I had a terrible experience with this firm earlier in 2016. I needed my 2015 taxes done, so I contacted them for assistance and at the end, it ended in a very sour meeting and my taxes were done incorrectly. They offered no real guidelines regarding papers that should be included- not even a basic Document Checklist (which, by the way H & R Block does for free!), so I gave them what I thought was best. Turns out that after I realized that their numbers were incorrect because I spoke directly with the CRA, he told me that it was "my fault" for not giving him everything required, that I should have been more thorough, that his other clients don't usually give him everything he needs so he assumed that certain docs didn't apply to my case even though I was a brand new client. The icing on the cake was when he said that instead of sending my husband, I should have come myself and dealt with him. (I was working 2 jobs while pregant and my husband was off work at the time, so it wasn't possible for me to take time off work). He didn't even apologize for his mistake nor be sympathetic regarding my situation. I was very disappointed and I'd rather pay another firm to do it or learn to do it myself and save myself the headache.

I have been engaging this firm since 2011 for professional services regarding tax or other corporate matters. I have referred several of my friends to them for corporate setups and tax issues, all are satisfied clients. One of the best thing about them is planning, the way my family’s initial return was setup and done we are worry free. I am quoting an actual a comment I received from one of the government agencies “you are lucky that your tax accountant set this up for you, majority of them never look into this and the client ends up with filling lots of forms and face tough scrutiny”. My primary dealings are with Hassan Rasul who is a fine, patient, thorough and a very knowledgeable gentleman. On some occasions had a chance to consult Ayoub Alam, I find him a very competent professional, together they make a good team.

This was my first-time visiting this office, and on a recommendation I visited A&R LLP this year for my tax return preparation. It was a seamless process - I dropped off my package to the receptionist, who greeted me warmly. Within a few days Hassan called to schedule an appt for me to come in and review my completed form. He was extremely professional, detailed, accurate, courteous, and timely in his follow-ups. I recommended him to my father, mother, brother, sister, and their significant others - who all visited his office in April as well after me.
