Beware of security at entrance of Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. A lady from security took my lighter. She put it in her pocket and promised to return it to me. When I left (20 minutes later or so) I asked for my lighter back at the checkpoint. The lady pointed towards a pile of lighters on the scanner and told me to pick one. I said mine was not there. She insisted I take one. I demanded mine. Little later I was surrounded by 4 people. They were nice and friendly and tried to help. I assume building security or police - two were plain clothed. In any case - I explained that it was a lighter my friend had gifted me. I explained that security put it in her pocket. She denied that she kept it. The people told me to take any lighter. I said that the next guy will look for his if I take one. Besides - its unhygienic and its not the one my friend hat gifted me. It was a storm lighter. Not too special or valuable but a gift. How can you enter Oriental Pearl Tower and end up losing your property kept by security check point? The people then tried to blame it on me. They said I should have asked for safe keeping as written on a sign. I once again pointed out that I asked for security to return it - she put it in her pocket and promised to return it. How is it not asking for safe keeping? They again talked to the security guard but she denied she put it in her pocket. I pointed at the cameras to emphasize they I spoke the truth. The now three people apologized to me so I left without filing a report but this is not OK. This in my eyes is theft. Why else would she lie about having put it in her pocket? Not a good look Oriental Pearl Tower. If one can lie about a lighter then one can lie about anything. This took place on 27th of August 2023. I entered the checkpoint at around 20:00 pm - plus or minus.

The pinnacle has been the milestone and symbol of Shanghai since its finishing in 1994. The following are a few realities about this pinnacle. 1. Oriental Pearl Radio and television Pinnacle remains at 468 meters (1,535 ft), it's the third tallest design in Shanghai starting around 2023, and before 2008 it had been holding the title of the tallest construction in Shanghai for a considerable length of time. Late years it actually draws in additional travelers than other 3 tall designs close to it even 2 of them have outperformed it in level. The pinnacle is delegated a 5A beautiful region by the Public The travel industry Organization of China while other 3 tall designs are named 4A. 2. Oriental Pearl Radio and television Pinnacle is to a great extent contained circle structures, the tops of two biggest circles are separately at the levels of 300 meters and 120 meters, the upper circle is 45 meters in breadth and the lower one is somewhat bigger at 50 meters in width. What's more, there's a lot more modest circle which is known as space case at 350m, it's just 14m in breadth. There are likewise 5 little circles between the two huge circles and encompassed by 3 enormous segments that interface the two circles.

he best way to see the magnificent Shanghai City is from above 1,536 feet or 468 meters, is from Oriental Pearl Tower. The design of this building is unique and outstanding, making it looks very attractive from anywhere. It was the tallest building in China, take over by Shanghai World Financial center in 2007. Located in Pudong New Area by the side of Huangpu River, it is the perfect location to view Shangai city from all different angles and perspectives. Oriental Pearl Tower has more than ten observatory levels; the highest one is at 351 meters; there is a revolving restaurant occupying at 267 meters. Other facilities and attractions are Museum, shops, a hotel, and futuristic of science attraction. Don't forget to test your bravery level by standing on the glass floor at observatory platform.

The Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Lujiazui should be the landmark of the new era of Shanghai in modern times. It is also the commercial and financial center of Shanghai. Since the reform and opening up, the high-rise buildings of Lujiazui have sprung up and have won many firsts. The builders, and the pride of the Shanghainese, also belong to the glory of the entire Chinese nation. Close to the riverside of Lujiazui, it is the best location for taking the Bund. If you are a tourist, don't miss this place. Let you have a little regret!

Fun location seriously crazy views. If you love heights this place is for you. You can see all of the Shanghai city scape from the top. The glass floor level is pretty awesome too. It can be a little jarring at first if you aren't into heights. I would get the 190 Yuan ticket. The top level is not really worth going to IMHO. It mainly details some space exploration and the windows out are small and curved. The restaurant is pretty awesome with great views and the food is buffet style - they had a Hungarian chef there also doing some ethnic dishes. Overall the food was good... For 200 ¥ it is pretty decent Overall I really enjoyed the experience.

We went on a weekday and there isn't a large crowd. The entrance to the tower is quite expensive as it didn't cover all the interesting levels. On the way down, they didn't allow us to take the ride all the way to the ground floor. We had to stop 3 times and were directed to take the stairs to the next elevator. This is to ensure guests pass through the game and souvenir areas. Taking the stairs down isn't suitable for seniors. Expect noisier crowd when compared to Taipei 101 and Yokohama Tower as the crowd there were not as rowdy. Walking on the glass panel is a must.

