This store is right next to my house and I won’t ever go in again, “Ace is he place with the helpful hardware folks” not true here, I was working on Super Bowl Sunday due to being so busy, ace was OPEN till 5pm, I arrived at 4:30pm and was immediately helped in a manner as if I was being rushed out the stored, the young man at the register didn’t say one word to me as he scanned my items, didn’t ask for my rewards card, didn’t ask if I wanted a bag so my 20 items. The next morning I walked in and the employee “Jim” and older gentleman he saw me and didn’t say a word and proceeded to kinda walk away and hide. I then had to track him down which was odd for this store, I asked for cone filters; he showed me cheese cloth and I told him I was looking for the cone filters, He gave me some sort of I know everything attitude, so I asked if he talked to everyone in that manner or if it was just me, then the tone changed as if he didn’t know what I was talking about. I talked to a manager a young lady, she didn’t seem to care. If your looking to browse I don’t recommend shopping here, you will be asked if you need help by every employee by the time you leave. Not necessarily a bad thing but can become extremely annoying, they should communicate with each other so I don’t have to tell 10 people that I don’t need help and that I’m just looking. I’m in his store 3-4 times a week and every experience is the same so after the Super Bowl I decided to write a review because of the rude employees and the uncomfortable manner they give when shopping. They just need to communicate and say hey I talked to this guy he has what he needs he’s just looking now instead of constantly being hounded and rushed out the store. I’m constantly leaving with items I forgot because I can’t focus. They need help in upper management and they need help with the older gentlemen with how they speak to the younger generation and drop the I know it all attitude. I shop at the foothills location and in all honesty will say the two stores handle customers completely differently if your in ahwatukee just go to foothills ace.

Came in about 20 minutes before closing time. I was running because of moving out of a Gilbert condo to an Ahwatukee house, and I needed spackle and a key made for the maid service clean out, and I needed them fast and I needed them that night. I interacted with at least 4 people who were staff - 1 directed me to where the keys were made, 1 made my key, 1 took my money and the 4th one directed us all out the door. Not overly friendly. In fact somewhat brusque and/or distracted. The first took me to the key place and just left me. I stood there for several minutes wondering what to do -- should i go back and ask her who worked there? There was a gentleman stacking things behind the area who ignored me and finally I asked him if there was anyone working the key area. He said he could make my key for me, so he did, then I went and paid. It then finally about 5 minute til close and the staff who directed me and another lady were giving everyone unfriendly looks and reminding us all to leave. I would've been able to leave faster if y'all had given me customer service when I walked in. They were all trying to get out of there and seemed like they didn't want to help me. It was a bad first impression in a new neighborhood... they might be good most days but it didn't make me want to come back -- it made me want to go to Lowe's or Home Depot even though I'm a local hardware store fan usually....

Ordered a shell for a fob key. Jane told me it had come in and come anytime between 10 and 5. Arrived at 11. Jake said he was finishing up with a customer and he would "hop" on my key shortly. An hour later Jake was still outside with the other customer's key. I asked the 2 other employees behind the key counter if they could help me. They were both like deers in the headlights. They said only Jake knows how to program the fob. I said there is no programming. I only need the shell of the fob and the key cut. They both shrugged. Asked for the manager. She was rude from the get go. Said l should have made an appointment and Jake will be at least another hour. I told her l did not need to program the fob. It went completely over her head. She insisted on an appointment although it was never mentioned during any previous communication. She expected me to know about Ace Hardware policies on key making. Told the rude manager that l am not in the key business, she is. I was amazed that such an incompetent person was in charge. Asked for my deposit back. Avoid this establishment at all costs. Customer service is a foreign concept at this Ace franchise.

I've previously had very good customer service experiences at this location, but things must have changed. I called to get help on an outdoor paint for stucco and order a gallon and the paint department was uneducated and less than helpful. I asked if I could order the paint over the phone and pick it up. The person I spoke to mocked me and then said he'd never heard of such an option and I'd have to talk to the manager. Apparently the manager didn't want to talk to a customer because then the same person came back on and said the only way that was possible was online. Then I asked about the different exterior paint options and he was lost. Multiple times during this conversation, the paint dept tried to get off the phone and practically hung up. The only reason I picked this location was for the customer service. I'll be going since you can find poor customer service anywhere.

