I stopped here briefly to use the free wifi to make an important call. This library advertises that it is a "safe place", meaning you can come here and escape the general persecution you receive if you get caught wearing a back pack and walking to your destination. At least until a Phoenix city security officer named Corbin (not certain of the spelling) came outside to show a landscaper (I'm assuming) or some other type of worker who would need to know where a water source was for early the next morning. He unlocked the hose bib with his key and told the employee in the brightly colored shirt that unfortunately he can't leave the hose bib unlocked because (gesturing towards me) these knuckleheads would abuse it. I quickly pointed out that was a violation of my civil rights, Corbin asked how so, I informed him that was discrimination based on my appearance wearing a backpack, he denied what I saw with my own eyes, said that everything was on camera, then told me that it was my word against his, which I took as more demeaning rhetoric from a person posing as my advocate. We need to have our rights restored. I am not currently homeless but was for several months after losing my job, as a sole provider in my house hold I had no safety net. I was not a criminal. I made a mistake and lost my job. Thanks Phoenix, for treating your community with such hostility for not having all of the advantages as the most elite of your members. Very classy.

the security guard kicked me off my computer beacuse im 18 when the sign on the teen area says 12-17 but the computer physically says 12-18. I wasnt bothering anybody its literally just a computer in the teen area then he starts asking to see my ID or my library card so he can check my age. 1st of all i was the only person in that area on the computer 2nd IM 18 and thats what the computer says and 3rd i will NEVER show ID to anybody thats not an armed police officer. pipe down buddy its just the library i think he only did it because i was black bc like i said ive been on the computer from 11am (the time they opened) until 2:40 (time i got kicked off). i wasnt bothering anybody like i said and why does being 1 year older really matter smh. the sign said 1 thing and the computer says another yall need to work on y'all nonverbal skills smh

Acacia Library is an extremely pleasant place to find a book, relax in imagination, use a computer, browse for CDs and DVDs, permanently checkout vegetable and herb seeds, attend seminars, get help with resumes and job search, learn about community activities, and browse used books donated by Friends of the Library. The librarians always make me feel welcome, and they know how to assist my every need in the library. The security guard is a nice addition to help keep the library quiet and the patrons safe. Thank you to the Phoenix Library system for your professional support in providing the public with a sense of community in a world that sometimes can stifle happiness. The library is full of joyful opportunities. Keep up the good works!

My family and I went in today and we got to sign up for the Summer Reading Program (there is now also a reading program for adults and you can get some cool prizes). We were helped by one of the librarians and the Security Guard. We were given all kinds of goodies and the staff was so kind! Libraries can be such an underrated resource. Thank you for being such a light in the Sunnyslope community!

Great local branch of the Phoenix Library. Staff are friendly helpful and professional. They are kid friendly, in addition to reading and stories they have fun printed worksheets and crafts you can take home! Lots of parking, they are busy just most folks have short visits. They do have comfortable spots to sit and read.

Definitely the noisiest library in the city. Children run around screaming. Homeless bums sit around sleeping and having conversations like it's a coffee shop. Security seems to pay more attention to what is happening outside than inside the library. Get it together Acacia..it's a LIBRARY!

I am trying to get Temporary custody of my granddaughter and i needed to print out some court papers. It cost $7.30 at this library. I asked if they could print this out for me as a courtesy and they said no. This was the only time i needed any assistance and they was not willing to help.

Great Library for Early readers. My 3 year old nephew loved the interactive areas and computer readers for kids, as well as the kids dress up outfits and toys. They also have job placement assistance in their conference room on select days and free meals for kids in the summer.

The staff here are all so very kind and helpful. And I love the books near the door that are for sale - I can usually find three or five really good finds, and am happy to pay the small price for these treasures. This library is one of my favorite places in Phoenix. :-)