The Oriental Pearl Tower is the most famous attraction and the signature landmark of shanghai. It is located within the Pudong new area by the side of Huangpu River. The tower was launched in 1994 to be the highest tower in the city at the height of approx 470 m. The tower is considered as one of the most important observatory deck where you can have a bird eye view of shanghai. The tower consists of 6 main parts including the Space Capsule floor, the Restaurants Floor, The Main Observation Deck Floor, The Glass Floor, indoor Arcade Gaming Floor and Multimedia Show floor

The Shanghai TV Tower, known for its iconic design, offers a revolving restaurant with panoramic views. Visitors often enjoy the 360-degree rotation, providing a unique dining experience. While queues may be present during peak hours, the captivating cityscape of Shanghai, especially during sunset or nighttime, makes the wait worthwhile. The observation deck also offers stunning vistas, allowing visitors to appreciate the city's skyline. To fully savor the experience, it's advisable to check for potential wait times and plan accordingly, especially during popular hours.

located at Shanghai Tan, long to visit ever since a little young boy. Finally able to visit at last! Very crowded at night, cold breeze, lovely couples, family with kids. Many boats crusing along the Huangpu river. The night view was the best seems compare to day time, due to many night lightings on the buildings. we went to it throught wai tan, via walking shopping street. It is beatiful, similar to all other countries towers, which always a local trade mark must visit. Not sure can go up the tower as it was too rush for us.

  • Jason L

The Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Shanghai offers breathtaking views, but my visit during the weekend was less than ideal. The crowd was overwhelming, and I endured a nearly 3-hour wait in the queue. Once I finally reached the observatory, my mood was dampened, and I only spent a quick 15 minutes taking in the view before heading down. I strongly recommend planning your visit during off-peak hours to fully enjoy this iconic attraction without the frustration of overcrowding.

It is one of the most iconic sites of Shanghai and so easily recognizable as one of the staples of China, I went in the summer and the view was amazing, nothing like anything you’ve ever seen. The chance to go on one of these skyscrapers and see the view of one of the most industrialized cites in the world from above is an unmissable experience. There was also a temporary exhibition of fish was an unexpected favorite part of trip which was a very moving metaphor for genetic modification and human influence on nature.

One of the symbol of Shanghai, China I even brought a souvenir that looks like this unique tower, when I first saw this tower my can get may eyes on it, this is an icon, this is incredible!! It is photogenic in every angle. I can’t count how many times i take a picture with it lol it’s just amazing to see it pin person rather than in picture or video. Trust me it’s far better to see it personally 1 million percent!!! Its even more beautiful at night when the light show started…

One of the magnificent landmark of the populated city in China, the must visit city in China, you will be amazed with the tallest and ancient building plus the most beautiful scenery. Most places are crowded with people's head. This is what a big city look like.... It's really amazing and beautiful, I am lost of words. In short you need to need to be there to see it for yourself to feel the atmosphere. You will never regret and forgot what you have seen. So wait for you in Shanghai, see you there, OK?

Adults 199rmb. Kids 1.2 to 1.4m half price. Kids below 1.2 free admission. Space capsule need to purchase separate tickets. Adults 100 rmb, kids 1.2 to 1.4m half price. Kids below 1.2 free admission. Personally feel the space capsule is not worth the money, there’s nothing much to be seen up there. The museum below was an eye opener showing Shanghai history in the early 1900s. Overall quite satisfied with the place but the tickets were quite pricey.

This is once in a lifetime experience. Everyone who is visiting the city shall take some time off and visit this place for sure. The 70USD ticket fee seems too high but once reach the transparent deck it is worth it. The glass deck is the main attraction here and other than that the views from the upper deck are mesmerizing. There are few souvenir shops also available to make your trip more memorable. Also within the tour you can visit a couple of museums below.

Best to buy tickets beforehand as well. If you buy tickets on the spot, you will have to wait for approximately 2 hours (unless low season of course). Also, I couldn't pay with my visa credit card, don't know if this happens for everyone, but take some cash with just in case. It is worth the wait though, on the 3 floors you also have a few expositions which were very interesting. The view is magnificent of course, espacially when the sky starts getting darker!

Is a must see while in Shanghai as long as you have a CLEAR DAY. Good view of the city (feels like the John Hancock building in Chicago) DO NOT PAY for the 351 meter view (top one) it’s worthless you get the same at 261 meters and pay less and you do a shorter cue. It took me over an hour and a half to go up and when I got there the windows were DIRTY. On the 261 meters takes about 30 minutes to go up and you get spotless windows. Still the view was worth it.

  • Danielo D2

This place needs no introduction, iconic, majestic, the must see and most famous piece of Shanghai skyline. It's Sci-Fi, it's timeless, it's just unique in it's own merit. I visited during the day, didn't take anything from the experience, specially for the glass floor, which is 360° and you can see the surroundings from a very, very tall perspective. If you have only one day in the city, just come here. Crowded, whatever, it's crowded regardless.