Always went to Ace for our house screens, we rescreened every window in our house and they did a great job, well worth the cost. Went back earlier this year to get a custom screen redone. Gave them the dimensions and even the old screen as it was in bad shape. Well we got it back, but it was completely wrong in size and dimensions. Wayne told me he could do it to the dimensions originally requested but had to charge me 50% of the cost to redo it again. I told him we would not pay for their mistake and he replied it wasn't his mistake but rather mine for giving bad info on size. I told him he had the old screen to go by and he said they tossed it. So for all the hundreds of dollars spend on screens they lost a customer for 70 bucks and called me a liar blaming me for their fault. Sorry Ace, you have people that don't back their work.

I love Ace, always the place to go when you need small hard to find hardware pieces. Usually the helpful friendly staff will guide you to the correct aisle to find exactly what you need. Unfortunately the staff here is hit or miss, some very helpful and pleasant to be around, while others seem to be inconvenienced by your presence. Careful on the hardware aisle, some of the employees take meticulously matching up screws for critical components as stealing only to be proved wrong. Prices are higher than big box stores, but usually the service makes it worth the while, just depends on how the employees are feeling that day. Also the store has moved from the NW corner to the SE, it's not permanently closed.

Ace IS the place with the helpful hardware man!! (It was a man so it is accurate. And flows better!) I went in looking to fix a problem and Jimmy was my guy!! He helped me find not only what I thought would work, but he came up with an "out of the box" solution that nailed it!!!! It worked PERFECTLY!! Way better solution than the original, and much less work for me!! Thanks Jimmy and thanks Wayne who talked to me on the phone earlier!! Also, the cashier was sweet and nice and just put the cherry on the cake, so to speak.

Bill asked if I needed assistance, right when I entered Ace. I have zero issue paying extra compared to Lowes and home Depot. The service here is superior and beyond. Saves time, which in turn saves money. He also told me about the $5 at the register I was going to save because of my $25 and over purchase for the promotion they have. They have so much more than just quality service, ACE Hardware has always been the one stop shop for all of my home improvement needs and projects. Come by and see for yourself.

Alot more than to be expected from the outside, but inside the store has a good Even Flow.throughout the packed walls to the back of the store. I was lost and quickly regained my where abouts from a friendly staff member. Many varieties from LED flashlight, to electrical outlets, to an array of name brand paints to make any room an easy change. Tape for drywall, mud, and even trim for the finishing touches on your weekend remodeling campaign. Fast at the register to get you on your way!! FIND IT AND GO!!

Had a leaky anti-siphon shut off valve. Asked Art what I needed and he got me to the right product. Told me what I needed to do. Got home, did what he told me, and the leak was fixed! Last year I needed a screen repaired. The time frame they told me was two weeks. Said I wasn't sure that would work as we were leaving in two weeks. Took a look at the screen and said to give him 10 minutes. Done. Really appreciated the service. Ace people are knowledgeable and willing to help. Worth the price!

It's the place where you can always find screws, nuts, bolts or other random fasteners for any project. UPDATE: I needed a faucet supply line adapter 9/16-24 UNEF male to 1/2-Inch NPT male, not available at any DIY Box Store. Bill at Ahwatukee Ace not only helped me look through all of the adapters, but suggested 2 plumbing supply companies that may carry the super specific part. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable, I will revisit Ace anytime I need help.

Attempting to find lightbulbs for a new lighting fixture, there was a person high on meth walking strait towards me while a customer service person was looking up stock. The owner asked that person to leave and apologized. They had the bulbs but their computer system was not working. I could have ordered the part on Amazon for two dollar less per bulb and not had to deal with people at all, but it’s good to support neighbors.

