no harassment, no unnecessary time killing. Good experience in filing. Though three days have passed, no action has still been noticed.

খুবই পরিচ্ছন্ন আশে পাশের এরিয়াগুলো। ভাটারা থানার ডানপাশে রয়েছে ফুটওভারব্রিজ।ওভার ব্রীজ থেকে নেমেই থানার প্রবেশ পথ।ওপারে আমেরিকান এম্বেসি।