  • Matthew

Had an absolutely amazing time here, if you find yourself in Shanghai you must visit the TV tower and the surrounding area. The views are magical and the moment you see the skyline it'll feel like it's a greenscreen, it looks so crazy in real life that the photos do not do it justice. The costs to go in are reasonable, if you're unsure I would strongly push you to spending some money to go up the tower and spending time looking around!

  • Ah WanG

A iconic shanghai landmark A great place to go up to have a look of shanghai city view at the observation glass deck I paid for the RMB 200 package to go up till 2nd observation deck U can pay for another time to go to the highest deck Recommended to stay from 4 to 6 pm to enjoy both day and evening view of shanghai city The queue is long, i queue for 45 mins on a weekday on winter I heard the queue can reach 3 to 4 hours on peak

  • A P Y

You can’t not go to Shanghai and miss this iconic tower. This is like the Eiffel Tower of Asia. Definitely a must see. We were not able to get the chance to visit the revolving restaurant on the top of the tower because we ran out of time. We initially planned to go to Jin Mao tower so we could see the orient pearl from the Jin Mao Tower view. We ran out of time, so maybe on our next visit.

Be prepared to spend at least 2-3hr to queue for the lift up. Depending on the days as had gone with family on Sunday and also school holidays period but I do heard avg waiting hour is 2hr, queue spot is at level 2. So before going there, it's best to have some food first. There's also shopping and resting spot in b2. It's really great view from top and and glass corridor and cool spots for photos.

Very beautiful to see Shanghai at night time! Though very crowded it was a good experience. We had a buffet here and it was ok. I think it was the worst meal I have had in Shanghai so far. Rather that have hundreds of choices that are not that great it would be better to have fewer choices of higher quality, apart from that it was a great evening! A must visit for anyone coming to Shanghai!

  • A V (globetrotter)

Of the 3 well known modern business towers of Shanghai, i.e. Jin Mao, Oriental Pearl and Shanghai, the Oriental Pearl is the most noticeable from the mega-city’s skyline on the other side of the Huangpu River from the Bund. It is certainly the prettiest architecturally . It’s mainly a TV and communication tower in the heart of modern Shanghai.

Outstanding place. Good for family. Amazing view of Shanghai City, the Bund area and Pudong. Taking the entrance ticket in advance from online sources is a logical option to avoid long ques at the entrance. Plan atleast for half a day beginning in the late afternoon and till the evening to enjoy the view from day till night time of the city. Must visit is the transparent observatory deck.

  • Justin Thurman

Probably the most beautiful and iconic tv tower in the world. The line is a long wait and a little expensive to buy a ticket, but it is so worth it. The view from the different levels gives the best sight of the city. And when the tower is lit up at night it is magical. The 2nd viewing level has a glass bottom walkway that is very fun to walk on and see the ground below you.

  • sridhar

It is one among famous tourist spot in shanghai This is TV tower by the side of Huangpu river. Top floor is 1148 ft and it is world's sixth tallest Tv and Radio Tower in the world. It is a distinct landmark in shanghai. Also they constructed glass bottomed sky walk where you can see total view of Shanghai city skyline from the various viewing decks. Total floor count 114.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower is a famous place and is always visited by tourists, both local and foreign. It wouldn't be complete if you went to Shanghai and didn't visit this Tower. This place is unique, even though it is still busy on weekdays.

Great tourist attraction in Shanghai, view from the top of the tower on glass floor, from the bund and river cruise in the night is awesome. The museum in the tower depicting the history and culture is fantastic. The colorful lights during the river cruise in the night is memorable. The tower stands tall and a landmark to be seen from anywhere in Shanghai.

The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is located in Pudong Park in Lujiazui, a 10-minute drive from the center of Shanghai. The Lujiazui stop is only a few steps away. To avoid long queues, schedule your visit during the week, in the early hours of the morning. Entrance to the museum and to various attractions and facilities requires the payment of a ticket.

  • Ady Putra

There are a lot of point of interest, great place to take pictures at and enjoy your afternoon to evening transition. Almost everything is clean and tidy but still you could see people smoking while walking by or even spitting on the sidewalk. Other than that, a nice place to listen to music and watching the scenery of buildings surrounding you.

  • Radim Horak

Iconic Shanghai landmark that everyone should pay visit to. I was there uncountable times and always finding a new views either from outside to the tower or from the tower vice versa... I recommended going there earlier in the morning than in the evening; due to the crowds... but in the evening is city simply incredible (when all lights are on).

