MY REVIEW: One weekend morning in January 2020, my car would not start. After attempting to jump start it, I realized I needed to have it towed. I had become dissatisfied with a previous auto shop and I happened to have some time on my hands while I waited for the tow truck. I did a web search and found Advantage Automotive. It had rave reviews. I had my car towed to their lot, wrote a note about the issue, and dropped it along with my keys in their lock box. I got a call the following week from David stating that I needed a new starter. Parts plus labor would be $600. I approved the repair. The next day, I received another call from David stating that when the technician went to begin the repair work, he discovered a loose wire. He reconnected the wire and my car started! David stated that the techs had started my car about 60 or so times afterwards and it started each time. He then said that I may want to hold off replacing the starter for now since the issue may have been resolved. Wow! After already feeling confident that I found my new mechanics, I went to pick up my car and pay for the labor services incurred. David stated that they were not going to charge me anything for the little time it took to remedy the problem. He just asked that I consider returning to their shop should I encounter any other auto issues in the future. Wow, again! I am now going to be a customer of theirs for life!

I've never written a google review for anything before, but I really thought Advantage Automotive deserved positive recognition. They are an exceptional autoshop who go far beyond what any normal company would do for its clients. They fixed multiple issues on my vehicle to include alternator, coolant system, radiator, multiple check engine lights, and battery in addition to normal oil changes/fluid changes. David is highly knowledgeable and fair when it comes to any questions I had. They were willing to show me in person what the issue was every time, options to resolve it, and the best financial options. I had both new and re-manufactured parts installed. David also came and pushed me out of the middle of the highway when I broke down on tramway on the way to get work done - goes to show his true character and willingness to just be a good person. James was also willing to let me bring my vehicle in 20 mins prior to close when I started having issues the day before I moved. He not only inspected my vehicle right away when I arrived, but he didn't charge me anything for it - another example of the people of character they employ here. The facility is spotless, they always answer the phone, and they resolved every problem I had. I cannot recommend them enough as the best autoshop in Albuquerque!

James at Advantage Automotive was highly recommended by my sister and brother in law, and now I know why. I was seeking pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle and was unable to take it at the time I had arranged. Later in the day, I called and David said they could get me in. They were prompt getting the inspection started and it was finished in a very timely manner. They were very thorough, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and professional. I witnessed several transactions with other customers and would say the same for all of them. Clearly, they have many repeat customers, and make a point to address each customer by name. While they didn't perform any work at this time, they have earned my business. The only hesitation I have about leaving a stellar review is thet they may become so popular that it's hard to get in with them when I need work done! I commend the team at Advantage Automotive for running a great business in a time when mediocrity seems to be the standard.

I felt I needed to post this review on this particular company due to my dissatisfaction with the work, or lack of. Went in to have lower control arm replaced and engine light diagnostic and oil change. Control arm was replaced then I received a call saying they found a coolant leak. They ordered parts and fixed the “leak”, which it wasn’t leaking prior. Got the car back. Car overheated and was towed to shop. Turns out, the hoses that were replaced didn’t fit the radiator, which an AFC master technician should have known prior to replacement. Radiator now replaced and over $2200 later, my car STILL makes the same noises that it first did when it went in. I’m highly disappointed with the service I received and I will not return. Yes they are clean and have smiles but now I’m broke and my problem wasn’t resolved.

This review is about AAs customer service. David and James (Jim? sorry if Im wrong) was a pleasure to work with, very open communication and walked me through the whole process of getting my brakes and rotors replaced. They were also kind enough to give me rides back and forth to my house when they were checking out my van. It was honestly very strange to be treated so well at a mechanic shop as Im used to impatient/over-worked/stressed know it alls. These guys are the absolute opposite. Unfortunately, I could not afford the fix and decided to take another route with my vehicle repair. Regardless, they did not charge me for any of the rides or the checks on my car. Very trustworthy shop in a sea of sketchy mechanics. I look forward to working with them in the future. Do business here.

I have recently moved to Iowa from Las Vegas and my 1500 mile trip was a difficult one, filled with blown tires and overworked engines. But if it wasn't for Advantage Automotive and David P. taking care of me. Our tough trip could have been much worse. I required a minor repair to my engine(crank shaft sensor replacement) a repair that although not serious in town could have incapacitated my truck out on the highway. David understood and sympathized with my situation and he and the rest of the Advantage staff got me back on the road in a matter of a few hours. So if you need any services on your vehicle or minor repairs done quickly and want to be treated with honesty and receive quality service, be sure to stop in Albuquerque and visit Advantage automotive.

As a woman, I dread going to auto repair shops. In fact, I normally take my car to several places before deciding to fix an “issue”. However, at Advantage Automotive, I haven’t felt the need to! They not only took extra time to look at my car and explain everything but, they took me INTO the shop to show me the issues they found AND they provided me with photos before replacing any parts. Never have I been treated so well at an auto repair shop. They even got me in the next day to fix the issue. I’ll never take my car anywhere else. This place is trustworthy, dependable and respectful. If you’re a woman who has been screwed over before, like me, look no further, Advantage Automotive will take care of you.

Went in to have my dash air on my RV repaired. As James drove it into the bay he knew it was misfiring. We had just thought that was the way it ran. They got all repairs done in one day and now my Pace Arrow is humming up hills and getting better mileage then ever in the 10 years we have owned it (went from 8 mpg to 10.5 mpg on first tank of gas) James & John are extremely service oriented and went out of their way to get the job done and us out on the road. Anyone with a Workhorse Chassis should not think twice about coming here for service. We are full timers and base in Tucson but I can tell you any work I need I am coming back here to have it done. I have used Advantage Automotive since 2000 for all mechanical repairs on my motor home. I have been extremely satisfied with the work performed. When additional things might be required (front end alignment, for example), it is brought to my attention. When additional items can be repaired with minimal additional cost (replace an old water pump while the radiator was being replaced) this is done without adding the R&R for the water pump to the bill. The staff are friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. Commitments are met, which is always appreciated.