Excellent customer service. Prices are a little higher then home Depot and Lowe's but you most certainly can get in and out quickly. One thing I have noticed is they usually have a lot of stuff that you just simply can't find at the big box stores. It's always a bushing or a spacer or a special screw with a unique head on it that they always have. basically, if Ace hardware doesn't have it good luck finding it.

  • Hailey Voorhees (Shedim)

The staff in there and everyone was incredible. The problem is they have multiple lights out that are flashing and this is a problem for people like me that are photosensitive, and also for people that could possibly be epileptic. Corporate needs to put a rush on changing out those lights for these poor employees as well because even people that aren't photosensitive or epileptic it could still affect them.

Best customer service experience I've had in a long time. Jake in the key department worked some magic on a car key for me. He could have easily said it wasn't possible and sent me on my way, but instead went above and beyond and managed to fix my key. This Ace Hardware has earned my business, I will continue to go to this location for all of my home projects etc. Thank you Jake!

  • Michael Williams

I went in to return an item and Jim (who I think is the owner) was rude to me about it, making accusations about my intent and speaking to me disrespectfully. Ultimately he did give me a refund, but in a highly unprofessional manner. If he did not want to give me a refund, he could have just said so instead of doing it begrudgingly and treating me poorly.

This is one of the largest Ace Hardware's I've been visited. When you like going to the hardware store and finding that little piece that no one has, this is the place. They have a much larger selection of options. However, employees are not knowledgeable about parts or tools. That is the first time I experienced anything like that at an Ace.

  • Igor Badger 2.0

This one of the Best Ace Hardware Stores in the Valley. Rylan and Bob went above and beyond to help me on multiple occassions. From matching paint colors to suggestions on how to fix a ceiling fan. Knowledgeable, professional and always willing to help. ACE stores independently owned and operated and this one is doing it right! Thank you.

  • Sharon Rodriguez

The guy that did our keys was very caring and kind. It wasn't the person fault that the keys didn't turn out the first time the machine was bad but we are very satisfied that they were able to make us some . Thank you ace hardware store you guys are great. Everyone that works there was friendly and kind. God bless! …

  • Daniel Zamora

This location along with the foothills location are A+.. always friendly and willing to find a way to help you. Went in for a key and walked out spending $50 on items I didn't really need just because I felt the service was good. I firmly believe in taking care of those who take care of you. Please thank your Ace team for me!

  • Garrett Gilbertson

I go in all the time for pretty much every little project I work on. The difference in going here vs a Home Depot or Lowes is astronomical. Great team of employees that are always there to help and help figure out what is needed. I really appreciate having this hardware store and its team of employees in the community!

  • Greg Valdez

This is my neighborhood Ace and usually I just buy small things there but today I bought a new propane grill. Big purchase that was a very positive experience. Not like the big stores. The person who helped me went out of his way and even helped load it into my truck. Shop Ace and you won't be disappointed.

  • javier borboa

Customer service was horrible. Dakota seemed like it was a daunting task to return an item that was not used in my project. His attitude was a little to much for me. And should learn what respect is. I would love to keep shopping at my nieborhood Ace but now will drive down the road to Lowe's or Home Depot

  • Tasi Leae

Great experience at ACE today! Upon walking in the store, I was asked 4 times if I needed assistance. The employees there literally STOPPED what they were doing to help me! Thanks for a wonderful experience and I look forward to my return!

I purchased a lawn mower from Ace Hardware on Warner/48th St PHX. I went to return the item 21 days after my initial purchase. The mower was cheap & I didn't expect much other than to cut my grass & suck the debris up once cut as a mower

  • Auriya Mofrad

Love going to this Ace! Right when you walk in, you are greeted and asked, "Can I help you find anything! It has the hometown hardware store look and feel. Home Depot and Lowes can't compare to this type of customer service. Thanks Ace!

Always great. Helpful, attentive, and well stocked. Some really smart and helpful staff have helped me solve problems. Only negative is the amount of security locks that you have to ask for help to get stuff.

  • David DePrator

Well staffed. Knowledgeable. Very courteous and eager to help. Had at least 4 staff offer to help me as I walked through the store. Favorable return policy. Melanie was very cordial and helpful at checkout.
