85 C Bakery Cafe hands down might be the best bakery in the city of Houston. I know.. bold statement.. hear me out. The long lines, the busy foot traffic speaks for itself. You could spend a whole day here choosing the perfect combination of cakes & pastries. My recommendation is 1 sweet, and 1 savory dish to satisfy your food palate. Of note this is a BEAUTIFUL cafe, this is their 1000th location, you can feel just how much effort they put into the cafe!! Ambiance: 10/10 Modern/sleek design, GREAT music (Jazz, Lofi, K-pop, K-rnb) Cuisine: 12/10 Every cake & pastry is made with tender love and care!! Price Range: Cakes, Pastries, Drinks are affordable, every item ranges from $3-$6 Parking: 10/10 during daytime, haven't experienced evening/night time parking. Cleanliness: 10/10 clean tables and bathrooms.
I'm a loyal customer of 85 Cafe, no matter in Taiwan or USA. I will say don't miss red bean bread and aussie meat pie bread, their red bean bread is totally different than any other asian bakery, they make an authentic japanese style red bean bread, that means you can eat the red bean but not mash red bean inside. Talking about their tart, the egg tart is an authentic taiwanese style egg tart, the portion of yolk, sugar and milk is under " golden ratio of taiwanese egg tart ". Besides, the berry tart is worth to try too. Furthermore, I come here to buy milk tea twice a week. For me, drinking their milk tea in the morning has already become my routine. If you ask me is there anything to complain about 85, I will say american 85 doesn't sell napoleon cake but Taiwan does.
I wish we have 85C Bakery Cafe in San Antonio. The place is trendy, bright and welcoming. As soon as you walk in this place, your appetite will be stimulated by the warm aroma of mixed of cream, cheese, eggs and butter! I came in after lunch, but I still bought a shopping tray of dessert and bread. And ate half of them before I left. All their items are about a half as sweet as regular bakery’s, all are fluffy and airy. I can’t describe the satisfaction when I ate the egg tart and babo drink. Oh, they will ask you how much of sweetness do you want in your drink. Those are great options for consumers who are watching out their sugar intake.
So I’ve been here twice and loved it so far! I’ve been fortunate to come early enough to beat the crowds... apparently it gets pretty busy towards 4 ish/rush hour times/weekends/and holidays like spring break. Plenty to choose from and fresh baked! Loved everything so far (except the pork bun...it’s a sort of dried pork dust coating on bread). You don’t have to be bashful about buying a lot because everyone else is doing it! They also sell cakes and coffees/teas as well. Well worth a visit but come by early and maybe during the week. I went on Tuesday around 1-2 and it wasn’t too busy.
Quick low down: Great bakery with a ton of delish options. Cakes are as beautiful as the are tasty. Complete review: The bakery offer a large selection of buns, breads, and sweets. Their dining area is currently closed so it is carryout only right now. The cakes here are amazing and gorgeous. They match the pictures on their website as well. The taste is exquisite. The building is well marked and the bakery is clean with a friendly staff. It has a constant stream of customers as well c9nfirming it's quality. I enjoy the cakes the most but their buns are incredible too.
I had ordered 2 slices of red velvet cake. They didn’t come in my order at all. I had ordered 2 mochi filled tarts and I got 2 EGG tarts! Then to top it off the 2 mousse chocolate cups looked disgusting the mousse wasn’t soft and fluffy it was hard and dark. It was 75 percent Oreo Dust and me and my family memeber ended up choking on the 85 sign that was burried all the way down in the mousse. I believe it was old cups they had from days ago. Whoever did the cups needs to get fired. Chinatown 85c service has way better service than Blalocks. That’s a given.
Excellent place to find and satisfy your bakery cravings. As we came into the store they're were re-stocking some of the more popular items too! This place is practicing social distancing as well. Employees were very nice and helpful. The items we got were great. The drinks are sweet and tasty as well. Parking is easy when it isn't busy. The location around this place is quite busy. But other than that, it's an amazing place to grab your favorite sweets and bakery. I would definitely recommend this place!
It looks great… and if that’s all you’re looking for, it would be perfect. Unfortunately the taste and customer service don’t live up to the looks. The cake I had a very generic texture and taste. Reminded me of what a blueberry Hostess HoHo might taste like. For some reason it took them 15 minutes to get my slice of cake out of the case while I was standing at the counter waiting. No utensils were in evidence, no sweeteners or anything else. In the end the looks we’re not much of a consolation.
Love this bakery my go to choices are the ham and cheese bread Mike pudding bun and the cheese and hotdog bread these are just my favorite, but there many more yummy choices to choose from. I recommend going early in the day if you want the best chance to get all of your favorites. If you go past 5-6pm your risking them not having anymore of what you love. But if you want any of their drinks any time is fine. They will still have options, but I make sure to go earlier. Great service too!!
This place is one of my staple food spots because it's so good. I usually come here to stock up on stuff now for breakfast/snacks. All of the pastries are affordable and pair well together. I recommend trying the milk pudding, bacon, and hawaiian chicken pastries (those are my favorite). But everything there is great too. If you like pudding, i suggest trying the pudding milk tea and going for a medium because it's the perfect size. The taro latte drink is really creamy and delicious too!
