I don't say this lightly... Sam's bar is my favorite bar in the world! I love going to bars to socialize, and Sam's bar is perfect for that. The owner, Sam, takes time to be a great host and helps take the awkwardness from breaking the ice and socializing with fellow patrons. I got more or less stuck in Fukuoka during the pandemic, and if it wasn't for Sam's bar I definitely would've left the city and probably country much sooner than I did. It doesn't look like much from the outside, and I honestly almost walked by the first time I saw the sign on the ground floor (I had to look up what Eigo was!). But, upon learning Eigo=English, and knowing English-speaking friendly places are often hard to come by in Japan, I made the chance decision to go up the elevator. The first time visiting Sam's, he welcomed me in, asked my name, and we started talking. It turns out we're actually from the same state back in the US. As more patrons came in, he seemed to know everyone by name and introduced me to them, and really set us up for easy conversation. Most of the patrons are there to meet people and practice English, so it's a great place to be social and make friends. I was in Fukuoka almost 3 months and probably spent about 2/3 of those nights at Sam's bar. It was absolutely an amazing time! It really was the perfect bar experience. Sadly, I had to keep moving on my travels, but Sam's bar will always have a special place in my heart. I wholeheartedly recommend going there and checking it out! Also, the highballs are cheap and the food is delicious!

Went to Sam's super chill bar for the first time a few days ago (had heard great stuff about it from a friend about it from a friend and was intrigued to give it a try). I went all-alone and didn't know anyone when I first entered, but by the time I left I had already met some cool cool people. exchanged Instagram, had great conversations and drank some really good Chai tea (they even served a biscuit with it, just like it is served back home!). The owner, Sam and his staff of Saki san and Uchi are all really welcoming and friendly (all of them speak great English and Japanese too). Normally international bars here do not have a great mix of foreigners and Japanese, but this one actually had a lot of Japanese folks eager to converse in English, as well as foreigners down to hone their Japanese skills. Of course, you can also enjoy lots of wonderful smells coming from the bar kitchen, I will definitely visit again and try the curries, drink more of Sam's oishii Chai tea and definitely meet more dope people there!

We flew in from Seoul for business. One of the venues were connecting with in Seoul is in the same building as Sam's Bar. We did not notice Sam's until after leaving the studio across the street. The happy people coming off the elevator gave it away, we missed something. I'm glad we checked it out. The drinks! The Portions! Inexpensive! Impressive atmosphere, lets you pocket the cash and drink like a pro. I talked to some people who frequent Sam's Bar, very intelligent, english speaking, global citizens. The owner is one of the coolest humans I've met. This guy is living his best life and you will be too after you leave here. (Cheers to Sam and our new friends in Japan!)

It is one of the most coziest & relaxed style bar. There’s always the friendliest group of people. There’s an excellent selection of beers from all over the world (25+ Varieties). Prices are the lowest w/ all night daily drink specials. Everything on the menu is excellent, especially the curry and the pizzas. You would be missing out on an accident spot in Fukuoka if you don’t pay a visit here. The busiest days are Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturday’s and the best time to go is after 7:30 PM. The best part that it’s a non-smoking facility and they have clean & separate restrooms for men and women and located kn the 3rd floor in a brand new building with elevators.

By simply visiting there twice during my 3 nights stay, I've got this much 1.Great host who is willing to help you out in any regard (Sam) 2.Meeting amazing people who seemingly regular there (Both Japanese and expat) 3.Good drinks and Sam's delicious food 4.Warm and kind atmosphere all around in the place I will go back there and so will you if you ever have been there once!

Sam's Bar is a perfect place to be! I went there alone during my trip in Fukuoka. Even when you are alone Sam helps you to be integrated really fast. It's a nice place to get in contact with new people (locals as well as tourists) and to exchange languages and experiences. Thanks to Sam's recommendation I found my new favorite cocktail. The drinks are around 500 yen which is reasonable. I had a nice time at Sam's Bar while playing Jenga, meeting and talking with new people and enjoying drinks. I definitely recommend this place!

I stopped by here during my visit to Fukuoka. I had the most amazing time and made many new friends. There are only a few places on earth, where you will be that welcomed like here. Sam has been a great host, from the moment I came in. To me, as someone who is travelling a lot alone, this is worth gold. He introduced meto others, took my music wishes into account, and is always down for chatting about beer, while serving you great imports. Strong recommend.