  • Amit Choudhari

This is a pretty cool attraction. It lights up at night and it's pretty cool. I went at dusk so I was able to get a good daytime view followed by a night time view as well. I was too scared to go on the transparency deck with the glass. Hahaha! Definitely recommend going in for an hour or so!

Great place to be in the evening, right after sunset. The elevated walkway around downtown area is the best place to view the tower. This is highlight of downtown Shanghai with lots of shopping and dining options and metro nearby. Carry a jacket in winter months. Western dining options a few blocks away. Check out the photos

The Pearl Tower is one of the most distinctive of the super buildings near the waterfront. We thought it was just a TV tower and we came too late to go inside, but up close the structure is much larger than it appears from across the river. We learned that inside there is a restaurant, a little museum, and view platforms.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower is one of the must visit tourist places in Shanghai City. This tower is visible from distance from The Bund. But however visiting TV Tower gives a different experience all together. The tower changes its appearance by changing its colors at night which really mesmerize visitors.

It used to be the pride of Shanghai but now you can look down at it from higher buildings. It is an attestment to the speed at which Shanghai and its city landscape are changing, and is reflective of Shanghai's status as the economic center of China.

I'm in love with this TV tower. From either side of the river, I was mesmerized by the amazing night lighting that shines on this unique architecture. Even though I didn't go up the tower, it was still beautiful just observing from outside. I went multiple times to the Bund to see the night view here.

Had an excellent time. Went on Monday, and hardly had to wait. The Observation Deck had great views, and the glass-floored deck is an experience! The museum about Shanghai in the base of the tower is surprisingly excellent - great experience of the various eras of the city through alleys and streets.

I just saw the kaleidoscopic tower in the distance, because i didn't have time to get the top of it. It appeared incredibly with different sets of light. If you go around the tower area, you will definitely see lots of people taking photos. Tourists can get here by subway easily. Enjoy your time!

  • ngoc minh

The view is absolutely stunning as the last floor spinning around slowly when ur having meal and the service is incredible. The food is merely diverse, i would say it’s not that delicious or anything special for me to memorise. It’s apparently just a nice experience, and it’s not worth to return.

One of the best places to visit in Shanghai, and from the top you will get a spectacular view of Shanghai either day or night. Will take atleast 2-3 hours to have complete experience at the top of the tower. The glass floor all around provides a superb experience. Have a look of these photos..

  • Rokas Marcinkevičius

The tower is huge and the view is definitely worth the wait (we had to wait for about an hour in a queue), only downside would be that getting out of the tower takes over an hour too yet as the tower is filled with awesome Shanghai art installations it does not feel like much.

  • Mandla

Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Shanghai even for just a day. Scenic views of the the cityscape. An excellent place to take pictures and get a sense of the city. Get there before 23:00: The lights of Pearl Tower go off then. It will be crowded, get ready for that.

The trademark building of Shanghai that deserves the recognition it gets. Despite not being the tallest building anymore, the view from the observatory is definitely still stunning! Do purchase the pricey ticket to significantly reduce waiting time especially on weekends! :D

At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it was the tallest structure in China from 1994–2007, when it was surpassed by theShanghai World Financial Center. ... On 7 July 2007, Oriental Pearl Tower was host to the Chinese Live Earth concert. The tower features 11 spheres, big andsmall.

Great view of Shanghai, place to visit if your are in the city, nice entertainment at level 2, and interesting museum (little bit too long and can be boring at the end) on the ground floor.

Brah it is sketchy af out on that glass ledge. But it’s really cool to be up there and see the view. Definitely worth it if you’re in Shanghai.

Just take a photo as a tourist… and just walking turn around that area and just seeing this Oriental Pearl Tower… we go there on December 2018…

  • Hai Nguyen

A stunning nighttime sight. You should take a river cruise at least once to see the beautiful tower at night. Definitely worth a shot …...

We had such a beautiful view, especially at night and also enjoyed the walk around on the glass floor. Definitely a highlight in Shanghai!

Have a night walk ... after 10pm, the street and the park beside the river are so quiet.

I visited the aquarium and it was a really good experience. There were various species of fish and other marine animals.

Nice to look from the outside. No point to go inside. There are plenty of other good viewpoints and restaurants nearby.

Amazing lightshow at 19:00 when the light goes on. In weekend very busy near the bund and tower. Enjoy the view.

  • Bear And Wolf

Beutiful place, very unique, all lit up at night! Very busy when we were there. Plan ahead if you want to enter

  • Mohamed Makroumi 马克

One of the most places in Shanghai that’s you have to visit it. It’s better to visit it during day not at night

  • Hope Ang

Beautiful from the outside but perhaps dated for views of shanghai. We went to the Shanghai Tower instead.

  • Nakarin Kamkheaw

It was more impressive to see in person than in movies for some reason.