After getting the runaround from a competing auto service company in Albuquerque, I contacted Advantage Automotive. I was traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to St. Paul, Minnesota and my vehicle broke down about 20 miles outside of Albuquerque. David set me up with a towing company. Once my vehicle arrived at their shop, they took it right in and diagnosed the problem. It turned out to be a warped tire. They directed me to a tire company and they charged me nothing. I was very impressed and would highly recommend Advantage Auto to anyone in Albuquerque area.

Our RV quit running outside of Albuquerque. The towing company recommended this shop to take a look at it. The towing company parked our RV in front of the shop 10 PM Sunday night. First thing Monday morning we were the " out of town guests" on their doorstep. They were most gracious to the four of us. The shop is spotless, bathrooms, waiting rooms included. They fixed our RV same day, a fuel injector had failed. Professional shop, no scrimping on tool quality or diagnostic equipment. Would recommend for any level of repair.

I recommend this shop to everyone! They are honest, upfront and do great work. One of the many things they have done was a complete wiring of my cars wiring harnesses that was ripped to shreds from a blown tire and it has been years since that was done and has never had an issue. And the price is always the best in town and they were fast at getting it done. And keeping me informed as they went. All the mechanics and office people are great!!

I will not take my 2 Subarus any where else. I have been their happily satisfied customer for a number of years. The shop is spotless which I really appreciate, their work is top notch. James, John, Sharon, and Doug all know my personal situation and they make sure I will not have any trouble with my vehicles. These folks not only know their stuff when it comes to vehicles, but they are kind, caring folks. I highly recommend them!

Everyone there respects their customers. From the first phone call until the time my car left the lot. Even sent a well-wishing card, which btw was JUST that. No advertisement nor a pushy referral offer, just a card showing appreciation. They were helpful, informative, and truly friendly. I'm so used to condescending now-it-alls when I deal with anybody in the automotive service industry, but these guys are different.

This is my Go-To place for all my vehicle maintenance and repairs. They have incredible and friendly customer service. They never, ever try to take advantage or upsell (which is important to me as a single female). They've proven this by suggesting fixes for things that I already knew were an issue, explaining costs, and offering up other solutions. I trust them, and that says a lot.

"Dodge Challenger 2012" This is the cleanest shop I have ever been to in my life! Amazing customer service Friendly is worth it! After calling several places to get the AC fixed on our Ford Explorer... Advantage Automotive was able to get us in right away. They were able to order the part and work on the car in a timely manner that fit our needs. Very clean and tidy workshop. Very friendly staff. We will continue to use Advantage Automotive for our maintenance needs from now on. GREAT SERVICE!!!!!!

The people at Advantage (John and James) are very knowledgeable. Even when we have an emergency, they manage to schedule us in immediately. They are always concerned about the cost to their customer and make suggestions as to whether things need to be repaired or "tweaked" rather than suggesting the most expensive route available. They are always friendly and reliable.

I brought a town and country in with the whole wiring harness ripped apart after a tire blow out and they fixed it to perfect condition. They also kept the repair in the quoted rate, no suprises or up sales. Very clean and professional. They were polite in explaining when asked tons of questions. Definitely would recommend any little or huge repair or maintenance.

I had my truck aligned at the dealer and they told me that they couldn’t get it aligned in spec and I would need a camber kit and another alignment. The cost was going to be >$500. I brought my truck here and they were able to get it aligned without a camber kit. They saved me over $400 had the job done quickly and were great. I will definitely come back.

Watch out ladies, these people will take you for a ride. I gave them a fair shake, but they overcharged me. Quoted $400 for ignition coil which was already high, then when it came time to pay it mysteriously became $600. They also told me I had a cracked cylinder head and replacement would be 3-6k, which is way off the mark. Goodbye robbers!

Have no fear when David and the crew are there! Their very nice, they helped us with are spark plug and leaking problems. I gotta say $200 for a coolant hose repair seems a little too over priced. But I got to say that they are one of the better auto repair places in town other than the over priced issue. Please give them a shot! :.) …

It’s not always easy to find a trustworthy mechanic, but I know for a fact I’ve found them at this place. I would highly recommend this place for anyone needing any automotive work.

Yes you saw it in the pictures, the place is always that clean. I have been going to Advantage for many years. Although they may not be the cheapest in town, I think they have the most competent and quality service I've found in ABQ. Mechanics are like doctors, you have to trust them to keep coming back. We took our motor home in to have the brakes checked because they had overheated. They worked us in. James was very helpful. It was just rust on the rotor and since they did nothing, they charged us nothing. We asked a local for a recommendation on a place to take our car and they gave us this place. Great place.

Unfortunately I did not get service. Something glitched and phone calls didn't happen. The owner found out and we talked. Very nice man and was apologetic that I was not contacted. With that info, if something comes up again, I'll give it another shot. I appreciate he took the time to try to make things better.

This place is a joke. They wouldn't even take a look at my vehicle because "it's too old" and it's only a '95. They serviced this truck twice in the past but all of sudden it's too old??? What BS. I call that terrible customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I recommend others do as well.

All the qualities of a professional business from start to finish, people, facilities and service!
