My experience has been very positive! I got a recommendation for them by a colleague. From the first communication by phone to the office visit, the staff were helpful and friendly. At the office, the various people I met, like Kathy , Karessa, and Dr. Lafferty was very informative, friendly, and helped make the whole x-ray and cleaning experience a pleasant one. In the new patient forms, I added a note that I get anxious and have trouble with choking while lying down, so to please "vacuum" my mouth often, and they were very diligent in keeping my mouth free from any choking hazards. They actually listened and tailored their procedures for what I needed to feel comfortable! I appreciate them very much for that. Update: Today, I had my first procedure: tooth extraction. This has been the most wonderful experience in the dentist chair I have experienced. From the very getgo, the staff were welcoming and very helpful to allay any fears I had. Caressa, the assistant, helped me to breathe evenly and deeply, and Dr. Lafferty was very gentle and thorough. I didn't even feel the pinch to the needle when he administered the novacaine! First time ever for me not to feel the insertion of that needle! During the whole process, both Dr. Lafferty and Karessa made sure I was feeling comfortable and communicated with me often. I really appreciate this dynamo team!

After having a previously terribly experience with another dentist (sorry I hate name dropping), my friend recommended ABQ Gentle Dentistry and to say it was like night and day is and understatement!! Everyone was absolutely amazing and so friendly. The previous dentist told me my gums were all 6-7s and that I had periodontal disease that only some lazer treatment would fix that of course wouldn’t be covered by insurance. I knew in my gut and just by looking at my teeth that couldn’t be correct, so getting a second opinion from Gentle Dentistry was a must. And won’t you know it, I have one cavity, my gums are all 2-4s. No periodontal disease. They also had a portion on their new patient form where they ask if you have some anxiety around the dentist, I was able to explain my experience before I even came in, and they were so nice and understanding about it. Nate did a fantastic job with the exam and cleaning and he was great to talk with, Caressa was so nice and took me to do the big X-ray, and Harley at the front desk was also awesome! And of course Dr. Lafferty was fantastic! He answered all my questions without making me feel silly, and effectively explained what’s going on with my teeth, and that I certainly do not have periodontal disease. Very happy to have found a dentist i can stick with, and I highly recommend ABQ Gentle Dentistry!

Gentle Dentistry is phenomenal! I used to dread going to the dentist, I was anxious before each appointment and wondered do I really need to do this? I found Gentle Dentistry right here on Google and from the first visit my fears and anxiety are gone. The staff is wonderful. They are concerned with providing comfortable and complete dental care. They are patient and take the time to explain procedures completely and answer all your questions. My regular hygienist is Kathy and she is amazing and takes such care. Dr. Lafferty is top notch and so concerned with providing the right care for the patient. You are priority for from the moment you make an appointment through your routine cleanings and procedures. If you're terrified of the dentist, like I was, please give Gentle Dentistry a call to experience a different level of dental care.

I had dental pain during the long weekend and had to enjoy a soup-diet because I didn’t want to aggravate my tooth further. I was seen the next business day. When I walked in, they welcomed me like I was related. I was assessed by dental technician, Carissa (?sic) who was incredibly cheerful, friendly, and just a lot of sunshine for an early morning work day. Dr. Lafferty who is nothing short of amazing, took care of the problem, and had a treatment plan if I should experience this situation in the future. They have really cool state of the art dental gadgets that really help to relieve any discomfort or anxiety that a patient may have. I wish I would’ve known about them sooner. However, I’m a devoted patient and will recommend anyone and everyone to their office.

I had a broken front tooth. Terrible shape. ABQ Gentile dentistry put a crown on without using any novocaine!!! It was that gentle. I had not been to the dentist in 30 plus years, I don’t recommend doing that, but I had a super bad past experience so I lumped all dentist in the bad dentist column!! Not any more! What a difference a good gentile dentist makes!!! I even scheduled a cleaning and another filling or two!!! I appreciate the entire staff. Great job in making me feel comfortable. And thanks to Harley for reminding me about my phone charger I left behind. The entire staff went the extra mile for me. Please, don’t neglect your teeth like I did because you fear the dentist as I did!! You won’t be sorry with ABQ Gentle Dentistry.

My mother had a severe toothache issue and I called ABQ Gentle Dentistry on her behalf. And even though our emergency should not have been their crisis also, the staff over the phone asked me to hold on. They fit my mom in that afternoon. ABQ Gentle Dentistry went above and beyond again, from staff covering the phones to everyone including Dr. Lafferty when my mom and I were there. Dr. Lafferty and his team are a great group! I have been to ABQ Gentle Dentistry for about 3 years now and I won’t go anywhere else. Everyone is pleasant and eager to assist. I started going here in 2015 when Dr. Bleak was in charge. The practice came highly recommended and I've had dentists I didn't like in the past. Since then Dr. Lafferty has taken over and has continued the model of gentle dentistry from Dr. Bleak. Both him and the hygienist Kathy are responsive to you, are knowledgeable, and are friendly and approachable. They have since hired new hygienists and they have been good as well. I've recommended this office to others and have heard nothing but positive reviews from them as well.