I’ve been to many of these in California, so I was happy to see one here. For the most part, it did not disappoint. I had several breads and pastries and a boba milk tea. The bakery products were good and they even had one I hadn’t had before, which was tasty. The boba was a bit too sweet for me. They do adjust it and you can ask for it to be less sweet, which is what I’ll do next time. Bellaire as a whole is of course very crowded, so I’m hoping one of these open closer to home for me.
I'd give more stars if I could. The bakery is always fresh. Prices are always reasonable. The taste is amazing. The atmosphere is friendly. The staff is excellent and crazy diverse and work in excellence. By far my favorite bakery in Houston. The only thing I would change is maybe adding a little music in the bakery for atmosphere. My wife and I frequently come by here when we are able to and I recommend it. If you have time stop by the Bellaire shop, it is their flagship location.
Absolutely love this bakery that we stopped by twice during our Houston visit. They had unique bread that we do not have on the east coast. The milk bread was our favorite as it had a light custard inside. We loved how most times weren't overly sweet and were so fresh. Be prepared to wait in line though as this bakery gets really busy and quite crowded. They also have a variety of teas available and some seating on the side.
There is a very large selection of pastries, and it's cool that they also serve boba and other drinks here. That being said, this place did not live up to the hype. The few pastries I tried were decent, but nothing to write home about. This is the first bakery in Houston like this, but there are many other smaller bakeries that are just as good.
Excellent baked goods both sweet and savory. Delicious teas and coffees as well. I have tried a lot of the items and have never been disappointed. The Vietnamese coffee is super strong and delicious. Add coffee jelly for an extra treat. This place is terrible for my diet but excellent for my taste buds!
Go early for the best selection. My favorite is milk tea bun and milk bun. Coffee is pretty good too! I had sea salt latte since they had it as a free reward on the app, it was good! Definitely download the app to get points for rewards. They do frequent free promotion al rewards like coffee or tea.
I love 85 degrees - thier breads are soft and always fresh. I have to stop myself from picking up each and everyone! Their cakes are also wonderful, and so are their drinks. Their tapioca is amongst the best I've ever had with the right amount of body, chewiness, and sweetness.
Got through the line very quickly. Staff were friendly and the seating area was clean (they had staff cleaning the seats and tables when I was there). The pastries were all packaged neatly and without grease. The pastries are always amazing and not too expensive!
We bought milk buns every single week and each time we normally get about 18 of those plus other items as well, we had asked to divided them into 2 boxes, which is 9 in each box because we don’t want them to get smushed, most of the times
Love their pastries, and the boba milk tea is good too. They have a rewards app where you earn points on every purchase and can redeem for a free pastry, drink, or topping. They sometimes also have B1G1 offers. Wish I had a store near me.
Don't let the lines bother you (there's literally been a line every day since their grand opening); it'll move fairly fast. Plenty of oh-so-yummy goodies there (premium milk buns, Portuguese eggtarts, milk pudding buns, salted caramel
i love their pastries, especially the vanilla chiffon cake and milk buns! i wouldn’t recommend getting their smoothies though, it separates after sitting out! also you must go early bc most of their baked goods will sell out by 7/8 pm
This a great Asian bakery! Something that makes it special is that it is truly an Asian concept. All over China these bakeries are something similar to our Starbucks in the frequency they are found. This is a casual place, great for
Love this cute bakery. My favorite is the cinnamon twist. Goes great with coffee in the morning. Fast and efficient self serve for the pastries and order at the front for drinks.

Tried Boroh Danish, Milk pudding, marble taro and garlic cheese. Their bread are sweet. They taste good and have good price. I personally liked the milk pudding and the marble taro. Interesting texture-pillow soft / chewy too
Service is good. They have an offering of pastries and bread, we had the coffee. The coffee is fantastic, they seal the lids and give you a pointed straw which is handy. Pro tip... shake it up before you stab a hole in it!
Upside..This location has a great selection of baked goods! everything is fresh and delicious! Down side they only had 1 person on register during a busy lunch hour. It was a long wait to check out. ☹️
If you love variety, this is the bakery to go to in the area. There is a huge variety of baked goods, coffees, and bubble teas here. This place is BUSY, so fresh baked goods are constantly coming out.
A superb bakery that offers sweet and savoury items and wonderful coffee drinks. We love the espresso bun, coconut twist, mango custard bun taro swirl. Their sea salt series is excellent.
Amazing ambiance and environment. Beautiful and such a wide selection of affordable drinks and baked goods. I had the taro latte (amazing) and the chocolate hazelnut muffin (PERFECTION).
One of the best bakeries in the area, possibly the entire city. The selection is astounding. Pictures do not do justice...you can spend a day trying to decide what you want to eat next.
Brightly lit and aesthetically pleasing. Self-serve Asian style pastries. Delicious treats and good coffee. Busy, but not crowded space. Plenty of seating. Diverse crowd. Open late.
As always delicious Best bakery in town You might think it is a bit pricey but the quality is worth it I have to drive 45-50 min but I tell you it is so worth it …
Limited tables and chairs. Taste breads and pastries. Busy every Sunday. Need to improve their service.

Fresh delicious pastries. Cakes, muffins, sweet rolls, pastries. I think I gained about 5 lbs just by looking at all of the deliciousness in this place.
I came here about 6 times already, and every time there's always a line out the door. I drove past here a few times but saw the line so I left.
See attached pictures has a variety of things following me on trip advisor under AUSAGUY007 for food recommended
Got birthday cake for my daughter, with the same price you will get a bigger cake compared to Tour les jour
