I had to come to this launderette as the one I usually go to in South Croydon had no hot water for hot or warm washes. the Wow Launderettes are chains. So the 2 Launderettes alternate between workers. There is one lady that usually works at the Croydon laundrette that have I been avoiding for MONTHS. I would only come in on days she was not having a shift at South Croydon because she is so unpleasant and rude. Unfortunately, today I was met with the one thing I was dreading. The very rude, white haired lady doing her shift at a laundrette I never go to. I had no problems with the machines or timings as I am used to that particular lady being very rude about what time you put your clothes in to wash. Unfortunately she was snapping at me at every little thing. She also ignores you when you are standing right in front of her. SHE will decide when she wants to acknowledge you, and it's only when you decide to walk away that she wants to start shouting "how can I help you?" I wanted change and I was scoulded at. The machine door wouldn't close and I was chastised for that too. As I said before, the machines are all fine and they do the job. definitely much more expensive than other places. So I would say avoid this place if you want to save money and you don't want to be around a unpleasant worker who seems to hate her job/hates people in general. The atmosphere is very unpleasant when she is around. so maybe try to go in when somebody else is doing their shift

The closing time is a mystery for this place even though it is advertised to be 9pm. Last week an attendant let me dry my clothes even though it was after 8pm and I pleaded I would be done in 20 mins, and got my clothes dried before she locked up at 8:30-happy customer! Today though, another attendant, the oldest one with white hair who I always see being rude to everyone, had locked up already and wouldn't let me in at 7:39pm. I only wanted to dry my clothes which wouldn't have taken more than 20 minutes. She kept pointing towards the last wash time note posted outside, while standing inside, which is irrelevant as I wanted to dry my clothes and would have been done by 8pm. I understand it's a long shift working from 7:30am but locking a launderette by 7-7:30pm, when people returning from 9-5jobs need to use the launderette during that time(7-7:30pm)the most is crazy, if you want to make profits as a business. I am going elsewhere next time just like the others. The winner is of course certain employees taking 7.83*2=£15.66 per day for just sitting there and relaxing from 7 onwards! Must be owned by some rich owners who don't need our money!

Misleading and expensive On and off, I’ve been coming to this place for around 6~ years. Whilst the attendants are knowledgable, and the property clean and safe with plenty of machines and driers, the experience I have is always fairly poor. I have two main issues about this place: 1) The washing is expensive, and the drying is quite poor and needs a lot of time and coins to get your load to a relatively dry condition. 2) This place never stays open on the advertised position (see pictures). The attendants always close this place early and there’s never really any warning as to why. They’ll always say it has to do with covid or ‘tidying up’ before closing time, but they’ve been doing this well before covid and it’s not really ‘open’ if you’re tidying up then, is it? There are better places to go to that are more reliable, cheaper, and have more powerful driers. Only use this place if you really have to.

I go to this launderette every Sunday. I have never had a problem. It's really quite straightforward. The machines take coins, bring coins with you. You can quite easily go to a post office and exchange notes for £1 coins. I go in. I say good morning to whoever is behind the counter. I put my drying in and then take a walk to CO-OP. When my drying is finished, I thank whoever is behind the counter and leave. I've never had any issues with the staff or the machines I once had no coins and the lady exchanged a £10 pound for some coins and I didn't get bitten or shouted at as some have reviewed. I don't know, maybe it's the area. But I find the secret to it all is that if you are nice to people, then people are nice to you.

We chose this place because it was close and our washing machine broke. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with a rude attitude and was told we had to put our washing in the washing machine straight away if we wanted to get our stuff done on time for the women to leave, even though it was only 4.30pm and they were suppose to close at 6pm. There was plenty of time left until they shut (the wash was only 30mins long). The lady picks which machines you have to use and always says the smallest machines even though we had 3 bags of clothes to wash. I highly recommend you DO NOT use these facilities unless you want to be made to feel degraded by the lady who works there.

One of the least romantic and minor stressful parts of travel for weeks at a time is doing the laundry. Trying to get coins is a pain especially when you're in a different country to your own. Fortunately this was all made easy by this laundromat and its staff. The machines were efficient and clean. We were advised on the amount of money we should use when drying based on the staff eyeing the amount of clothes we had. Previous excursions had taken over 2. 5 hours (a long story involving wrong signs on machines and having to walk 10 minutes each way to get more change) but the staff's help we were all done in just over 75 minutes.

My husband put our clothes in to dry this evening and told the lady there that the traffic was bad (due to people queuing for petrol), but he would be back in time to collect them. She acknowledged this and, as promise, returned at 7:50pm to collect the clothes only to find she had closed up. It is advertised that they close at 8, however it must have been closed quite some time before then as there was no one to be seen there, even after he knocked a few times. Our daughter is now without her uniform for school tomorrow. If you advertise that you are closing at 8 then that is when you should close.

My wife went to dry her clothes and wanted change. All the lady had to say was she had no change but she started shouting at my wife saying I don't have change u will have to go outside to get change. But then she had change for a fellow white customer who was at the laundry at the time. Terrible customer service! I need to know who to contact about that lady because she will drive a lot of customers away with her! Outrageous!!!

The machines mostly work and your clothes will get clean. There is usually someone around to help with change and buying detergent, even close to closing times. Just make sure to bring cash. Note that they will kick you out at closing time, so make sure there is enough time left for the cycle to finish.

What joke this place is. It’s open until 9? I go in at just gone 7 and miserable woman just says, it’s too late to wash now. So I ask how long is a wash and she says an hour and it takes about half hour in the dryer. So how is it too late to wash. No wonder the place is empty.

Went there 19:30 and the lady very rude to me when i asked her still open ,she said she is going home and closed with our saying sorry or any apology for closing earlier then usual time ,and i asked her still 30 mints left she said she doesn’t care just want to go home .

The old lady was so rude to customers. Especially on New Year’s Eve. We called and she said they close at 6pm. We were there 4:50 and she didn’t allow us as she said they close at 5pm now. 2 other customers came and said they called too, but didn’t allow them.

Very worst customer service I used the laundry this eve Staff worked this evening is very rude to me She removed my clothes from dryer in halfway and asked me leave with wet clothes and refused to give money back and receipt Closed 1 hour earlier.

Sadly our washing machine has deceased and it's been a long month for repairmen coming and going. We visited Wow Laundrette, was greeted in a very friendly manner and was helped a lot when we needed, in terms of sizes of machines.

Very poor exeprience. The lady is very rude. Avoid by any cost , DON'T go there. Go somewhere else! Never return back! Listen your customers!!!

I visited at 16:30, I’ve been denied to use their machines despite them being open till 18:00. The lady supervising wanted to leave early.
