True story - A couple of years ago I moved out of the Seattle area and reluctantly tried finding another dentist closer to my home. Upon my arrival at the new dentist office, I informed the dentist that I had been a patient of Dr. McKay. Well for the first 15 minutes of that cleaning appointment, I heard nothing but praise and admiration from that dentist about Dr. McKay and how he read all of Dr. McKay's books and attended his seminars on dentistry. That experience was all the convincing I needed to travel the extra miles from Tacoma to Seattle and return to ACLD. I spent years with a mouthful of ugly and missing teeth due to lack of calcium and just poor dental care. I wouldn't open my mouth to smile for fear people would see my teeth. I was so embarrassed and ashamed. One day I finally realized I needed to do something and that's when I made an appointment with Dr. McKay. It was a turning point in my life. The care I received from the staff and Dr. McKay was fantastic! There was not a moment where I felt scared or nervous or in any pain, it was like being with family that care about you. Took my money up front for 3 appointments. Didn't tell me my insurance was out of network. Thankfully I found out through my insurance before I got a cleaning. (8/9/18 Response) I was never told I was out of network, even when I questioned the money up front. I was never told that the money up front was because I was out of network, just that you didn't know how much my insurance would cover and that getting the money up front would cover the difference, and if there were no difference I would get the money back. Frankly, the fact that you're trying to portray me as a liar by stating "As you know, our team informed you..." is a little disgusting for a medical professionals office staff. Good luck. To those reading reviews, do you really want to visit a dentist that withholds information from you, then blatantly fabricates lies about you, the patient?!

Cris Duval is the world's best dental hygenist. I once heard Oprah ask Dr. Oz what was the single most important way you could improve your health and increase life expectancy. His answer was surprising to me. It was simply to floss. Since hearing this I have done a little research. Your mouth is the gateway to your health. Keep it healthy and you will likely stay healthy. Cris checks my mouth for both oral cancer and HPV cancer. Yes, they are now two tests that only take seconds. She knows more about how to keep your tissues healthy than practically anyone else. She publishes papers on this subject. Even though I live in Austin, TX, I travel to Seattle twice per year to see her. She is simply the best and so is Dr. McKay who created my beautiful smile over 10 years ago. They are absolutely my secret weapon for a longer, healthier life!

Dr. McKay and his team have taken care of me for over 15 years. I currently make the trek from Olympia to Seattle because having a good dentist is worth the drive (I lived in Hawaii for a few years and would fly in for an appointment). Dr. McKay and his staff are great! Called to schedule an appointment for TMJ symptoms and Dr. McKay was able to squeeze me in within the week. Most other places I called wouldn’t see a new patient for at least 5 weeks and went straight into the cost of their treatment before even asking my name. I’ve been seeing Dr. McKay for about 3 months now and my symptoms have definitely gotten better. You can tell that he and his staff care about your health!
